According to the bug database (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4509128) this is already fixed in 1.3.2. However, I am seeing this in 1.4.2.
Is this a bug in the Java API or could this be a problem on the application side?

Deadlocking in java.io.UnixFileSystem?
We're using Java 1.4.0 on Solaris 8. We're seeing our JVM hang after periods of intense file system activity. We can get a thread stack just before the hang where 243 of 338 threads appear to be busy with the file system. For instance:

I'm struggling to reconcile why the threads are listed as runnable even though the JVM will eventually become unresponsive, even to SIGQUIT.

The VM is also unresponsive to SIGQUIT.
We're running 1.4.2 on a 1 CPU Solaris 8 server, using both the parallel new gc (-XX:+UseParNewGC) along with the CMS gc for old space (-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC). We're also doing heavy filesystem I/O but I'm not sure that's affecting this. We haven't seen this issue until we started using those two garbage collectors together.
I don't have any solutions, just confirmation of your problem. -

how can we make serialized?The concept of serializing a Thread makes no sense whatsoever. You don't want to do it. You don't need to do it. You can't do it. It wouldn't work if you could do it.
Somewhere or other you have a class member that is a reference to a Thread. Remove it or make it transient. If you post the code somebody may help you. If you don't, nobody can possibly do that. -

I am working on SAP PI 7.3.1 SP09. Currently we have interfaces which uses 50200 port. I have created a http destination from nwa pointing to https://....url. So all of a sudden all the interfaces went to error state. After debugging i found that the port 50200 is replaced with 50201which is https port. After changing the port to initial value ie., 50200 all interfaces are working fine except the one which were pointing to https url and they are showing the following error description.

The first one I mentioned in first message is the customer's one. The one we have extra is also connected to MAXIMO and GIS. Settings of this interface is completely same among one thing:

Is this a java mapping or Graphical, If Java, you should not run into this issue as you dont load the nested XSD`s.
Also the error message indicates outofMemory in mercator side when posting your Large message.

Why use customized / particular exceptions instead java.lang.Exception

Do any of you guys know where can I find a theorical statement / explanation about why use particular / customized exceptions instead java.lang.Exception? I am aware that it consumes more resources and becomes a heavier object, as well as the clearness when coding and all that stuff; however, my boss wants to see a tech document where all this is clearly stated. Any resource over there?

package-specific--excpetions, rather than Exception,
because then the caller knows what to expect. However,
if you declare "throws Exception", the caller can
still catch IOException, SQLException, etc.,
separately. He'll just have to be a really good
guesser as to which ones he should catch.True.
Also, there's no point in declaring "throws
NullPointerException." Any method can throw it without
declaring it. If you generate your own NPE (or other
unchecked exception) inside the method, then you
should document it in the javadoc comments, but you
don't need to put it in the throws clause. It doesn't
do any harm, but it's redundant and cluttersome.It was an example and I wasn't feeling too creative....excuse me. ;-) But yeah, I've never thrown NPE ever.

What overhead is created by extending classes?Hmm, I was under the impression that a class the extended another class, inherited all of the other classes data (variables, etc.). Hence, you get something like this:
SuperClass1 + SubClass1 + SubClassOfSubcCass1 = Memory usuage for SubClassOfSubClass1.
Since adding postivie number will always end up increasing data, SubClassOfSubClass1 will use more dtat than SuperClass1.

You dont need to check log file. Please check apache log file for error details.
By the way did you try to
1. close apps services
2. run autoconfig on dbtier than
3. run autoconfig on appstier and be sure you dont have any error message,than recheck issue

I am running EBS 11i, rdbms 10g on OEL4. After applying a bunch of patches to resolve some IE issues I ran into an error:
"FRM-41072: Cannot create group ACTION_REC_GROUP" when trying to cancel a PO.
An SR directed me to apply patch 8286920 which indeed fixed the FRM-41072 error. After this patch "Logon to Oracle Applications Manager" is not possible as the page gives me :

MOS thinks that patch 8286920 didn't break OAM but I don't think so since this is only happening on my DEV and TEST systems on which I have applied the patch. PROD, wihtout the patch, is accessible through OAM just as usual?

Did you bounce all the services and see if you ca reproduce the issue?
What about clearing the server cache files? -- How To Clear Caches (Apache/iAS, Cabo, Modplsql, Browser, Jinitiator, Java, Portal, WebADI) for E-Business Suite? [ID 742107.1]
Can you find any errors in the database/apache log files? Any invalid objects?
If you have verified all the above please update the SR with the error you have after applying that patch.

Change the permissions on the file to allow it to be written and you should lose the error.
If you have not edited the template file, there should not be any bad consequences. -
Exception data: java.lang.AbstractMethodError - Calling Remote Method.
We recently changed some of our CMP fields from primative int's to integer's and now we are receiving Abstract Method Errors at runtime. We have fixed all the methods that use this CMP fields, well at least we think we got them all. Since this are remote methods the sever is setup to pull JAR files from a lib directory on the server. This JAR files have also been updated. Can anyone give me more information about this error or something I might be missing.

The abstract method error is thrown when off.getOfcI() is called. OfcI is the field that was changed from a primative int to an integer.
Any help is appreciated
ChrisI am pretty sure. I am using RAD locally so I have deleted all the generated AccessBean and Deployment code and rerun the deploy. My concern is that these remote methods are using an external JAR file which is loaded when the server is started. I have updated this JAR files, but I am not sure if maybe they are being cached some where.

I have built a custom OA Page using Master-Detail approach. When I launch/run the page it goes to the error page with following message. This is not consistence as some times it does work. We are not making any change, when it works.The cause is unknown. I have deployed this page to Application server and there also the same problem. Sometime it works and sometime it doesn't. Bouncing the Apache Server helped sometimes but not always.
We are using RUP7 on 11.5.10.2.
