Excelsius flash object not displaying in DHTML viewer

We are using Crystal 2008 and ASP.NET 2.0.
When executing a Crystal report containing an Excelsius object and viewing it in the DHTML viewer, nothing comes up. This is going through a web page and ASP.NET.
There is a blank spot where the flash file should go but nothing else. It works when running it in Crystal reports. Right-clicking on the space shows the Adobe flash properties but nothing else.
Are there any special considerations we need to take into account when viewing an Excelsius object in the DHTML viewer on the web?

I've just tried it and it works fine. I am using CR 2008, SP 1 and .NET 2008.
SP 1 is here:

  • Flash objects not displaying in Firefox (but works fine in Chrome and IE)

    Well, I'm trying to embed a Shockwave Flash object into a website I'm building. It displays in Chrome and IE, but it doesn't show up at all in Firefox. It's just white space. Ive tried it on two machines, so it's presumably the code. Both the machines have Adobe Flash enabled... I'm not sure what the problem is. I've not worked with embedding Flash objects in HTML before, so, it's probably something really obvious. I just used the insert command on dreamweaver and it wrote the code that I'm using. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. Here's my code:

    If you can't post an address for a page demonstrating the problem, could you check the Web Console (Ctrl+Shift+k) and Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+j) for any messages related to the Flash media? For example, does either console show that Firefox is requesting the SWF file? Does either show an error in content type or any kind of security message?

  • Flash object not represented in Design view

    When I had CS3 and I put in a flash object into my design there was a place holder or grey box that represented where teh flash would be. I no longer see it anymore and I am missing it. Then best i can do is get one of those little yellow icons that lets you know there is a script there to show up.
    How do i tun on the place holder version again. (Not really a place holder but I am not sure what to call it)
    Thanks,
    Houston

    Using CS4 I just did a test and inserted a flash object and could see a grey box with the 'F icon' in the middle.
    Have you checked  View>Visual Aids> Invisible Elements is ticked?
    Not sure if this is causing you not to see it - but it's the only suggestion I have  :-)

  • PreE V8: Clips not displaying in project view

    I have a clip in the my timeline/sceneline that is not displaying in Project view. It also does not have the "P" in the bottom corner of the thumbnail in Organizer view. Why isn't the clip considered part of the project?

    I have been shooting in XP+ mode and have been for the past year.
    I haven't tried using the Premier Elements Get Media function. I usually import both still images from one camera and the video from this camera at the same time into the same Photoshop album and use Organizer. Also there are some training videos and books that tell you to use Organizer.
    I tried importing a video file using the Get Media function and was able to use the set in/out points and have them saved correctly.
    Then in the project that I am working on I took one of video files that I imported through the Organizer and deleted it from the catalog. Then I imported it using the Get Media function and put it in the album with the other files. Then I used Preview to set in/out points. Those points were saved correctly.
    So know I will delete all the remaining video files from the catalog that I haven't yet used in my project and then remote them through Premiere's Get Media.
    So it appears that as you thought, I need to use Get Media to import video files. But that is not emphasized in any documentation. I think there should be a warning when importing video files in Organizer saying that if you intend to use Premier Elements to edit them that they should be imported via that product.
    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Flash Text not displaying certain fonts

    Thanks as always…
    I am trying to use Flash text for some headings, but after an
    hour of pulling my hair out I've just realised it will only display
    certain fonts, such as Helvetica etc.
    I added the font I want to use to my font list but it still
    does not display…
    I'm using MX on OSX 10.3.9.
    Any ideas? Thansk.

    Is your text in a dynamic text box, or static text box in
    flash?
    I don't think the issue concerns the "true-type" or not
    "true-type" font.
    In Flash, when text is part of a dynamic text box (which I
    assume is the case in your situation),
    then the font works just like in an html page:
    if the font is installed on the computer it will show, if
    not, it won't. The way around this, is to
    embed the font data in the authoring flash file, and link it
    to the dynamic text box, via actionScript.
    So if you cannot work on the authoring Flash file with Flash
    MX or Flash8, and if indeed we're
    talking about a dynamic text box, your only option is to use
    a web-safe font.

  • Objects not visible in Map Viewer Display Data with Mouse Moveover

    Hi All,
    On version 11.1.1.5.2 OBIEE with Map Viewer a customer has the following problem. Data objects are not displayed as expected on the map when the visibility check box is disabled on a dashboard. However the data about the object is incorrectly displayed on the map when the mouse is placed over the location of the hidden object.
    The customer's screen shots show a map with a panel which has a list of assets with a check box controlling if the asset is displayed. When the check box is off then the asset image is correctly not displayed but when the mouse is placed over the hidden asset’s location then incorrectly a pop window shows the hidden asset's Tooltip data.
    I was unable to reproduce this in-house with an OBIEE dashboard connected to Google Maps.
    In the MapViewer User Guide there is a reference to a MapViewer JavaBean method “setSVGShowInfo” which appears to be related to this:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/e10145/vis_beanapi.htm#i1023460
    What approach should be taken to troubleshoot the problem?

    This is likely a bug.
    Is there an SR filed on this?
    Anyway, the Mapviewer javascript API is being used in OBIEE (not the java bean one).
    Is it a standard obiee map view which has this issue?
    Try the OBIEE Sample App (available on OTN)
    Try Dashboard page 3.3. SF Metrics. There are two layers that can be shown on the map (Revenue and Billed Quantity, and Establishment Revenue).
    Enable both and on hover the Rev & Billed qty info is shown. Uncheck Rev & Billed Qty and only the info for Establishment Revenue is shown on hover or when clicked on.

  • Flash Object not viewable within page

    Hello, I've been having trouble adding a Flash content into pages (which I'm quite innexperienced at). My homepage for example, is supposed to be a flash site. But for some reason it does not play when inserted to an incredibly simple webpage, as you can see here; www.ethanguillemette.com
    Instead of the flash site appearing, there is simply an empty white box. Now interestingly enough, the flash object is fine in and of itself, and can be viewed without problem (albeit far too large!) here; http://www.ethanguillemette.com/flashsite.swf
    The following is the code for the index page. Pretty much all I did was create a wrapper, center it, and add a background color:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    </script>
    </body>
    </html>
    Does anyone know what hairbrained thing I'm doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated!

    Just as general info I'd like to add a couple of my observations.
    There seems to be a number of very similar problems popping up in other Forums recently related to this same issue. I'm thinking that a recent Flash pluggin update is causing some of these problems.
    For example, I can't see the .swf files in either of hans links... I haven't updated my Flash pluggin for awhile (10.0.45.2). OK, I can understand if I can't view the .swf.
    But here is a similar problem posted over in the Flash Forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/868573?tstart=0
    I get a "download latest pluggin" message when attempting to view the posters page:
    http://www.brendaportfolio.co.uk/test.html
    However, I can direct download the .swf and view it just fine.
    So the problem is not that I don't have the correct version pluggin for that particular .swf, but rather that I don't have the correct pluggin as required by the embedding code used, specifically:
    <param name="swfversion" value="11.0.0.0" />
    older versions of his .swf/pages used an embed method calling for older version of "swfversion" as a param, those work just fine.
    So my guess is that in this posters case, the newer version pluggin IS required for his .swf, since I can't view the page. The old CS3 version, which used the old "AC_FL_RunContent" embed method only called for version 9 pluggin, while the .swf itself requires the latest pluggin.
    Perhaps a lesson to be learned is that when creating Flash content, you may not want to always develop for the very latest version of Flash Player, since not everyone has updated their browers. A second lesson/observation is that the embed method used in CS5 (swfobject_modified.js) seems to be putting the cart before the horse, requiring the latest pluggin update even if the .swf does not need it.
    Now I am all for using .swfobject, but NOT to display the Flash. swfobject is not needed, nor required to display Flash on a Web page. If the Web browser has the Flash pluggin a .swf will display just fine with some simple code like this:
    <object data="path_to_file/file.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="insert_width_of_movie" height="insert_height_of_movie">
      <param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">
      <param name="SomeOtherParam" value="ParamValue">
    </object>
    no other code, swfobject, or AC_FL_RunContent needed.
    The purpose if using .swfobject is to provide Flash detection (not Flash display) and display alternate content if the Flash pluggin is missing or not up to date. But it appears now that the version of .swfobject used in CS5 has incorporated "get the latest version pluggin no matter what" rather than "get the appropriate pluggin for this .swf".
    And yet one of the most powerful features of .swfobject is the most overlooked and underused, that of allowing you to create alternate content for SEO purposes. That alt content can completely remedy I Know Nothing at all's concerns:
    On another note, you are aware that a 100 % Flash navigated site is the worst thing you can do from an SEO standpoint right?
    From an old post:
    If you think that Flash is somehow bad for SEO, it's time to dispell that MYTH!
    If fact, in some circumstances I'll use Flash INSTEAD of just HTML because then I'll have better SEO than with just HTML alone.
    http://www.worldbarefootcenter.com/
    The link to World Barefoot Center in the above post is just one example. View the source code and you see a couple paragraphs of text along with regular HTML links.... but what displays is the Flash version of the image and Flash links.
    The client provided the artwork for the page... and that's what they wanted to use a .jpg image. Well yes, that could be done in HTML but it would be virtually invisible to Google. So Instead I converted the image into a Flash .swf and used swfobject to display the Flash. swfobject allows you to create alternate content inside the <div> which also holds the Flash .swf, then when the page is loaded it detects if the browser has the Flash pluggin. If it does, it displays just the Flash content, if not, it displays the alternate content. Since almost everyone has the Flash pluggin, for most people the Flash version of the <div> will display.
    The alternate content for that <div> can be any regular HTML text, images, media player, links, etc., anything that you would use if you were not using the Flash. Now the best part is that the alternate content can be "over the top" as far as optimizing for SEO, since it will not be seen by most viewers.
    Here's another example of SEO with Flash.. again, the page is just a single image provided by the client:
    http://www.ksowetsuits.com/
    View the source code. The alt content is paragraph after paragraph of information about the site, including lists and links. If it was just the HTML, it might be kind of a boring Home page. But for SEO I can go "over the top" in promoting the site, since most viewers will never see that part... but it's all indexed by search engines. The end result is BETTER SEO using Flash than just HTML.
    On another Web site, a Flash video is displayed, the alt content is the complete text narration of the video. Now how many people would take the time to read that if they could just watch the video instead?? again, better SEO with Flash than without. In fact in one case we had first page search result from that video narration within 4 hours of posting the page.
    On still another site with a Flash video, the alt content is another video, but a .mov version, which will, in effect play Flash video on the iPhone (not possible you say??). Well since the iPhone does not have Flash pluggin, it simply displays the .mov version of the video, while everyione else sees the Flash version.
    So anyway, if Flash is a part of your Web development, you should look into using swfobject and alternate content.

  • No charts or images displayed in DHTML Viewer on WebLogic 10.3

    Greetings,
    When I view crystal reports from CMC in the default DHTML viewer a red 'X' appears in place of charts and images. Charts in Active X and Java viewers appear normally. Running reports from Java SDK (PDF output) displays charts normally.
    Our Environment:
    BOE 3.1 SP2 (Fix Pack 5)
    2 Clustered Servers running on Windows Server 2008
    Web tier components on WebLogic 10.3 JAAS
    Input/Output Repositories on Shared Storage
    I have tried different things but nothing seems to resolve it. I tried searching for the dynamic image file created by the DHTML viewer but I couldn't find it. I looked in the Shared storage, both local servers, and the weblogic server... No trace.
    It is essential that we have DHTML working as our users don't have admin permissions to install the JRE or Active X.
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards,
    Hassan

    Hi,
    One obvious reason would be that you did not specify -trustcacerts, and the root CA is not included in the present server keystore. In that case, using the -trustcacerts option would solve the problem, if the root CA is indeed in the JDK cacerts.
    To print out the certificates present in the JDK cacerts, use the following command:
    keytool -list -keystore <JAVA_HOME>/jre/lib/security/cacerts -storepass changeit -v
    Then check if the root CA that signed your server certificate is present, and has not expired (in which case,you would need to re-import a newer one into cacerts).
    Another common reason for that error message is when you have used a proprietary CA to sign your server certificate. Then it would obviously not be in the JDK cacerts. The solution in that case is to import your proprietary root CA into the JDK cacerts, using the following command:
    keytool -import -keystore <JAVA_HOME>/jre/lib/security/cacerts -file yourRootCA.pem -storepass changeit -alias youralias
    A third reason for that error message is when your server was signed by an intermediate certificate. In that case, you would have received from your CA a chain of certificates. One way to solve this (not the only one, but this one works well): Prepend your intermediate CA file to your server cert file, and import the obtained concatenated file into the server keystore. Be careful, the intermediate CA must be BEFORE the server cert. Example:
    copy rootca.cer certchain.p7b
    type server.cer >> certchain.p7b
    The file certchain.p7b will be the concatenation of the intermediate CA and the signed server cert. Then import the newly created file under the key alias as follows:
    keytool -import -keystore serverks.jks -file certchain.p7b -alias yourkey -trustcacerts
    If you only prepend the intermediate root CA, you must make sure the the final root CA is in cacerts. But you can also prepend your whole chain of trust inside the server keystore.
    Regards,
    Kal

                                                                <img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" height="600" />
                                                      </a>
                                            <!--[if !IE]>-->
                                            </object>
                                            <!--<![endif]-->
                          </object>
                        </div>
              </body>
    </html>

    You can set an explicit width and height instead of a percent but I presume you want the flash object to be the size of the browser window specifying 100%. You also have noscale specified so I presume you're detecting the flash stage size and are dynamically laying out your content based on available space. Is that correct?
    That said, you're using XHTML strict but you have some invalid code. In browsers like IE that can be enough to pop compatibility mode and it gets messy. For instance the "align" attribute is not supported so you should remove it.
    Using 100% of the space is tricky. You have a scrollbar that can be invoked if you use 100%. Try 99% so the browser doesn't fire off a scrollbar just incase.
    Your CSS probably isn't doing enough either. Use your web developer tools in your browser to take a look at your object. You're only clearing margins on the body tag. Try something more aggressive to remove ALL margins and padding like so:
    *,html,body,object,div { margins:0; padding:0; }
    Your object probably has some margins or padding pushing it off screen and you're only setting margins for the body tag itself. Also a small CSS note. Anytime you specify a value of 0 you don't need to specify px, like 0px. No matter your unit, em, px, etc, 0 is 0. That's why I didn't put 0px if you were wondering.
    Also I specified 'div' in the CSS above. It may solve some of your problems to put your <object> inside a <div>.
    e.g.:
    <div style="width:99%; height:99%;">
        <object ............>
        </object>
    </div>
    Keep the <object> at 100% width and height if you place it inside that <div>. The browser is very good at dealing with <div>s and should have no problem keeping your content inside it resizing properly.

  • Page not displaying in outline  view.

    One of the pages in a site is not displaying in the outline view of CS2. Does this view have,, well different views. The page displays in source, preview, pdf preview & browser preview but nothing is displayed in outline. All other pages display in the outline view. • Report not display in report viewer

    i try to show ssrsc reports in asp.net web page using report viewer
    code
    protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    ReportViewer2.ProcessingMode = Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ProcessingMode.Remote;
    ReportViewer2.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new Uri("http://lenovo-pc/ReportServer");
    ReportViewer2.ServerReport.ReportPath = "/Report Project1/Report1";
    ReportViewer2.ServerReport.Refresh();
    where is the probelm... and why report not display?

    Hello,
    In SSRS, the issue is occurred when the credential of the datasource is configured with “Prompt for credentials”. Please check if you configured the credential with "Stored Credential" of the datasource. You can refer to the following steps:
    Click the black arrow of the report, select Security option.
    Click Data Sources in the left pane.
    1) If it is a "A custom data source”, please check the item "Credentials stored securely in the report server", and type the valid username and password. If the user is a Windows Account, you need to check item "Use as Windows credentials when connecting
    to the data source".
    2) If it is a "A shared data source", please remember the path, and then open the data source from the Report Manager.  Make sure the credential type is "Credentials stored securely in the report server".

  • Some report fields not displaying when users view reports in a Citrix

    Hi All, got a weird one.
    We have an app developed in MS Visual Studio 2007 that utilizes .NET crystal reports. Our users access these reports through citrix. Most of teh time, most people can view these reports correctly. SOME of the time, however, certain fields will disappear. The report still runs the same (grouping, ordering, etc) but key information is missing.
    After re deploying the reports and / or clearing the user's roaming profile then everything is good for a while, so I know it has something to do with a temp or cached version of the report. is there a way to set .net crystal reports to NOT cache AKA create new every time?
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    JOhn.

    Hi John,
    Yes and Yes.... 14 years...
    Multiple Commands and multiple data sources without being linked can cause problems if you also use SQL Expressions. If you try to add more than one data source in the Designer you'll get a pop up warning about server side grouping and SQLExpressions can not be used.
    But I don't think this would be the cause. May be a result of the option logically internal to CR but I don't think the data source would be the issue, again you said the info is there just not displayed.
    Do they have access to run your app without going through Citrix? Possibly running your app using Remote Desktop. Could rule out if it's a CR issue. I think this may be a GDIPlus problem, it is the dll that renders the page and could be dropping the objects. I know MS has been patching it lately to plug security holes....
    One option, if they can, is to use [Modules |https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip], get then to run it when the reports are working and then again when they are not and see if there are any dll differences...
    I have heard of a few other cases with Citrix and I believe it was narrowed down to being a Citrix problem and that was as far as we could take it....
    Process Monitor may help but if it's random it's a lot of info to go through to determine the cause.
    Maybe logging a case with Citrix might help also....
    Thanks again
    Don
