Exchange 11g connector : error with 2003 mailbox databases
Hi,
I have installed the Exchange 11g connector in a OIM 11g R2 server. I successfully ran the "Exchange User Mailbox Database Group Lookup Reconciliation" job and recon-ed a mailbox for a specific user (Exchange 2010 mailbox) account using the "Exchange Target Resource User Reconciliation".
But the fun stops there, when I try the execute the "Exchange Target Resource Delete User Reconciliation" job, I get the following error (see #1) in the result. I don't have any new event in the Event viewer. When I check the connector server I see a similar error (see #2). I tried to manually run the powershell command with the connector server user and it works properly (see #3).
The problem seems to be related the Exchange 2003 mailboxes, since when I try to recon a mailbox for a user with a 2003 mailbox, I get a similar "database not found" error. There again, if I check the same user using the service account, I can get it's mailbox.
Any idea what might be the problem ? Any more debugging I can try ?
Thanks

Migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013 gives error "Failed to communicate with the mailbox database'
I have been trying to migrate several databases from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. The migration started successfully, and many of the mailboxes moved successfully (about 70). The remaining mailboxes, failed. Looking deeper, we found a few issues; The
two 2013 Mailbox servers were on different versions. The Server had run out of disk space, and the NIC drivers needed to be updated.
Now when we try to migrate a mailbox that had failed in the earlier batch, we get the following error:

All of the issues listed above have been corrected, and all of the databases are mounted. Users are able to send and receive mail, but I can not migrate mail using the Migration Batch utility.
The destination server is a Hyper-V Guest running Server 2012, SP1, and Exchange 2013
The Source Server is Running Exchange 2007.
I have tried doing a test move to another destination server that is also Server 2012, and Exchange 2013, and the migration also failed.
I would appreciate any help you can give me!
Thanks,

How to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database
hi every one
my requrirement is to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database with (thin driver)
thanks in advancePrapan,
JDev 11g TP4 comes with 11g JDBC drivers, which do not support connecting to any database v 9.0.1 or earlier.
So, back to you... depends upon what you want to do. If you want to write your own code to connect to a database using 11g, get ahold of some JDBC drivers that support 8i and have away. If you're talking about getting the database development stuff (e.g. the embedded SQLDeveloper) to work, you're probably out of luck.
So, please define "configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database"

[Symptom]
======================
In Exchange 2007, when you want to export mailbox to a .pst file, you should run the
Export-Mailbox cmdlet from a 32-bit computer that has the following installed:
The 32-bit version of the Exchange management tools
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 SP2 or later versions
If not, you may encounter the following error message:
You check that you have these required installed, but you get the error below when you run Export-Mailbox in EMS.
“The specified mailbox database [Mailbox Database Name] does not exist.”
[Cause Analysis]
=======================================
This is because that the account you use to run Export-Mailbox cmdlet don’t have the Exchange Server Administrator role assigned.
You can check if this account has been delegated the Exchange Server Administrator role through the following path.
EMC -> Organization Configuration-> Check permissions in the result pane.
To delegate this Exchange Server Administrator role, right click on the
Organization Configuration node and choose Add Exchange Administrator,
you will see the Add Exchange Administrator window.

Please click to vote if the post helps you. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.Hi,
Based on my test, if you make the user the owner of the database (rather than a user with the db_owner role), when you create a query, it creates it under the dbo schema rather than DOMAIN\username.
Steps to do so (in Management Studio):
Right click database, select Properties
Click File
Change Owner in the textbox
OK to confirm
Downside - other users under db_owner role will still have their username appended. So schemas have to be created for these users.

Error While Removing Mailbox Databases
I'm trying to remove two extra Mailbox databases that we recently migrated users off of during consolidation. However, when I try and remove the DB's I get the following error message:

However, when I try and move or remove these mailboxes, I get an error from EMS stating that they cannot be found.
Any idea what I need to do here to resolve this so I can remove these DB's?
Thanks!!Hi
Suggestion 1: verify mailboxes:
1. In Exchange management shell, run these cmdlets:
Set-ADServerSettings -ViewEntireForest $True
get-mailbox -database "DBname" –arbitration
2. Please verify if arbitration mailbox shows. If yes, please move these mailboxes with this cmdlet:
Get-Mailbox -Database "DBname" -Arbitration|New-MoveRequest -TargetDatabase "DB2Name"
Note: please replace DB2Name with the target database name.
3. Wait for the complete of AD replication, after that, please try to remove database again.
Suggestion 2: If the database still cannot be removed and you have followed the instruction in error message, but nothing returned. It seems the database is empty. So I suggest we use ADSI Edit to remove the database object directly since it no
longer contains any mailboxes.

Intermittent 'Unknown Database Connector' Error with Crystal XI in VFP9 app
We have a VFP9 application which uses Crystal XI as its reporting tool. We use Installshield Express to install the Crystal components by including the merge modules in the setup.
We extract data in the VFP app then write it to the local temporary files folder on the PC running the app. The VFP app then opens the crystal report and changes the database locations (xbase files). We intermittently get an OLE IDispatch exception with Crystal error u201CUnknown Database Connectoru201D. If the user runs exactly the same process again it is likely to be OK. The system had been relatively stable and unfortunately we cannot pinpoint what changed to introduce this problem. Around the same time we did install a new server, upgrade PCs to dual processor and also upgrade to Crystal XI!
If anyone has had a similar problem or has any idea what the problem could be please let me know as our users are becoming frustrated with the system crashes they are encountering.First thing to do is to make sure you have the latest Service Pack. You mention that you are using CR XI, but I don't know if it is CR XI r1 or CR XI r2. Assuming it is r1, the latest SP is here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006008952008E/crXIwin_sp4.zip
If you are using CR XI r2, the latest SP is here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
You will also have to create a new deployment project. MSM for cr xi r1 is here:
http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crXI_rdc_merge_modules.zip
and for CR XI r2 is here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009381702008E/crxir2sp4_rdc_mm.zip
Next, you mention that this is an app upgraded to CR XI, but you do not mention the version of CR you upgraded from. If it is from CR 8.5 or older, we may want to take a look at the code you are using to connect to the database. E.g.; sending the database code used my be a good idea.
Finally, please note that the platforms.txt does not mention VFP as a supported platform. E.g.; VFP was not tested and thus if there are any issues with the RDC, these will have to be duplicated on a supported platform before being submitted for a fix. Also, just for your information, the RDC has been retired in the currently shipping CR 2008.

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error with MS ACCESS database connection
Hello,
I got the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error in the hs_err_pidXXXX.log file.
I am using MS ACCESS and jdbc-odbc bridge to access to it.
The problem is the tomcat server crashes every a couple of hours.
The error log is attached.
I searched this error on line and tried a couple of things that they suggested. But no helps.
I tried increasing the heap size, and change the Java option to -Xint.
But all no help.
Would you take a look at the log file and suggest anythings?
Thank you!!!

1. Get another driver. The only one known is java only so it wont crash. But is not not free.
2. Use a proxy driver. That means that another app actually does the database work. If it crashes you just start it again (which you can do in your main code.) That way it won't take down your server. There are commercial jdbc drivers that claim MS Access but are are really just proxy implementations as an option in this area. -

IOS 4.3.1 + Exchange 2010 "was" fine with the mailbox on Ex2007 server
Hi,
i had used my iphone with ios 4.3.1 and active sync.
The mailbox was hosted on the old exchange 2007 server.
A new exchange 2010 server was running the last 4 weeks and the iphone was connection with activesync against the new exchange 2010 through local wlan and over internet.
After i moved my profile to the new server i can´t connect anymore to the new server!
Any idea what happend? It was working fine the last weeks with my mail account sitting on exchange 2007.
Today i moved several mailboxes from exchange 2007 to 2010 SP1.
I have some domain accounts that are created new and had their mailbox created on the exchange 2010 sp1 system.
With these accounts i can connect and retrieve mails.
But with my account (moved from 2007 to 2010) i can´t.
All i get is a blank mailbox on my iphone.
I even removed the mail account from my iphone and recreated the account.
But it won´t retrieve mails.
I refresh the offline addressbook at the exchange 2010 but nothing will help.

11g R2 Error with iplanet recon

We created a new resource object for the ldap server as the default gave us isssues after creating an app instance. The proviisoning is working fine with new RO and app instance. Howevwe, with the recon we are seeing issues.
I dont see a recon table RA_*** in the DB for the new iplanet resource object. I tried creating the recon profile and it says it was created successfully and no errors in the log as well.
Thanks,
Mhave you created new Resource object manually using Design console?
However you can use the existing RO instead of new one just create new appinstance .It won't allow you to create new app with same combination of RO+IT RESOURCE+FORM if already exist.
So, just create one IT resource and use the old RO+FORM and you will be in good position to create appinstance.
Even if you doubt on the previous form just create copy.

Hi,
I have DAG enabled Exchange Server 2010 installed with three mailbox databases having sizes 282GB,162GB and 129GB respectively. I have started with a total of 250GB in 2010 and now it has reached a size more than 650GB.
It has become very difficult to take the backup of such huge database files now and restoring it in case of a DR.
Presently I have not enabled online archiving in any of these mailboxes mainly because most of the PCs are installed with outlook 2007 which doesn't show online archive.Of course OWA is another candidate to see those mails.
Please suggest a best practice to reduce the size of these mailbox databases without losing any of the mails.
Thanks
ThomasAs mentioned above, Exchange database files do not shrink.
If you do a defrag, then since you have copies of this DB in the DAG then you have to reseed. take a look at this

Now when removing the original database I get the following error:
Please provide specific details.
The following was done thus far:

this is not the default mailbox database
Suspended the second mail server and removed it from mailbox, leaving now just one mail server attached to the mailbox database.
HelpTry to check mailbox import request is there or no by this command. Get-MailboxImportRequest. If you can see any requests listed. Remove it by this command Get-MailboxImportRequest | Remove-MailboxImportRequest.
Thanks, MAS
