Exception in Report SQL

Hi:
How can I handle a "invalid_number" exception in reports 6i SQL Query.
Thanks.
Pradeep

You could for example be using a function like 'TO_NUMBER' to convert 'alpha' characters to numbers. Make changes to your select statement.
For example,
SQL> select to_number(object_name) from user_objects;
select to_number(object_name) from user_objects
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01722: invalid number

    Hi All,

    Note : I have tried all the tests(under the server, with administrator account.. ) but i get the same problem under Deski, but under Webi when i create the same Query nothings happen, in other words it works.

    Hi Aimen,
    Following solution might be helpful in resolving the issue.
    SQL statement is case sensitive in Business Objects.
    Follow these steps:
    Test the connection in your universe and click Details.
    From Details, copy and run the path for the PRM file used by your connection which will open the relevant PRM file in Notepad.
    Modify the following parameter (or add to the PRM file if it does not exist) as follows:
    <Parameter Name="CASE_SENSITIVE">N</Parameter>
    Save the PRM file.
    Close and relaunch Designer.

  • Issue with Exceptions in Reporting

    Hi BW Gurus,
                I am still new to BW, Like I have a issue with exceptions in reporting.
                Let me explain clearly, I created a report which gives me two MRP values they are for example V1 and PD(there other MRP types but I am focusing only this two). Here I can see in my report those two values and the overall result of all MRP types (they are 6 different types). My report looks like this for examply
       V1                  46,782,434(this are rough figures)
       PD                  56,232,453
       Overall Result      102,434,111
            Here my requirement is I need to find this overall result like accroding to thresold values this overall result shows RED,YELLOW,GREEN.
            I have given threshold values in exceptions. like
       0           -
    > 45,000,000(Red)
       45,000,001  -
    > 65,000,000 (Yellow)
       65,000,001  -
    > 500,000,000 (Green)
           But according to this values I should get Red( Overall Result), I cant see any change in the overall result.
           Please can some one give advice how to reflect this threshold values in my report.Or I have to select any other options in exceptions.
           Thanks in advance.
    Regds

    Not really possible with BEx functions, but if you provide a workbook to users you can just type in this information in a non-Bex cell and save the workbook.
    Else you can try to name your exception such that it shows the value ranges. Then in the report, from the toolbar Layout > Display Exceptions.
    Hope this helps...

  • Crystal report SQL Command and using IN

    Post Author: geozuh
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Does any one know how to get a multiple value prompts to work in Crystal report SQL Commands? I have an extremely large database and do not want to pull back all the records to the report. I know I can do the filtering in the report, but due to the size of the database, I am restricked from doing do.
    I would like to set the State as a multiple value parameter/prompt to be used in the SQL Command.
    Ex.
    Select CustID, FirstName, LastName
    from Customer
    where State in ('WI', 'IL', 'MN') --this would be turned into a parameter

    Post Author: yangster
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    you are over thinking the problemsimply create a parameter within crystal for your state and change it to allow multiple valuesthen in the select expert put in state = ?stateif you do show sql query you will see that the values are pushed down to the sql level thus no performance hit vs putting the parameter directly in the command itself

  • App-V Reporting: SQL query for Excel Pivot Table to display App Usage (H/M/S)

  • Exception Messages Report / List

    I have been unable to locate an exception messages report, either for production orders, requisitions, or purchase orders. I am looking for a report that will contain all of the exception mesages.
    Ideally, the output would be something like:
    1.   WBS element (project)
    2.   Material number
    3.   Material Description
    4.   Make or buy code
    5.   Recd. / Reqd. Quantity (This would be the qty affected by the exception message)
    6.   Date (e.g. date on which the material is currently expected to be received)
    7.   Purchase order or work order #
    8.   Purchase order line #
    9.   Purchasing group
    10.  MRP Controller
    11. Exception message Number
    12. Exception message Description
    13. Re-Scheduling date
    14. Various additional MM fields
    I have requested the report, but I am told by my IT group that the exception messages do not reside in any table, so they cannot be retrieved, much less exported to excel, so a list of teh applicable tables/fields would also help.
    I assume that this issue has been raised and solved many times, since SAP is not new and my request not unique.
    I welcome any suggestions.
    Thank you.

    HI,
    Why dont you try to list the messages in SE91 and by giving the application area.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran

    That 'getInt' method returns a Java 'int'. It will attempt to convert the actual data value in the result set column to an int.
    If the value is too large, too small or isn't even numeric you will get an exception.
    Isolate the problem (e.g. by debugging) to the row giving the exception and then examine the actual data value. If you are using NetBeans (or other) you can use the 'getString' method to see what the value is that is causing the problem.
    The actual 'solution' to the problem depends on your database, the table column definition and the business rules being implemented.
    You table could contain 'dirty' data and contain values larger than you want to be stored.
    Or your actual data could be correct and you are just using 'getInt' instead of 'getBigDecimal' or other method to get the value.
    Don't apply a 'solution' until you actually know what the problem is and the proper solution to implement.

  • Raising an exception in report

    Hi All,
    Consider the following scenario:
    a = b * c ( where a, b c are variables of type i)
    After multiplication, if the variable has reached it max limit of integers, then it would throw a short dump.
    My question: How do I catch this type of exceptions in reports.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Deepika

    Hi,
    Try the below code
    DATA : a TYPE i VALUE '1000000001'
         , b TYPE i VALUE '1000000001'
    DATA l_oref TYPE REF TO cx_root.
    DATA p_text   TYPE string.
    TRY.
        a = a * b.
      CATCH cx_sy_arithmetic_overflow INTO l_oref.
        p_text = l_oref->get_text( ).
        WRITE / p_text.
    ENDTRY.

    The correct syntax for case statements is:
    CASE WHEN condition = outcome then result WHEN condition2 = outcome2 then result2 ELSE result3 END
    I think the first bit is a touch disjointed.
    What is the logic that you are trying to represent?

  • View the reports sql statement before execution

    Hi
    I am developing reports with dynamic sql statements.
    How can I view the complete reports sql statement which is sent to the database?
    Thanks
    Juerg

    You can turn on the trace functionality. That will display the actual SQL statements sent to the database in the trace file.

  • Intermittent exception - Load Report Failed

    Hi, I am new to the forums, this does kinda involve .Net but not be a simple .Net issue so I posted here.
    I have been using Crystal Reports 10 for a while now, bolting it into web pages and never had issues but I have come across 2 lately that have me stumped. (I will do a different post for the other one)
    The problem is that INTERMIITANTLY I get issues in the production environment with a Load Report Failed exception. The main user with thi s problem says that it will do it late in the day and then all the way up until she goes home. Then in the morning it will work just fine. I have also hit the same issue on my pc in testing. However when I try to duplicate this in debug mode it ALWAYS works!
    One time I just republished and it fixed it for about a week or so then it started again.
    At first I thought it was our SQL server and some kind of connection or load issue because it occurs in this chunk of code - where it sets the login parameters
                        TableLogOnInfos myTableLogOnInfos = crv.LogOnInfo;
                        foreach (TableLogOnInfo myTableLogOnInfo in myTableLogOnInfos)
                            myTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = myConnectionInfo;
    But I have a whole bunch of sites which use the same backend class and the same code and they work just fine even in this time range.
    I am getting a new SQL server soon so I will see for sure but I dont think that is the issue.
    No matter what I do I cant recreate this in debug mode to step thru the code and find exactly what line is causing the issue. My SQL performance logs shows no issues at these times. (it is under heavy load hence the new one but nothing different during this time frame)
    I also ruled out computer issues because it did the same thing in the production environment on my pc too.
    Anyone got any ideas?

    Darn.. I wish someone had come up with an answer. We're experiencing a similar issue. As soon as we create a ReportDocument object and attempt to load a report, we receive an error. But not always! Most of the time, it works fine... then suddenly someone gets the error.
    Code:
    ReportDocument rptDocument = new ReportDocument();
    rptDocument.Load(...path to report...);
    Error:
    Load report failed.
    CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
    The system cannot find the path specified.
      at
    CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper.EnsureDocumentIsOpened()
      at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename,
    OpenReportMethod.openMethod, Int16 parentJob)
      at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename)
    I have so far been unable to replicate the error in development... it only seems to happen in production. Guess we'll have to try to log the error as soon as it happens.. maybe the path to the report is getting messed up somehow.
    If anyone has any ideas why it would only happen occasionally, please let me know! Thanks.

  • P2 report SQL using P1 report columns

    Hi,
    I have a page1 (P1) report table with 3 columns COL1, COL2 and COL3.
    COL1 has 3 rows with values 'A', 'B' and 'C'
    I'd like to produce a report table on P2 from a SQL query using the values (not the column name) from P1 COL1 like:
    select * from TABLE where (COL1='A', COL1='B, COL1='C');
    but get the values for A, B and C from the P1 report.
    Any ideas? Is it even possible?
    Cheers,
    Dave

    Hi,
    You can edit your previous post - there's an icon top-right above the post - just make sure you leave the blurb that says you've edited it.
    The only way to get the values from an entire column would be to use an IN clause in your P2's query but you would have to the WHERE clause of P1's sql to get this.
    For example, assuming P1's statement is:
    SELECT COL1, COL2, COL3
    FROM MYTABLE1
    WHERE X = :P1_FILTER
    Your P2 statement would be:
    SELECT COLX, COLY, COLZ
    FROM MYTABLE2
    WHERE COLX IN (SELECT COL1 FROM MYTABLE1 WHERE X = :P1_FILTER)
    AND COLY IN (SELECT COL2 FROM MYTABLE1 WHERE X = :P1_FILTER)
    AND COLZ IN (SELECT COL3 FROM MYTABLE1 WHERE X = :P1_FILTER)
    There are other possible WHERE clause but the principle would be the same
