Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
it was quite helpful for me. But is there any way to display the data in the same line in excel as if we set row height exactly then it works but data going to be display in the next line.
e.g.
NASHOBA VALLEY
MED CTR
But our requirement to display it like NASHOBA VALLEY MED CTR.

• Excel output for the xml publisher report when it is scheduled

How to get the excel output for the xml publisher report when it is scheduled by a apps user? Like what is the user profile option (for the apps user who runs the report) and what are the other things that needs to be taken care of so that only this xml publisher report run by this apps user produces a EXCEL output (When scheduled) ???
Really appreciate it if any one can help me in this regards.
Thanks
Munna

Hi Munna,
For eBusiness Suite (apps user) the report output is stored the same way whether executed immediately or scheduled.,To get excel set the options > output format to Excel. Only the user that submitted the report can view it, or you can get the output file from the server. Or you can set the notify option so that a Workflow Notification is sent when the request completes.

• How to control Excel Output in Oracle BI Publisher

I have created an XML report in Oracle E-Business Suite. It displays the output in Excel. The problem is when I generate it's output in PDF it is perfectly fine but when I see the output in Excel, the layout automatically aligns it to the leftmost corner. This behavior is same with all the Excel reports.
My question is: Is it the default behavior of Excel outputs or Can I control the layout so that it is displayed in the middle not the leftmost corner?
Can I center align the layout by default? If so , how?

• PDF output generated by XML Publisher is not printing in Dotmatrix Printer

Hi All,
We have designed a template for a particular concurrent program to print it's output format in PDF. The concurrent is running fine and it has produced the output in PDF format. But we are unable to take a printout of the output in our Dotmatrix printer (Epson FX2175). We configured PASTA driver as per the Metalink Note ID: 739186.1. By using this Configuration we are able to take printout in our hp LaserJet 1320 printer. But not able to take printout in Dotmatrix printer. Hi,
I have a similar issue, where the output is coming with some junk characters while printing to the printer. I contacted my System Administrator regarding the PASTA driver being installed on the printer and it is already done, but I am still having the issue.
I am trying to print it from the Bursting control file, using following command : <xapi:print id="LOCALPRINT" printer="ipp://192.168.1.73:9100" copies="1" />

• XML Publisher report default output in Excel format.

Hi,
We have defined one concurrent program whose output format is text, this concurrent program executable is PL/SQL and in this PL/SQL program we are generating XML data and displaying XML using below fnd_request.
l_conc_id := FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('GMP','GMPPDROP','', '',FALSE,
         p_sequence_num,chr(0),'','','','','','','','','','','',
We have also defined template for this.
Using below fnd_request we are choosing template and data is getting generated in PDF format. Now our requirement is to display the output by default in Excel format.
FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('XDO','XDOREPPB','', '',FALSE,'',
l_conc_id,554,G_comb_pdr_temp,
G_comb_pdr_locale,'Y','RTF','',scale_report,'','','','','',
When i saw XML Report Publisher concurrent program, there is one parameter for Output Format and i tried passing 'Excel'/EXCEL/excel to this parameter but output is still coming in PDF format.
FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('XDO','XDOREPPB','', '',FALSE,'',
l_conc_id,554,G_comb_pdr_temp,
G_comb_pdr_locale,'Y','RTF','Excel',scale_report,'','','','','',
I have also tried giving Default Output to EXCEL in template definition but this is also not working.
Your valuable suggestions highly appreciated.
Thanks

• Created Excel Template XSL, but XML output always open IE (not Excel)

Hello,
We are using :
-     XML Publisher : 10.1.3.4.1
-     Oracle Appli : 11.5.10.2 ( DB : 10.2.0.4.0)
- Oracle Reports Builder : 10.1.2.0.2
We use Reports for building the query that is used with XML Publisher.
We would like to use XML Publisher with an output Excel.
After noticing a problem with display of numeric cells when using a RTF template ( decimal places, there's a lot of threads on this), we decided to follow an advice on xlspe.com, and we created a Excel template, that we saved as a XML Spreadsheet, and using the xlspe tools, we generated the XSL file.
Then we defined everything in Oracle Applications EBS:
- data definition
- template ( XSL-XML as input, and XML as output. Note that XML is the only option)
- executable ( execution method "Oracle Reports" )
- program request : ( output format XML )
This works fine when the use a RTF template with an output Excel. (except the issue on the decimal places). in the concurrrent requests form, the output button opens Excel correctly.
When we go with a XSL template, with an output XML, the output generation works fine, but, in the concurrent requests form, the output button opens internet explorer IE instead of Excel (probably because it's a XML output file)
I hope my explanation is clear.
Did I make a mistake in the definition ?
Is there anyone who has experienced and solved this issue ?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Olivier

Hello,
After many talks, I found out how to fix this issue.
Basically, the issue is in Oracle Application where the MIME type is not defined for XML Excel type files.
By default, XML is open with the browser.
For solving the opening of XML Excel files with Excel (and not Internet Explorer IE), we had to add under the "System Admin > install > Viewer Options " a new entry for " XML - application/xnd.ms-excel - Microsoft Excel "
And also, under the System profiles, for option "Viewer: Application for XML", set the value to Microsoft Excel, and, as well, for option "Viewer: Application : Text", set the value to Browser.
This resolves the issue, and a XML Excel file generated by XML Publisher (from a XSL-XML template), is opened directly with Excel.
Thanks for your contributrion,
Olivier

• Export All rows using xml publisher.

I have requirement to show search results using region style table and should be able to export all the rows into excel with additional columns that are not shown in table region. Search results could be million rows.
I know that max results that are shown in the table region are based on value set in Profile option FND: View Object Max Fetch Size. In my case it is set as 5000. Since I need to show addition columns from different tables in excel that are not in table region, I have decided not to use export button but created a submit button to integrated xml publisher to launch excel. Now the problem is excel shows only 5000 rows. I do not want to increase FND: View Object Max Fetch Size as it may affect performance.
My question is for my requirement what’s is the best solution performance wise and assuming user could search thousands of rows and exported to excel.
If integrating xml publisher is the solution..how do I show all the rows?
Thanks SC

I tried to suggest in your other thread. Please check.

• Integration with XML Publisher

Has anyone found out or used the integration with XML Publisher? I am using the Sourcing product and it can generate report output based on XML Publisher directly from an OAF page. I was wondering how that is done.
Anyone know?

I had a similar query - I heard that AR, GL, and AP (11i10) are not compatible with XML Publisher - is this true? I thought was the XML Publisher was independent of modules.
Pls share any experience with the Publisher tool - challenges, installation, comparison to Optio, etc.
Thanks, Vishnu
