Exception Messages Report / List

I have been unable to locate an exception messages report, either for production orders, requisitions, or purchase orders. I am looking for a report that will contain all of the exception mesages.
Ideally, the output would be something like:
1.   WBS element (project)
2.   Material number
3.   Material Description
4.   Make or buy code
5.   Recd. / Reqd. Quantity (This would be the qty affected by the exception message)
6.   Date (e.g. date on which the material is currently expected to be received)
7.   Purchase order or work order #
8.   Purchase order line #
9.   Purchasing group
10.  MRP Controller
11. Exception message Number
12. Exception message Description
13. Re-Scheduling date
14. Various additional MM fields
I have requested the report, but I am told by my IT group that the exception messages do not reside in any table, so they cannot be retrieved, much less exported to excel, so a list of teh applicable tables/fields would also help.
I assume that this issue has been raised and solved many times, since SAP is not new and my request not unique.
I welcome any suggestions.
Thank you.

HI,
Why dont you try to list the messages in SE91 and by giving the application area.
Thanks & Regards,
Kiran

  • Exception message for PrdOrd and Planned order

    Hi Gurus,
It possible based on prdord and planned ord we need to get the Exception message information. It's there any standard transaction code or any sqvi report?
    Note:
    Exception Message:
    10 - Reschedule in
    20 - cancel
05 - Opening date in the past
26 - Excess in individual segment
Please find this information in MD04 (single order). i am looking for same time multple orders with exception message report.
    Thanks and regards,
    Deethya.B

    Hi
You can use MD06 with refrence to you plant and MRP Controllers. Also you can define your own traffic lights so that based on these you get your exception messages.
    Hope this helps,

  • MRP exception message configuration in SPRO

    Hi all,
Please advise where we can do configuration settings of exception message in SPRO.

Please check the first link of my post. Path and usefull info is mentioned there:
    MRP exception message:
spro -> pp -> mrp -> evaluation -> exception messages -> define & group exception messages.
    Define and Group Exception Messages
In this step, you define the following parameters for exception messages:
Whether exception messages are displayed for particular exception situations
If a particular exception message is not relevant to your company, select the field No exception message. In the planning run, this exception message is then no longer created for this situation.
The priority in which exception messages are to be displayed
If several exception messages exist for one MRP element, you can assign priorities to determine which exception message is to be displayed in the MRP evaluations. The system always displays the exception message with the highest priority directly in the list. The exception message selected with the next highest priority can be displayed in the list by accessing the additional data.
You enter the priority of the exception messages in the field entitled Excep.mssge priority.
You can see the sequence of priorities by selecting the possible entries pushbutton on the input field. Thus, you can gain an overview of the previous sequence of the exception messages. The exception messages with the higher number also has higher priority.
How exception messages are grouped to exception groups
For the collective display of the MRP list and the stock/requirements list, as well as for all material lists created as a result of the single-item, multi-level planning run, exception messages are grouped into exception groups. In the standard system, a grouping exists that you can change, if necessary, in the field entitled Selection group. You can adapt the long text of the exception group in the step Check Exception Group Texts.
Depending on which exception messages MRP lists are created
In the initial screen of the planning run as well as in in the MRP group, you can define that the system is only to create an MRP list if certain exceptional situations exist (creation indicator "Create MRP list - depending on exception messages"). The exception messages that lead to the creation of the MRP list are selected in the field entitled Create MRP list.
    Actions
    1. Define whether the exception message is set.
    2. Define the priority of the exception message.
    3. If necessary, change the exception groups.
    4. If necessary, select the exception for the creation of the MRP lists depending on the exception messages.

  • Is there a report to track the exception messages after a MRP run ?

We have a scenario at our client site where MRP run is not optimized to the fullest.
The planners are not trained on how to interpret those exception messages.
They are not trained on how to reschedule / expedite planned orders resulting from an MRP run.
Is there a report out in SAP that keeps track of
    1) History of number of exception messages by type ( Expedite/Reschedule/Cancel)
    2) History of number of exception messages that were acted on or ignored by the planner.
This is to create metrics on the usage of MRP exception reports by planners.
    Appreciate your inputs..

    Hi
The exception messages are dynamic and time dependant. You cannot have history of exception message.. If your user is feeling difficult to use standard MRP reports. Create a new report using a function module MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API
It gives all MRP data including exception messages.

  • When i run report through OC4J Application i get a exception message

When i run report through OC4J Application i get a exception message saying Server returning invalid xml and the exception number is JBO -29000. The Reports Server is installed on machine having IP 10.191.99.254.
    Below is the exception message:
(oracle.jbo.JboException) JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.io.IOException, msg=Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://10.191.99.254:8888/reports/rwservlet/showjobidnull
Anybody Please help me out with this issue.....because I am really fed up with this problem....want some urgent help.....
One possible workaround which I could make out is there needs change to be made in the .rdf files in Report Builder and then inside the User Parameters we change the Initial Value to * from % because the Reports Server encodes every value as %Initial_Value% and hence if the initial value for the parameter is % then it does not get a valid value and hence it returns as an invalid xml
But unfortunately it seems this workaround does not work. Please help as soon as possible.

    Hi,
you said that some changes were made in the .xml files but i had said that all the files present in Reports Developer or Reports Builder are .rdf files and I had made changes in the .rdf files for this articular report and then compiled it thereitself and then ran a paper layout of the report but the report did not comprise any data.
There was sufficient data also to populate the report. So this may not be a database issue. Please help if you can ASAP.

  • Different Exception messages in MRP list & Stock Requirement List

    Hello Experts,
When I run MRP and then look at the stock Requirement List & MRP list for the same material, I see different exception messages in these list.
I noticed that any of the exception messages in Exception group "7 - Exception during rescheduling" (ie, 10-reschedule in; 15-Reschedule Out; 20-cancel process; 30-plan process according to schedule) is not appearing in the stock requirement list even though they appear in the MRP list.
Does any configuration affect what message group can appear in Stock Requirement List & MRP list?
    Please advice.
    Regards
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
For exception message - 62, just do the below checks -
Some of the reasons as to why you may find this exception message is because the backward scheduling can drive the start date in the past so far that:
    - there is no valid BOM as of that date
    - one or more of the work centers are not valid on that date
    - there is no valid factory calendar on that date
Check the scheduling formulas in your work centers that are set up, and/or to specify for the material master a fixed lot or a max lot size so that planned orders result with realistic lot sizes.
Also you can set up MRP to only run on basic dates for your overall run, and to follow up with an MRP run which generates capacity planning only within the planning horizon, such as NETPL.  You would need to configure the planning horizon so that it specifies a time frame over which capacity planning is to be done.
Also check the note : 88505 - Planned order upload generates exception message 62
In short, do a thorough check of the parameters maintained to ensure there is no inconsistency in the master data.
    Check & revert.

    Vivek

  • Issue in MD04 transaction with exception message 26

    Dear All,
    I am facing 2 issues:
    1) Even if the sales order line is confirmed and fulfilled, we are getting the stock for that material against the same sales order in the MMBE Transaction.
    2) For the above material present in those sales Order which are confirmed and fulfilled, We are getting the entries for that material in Transaction MD04 ( Stock requirement list of the material after we run the MRP for a particular materia) with the exception message 26.
From our end, we have used the report sdrqcr21 which delete the wrong entries from "VBBE" so that MD04 will show incorrect entries but this approach is not helping us in the above situation.
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Rakesh,
This is one issue.  There is nothing wrong with the software, this is standard behavior. You have built or procured more stock than was required by the sales order.  The remaining unnecessary stock is now sitting in inventory, and is displayed in MD04 under the Sales order segment.  This stock can never be used again within SAP, unless someone re-opens the sales order or performs some transaction to remove the stock from being 'Sales order on hand' stock.
Some companies will scrap this material, using their standard scrapping policies.  Others will transfer this un-usable E stock to general stock, if it can actually be reused.

  • What table are Exception Messages in MRP stored?

The requirement is to develop an error report from an MRP run to capture the exception messages along with the selection groups.
Ex:Selection Gr 2; Exception Message 15: Reschedules In.
I am unable to track where exactly the exception messages are stored after an MRP run. Any suggestions as to how to go about this requirement.
    Thank You.

You can basically get a list of all tables MD06 (colelctive MRP list) uses to fetch data. GO to tran se30. Under Measurement restrictions click new and in Duration/Type tab select none. Go back to se30 main screen enter tran MD06 and execute. It will take you to MD06, run it with any material and go back to se30 screen. At the botton select evaluate and on the evaluation screen select "Data base hit list" or F6. That will give a list of all tables accessed by MD06. SO basically you will know all the tables that were filled during last MRP run.

  • Transaction code to display exception messages by material and plant

    Hi,
Is there a transaction code or standard report in SAP  to display exception messages by material and plant? I see the exception messages by individual material and plant in MD04 but I need to see a collective view. I tried Collective access in MD04 and MD46 but they are not giving me exception groups but I need exceptions listed out by material and plant.
    Thanks.

    Visu,
I have never seen such a report.
MD06 does support fine tuning the output display, once the list has been generated.  If you use this feature, the resulting display is the entire list as created by selecting the initial parameters (such as exception group), but with the specific items that contain your selected message highlighted.  If you are addressing the messages interactively, you can select the review (glasses)  screens, and scroll through just the ones which contain your  selected exception message(s).
To try this, execute MD06.  Select the groups as necessary.  Execute.  Wait for the list.  Now, immediately, select 'search' (binoculars).  Experiment with the output.
As mentioned in the previous post, if MD06 does not meet your needs, you will need to have a custom report written.

  • How to get only current exception message from tables

    Hi
In my sceanario , I want to have the list of Current MRP exception messages list from table
I understand that MRP detailed lists, including all exception messages, are stored in transparent table MDKP and cluster table MDTC.
I can tell ABAPer to write a report for me , to read the data from these tables , but I guess these tables contain old exception message also , which are not currently appearing in MRP list
How to get only current exception message
    Rgds,
    sandeep

    Sandeep,
MDTC contains only data from the most recent MRP run.  So, all messages you see are those which are currently valid.
The messages might have first appeared during a previous run, but they still need to be addressed.
Before you invest a lot of time and effort into writing and debugging a custom report, you should probably try to use the standard SAP functionality found in MD06.  On the Processing indicator tab, you can select "Only with new exceptions".  Here you can tag a material/plant as 'processed', and thereafter, the exceptions that existed there before you tagged the part will not be re-displayed.
    Best Regards,
    DB49

  • MRP Exception Message Number

I need to write an ABAP report which uses the details on the MD04 Stock Requirements List detail screen for those items which have an Exception Message number (10, 20,30 etc..). The screen shows this data is held in a structure called MDEZ. I have tried performance tracing and ABAP debugging but can't find the actual database table where this data is held.(I'm a newbie).
Can anyone help with the relevant table name or appropriate function module?

    Check form AUFBEREITUNG_ANZEIGE in main program SAPMM61R, include  MM61RF40 in particular - forms aufbauen_mdpsx & mdezx_aufbauen.
They use 2 FMs to retrieve data, but these FMs require proper values to be passed in... so check all code in the form AUFBEREITUNG_ANZEIGE.
As an option - you may try to call this form like
perform AUFBEREITUNG_ANZEIGE(SAPMM61R). and then use field symbol, to access MDEZX.
    assign ('(SAPMM61R)MDEZX[]')       to <fs_mdezx>.
    I hope this helps.

  • Material/Location specific exception messages of MD04

    Hi,
Any pointers to get a report of all exception message in for specific material, plant combinations so that those can be targeted for correction .
i.e. In MD04 for a material at location we can see the exception messages ,do we have any table or report to get a consolidated messages so that one need not to load each and every product in MD04 .
I am not looking for a MD06 or table of standard list of MRP messages.

    Hi,
Your question is not clear; MD04 is a dynamic report, meaning that it's content cannot be read from a database table (at least not all of it).
The static alternative (in my opinion even better for exeption massages) is the MD05 MRP list. It exists in the database, and so can be read and processed in the way that you want.
By the way, both have also BAPIs to be used.
So, what is that you are in need of?

  • Table of mrp exception messages

    Dear guru ,
which is the table where i can find the exception messages of mrp for every material ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Jesus & Cris,
MRP detailed lists, including all exception messages, are stored in transparent table MDKP and cluster table MDTC.
Unfortunately gentlemen, the data in MDTC is not directly readable by a simple query.  MD06 is usually used to create lists of specific exceptions.  If this transaction is not suitable for your needs, an ABAPer could write a report for you, as suggested by Rupesh in the earlier post.
