Exchange 2013 Public Folders Array Dimensions Have Exceeded Supported Range

Hello,
I have another odd issue for public folders on Exchange 2013. I am working with an environment with a bit over 3000 Public Folders and we are having some issues where some users are not able to access the public folder. When I try to change the permissions
to those folders I get the error of:
"Array Dimensions Have Exceeded Supported Range"
The environment is a 2 Node DAG with all components installed on each server. The latest Roll Up has been in stalled on both servers as well.
Thanks in Advance
Joe

Update the thread if you find the resolution...
Cheers,

  • Migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 Public Folders coexistence

    Hi all, I'm migrating from Exchange 2007 SP3 to Exchange 2013 SP1.
I have an Exchange 2007 server (Client Access, Hub Transport and Mailbox Server) in Site A, mailboxes and Publics Folders
In another Site in Site B, I have already installed (Client Access and Mailbox Server) Exchange 2013 server.
I am migrating test users, the fact is that users who migrated to Exchange Server 2013 Public folders do not see.
How I can make the migrated users from viewing the Exchange 2007 Public Folders duration coexistence?
Is there a "how to" to migrate Public Folders from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013?
    thank you very much
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator

    Hi,
In Exchange 2013, the Public Folder is changed to Public Folder mailbox instead of Public Folder in Exchange 2007 database.
Due to the changes in how public folders are stored, legacy Exchange mailboxes are unable to access the public folder hierarchy on Exchange 2013 servers. However, user mailboxes on Exchange 2013 servers or Exchange Online can connect to legacy
public folders. Exchange 2013 public folders and legacy public folders can’t exist in your Exchange organization simultaneously. This effectively means that
    there’s no coexistence between versions.
For this reason, it’s recommended that prior to migrating your public folders, you should
first migrate your all legacy mailboxes to Exchange 2013. For more information about migrating public folder from previous versions, please refer to:

  • Unable to Manage custom forms in Exchange 2013 Public Folders or Organizational Forms Library

We've been doing custom forms development for many years and many versions of Exchange.  This Exchange 2013 presented me with this new problem.  We use Exchange 2013 with Cumulative Update 5, and Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013.  This problem
happens on all versions of the latest patched Outlooks.
    1) I have successfully created a Public Folder and an Organizational Forms Library
    2) I have granted myself "Owner" privilege to the entire public folder in both the IPM_Subtree and the Non_IPM_Subtree
    3) I can publish forms into a Public Folder and the Organizational Forms Library
But, after the form is published, I can't manage it.  The COPY, UPDATE, DELETE, PROPERTIES, and SAVE AS buttons are greyed out.
This does not happen for anything in my Personal Forms, my Mailbox or anything in Favorites that are locally cached.
Since the Organizational Forms Library cannot be "Cached" by putting it in Favorites, there seems to be NO way to even delete a form that is published to there.
The closest link that describes a similar (maybe same) problem is
    http://www.michev.info/Blog/Post/14/Unable-to-manage-Forms-in-Outlook
    A) Anybody else have the same problem?
    B) Since it seems I only have control over forms in my Mailbox, and since Public Folders are suppose to be an mailbox, does anyone know how to setup a Public Folder so that you can login to it and attach it as a mailbox?
    C) Does anyone know how to make the Organizational Forms Library cached locally so it can be managed?
    J Awe TechBldrs Inc. www.TechBldrs.com

Easy steps to reproduce the problem.
    1) create a public folder subfolder (do not create a Favorite)
    2) make yourself and OWNER
    3) publish a form to the subfolder (Open a any form and save it with any name)
    4) use the Form Manager select the public folder subfolder that you are an OWNER of
    5) select a form and see if the buttons are GRAYED out.
PLEASE TRY THIS ON YOUR OWN SYSTEMS TO VERIFY THE PROBLEM.

  • Exchange 2013 public folders are sending read receipts for items viewed in public folders

We have Exchange 2013 with public folders.  These public folders are used for a large amount of shared contacts.  When a user goes into the public folders and double clicks on a contact to view it, Exchange dispatches a read receipt to all users
that are configured as publishing editors to notify them that a certain contact was read.  How do I disable this option?

    hi again dear.. :)
"At first, I would like to say the
read Receipt is not sent out by the device, it is sent out by the Exchange server. This is how it works and what happens:
    1.
    E-mail with request for send
    receipt is received on the Exchange server;
    2.
E-mail is synchronized with Windows Mobile based device using Exchange
    ActiveSync;
    3.
    When e-mail is
    read on Windows Mobile based device the read status is synchronized back to the Exchange server;
    4.
The Exchange server creates and sends out the
    Read Receipt when receiving the Read status update from the device;
The above is how this is implemented and there is no functionality which allows preventing this from occurring on the Mobile device.
It seems that there is an alternative method to disable RR using transport rules. However, it will at the risk of the filtering out other messages
    with the same subject.
Towards the third party mobile clients that support RR and DR, you might consider using Flexmail 4.11. It’s impossible to deactivate ActiveSync
    RRs in Exchange server 2007/2010."
    also
One way to stop read receipts being triggered through client side configuration on the mobile is to use the option "Don't Mark Read on server".
I have tested this successfully using this option in the TouchDown mail client on Android.
Not sure if the standard or other mail clients do support this option, TouchDown certainly does and it works.
The side effect obviously is, that the read status isn't synced back to Exchange anymore:"
hope now i r clear... one way or the other... you need to send a feed back or define a transport rule... but that again may create problem with the same subject :)

  • Exchange 2013 public folders auditing

I am interested in finding out when last time public folder was accessed and by who.
If it is possible also when item (document for example) was last time accessed and by who.
I have found article about ex 2007
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee221156(EXCHG.80).aspx
All I have found regarding to Ex 2013 that mailbox auditing for PF do not work.
“Does mailbox audit logging work against public folders?
    No. Not at this time.”
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj552408(v=exchg.150).aspx
Do such auting exist in ex 2013 as in ex 2007?
    Thakns!
    Przemek

    Hi,
In Exchange 2007, we can use the Get-PublicFolderStatistics | fl cmdlet to retrieve the LastAccessTime. But in Exchange 2013, we can't get the LastAccessTime when we run the Get-PublicFolderStatistics | fl command.
And I'm afraid there is no way to monitor the time item is accessed in public folders.
Here is a similar thread for your reference.

  • Exchange 2013 Public folders unavailable intermittedly using MAPI HTTP

We have a problem with Public folders not being available both in Outlook 2013 and OWA.Any ideas in troubleshooting the issue will be appreciated.Thanks.

    Hi,
Is there any error message when you try to access public folders in Outlook 2013?
If there is, please post here for further analysis.
In Exchange 2013 CU1, the ability to open public folders in OWA is added. You need to add public folders from Favorites.
Please use the get-mailbox | fl defaultpublicfoldermailbox to check the default public folder mailbox in Exchange 2013.
Please navigate to the following path to check the msExchHomePublicMDB attribute if the value is not set.
    Open ADSI Edit -> Configuration -> CN=Configuration, DC=domain, DC=com -> CN=Services -> CN=Microsoft Exchange -> CN=<Organization Name> -> CN=Administrative Groups -> CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) -> CN=Databases
-> Select the mailbox database and right click on it, choose Properties.

  • Exchange 2013 Public Folders Contents missing

Greetings! We have recently, the last 45 days, migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013.  Last week, Wednesday evening, while moving Appassure backups from one repository to another our Public Folders went south after a required system reboot.
I can still see the folder structure and subfolders from both a command line and from Outlook, but I cannot see the actual contents of a contact list, a calendar, or a folder mail items.  Instead everyone gets a message telling them "There are no
items to show in this view."  while a constant search is being preformed.
Using the command Get-PublicFolderStatistics I get the IPM_SUBTREE Item count as Zero.  Yet when I preform the command Get-Mailbox -PublicFolder | FL Name,ExchangeGuid I get the name : PFMBX01 with an ExchangeGuid of c5d6cc8f-f406-41aa-a1ad-2a5f6b757deb.
We have backups on the old backup Appassure server, but I cannot locate anything resembling PFMBX01.  I need to find a way to locate those items either on the server or on the backups.  Last week was of course Microsoft Tuesday.  Is it possible
that an update could have caused the contents of the mailboxes to disappear?
    Peskieskie

    Hi
    peskieskie,
What do you mean that public folder mailbox is disconnected?
Could you please run the Get-Mailbox –Identity | fl *public* cmdlet and check if the value of DefaultPublicFolderMailbox parameter is set?

If I try to access public folders with cache enabled, I get this error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2788136
I have tried deleting all public folders, public folder databases, and the related mailbox database. And creating all again, however
    with same result.

I can't access the public folders at all. Trying to access the public folders, result in the error from the following page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2788136,
    or "Cannot expand the folder..."
It is affecting all users using this Exchange-server. I am actually having this error on two different Exchange-serverens at two different companies at the moment.
And it is a fresh Exchange 2013 environment in both cases.
PS: I discovered that the public folders works inside the same domain as the Exchange-server, however users can't access the public folders externally.
I also tried to use the Exchange-server as DNS, in order to be able to resolve i.client.local:
    <PublicFolderInformation>
    <SmtpAddress>[email protected]</SmtpAddress>
    </PublicFolderInformation>
however I am still unable to open the public folders, even after being able to resolve the DNS name i.client.local.

  • Exchange 2013 Public Folders implicit permissions

    Hi,
I have fresh Exchange 2013 without SP1. I am testing PF but I discovered strange thing. I create PF with permissions only for two users but the third user can access them and edit without problems, I also trid to modify root folder permissions but
no change. Are there any implicit permissions that allow all users to access anything so they have to denied access explicitly or can I change these implicit permissions? Or am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
    Pete

    Hi,
For this issue, I recommend you use the following command to check the public folder permission for Default user on this PF.
    Get-PublicFolderClientPermission -Identity "\Marketing" | fl
Just replace the "\Marketing" with your PF.
Make sure the public folder permissions for the Default user is set to lowest permissions or None. Default means the default permission. It is what permissions the users have if they don't have any other permissions listed. If it's set to Author or others,
please change it back to None to check the result.
    Best regards,

  • Exchange 2013 Public Folders - Adding another PF mailbox

    Hi,
I'm sure this is obvious, but I've looked and can't find anything.
We're in the process of completing a cross forest migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 on premise. We've migrated PF content (using a third party app) and we're currently at around 90% of the quota for the first PF mailbox (PFMAILBOX1). My question
is, how do we start using the second mailbox (PFMAILBOX2 in this case)? Does it just roll over when it breaches the PF quota?
PFMAILBOX1 has the primary hierarchy and PFMAILBOX2 has secondary - not sure if this makes any difference?
    As usual, any help appreciated.
    Regards
    Steve

    Hello,
You can use New-PublicFolderMoveRequest to move Public Folders to new mailbox (single folder, folder tree etc). For further informations look at:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj878081%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx.
    Hope it helps,

  • Setup a simple sales funnel with exchange 2013 public folders and outlook 2010 -2013

BCM for Outlook is big and has too many choices. What we want is a combination of contacts and tasks within a public folder so we can see what others are doing. If possible I want
to make a connection between an contact and a task. The task should have some extra fields like branches responsible organization members status etc. Does anyone have a simple solution which is easy to implement in a small organization of 10 people?

    Hello,
First of all thank you for your answer. The Outlook version I'm using is 14.0.7113.5005 and the Exchange versuin is CU3. As I'm testing it on XP client it is probably the issue in the PS. I'll try it with Win7 client probably tomorrow. I wonder if there
exists any kind of workaround for XP clients.
    Thank you in advance,
    Peter

  • Migrate Exchange 2003 Public folders and OAB to Office365?

    Hi guys,
I am trying to migrate exchange 2003 public folders to office 365. I have read various documentation however they were either out of date or half-solutions.
The company stored OAB's in each public folder as well, how do I go about migrating these lists into office 365? Will it just "work" if I migrate the public folders across?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi,
If you are migrating from inhouse 2003 to office 365, then the best options for you are-
    1. Either you can go for the manaul process. You can create PST files and can upload them to mailboxes through office 365 account.
Kindly refer the below mentioned link for the same
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2013/05/31/step-by-step-migration-of-exchange-2003-server-to-office-365.aspx
    2. Or you can go for any 3rd party tool using the same you can migrate your public folders to office 365. This is required when you need to avoid the risks associated and need to keep your environment up and running even while migration process. Respond
back for third party tool suggestions.

  • Exchange 2013 Public Folder Calendars in OWA

    Hello,
I have a Public Folder calendar that I need to publish via OWA in Exchange 2013.  I understand that you cannot view any public folder that is not mail enabled in OWA.  If I make this specific calendar mail enabled will I be able to view the calendar
in OWA?  I think I still have to convert this to a shared mailbox.  If that is the case, what are the best steps to perform that?

    Hi,
Yes I agree with Ed Crowley. In Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 1, Microsoft have allowed to display public folders. However, two major restrictions exist. First, OWA can only display modern public folders. In other words, you have to complete your
migration to Exchange 2013 and then execute a public folder migration before OWA can be used. No access is possible to legacy public folders. Second, OWA can only display “mail public folders”, or public folders that contain “mail and post items” (as they
are referred to by Outlook). Other folders (calendars, contacts, tasks, notes, InfoPath, and journal items) are unsupported.

  • Exchange 2013 Public Folder Error

When I try to create a Public Folder in Exchange Admin Center for Exchange Standard 2013 I get an error that says: "The process failed to get the correct properties".   If I create the Public Folder from shell "New-PublicFolder -Name
"Bldg 1 & 2" -Path "\Projects\10000 to 10099"", when I browse to it from Admin Center I receive the same error.
If I try to edit the properties using Admin Center I get a popup that says "error - The process failed to get the correct properties - Click here for help..."
I have attempted this as "administrator" with membership in the following groups:
Schema Admins, Organization Management, Group Policy Creator Owners, Exchange Services, Exchange Domain Servers, Enterprise Admins, Domain Admins, Administrators.

    Hi,
Did we migrate to Exchange 2013 from legacy?
We cannot starting recreating Public Folders on Exchange Server 2013 until all users have been migrated to Exchange Server 2013. For how to migrate from legacy Public Folders to Exchange Server 2013 Public Folders, see
Migrate Public Folders to Exchange 2013 From Previous Versions.
Would you like to collect event logs for the further troubleshooting?
Please contact me if there is any problem.
    Thanks

    Hi Mavis,
Yes, this was an upgrade, but all previous versions of Exchange have been uninstalled.
I'd be more then happy to send any log files in, but I'd need assistance knowing which ones you'd require.
    Thanks,

  • Finalising the migration of Exchange 2003 public folders over to an Exchange 2010 environment

After migrating all the user mailboxes, I set up replicas of the Public Folders which I have been running for several weeks.
Once everything had been replicated, using System Manager on the Exchange 2003 server, I removed the source replica server from the list (aka the Exchange 2003 server).
Is this step sufficient to move the replicas over?
Under the First Storage Group -->Public Folder Store do I need to run the
Move All Replicas command? Will this generate a lot of traffic given that I have ran replication for a number of weeks?
I saw somewhere some Exchange 2010 a similar Powershell command  .\MoveAllReplicas.psl  as well.
I have updated the offline address book, carried out the Address List Conversion and Recipient Polices.
If everything is in order, I am going to run the uninstall on the 2003 server.

After verifying that all the public folders are been replicated, I carried out the following:-
On the Exchange 2003 server under System Mangager > First Storage Group, I issued the command Move All Replicas over the weekend.
When I came back in today I could see the contents of the Public Folders
    are now empty.
However, the Public Folder Instances still appears to have content. Is this normal?
On the Exchange 2010 server I have since issued the MoveAllReplicas.ps1 script to see if this will make any difference.
In addition when browsing the Default Public Folders via EMC, if I attempt to Update Content on any of the Public Folders I get the following error:
Cannot start replication against public folder....
    MapiExceptionNoReplicaAvailable: StartContentReplication failed.
