Exception when  XML InputStream is parsed with DOMParser

iam trying to parse the xml inputstream two times.
second time i used reset() method to reset the inputstream but
its throwing exception.
"java.io.IOException: mark/reset not supported
     at java.io.InputStream.reset(InputStream.java:329)"
i need to solve it as early as possible...
thanks in advance...
dando

Sorry, I forgot to mention this, from the InputStream javadoc on reset()
"The method reset for class InputStream does nothing and always throws an IOException"
This means that if you need to reset your stream, it's best that you use one of these:
Direct Known Subclasses:
AudioInputStream, ByteArrayInputStream, FileInputStream, FilterInputStream, InputStream (CORBA), ObjectInputStream, PipedInputStream, SequenceInputStream, StringBufferInputStream
or some other subclass.

  • ? is shown for Norwegian characters when XML document is parsed using DOM

    Hi,
    I've a sample program that creates a XML document with a single element book having Norwegian characters. Encoding is UTF-8. When i parse the XML document and try to access the value of that element then ? are shown for Norwegian characters. XML document file name is "Sample.xml"

    readFile() - Reads the Sample.xml file
    When i run this program XML editor shows the characters correctly but Java code output is: Á á ? ? ä É é ?
    What's the problematic area in my java code. I didn't get any help from any source. Please suggest me the solution of this problem.
    Thanx in advance.

    Hi,
    I'm using JBuilder 2005 and i mentioned encoding UTF-8 for saving Java source files and also for compilation. I've modified my source code also. But the problem persists. After applying changing the dumped sample.xml file doesn't display these characters correctly in IE, but earlier it was displaying it correctly at IE.
    Modified code is:
    DocumentBuilderFactory dbfac = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
                DocumentBuilder docBuilder = dbfac.newDocumentBuilder();
                Document doc = docBuilder.newDocument();
                Element root = doc.createElement("root");
                root.setAttribute("value", "Á á Ą ą ä É é Ę");
                doc.appendChild(root);
                OutputFormat output = new OutputFormat(doc, "UTF-8", true);
                java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream();
                OutputStreamWriter osw = new OutputStreamWriter(baos, "UTF-8");
                XMLSerializer s = new XMLSerializer(osw, output);
                s.asDOMSerializer();
                s.serialize(doc);
                writeToFile("Sample5.xml", baos.toByteArray());
                InputSource o = new InputSource(new java.io.ByteArrayInputStream(readFile("Sample5.xml")));
                o.setEncoding("UTF-8");
                com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.DOMParser obj_parser = new com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.DOMParser();
                obj_parser.parse(o);
                Document obj_doc = obj_parser.getDocument();
                System.out.println("Value : " + new String(((Element) obj_doc.getElementsByTagName("root").item(0)).getAttribute("value").getBytes()));I'm hanged on this issue. Can u please provide me the code snippet that works with these characters or suggest solution.
    Thanx

    The question marks really make it difficult to determine exactly what the issue is.
    Is there a way to perform a trace or to determine what is going on? Our third party provider has already confirmed that the authorization they provided is correct and is working.
    Thanks!

    Yes you can run a profiler trace on the SQL Server and include the "User Error Message" event under "Errors and Warnings".  This will show you the error message that SQL Server is sending to the client.
    When you get it, post it here because this is might be a bug in our JDBC driver that it does not turn that error into a sensible com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException.

  • Class Cast Exception when Rich Table is typecasted with Rowset

    The following line throws a Class Cast Exception
    if(RowCountHelper.containsNoRows((RowSet)getAddMembersTable()))
    The above piece of code has been working since long & it started throwing the class cast exception recently.
    Not sure how the line of code has been working all these days & why it is suddenly erroring out.
    Should I have to replace the above line with following?
    DCIteratorBinding iter = ADFUtils.findIterator("NewGroupSpaceMemberVOIterator");
    RowSetIterator rowIt = iter.getRowSetIterator();
    if(RowCountHelper.containsNoRows((rowIt.getRowSet())){                }
    Please suggest.

    The following line throws a Class Cast Exception
    if(RowCountHelper.containsNoRows((RowSet)getAddMembersTable()))
    The above piece of code has been workingOnly if (a) the return type of getAddMembersTable() has changed or (b) it has never been executed before.
    Should I have to replace the above line with following?Without knowing the return type of getAddMembersTable() it is impossible for anybody to answer that.
    Please suggest.I suggest you don't ask pointless questions here that nobody but you can answer.

  • Exception when request http document?

    Hello,
    I've successfully started weblogic server 5.1 and replace the default
    index.html document to another index.html in public_html directory.
    However, everytime I tried to request an index.html by typing http://ip:7001
    or http://ip:7001/index.html it still display the weblogic 5.1 server page
    and have the following exception:

    I'm sure I've replaced the document. If I rename my document to another
    name like test.html and request it as http://ip:7001/test.html. It works
    fine. Why do I have problem if I replace the index.html (I've never changed
    any default setting in weblogic.properties)?
    Thanks so much!

    myhrem, I've just come across exactly the same problem after amemding my schema. Fortunatley I hadn't changed much so it was possible to find out what caused the error. It is the empty enumeration element where value is equal to "" that causes xjc to throw the error.
    I don't know if its right or wrong, in my case I was able to remove the empty element from the xsd.

  • Attempt to process file failed with Exception in XML Parser-format problem

    Hi all,
    Iam getting an unusual error in the J2EE stack in XI.
    And the message is:
    006-11-30 17:31:07 Error Attempt to process file failed with Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.NestedSAXParserException: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: Invalid char #0xf(:main:, row:1, col:1044002)(:main:, row=1, col=1044002) -> com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: Invalid char #0xf(:main:, row:1, col:1044002)' 2006-11-30 17:31:07 Error Exception caught by adapter framework: null 2006-11-30 17:31:07 Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: RecoverableException.
    My scenerio iam posting IDOC to a flat file with content conversion in the receiver side,the mapping got executed successfully and in the audit log i found that the error was after the 'Start converting XML document content to plain text'.
    This means that error occured during content conversion of XML to the prescribed file format.
    Can anyone suggest any better approach using which we may trace the junk data in IDoc. Manual adhoc approach could take time and is error prone.
    Thanks in advance...
    karun

    Hi Bhavesh,
    Thanks for the early reply. I checked the mapping and everything is fine and the output is also in valid XML format.
    The audit log shows that the mapping got executed successfully and the error is after the step 'Start converting XML document content to plain text '. Is there any constraint in the file adapter regarding the message size for parsing.

  • ClassNotFoundException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.DOMParser when deploying ear

    I'm trying to deploy my disconnected-admin.ear (ADF faces web application) file. I kept getting ClassNotFoundError. In my ear file, I have a war file, I added the xmlparserv2.jar (which contains the class) to the war file's WEB-INF/lib folder. But I still get the same error. I also tried to copy the jar file to WLS_HOME/servers/lib folder, no luck there either. I have read a few other threads, and it's not recommended to add the jar file to the classpath. What else can I do?
    Thanks,
    Jing

    first thanks for your reply,
    i already figured that out and deployed it using 10.1.3.1 jars
    my question
    1) if it is a bug , how come it works fine with jdeveloper (
    i would appreciate if you could provide any info about it.
    2) i dont want to sound sarcastic , but 10.1.3.1 has of optimistic locking and the recommended solution i found was to use descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateCallCacheSize(0);
    looks like 10.1.3.1 fixed one bug and introduced other one which was working fine earlier...
    is there any other way of fixing optimistic locking issue other than using the
    descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateCallCacheSize(0);
    where i can find the latest/greatest (up to date patched version of toplink)
    thanks again for your help

    Any ideas, why this error we are getting.....
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Vasu

    Hi Vasu,
    Not in the Mapping of IR.
    In BIC Mapping Designer you have to test with the standard Mappings by providing the sample file whether the Conversion is happening correctly or not.
    You have to take the same input file that what ever you are having now.
    So that it will say clearly what is the problem in converting the XMLto the required EDI Format...
    Check whether you have any Date Format Values are comming from the input file.

  • Parse rdf with DOMparser

    Since rdf is an xml language I thought it was possible to retreive elements from an rdf file via DOM. It does not seem to work though.
    Does anybody know this for a fact?
    This is part of my Javacode:
    DOMParser parser;
    XMLDocument rdf;
    parser = new DOMParser();
    parser.setPreserveWhitespace(true);
    try
    URL rdfURL = new URL("http://knuff.it.volvo.se/~xml/xmlxjobb/Avdelningtest.xml");
    parser.parse(rdfURL);
    rdf = parser.getDocument();
    NodeList myNodeList = rdf.getElementsByTagName("vitinf:departmentNumber");
    int i = myNodeList.getLength();
    for (int a = 1; a <= i; a++)
    Node myNode = myNodeList.item(a-1);
    System.out.println("");
    System.out.println("Lets show the nodename");
    System.out.println(myNode.getNodeName());
    System.out.println("Lets show the departmentnumber");
    System.out.println(myNode.getFirstChild().getNodeValue());
    When doing the same thing but replacing the URL with one to a "normal" xml-file without namespaces and removing the vitinf-namespace tag in front of departmentNumber,it works perfectly well.
    Thanks
    //Camilla

    sorry i should have been more specific. yeah i know all about xml parsers and my idea was just to read in the text file using java and if the string location is read in for example then just to output the rdf tag location in the rdf file. ive done this before but complications arose when validating it etc, just thought there might be a library like Jena to do it properly for me.

  • Oracle9i: Difference between oraxml and oracle.xml.parser.v2.DOMParser?

    I have parsed the following xml document with the oraxml batch
    and with the sample '..\xdk\demo\java\parser\dom\DOMSample' and
    observed a diffent behavior in Oracle9i:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    <Document xmlns:n1='urn:example:some-names'
    xmlns:n2='urn:example:some-names'>
    <BadAttrs_XML_1.0 att='1' att='2' />
    <BadAttrs_Namespaces n1:att='1' n2:att='2' />
    <OKAttrs_XML_1.0 att='1' n2:att='2' />
    </Document>
    ----------------------------1.) oraxml
    C:\oracle\ora9011\xdk\demo\java\parser\dom>oraxml -version
    -warning Namespaces2.xml
    Parser version: Oracle XDK Java 9.0.1.0.0 Production
    The input XML file is parsed without errors using partial
    validation mode
    Oraxml does not recognize the two attributes with the same name
    in element 'BadAttrs_XML_1.0' as an error.
    2.) oracle.xml.parser.v2.DOMParser
    C:\oracle\ora9011\xdk\demo\java\parser\dom>java DOMSample
    Namespaces2.xml
    file:Namespaces2.xml<Line 8, Column 38>: XML-0124: (Fata
    l Error) An attribute cannot appear more than once in the same
    start tag.
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: An attribute cannot
    appear more than once in the same start tag.
    I have modified the DomSample.java. The DomParser just checks for
    well-formed documents and doesn't validate the document anymore.
    (only a comment before
    parser.setValidationMode(DOMParser.DTD_VALIDATION);)
    My question is:
    Is there really a difference between oracle.xml.parser.v2.oraxml
    and oracle.xml.parser.v2.DOMParser or which parameters do I have
    to use to get the same results?
    With Oracle8i, both report an xml error!!
    (Oracle9i, Win2000, JDK1.3)
    Thanx in advance!
    Markus

    It would appear that there is a difference when a loadjava is given a jar vs. the individual class files. When I load the jar, I get the previously described error, but when I load the individual class files (the same class files that the jar contains) the error goes away.
    Why?

  • Exception in XML Parser

    Hi all,
    I have a file-XI-file scenario.
    In this scenario the Transport Protocol used is FTP.
    The remote sender and the receiver system have Golden FTP server installed.
    The xml file is getting properly picked from the sender system. The format of this file is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <ns:file_mt xmlns:ns="http://namespace4BPM1">
      <file_type>binary</file_type>
      <file_name>input</file_name>
      <file_ext>txt</file_ext>

      <middlename>k</middlename>
      <lastname>gupta</lastname>
      </content_dt>
    </ns:file_mt>
    But the reciever file adapter is giving the following error:
    Receiver Adapter v1027 for Party '', Service 'Receiver_Service':
    Configured at 10:21:05 2006-06-05

    The parameters specified in the receiver adapter are:
    Connect mode: per file transfer
    Transfer mode: Binary
    put file: directly
    file type : binary
    I also tried sending the file after removing the structure 'ns:file_mt', but it gave the structure missing error message.
    Pls if anybody could guide me as to what should be done.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vijay,
    Can you tell us the interface name?
    If it is stuck in FEH (Application Error) in SRM then you can check the detail error by going into tcode /n/sappo/ppo2.
    You need to enter the Business Process, Order Assignment and Mode Of Postprocessing Order and then execute.
    It will show you all the messages stuck in application error for that interface and if you double click on any one of them you will get to see the detailed error with options to Discard, Repeat etc.
    Let us know if this helps you.

    I think I have the problem narrowed down to the handlers accessing the class variable out which is a Writer the emit() method uses to output the document. When I replace out.write in emit() with System.out.println() the code works.
    I've tried accessing other class variables in the handler methods with similar results.
    Anybody encountered similar problems? And what is the solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gary

    I have the same problem, if you find a solution let me know. I've double checked my objects to make sure their not null, I've checked my constructors in the extended default handler, not really sure where else to look, its such a simple program....
