  • Accidental damage mac within 7 days exchange/return period.

    Hello,
    I am wondering if I am still eligible for 7 days of exchange/return service after I bought my mac air 11'' this week. I accidentally dropped it on the floor while I was asleep the night I bought it. Is it possible to still return/exchange it?
    Thanks!

    sorry to say - you can not exchange or return it if there are any visible damages.  and because of the macbook being dropped, if there are any visible sign of being dropped, your warranty might be considered void by apple.
    as steve359 has mentioned - it is not covered under warranty.
    i hope your macbook is still runnng fine with no issues - i hate to see a good macbook go to waste.
    good luck

  • Horrible experience trying to exchange/return Samsung S5 at store #457

    So I have had a family plan with sprint for over 10 years now, have 5 lines and alway ls do an upgrade when it's up.
    This time one of my line is up for an upgrade so went from my iPhone 5 to the Samsung S5. Great phone lots of features to get used to but phone i originally purchase at location 472 in Union nj, was faulty as I seem to not be able to hear people on the other side of the phone.
    Bought the phone on July 6th, did the software updates needed one I got home and went to work like normal,  threw out the day got onto using my phone which seem of cause I could barely hear them and they could barely hear me, so went to the store in Rockaway nj to exchange it or return it if need be on July 12th.
    Only to find out that best buy doesn't honor their written return policy.
    Was turned away dismiss that the phone had any issues,  the call volume was fine and issue was the life proof case I bought with it, even after we tested without the case still they found the phone to be working fine volume call level. They would do a swap fora new unit but if I still had the same issue with the new one they wouldn't refund the phone, even thoughi was with in the 14 day return period.
    Have bought stuff from best buy for years now, but no more.
    Not looking to buy into headaches,  I want to spend my money on stuff where there is peace of mind, knowing if something is wrong and with in return or warranty guidelines I will be taken care off.
    Manager on duty have me a online support number that dreams with online order as to deal with customer issues.
    This place is a joke,  they mistreat clients as they know nothing Will happen and they are giving out wrong information,  called that number and they claim they don't have a corporate office or customer relation number, or a regional office number.
    Last time I ever set foot in one your stores or buy stuff from your company at all,  wasted an hour explaining the issue at store level with no results turning me away toa different store cause I didn't buy the phone there,  wonder is I was to buy something there would they also tell me to go buy it at another site.
    Wasted another hour on phone that was given by employee at the store to find out they couldn't do anything cause they deal with online orders only, answer I got was go to place where you bought it from, I bought it at best buy, should be able to return it at any best buy, even the moon if they had one there and that wad the closest to me.

    Hello anthopadilla,
    Cell phones can definitely be a blessing or a curse at times. I speak from experience. From what I hear, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is a great phone! I’m sorry if you have been inconvenienced by the issue you are having with the phone and its case. Considering the time you have invested into this, I would be equally as upset. I hope to provide you with some clarity around the communication you received in store and when speaking with our phone agent.
    I am glad to hear the store went through the proper steps in testing the phone for you with, and without, the case on the phone. It sounds as though the store exchanged the phone for you even though they were unable to find anything to be wrong with it. The information you received from our phone agent was correct; our support teams do not have the ability to initiate a return for an in store purchase when assisting you over the phone or online. However we may help connect you with the necessary parties at the store level. You should be able to return your store purchases to any Best Buy location in the country, not just the original purchase location. For more information on our Return & Exchange Promise, click here.
    The store may have been trying to inform you they would not swap another phone for this same issue, because it is likely you will receive the same result in lessened volume levels as long as you are using that case with for that model phone. I apologize if this was not communicated appropriately by the store employee. I recommend looking into other cases if you are unhappy with the effect it has on your phone’s speaker, rather than looking to perform an exchange on the hardware itself.
    I will ensure your feedback is passed on to the leadership at the Rockaway, NJ location. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. We appreciate your business and I hope you will continue to come to us with your future needs!

  • IPhone 4 exchange /return for iphone 4s

    can I return or exchange iphone 4 8 gb  bought at verizon store for iphone 4s 16 gb at the apple store and pay the diference the phone is only 1 day old. verizon has a 35.00 restock fee does anyone know if this can be done?

    Yes, within 14 days (or 30 in ca) any fee would be via Verizon.

  • Exchange/Return policies

    What are Apple's exchange or return policies? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the support pages.

    if you bought it directly from apple then...http://storeimages.apple.com/1704/store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicie s.html#topic-21
    anywhere else, check the stores policy.

  • Please someone help asap with exchange/return question thank you

    purchased a tv last night friday april 30th,2010. I opened it and put where i needed to, it is too small. Do I have to pay the restocking fee if I take back today and get another Tv thats larger? Essentially I am gonna get a comparable tv thats larger, around same price if not more. Very confused dont wanna pay $300 for 15%, not sure if it applies here, thank you. Box is perfect condition all things put back nicely.

    Relax. Assuming all parts are accounted for, and the TV is in new condition(and you have the receipt), there will be no problem exchanging it.

  • Is there a way to exchange/return a SA 540?

    My vendor says that the SA 540 is used so they won't take it back and Cisco tech support is saying it isn't broke.  Any suggestions on what to do with it besides using it as a paper weight? Here are the problems I'm having with it:
         - The WAN connection doesn't support 10MB, we upgraded our line to 100MB at our cost but still would prefer to using the 10MB line. Tech support is saying to put a switch or a hub between the line and the SA, that is poor solution long term.
         - The SSL clientless option doesn't forward DNS requests properly on Windows XP or Vista
         - There is no Cisco client that works with Windows 7.  The new release of QuickVPN does not connect no matter what I do and no SSL client
         - The speed of the unit is slow.  With a full duplex 100MB line there should be no latency with our VOIP system and there isn't on our old router which is odd because it is 6 years old.  The only reason we wanted to upgrade was for the VPN connections which aren't working.
         - The duplicate username/password for IPSec and SSL users.  Why can't they just be one account and allow access to the appropriate connection.
         - Lack of documentation for client configuration and VPN setups.  I've followed the example in the manual and I just can't get clients to connect that quickly.
         - We are running firmware 1.21.1 and have troubleshooted with Cisco on a number of these problems but no real answers. For small businesses that can't afford to have this just sit on the shelf and wait for the next firmware there doesn't seem to be any answers.
    Any helpful suggestion would be appreciated.

    kdeklerk1,
    I would like to talk to you about the issues that you are seeing.  I am going to send you a PM with my contact information.  Let me know when you would be available to talk about this.
    Most of the issues you reference here are fixed in a firmware release will be available in the very short near term.  I can't give exact dates, but we are talking about the very near future.
    Thanks

  • Can I return My IMac to exchange it for a Macbook Pro?

    I have had a IMac 27 inch since march and it is the newest one. I dont like it, so can i return it for a macbook pro? I have the receipt and everything that it was bought with.
    Please let me know, because im going to the apple store soon!

    If it is past 30 days then no you cant, which by what you said in your post; you purchased in march. If it is in the past 30 days then you will most likely only be able to do it through corporate apple. To the best of my knowledge the Apple retail stores aren't fit to handle returns and exchanges all that well. So call 1-800-my-apple or chat with an apple store rep to ask about exchanges. If you want directions for how to chat then just ask, they are lengthy so I don't want to type them if you aren't going to use them.
    Remember, you can only exchange/return within 30days, restocking fees may be applied. See Apple, Inc. For more information.

  • Return policy on ibook?

    hey guys! i love my 12inch ibook, but i think i need a powerbook for the area im interested in (final cut, ect). i just bought my book in august with extra ram (1gig total), and i know if i sell it on ebay that i will not get as much as i would like to off it (everyone sells for less on ebay!!! >:-O) the only last time i brought apple hardware back was my ipod photo for a mini (dont ask why!) so im curious if apple will allow me to exchange/return my ibook? and if not, does anyone know a respectable site i can cash my ibook in for a fair amount of money? im thinking in the $800-900 range hopefully

    Hi Austin,
    Since it's already nearly three months since you bought your iBook, it's not likely Apple or any store would take it back. Here's the link for Apple's policy: http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html
    I don't know about trade ins, but you'd probably get less than what you could if you sold it.
    You can try selling it on www.craigslist.org. You can place a free ad on the local site for your city.
    Good luck!

  • Exchange 2013 - The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the configured threshold

    Noticed at about noon that no emails had been received all day. Began to investigate and found that the MS Exchange Transport service had been set to deny email submission because it was using too much memory on the server (91%).
    The error message makes me think that we may have been getting used by malware or something similar.“The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the
    configured threshold.”
    There are also several warning messages that list particular IP addresses and say that a connection from that IP was denied because there were already the maximum number of connections (20).
    From what I can tell, all of the IP addresses are from Taiwan.
    The time period for which some emails may be missing is from close of business yesterday ( 4/3/2014) through about 12:45 today (4/4/2014).
    From the time I spent reading and trying to figure out the error, I think we may need to readjust our throttling policies to prevent this from happening.
    The exchange server is currently running at 90%+ CPU and 50%+ memory usage the majority of the time, and I’m not sure how to fix it.
    Also, I cannot get into EMS I get a access denied message from the destination computer. (Exchange server) I want to get into there to change the throttling policy back to default, since we disabled it.
    The Error reads:
    The WinRM client cannot process the request. The WinRM client tried to use Kerberos authentication mechanism, but the destination computer <Exchange> returned an 'access denied' error. Change the configuration to allow Kerberos authentication
    mechanism to be used or specify one of the authentication mechanism supported by the server. (How do I do this?) To use Kerberos, specify the local computer name as the remote destination. (I'm trying to use EMS while logged into the local Exchange server)
    Also verify that the client computer and the destination computer are joined to a domain. (Exchange is on our domain, and the computer trying to connect is the same computer) To use basic, specify the local computer name as the remote destination, specify
    Basic authentication and provide user mane and password. Possible authentication mechanisms reported by server.

    I assumed control of this exchange system already in place and I do not have much experience with exchange 2013 or server 2012. I do know 2008, but that doesn't help very much in this situation.
    Recent changes to the system:
    About three days ago we switch our sessions policy to allow many more connections, and I believe this caused the issue. This is what I changed it to:
    Made the registry DWORD (32-bit) "Maximum Allowed Sessions Per User" and modified the value to 1000. Location of registry change @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
    I just changed it to 10 from the 1000. I'm hoping this solves this. So far no.
    Also, I am not the best in the shell or command line interfaces. Any help would be wonderful!

    Hi,
    Yes, could be hardware performance issue. Try recycle the Transport process and see if the issue persists.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange 2003 to GroupWise 7

    We are not able to successfully complete a migration of all users from
    Exchange 2003 to GroupWise 7 on Netware. Issues below:
    ** NOT Necessarily in exact order of sequence **
    System config:
    Netware OES fully service packed, new server, 4GB RAM, 4 Processors.
    GroupWise 7.0.1 IR1 Post Office installed. Domain located on an older,
    existing server.
    Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003 single server. Nothing
    special or unusual about this setup for Exchange, pretty generic.
    1. Issue attempting to install Migration utility. Utility unable to run
    after installation on any workstation. Various errors from "unable to
    create GroupWise account" to "unable to login to Exchange mailbox" and a
    few others. We also got "fatal errors when trying to extract .csv file".
    This was resolved later by running fixmapi.
    2. After nearly 18 hours attempting to get the utility to work, we were
    able to successfully load it onto 2 workstations. It appeared that it
    would work on both.
    3. We tried many things to install and run the utility on 15 additional
    workstations with no success.
    4. Found that the only 2 workstations that appeared to run the utility
    were fairly new, less than 2 months old. We then tried fresh installations
    of WINXP and WIN2000 on 2 workstations with no success. One of the 2
    workstations that did work, later no longer would run the utility. After
    running fixmapi.exe on that workstation, it did again work.
    5. A suggestion from Novell NTS was to run fixmapi.exe. This appeared to
    have corrected 4 of the 10 workstations on which we tried it.
    6. Found on 2 workstations that if ZEN DLU (Dynamic Local User) was used,
    the migration utility did not work. We found this by logging in as
    "Workstation Only" which connected the workstation to the domain, then a
    login to eDirectory. The utility did work. So, again we tried to login on
    startup to eDirectory and again were not able to run the utility. So, the
    fact that some workstations here use DLU may be an issue for this utility.
    7. Found that on other workstations, the utility would run ONLY if
    "Workstation Only" was selected, then login to eDirectory. We were able to
    repeat this sequence multiple times. This is on a workstation not running
    ZEN DLU.
    8. Of the 6 workstations we were able to run the utility, 1 failed in the
    first 5 minutes and would no longer work. So, we split the .csv file from
    the Exchange server into 5 parts and started the migration on the 5
    available operating workstations. Of the 5, only 2 completed the utility.
    Of those 2, only 7 of the 45 users to be migrated completed on 1
    workstation and 15 of 45 completed on another.
    9. On the 2 workstations that completed, all user accounts were created
    but the utility was unable to access the GroupWise account. Login to
    GroupWise account failed.
    10. Migration utility rules creation issue. There are 2 issues here.
    10a. The utility suggests to create a rule using a sub-domain and a
    forward rule in Exchange to the new GroupWise system. We are migrating
    from: royalmouldings.com to ggc.com. So, the sub-domain is
    marexch.ggc.com. The rule would read "forward all mail to
    [email protected]. However, Exchange cannot forward to an external
    domain at the client level. The only means to do so is to create a contact
    in AD with an SMTP email address of the domain to be forwarded to. Then,
    in the users account a rule may be created to forward to that newly
    created contact. The fact that we are forwarding to an external internet
    domain, as in NOT the same one currently used in Exchange, is not
    indicated in the documentation. Additionally, if anyone is to do this, a
    lot of manual work must be done to accomplish this task. Not too practical
    to do for hundreds or thousands of users. This has been a big problem as a
    result of the large amount of users in the system and the time it takes to
    create each of these contacts.
    10b. The second issue is the fact that the rule was created for 1 user,
    then no other users had the rule created. So, even if the rule were to
    work or we were migrating from and to the same domain name, we'd still
    have the rule issue as it was never again created by the utility after the
    first user was migrated.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Bill, you're understandably frustrated. I have a couple of comments.
    1. The network authentication system used by Microsoft Exchange requires that you log in to your workstation with the same user ID and password as your account on Exchange. If they don't match, Exchange returns errors that are not always understandable. That might explain why Zen DLU has problems.
    2. It seems that every application that deals with e-mail has its own version of MAPI, and they're not always compatible with each other. Outlook, GroupWise, and the migration utility all use MAPI. The fixmapi utility will restore the MAPI DLLs that Outlook expects, which is usually the version that works best.
    3. The migration utility should be improved to detect potential errors like these.

  • Buy from Applestore /online store (in case I have to return due to whine)?

    Just curious. What with all the whine problems people are reporting and having heard it myself on the MBPs at the Applestore in Regent Street:
    If I'm wanting a CTO MBP with 2.16GHz and 7200rpm HD, is it better to buy from the physical store or online? I've seen people posting about it being difficult to return a non-standard build MBP - I've decided to take the plunge and am prepared to return it if it's whiny, but I really don't want to have some smart-alec Applecare guy saying.."Ah, but it's a custom build and that's not as easy to return"
    Dual 2.0GHz G5 Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    I've confirmed with Apple rep. that you can NOT return/exchange CTO order either in the store or mail it back to Apple. If you experience any problems, they'll fix it. Now, the reason being is that when you do a CTO order, your unit model number will have CTO in it. Whereas, if you purchase the unit through the store, it will not have CTO.
    If you ask me? I'd say get it from the store for the sake of exchange/return. My local Apple store manager said if my unit has any problem, I could return it and my name would be on top of the waiting list for the next shipment.

  • Exchange 2010: New Mailboxes cannot receive external email, but internal works fine. Existing Mailboxes are working properly.

    Hello,
    I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, but my new mailboxes cannot receive external email. The sender receives an NDR stating the following:
    The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 No such user - psmtp (state 13).
    Internally, the affected mailboxes can send and receive mail, and the mailboxes have no trouble sending mail out of the organization. I do not see an anti-spam solution installed on the exchange server, and I have confirmed that DNS resolved to the WAN IP
    of this server.
    Can anyone help me? The message tracker didn't appear to have recorded the NDR's that it sent, but it's possible I didn't view the logs correctly.
    Thank you!

    My environment contains two servers:
    Server A: Domain Controller, Server 2008 R2, Exchange 2010 Standard

    Is your Exchange server exposed to the Internet or do you have some
    3rd-party device that does spam filtering? If you have something out
    in front of Exchange that only periodically refreshes its cache of
    valid SMTP addresses from the AD then you need to adjust the refresh
    rate.
    That "550 No such user" isn't a status code that Exchange returned.

  • Urgently need EwsJavaApi example to read email from exchange, and print text attachment to file.

    Hello,
    I have the below code running using the EwsJavaApi. I need to modify it to read the the first email that matches the search string, and then save it's attachment to a file.... Thank you in advance!!!
    public class EWSDemo {
    * @param args
    public static void main(String[] args)  throws Exception {
    ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService();
     // Provide Crendentials
     ExchangeCredentials credentials = new WebCredentials("[email protected]", "yubbybuddy");
     service.setCredentials(credentials);
     // Set Exchange WebSevice URL
     service.setUrl(new URI("https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/exchange.asmx"));
     // Get five items from mail box
     ItemView view = new ItemView(5);
     // Search Inbox
     FindItemsResults<Item> findResults = service.findItems(WellKnownFolderName.Inbox,"Subject:ROGERDODGER123", view);
     // iterate thru items
     for (Item item : findResults.getItems()) {
      System.out.println(item.getSubject());
      AttachmentCollection myAttachments = item.getAttachments();
      System.out.println(myAttachments.);

    >> I need to modify it to read the the first email that matches the search string
    By first do you mean then newest email to arrive or the oldest email in the Mailbox that matches that string ?
    Exchange returns Items from Newest to oldest by default if you want the older messages then you can use the OrderBy property
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.exchange.webservices.data.itemview.orderby(v=exchg.80).aspx which should give you the oldest item
    Cheers
