Exception: Cluster address must be set when clustering is enabled

Hi,
I've created a simple web service and deployed to a cluster. When i invoke the WSDL url (http://localhost/webservice/MyService?WSDL) through the browser i get the enclosed exception (listed at the bottom)
I can easily solve this issue by explicitly stating a cluster address witihin the admin console ( Environment->Clusters->Cluster Address:), however the documentation states that i do not need to do this. ( http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/webserv/setenv.html#wp220521 )
Can someone clarify that indeed I need to explicitly declare a Cluster Address when deploying and invoking web services within a clustered environment.

Hi,
You will have to specify the address for the cluster to get this work. This was done because if cluster address is not specified, there were other issues that popped up.
Its works as designed.

I'm using ODI for CDC (Oracle 10g Consistent (LOGMINER)) and one of the notes says "in a production environment a DBA should set these parameters rather than letting ODI automatically set them". I would like to use AUTO_CONFIGURATION=NO so this means that the parameters must be set manually.
My question is: do one know which parameters must be set manually?

Failover cluster server - File Server role is clustered - Shadow copies do not seem to travel to other node when failing over

New to 2012 and implementing a clustered environment for our File Services role. Have got to a point where I have successfully configured the Shadow copy settings.
Have a large (15tb) disk. S:
Have a VSS drive (volume shadow copy drive) V:
Have successfully configured through Windows Explorer the Shadow copy settings.
Created dependencies in Failcover Cluster Server console whereby S: depends on V:
However, when I failover the resource and browse the Client Access Point share there are no entries under the "Previous Versions" tab.
When I visit the S: drive in windows explorer and open the Shadow copy dialogue box, there are entries showing the times and dates of the shadow copies ran when on the original node. So the disk knows about the shadow copies that were ran on the
original node but the "previous versions" tab has no entries to display.
This is in a 2012 server (NOT R2 version).
Can anyone explain what might be the reason? Do I have an "issue" or is this by design?

Cluster-managed shadow copies can only be created in a single quorum device cluster on a disk with a Physical Disk resource. In a single node cluster or majority node set cluster without a shared cluster disk, shadow copies can only be created and managed
locally.
You cannot enable Shadow Copies of Shared Folders for the quorum resource, although you can enable Shadow Copies of Shared Folders for a File Share resource.
The recurring scheduled task that generates volume shadow copies must run on the same node that currently owns the storage volume.
The cluster resource that manages the scheduled task must be able to fail over with the Physical Disk resource that manages the storage volume.

I want to use one of my icloud email addresses as a new apple ID. It was an additional email contact address I originally set up for my child. But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID. Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one. Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it? Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.

You must be talking about email aliases. Log into icloud.com with a browser, go to the email page and click the cog wheel icon in the upper right. Go to preferences>accounts. YOu can define aliases there. Note that they must now be @icloud.com named emails.

It sounds like you are unable to turn on Wi-Fi because the option is grayed out in Settings. Use these steps from the following article named:

Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.

Cluster Address

Hi,
          I have set up my cluster just on single machine with one admin server listening on 127.0.0.1:7001 and two managed servers listening on 8001 and 8011 (on same local host).
          Also I have configured a JMS queue on one of the managed server. I am trying to browse this queue (one of the sample program I copied from weblogic example directory) to the JMS server using a COMMAND LINE client. When I run my program like
          java examples.jms.queue.QueueBrowse t3://127.0.0.1:8001
          it works fine and it also works for port 8011.
          But I am not sure how can I give a cluster address rather than individual managed server address. I tried 127.0.0.1:7001 but if fails to do jndi look up of queue. (I guess it is because Queues are registered to the managed server not admin server).
          Any help would be appreciated

Typically you will need to map a DNS name to the IP addresses of the servers in your cluster. This DNS name should match the ClusterAddress that you set in your cluster configuration.
          For development purposes, you can also use the following URL: t3://127.0.0.1:8001,127.0.0.1:8011

Getting initial context using a cluster address

I am having trouble getting initial context using a cluster address. My cluster
has two WL 8.1 servers at localhost:8001 and localhost:9001. I set the hashtable
to get the initial context as follows:
env.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:8001,t3://localhost:9001");
This gives me the following exception:
Could not create JNDI InitialContext: javax.naming.ConfigurationException
[Root exception is java.net.MalformedURLException: port expected: t3://cammnbhati:8001,t3://cammnbhati:9001]
Any idea whey this is not working? If I set only one of the addresses then there
is no error. For example, the following works just fine:

Wl6 Admin - Cluster - Cluster Address - What does this tab represent?

In the WL6.0Sp1 Admin Console, at cluster creation time, a Cluster address
          is required. What does this cluster address represent?
          Heres what WL6 documentation says

          Cluster Address - This attribute returns the address to be used by clients
          to connect to this cluster. This address may be either a DNS host name that
          maps to multiple IP addresses or a comma separated list of single address
          host names or IP addresses.
          We created a cluster of 4 WL6 servers, 3 on Multi-homed Win2K with static
          ip's and one on a single-homed Win2k m/c. Our Enterprise appplication (ear)
          is targetted at the cluster only, not individual m/c's in the cluster.
          Initially, the Cluster Address was specified as all the ip addresses. Then
          we specified only one ip address in the Cluster Address tab. Yet, in both
          the above cases, we were able to access our application by hitting any of
          the 4 ip's in the cluster. The clustering algorithm was set to
          "Round-Robin".
          And in both cases (single ip address and 4 ip addresses in Cluster address
          tab), the cluster monitor on the Admin console was showing all four WL6
          server instances participating in the cluster! We also tried a DNS name that
          mapped to the Ip addresses and again all 4 instances were shown to be
          participating in the cluster.
          I have two questions
          1) What exactly is the significance of the Cluster Address tab?
          2) How do we know which WL6 server instance is being accessed at which
          client request. With round robin, will each of the 4 WL6 instances be
          accessed once every 4 requests? How do we monitor/verify this, either via
          console or via log files?

thank you thank you for taking an interest. this is so frustrating.
i only have apple keyboard, mighty mouse, and 20 inch cinema display connected. this morning took out memory and tried to boot up with individual pairs in the first bank. first the (2)256, the (2) 1g, and then the other (2) 1g modules. everytime I get the weird fuzzy wheel under the logo after a while, black screen flashes, then grey apple logo fuzzy screen then black forever.
I ran tiger updates this morn. still will only boot to safe mode. then tried to run leopard disk to install it
will not boot from leopard disk.
tried safe boot, then doulble click install leopard, restart, then the saga repeats with the pixely red square around the wheel.
these are fresh drives with only what came on instll disk loaded.

i love this system(well at least i did). I want to install leopard on my powerbook too but am terrified to do so right now since it is working and I have work to do. Can't afford to have no computer to do my work on...self employment is great?!

Package variable g_security_group_id must be set and Collections

we have an app that works fine under an individual user schema/workspace. I exported/imported the app into a new workspace/schema and all is well except for the page that is using a collection. when I call this page, it is throwing a 404 error. when I look in the apache error log I see:
mod_plsql: ORA-20001 Execute ORA-20001: Package variable g_security_group_id must be set.\nORA-06512: at "APEX_030200.F", line 279\nORA-06512: at line 33
Is there some security setting that needs to be set for the schema/workspace where the app was imported into? This appears to be only a collection issue as the new pages in the imported app work fine except for this one. Any ideas about fixing this g_security_group_id or is there a workaround?

Another follow up from me. Mine started with a HTTP 404, so in SQL*Plus:
exec dbms_epg.set_dad_attribute('APEX','error-style','DebugStyle');I refreshed the page and "ORA-20001: Package variable g_security_group_id must be set" appeared with all the debug info.
It turned out to be a varchar definition in a package function that was too small for the text I was assigning to it.
Fixed that, then
exec dbms_epg.delete_dad_attribute('APEX','error-style');to turn debug off.

WebLogic Horizontal Cluster - cluster address question

I have a question regarding horizontal clusters.
I setup a cluster following the instructions here: http://weblogicserveradministration.blogspot.com/2010/10/horizontal-clustering.html
It appears to be successful - I can see that everything is in a running state, etc.
Then I deployed an application to the cluster. The application is in an Active state.
I'm confused as to what the cluster address should be and also how to access my application.
Right now, I have this setting for the cluster address
wls1:7020,wls2:7020
Is this correct? If so, how would I access my application?
For example, would I use http://wls1:7020/app or would I use http://wls2:7020/app, or does it matter?
I'm not sure if I'm maybe missing some other important step..

Actually what you need to do is, to create a new server (stand alone) which would act as a proxy srver, and keep this in front of your cluster.. then you would use the port for this proxy server to use your application. and also there would just a proxy application which would be deployed on this proxy server for load balancing. then your request can be directed to either first or the other managed server.

Did you set up your email account info in Settings?
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Accounts > your account should be listed in there with the appropriate incoming and outgoing mail servers and correct user names and passwords.

i have the following problem.
I have a form based on an interactive report.
all standard made out of the apex possibilities.
i have a number of validations, all automatically created by apex, in the form because of the not possible being null of certain columns in my database.
when i press the insert button or save button when i didn't fill in all the necessary fields, i get the following error:
ORA-20001: Package variable g_security_group_id must be set.
Error ERR-1023 Unable perform validations.
OK
i allready checked my validations and i can't find something wrong with it.
they haven't been modified neither after being automatically created by apex
anyone any clue?

The problem with accessing the content of the disks is the CD Drive does not seem to access them. It also has a heck of a time ejecting them. Other disks seem to read. The unit came with imovie disks and I can use them. The disks look perfectly good no scratches but they just don't work, I was hoping I could just get a online copy of the address book to replace the one that seems to be missing. Or find it somewhere on my drive. Have no clue where to look though.

The links toolbar is not working. I can drag addresses to it, but when I click on them, the sites don't open. How can I fix this?

There is a toolbar feature in the lower right corner of the taskbar. I tried to set up the Links toolbar. I can drag addresses to this, but when I click them, nothing happens. What should happen is the site/page whose address I clicked should open.
How can I fix this? Is it a problem with the Firefox I'm currently using?

I checked out the links you provided. One is dead, one is for Windows 7, which doesn't apply to my problem because I'm using Windows 8, and I've been checking out the third.
I'm a novice and may not have the right vocabulary to explain myself. The Links toolbar is accessed from the bottom right side of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Apparently Firefox is necessary to use this, as everyone I've talked to swears it's not visible for IE.
What I'm referring to is Right-click "show hidden icons." Scroll up to Toolbars. Scroll over to Links. Check it to enable it. Then what should happen is I should be able to drag the address/url from the top of the page to this menu and click on it when I want to go back to that particular page. That is what is not working. Nothing happens when I click the addresses in the Links menu.
