Exchange Rate Mismatch in Credit Memo CO-PA Document

Hi,
Exchange Rate in Sales Invoice is 23.081211 (from Tcode Ob08)
Exchange Rate in Credit Memo is 23.0812 (maintained manaully)
But Co-PA document is calculated according to the Exchange Rate as 23.081211
Please let me know why Co-Pa Document is calculated according to Sales Invoice Exchange Rate and not Credit Memo Exchange Rate.
Regards,
Debashri Dutta

Hi,
Checked. Its according to the Cancelled Sales Invoice. But CO-PA Document Calculation is according to the Sales Invoice.

Debashri

  • Exchange Rate mismatching

    Hello,
We are facing an exchange rate mismatching between Income Statement and Specification Accounts.
Income Statement accounts are submitted monthly and the exchange rate applied on it is the periodic exchange rate.
On the other hand Specification Accounts are submitted quarterly and the exchange rate applied on it is the periodic cumulated average exchange rate.
The condition between these two kinds of accounts is that after the third month of data submission both Income Statement and Specification Accounts must match, but this is not the case since we are using different exchange rates and data is submitted with a different frequency.
We would like to know what are the options BCS provides for matching these two accounts at the end of every quarter.
    Thanks in advance.
    Diego

    HI Diego,
    Try to use Rounding function.
Create rounding method with rounding type: Selection 1 + Selection 2 = 0
In Selection 1 insert Specification Accounts. In Selection 2 insert Income Statement accounts.
Decide when to post rounding differences: account from Selection 1 or account form Selection 2
Insert this rounding method into currency translation task (egxecuted quartally).
    It should works!
    Hope this help

  • Control Delivery split based on diff in exchange rate (let. of credit)

    Hi Team,
We have a scenarios where the user does nto want split in delivery because of differecne in Exchange rate for line items.
In my case when Letter of credit si assigned to line item.
I understand this as standard behavior that a delivery splits happens based on difference in exchangerate.
My question is to control this split, will it be a right to control it by routine in copy controls routine form order to delivery or we consider the user exit.
So, kindly assit me to solve this or do we have any standard setting by which i can control. this.
    Thanks in advance
    Balaji

    Hi Balaji,
See Note 415716 - User exits in delivery processing, because it tells us how some modification can affect to split documents.
I suggests you to manage it with VOFM subroutine. The idea is that diferent values in LIKP-ZUKRL determintes the split of documents. You can populate until 40 characters, and you manage it with structure ZUK. This concatenation in a string is moved to LIKP-ZUKRL. It works like ZUKRI in spliting of invoice. This VOFM is set in copy rules.

  • Tax Rate Determination in Credit Memos With Ref to Invoices

The requirement in US is that when the customer has changed his address to a different region, from that where the services was supplied (The region in which the customer (ship-to party) was residing when the invoice was raised) and if a credit memo is raised with reference to this invoice, then the taxes applicable on the credit memo for this customer should be the rates applicable for the state where the original invoice was raised. However currently in SAP the new customer address is updated in the billing document (invoice that was raised for the region where the customer had his place of business previously) and hence the original region code in the invoice will not be available and will be overridden with new region code.
    Consider the following example:
1 - Invoice raised on 01-Jan-2010 to a customer whose region is Florida and tax rate is "X %"
2 - On 01-Feb-2010 the customer in Florida changes his place of business to Texas region.
3 - On 01-March-2010 a credit memo is raised with reference to the invoice dated 01-Jan-2010 u2013 On this credit memo the tax rate applicable will be of the region of Texas u2013 Example u201CY%u201D
The requirement is that in the credit memo the system should capture the original region code or there should be a provision to change the region code of the customer (ship-to party) at line item level u2013 so that the tax determined is applicable to the region where the customeru2019s place of business originally existed.
From our side we did check the SAP screen for Creation of contract/Order (VA41/VA01) u2013 However we were unable to find the customer region field in these screens at line item level.
We request you to please look into this at the earliest and let us know what the options that exist for this are.
Please also let us know should you require any clarifications with reference to the above requirement.
    Regards
    Siddharth Sridhar

    Hi Siddharth,
As for the region code that you mentioned, in fact yes, you can change during transaction creation, and Region is coming from the customer master record that you maintained.
You can find it at the Item level --> Partners, but you will not be able to change the Region there.
To change it, double click on the Sold-to Party at Header level, then select Sold-to Party --> Details.. Here you can change the Region accordingly.  It will reflect accordingly at the Item level --> Partners.
Note: This change will not change the central master data maintained for this customer. It will only affect this document.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • A/R - Credit Memo ... document chain

    Hi
    Following procedure:
Sales Order -> Delivery -> A/R Invoice has been done as usual.
Now I want to issue an A/R credit memo and raise a new A/R Invoice with a different amount.
Since all the documents are closed, how do I link the new A/R Invoice to the correct document chain, base it on either one of the documents (Order/Delivery/Invoice/CreditMemo)?
    Thanks
    Franz

    Hi
1)Sales Order -> Delivery -> A/R Invoice has been done as usual.
Then if required Do AR Cr memo with link to AR inv.
    2)Sales Order -> Delivery -> A/R Invoic ->Incomming Payment
Means now AR invoice is closed.
If u want to make Cr memo for this inv.
    -choose same customer
    -put required row level data
Now have to make UDF in Cr.memo and AR inv title level.
In Cr. memo's UDF put AR inv. number for link
same way for AR inv.'s UDF Cr.memo's Number
In this way u can make link.

    Mahesh.

  • F110 - Clearing of Credit Memo and Invoice Document in Customer account

    Hi,
The scenario is, the customer is posted with invoice amount of 3000 and a credit memo of 500. Instead of clearing this manually using f-32 can we use F110 to clear the debit and credit with in a customer account which must create a residual document for the differential (2500)
please advice,  and the steps to be performed to achieve the scenario.
    Best regards
    Abishay

    Hi All,
we have activated Business Function " LOG_MMFI_P2P " and Switch "MM_SFWS_CI_01 - Enhanced Functions in EhP4 for Applications in Materials Management" using Tcode SFW1. And followed all instructions documented when activated Business Function " LOG_MMFI_P2P ". The Busines function is activated to order to clear downpayments at the time of invoice posting in MIRO or MIR7. When I post the invoice in MIRO system is posting 2 indepedent document as below.
    1. Invoice posting,
    Dr GR/IR
    Cr Vendor
    2. Downpayment Recovery
    Dr Vendor
Cr Vendor with SP GL Indicator "C"
My point is, as per the link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/48/b42c22e8603095e10000000a421937/frameset.htm, it says "You can use the Down Payment Clearing function to clear down payments that you have posted with reference to a purchase order without going to the relevant financial accounting transactions, directly in logistics invoice verification."
But, in my case, the system is not clearing the downpayment but instead is just posting a Credit memo account entry with SP GL indicator (refer to th Downpayment Entry).
Please advice if SAP is designed to clear the downpayment in LIV or just to post the downpayment recovery entry.
If advice on any corrections to be applied.

  • Credit memo uses base document total and not balance due?

Using SBO 2007 sp00 pl42 i have the problem that, having an AR invoice with a partial incoming payment, leaves an open balance of the invoice.
Later i use the "copy to" function, to the credit memo, but it uses the whole original amount, and not only the balance due, leaving the credit memo with an open balance equal to that payment value, and closing only the invoice and payment.
In SBO 2005 A sp01 the credit memo was copied with the original amount but it generated a discount matching the partial payment value, and this way automatically reconcile the 3 documents.
you can see the details in this document:

  • Alternate Exchange Rate Type Not Picked while converting from Document Currency to Group Currency

    Hello Gurus,
We have setup an alternate Exchange Rate type MNB for rate M for the postings happening in Hungary. Local currency is HUF. Group currency is USD.
If the document currency is, lets say, EUR, latest MNB rate is correctly picked up (EUR to HUF) and postings are correctly converted into local currency (HUF).
Although, for the same document, when a group currency is being calculated (EUR to USD), exchange rate type M is being picked up. Same happens if  document currency is HUF. Even then, the conversion is based on exchange rate type M.
Is this a normal SAP behavior? How to prevent/correct this? This is also throwing off balances when we check in FAGLB03 or BSEG values in local and group currencies. In OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M and we may not want to make any changes there as it is setup at global level.
Do we need to run any valuations after the fact? if so, how?
Thank you for your inputs in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi,
You mentioned that "in OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M". Then, I'm wondering how MNB is picked up for the first local curr. conversion to HUF? It should be 'M' instead. There must be some settings in your instance for such behavior. Can you check that?
Actually, Group Curr. conversion happens with the rate defined for 2nd Loc.Curr.in OB22 which is 'M' in your case. Therefore, all the transactions are converted with M instead of MNB.
Since you can't change OB22 per global co.policy, the exch.rate defined in OBA7 will overrule OB22. However, you've to make sure it's set up for all doc.types which are affected and posted in different curr. than HUF.
As a workaround, another thought would be to maintain the same conversion rate for both exch.rate types MNB & M, for eg. HUF > USD rate is the same both exch.rate type MNB & M. This way, you ensure all transactions are posted with correct exch.rate irrespective of whatever rate type is used.
From business, & global org. perspective, I'm sure they are sending the 'M' exch.rates to all their sister concerns monthly, so they would like to consolidate results as per standard rate in their system. Then, why ,as a local company, would you like to fiddle with standard process? It's a management decision, please run them through again before going ahead.
    Thanks,
    Nirav

  • Exchange Rate to be picked up from MIGO Document Date

    Dear Friends,
During MIGO for a foreign purchase order the exchange rate is picked up from table OB08 based on the MIGO posting date.Is it possible for it to be picked up based on MIGO document date using exit.We are not using  Material Ledger.
    TIA
    Sathish Kumar

    Dear Sathish,
We have the same issue about MIGO exchange rate.
We can change exchange rate derived from document date in MIRO via to using BADI FI_TRANS_DATE_DERIVE.  But in MIGO we don't know how to change the exchange date from Posting date to Doc date.
We are using Material Ledger, so we can handle the amount of exchange rate diff. Anyway we don't want post the diff from GR and IV exchange rate.

    Thanks all of you.
What is the relevance of refrence number and allocation number in copy control.
    VTFL/VTFA.
i think this also plays an important role in copying the document number from invoice to accounting.
So my question is in order to have accounting document number same as billing document number.
    What are the controls?

  • Internal credit memo generating COPA document

    Hi,
We have created one intercompany billing document(IV) and see that there are no COPA

When intercompagny invoice(IV) is NOT PASSED THROUGH PA, then intercompany return(IG) also
    SHOULD NEITHER PASS THROUGH PA.
Also i found that for Billing document type IV, all the value fields are showing are reset

  • Exchange rate gains/loss  and cash discounts vs document splitting

    Dear all,
I am facing the following problem. My customer wants to do the following:
-Realized and unrealized exchange rate differences regarding accounts receivable has to be booked on the same profit center that the invoices was book on when they were created.
-Realized and unrealized exchange rate differences regarding accounts payable has to be booked on the same profit center that the GR/IR account (offseting entry for accounts payable when receiving material vendor invoice)
-Cash dicounts granted must be booked on the same profit center that the GR/IR-account (when registering the invoice) when doing the payment of vendor invoices in f110.
Could this be received through document splitting? Anyone that knows what settings I have to do?
    Best Regards, Åsa

    Hi
As for your query...When  realized loss/gain in that double click on line item you can update profit center.
    Same for cash discount granted.
if you ask for document splitting assign Extended  document spliting scenario.
it only work for profit center spliting.

  • System is taking Exchange Rate Value from PO at the time of MIRO

    HI GURUS,
The problem is that the system is taking the value of exchange rate from PO when we are doing MIRO. We do not tick the field -fixed rate -in PO but still the system is taking the value of exchange rate from PO and not from the exchange rate maintained in OB08. In PO ,the value of exchange is rate is coming from the data maintained in OB08 but it becomes outdated by the time of MIRO. Please help.
    Regards,
    Mukesh

    Hi Mukesh,
Please check mentioned conditions according SAP Note 128
Exchange rate differences between goods receipt and invoice receipt are posted under the following preconditions:
The invoice is posted in the same (foreign) currency as the purchase order.
The exchange rate in the purchase order is not fixed.
As a basic rule, an exchange rate difference is only posted as substitute for a price difference, that is, only in the case of stock material (standard price with variance or moving average price with stock shortage/undercoverage). The exchange rate difference results from the following calculation schema:
GR value in foreign currency at GR exchange rate
GR value in foreign currency at IR exchange rate
In the process, the quantity situation is of course taken into account. For example, in the case of IR before GR no exchange rate difference is posted, and in the case of "partial" invoices a proportional exchange rate difference is posted.
For cancelled invoices/credit memos, the following applies:
All invoices/credit memos/subsequent debits must be posted in the same (foreign) currency. (However, not necessarily in the PO currency). The exchange rate difference results from the following calculation schema:
Previous IR value in local currency at average exchange rate of previous invoices/credit memos/subsequent debits
IR value in local currency at exchange rate of present credit memo (in relation to the total quantity invoiced)
Here, too, an exchange rate difference is only posted as substitute for a price difference.
For delivery costs, exchange rate differences are posted to the stock account as long as stock coverage exists. No price difference lines are generated.
During the goods receipt no currency check is carried out and therefore, only the local currency is updated in the invoice.
    Regards
    Mani

  • Item Pricing date from ref. Invoice not copied into Credit memo request

    Hi SAP experts,
If a reference invoice includes several pricing dates on item level
only the first pricing date will be copied into the credit memo request.
Example: Invoice includes three items. First item has pricing date
2007-03-01 and item 20/30 have pricing date 2007-03-03. When creating
a credit memo request with reference to this invoice,
Pricing date 2007-03-01 will be copied to VBKD-PRSDT field
    on header/item level.
When the customer has a foreign currency in use, the exchange rate
in the credit memo request will be from 2007-03-01 and not from
2007-03-03 for items 20/30. This is wrong.
Can you help in finding a solution? Copying routines?

    Hi,
Yes data transfer routine is the solution for this. You can create and assign a new routine in the copy control at item level for Invoice to Credit memo request. Here you can write the code as to transfer the data of pricing date field form billing document to credit memo request.
    This should work.
    Reward points if useful.

    Amrish Purohit
