Exchange Setup on MacBook Air

I am haviing trouble setting up my Exchange account for mail/calendar/contacts on my new MacBook Air.  I have no trouble with my IPhone 5 or my IPad.  Any reason why the setup would be different on the Air?

No, when I click on the calendar appointment, it does show an attachment.  When I look at my calendar through Outlook, the attachment is there.

  • Exchange mail clogging MacBook Air

How can I limit the amount of email stored on my MacBook Air as it is eating up my storage. My email downloads from a Microsoft Exchange server.

You want to get Mail to download headers only and only download the body of the email once you have opened it.
    Or.
As your email server is Exchange, you should be able to access it online. That way you use no local storage.

  • C4780 Wireless setup on MacBook Air

    Hi
I recently upgraded to a MacBook Air (running Mountain Lion) and I have changed my internet provider. This means that when I try and use my printer wirelessly, I have no way of setting up the WiFi as my laptop does not have a C.D drive and so I cannot use the original installation C.D.
Whenever I try and use the WPS push button setup, the printer tells me there is a WPS error every time and so I cannot connect that way either.
Is there anything I can do?

Does your router have WPS?  That is the easiest way.  Start WPS on the pirnter, then within 2 minutes start WPS on the router.
If not, this procedure is clunky, but works:
    1. On the front of the printer: Start [Scan] > Wireless > Restore Defaults.
    2. On your Mac look for a wireless network named 'hpsetup'.  Connect to it.
    3. Back on the printer in the wireless menu, print a Wireless Network Test.
    4. Type the printer's IP address into Safari.
    5. On the printer's internal settings page in Safari, click on the Network tab and run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
    6. Connect your Mac back to your main wireless network.
    7. Add the printer normally in System Prefs > Print & Scan.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • No multi-channel available with HDMI output in Audio MIDI Setup on Macbook Air mid-2011 !!!!!!!

    Hi everybody !
I am currently facing some problem with seting up a surround sound system.
I looked everywhere on the web but i couldn't find any proper answer to this problem.
To sum up, i want to have a Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound when i'm playing a movie (with an AC3 audio track obviously).
I have a Macbook Air 13" Core i7 connected to a SAMSUNG Plasma TV via an iWires thunderbolt -> HDMI cable (bought on the same time as the MBA). This TV is connected to an amp via an optical cable and this amp to a 5.1 system.
When i am going to Audio MIDI Setup to configure the HDMI output, i cannot select any multi-channel option, only stereo !!!!
Is someone has any idea how to solve this problem ? I am struggling a lot and spent hours on that without finding any solutions !
Thanks a lot for your time !

    Hello ckkzzzle,
I was looking into the issue you are describing and think I have a great article to help troubleshoot it. The article is called Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573.
Start here, and work your way down as needed:
    Check connections
When using an external display be sure to check the following:
If you're using an Apple notebook, confirm the AC power cable or adapter is securely connected to the computer and the cable providing power to the display is also secure. It is always good to have your notebook connected to AC power when an external display is in use.
Confirm display adapters are fully seated in their respective connections and that they are supported models and for the computer and display. Refer to these articles to assist you with adapter compatibility and further configuration information:
    Monitor and Display Adapter Table
About Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters
Apple Mini DisplayPort adapters: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Thunderbolt ports and displays: Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Remove all display cable extenders, KVM switches, or other like devices and retest to determine if the issue is resolved.
If more than one video adapter is in use—or "daisy-chained"—troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Canon Wireless Printer Setup on MacBook Air without Super Drive access

I just bought a Canon Pixma MX 920 Printer and can't figure out how to install the wireless setup and the printer drivers without using the startup CD as I don't have access to a Super Drive.  I have a 3 month old Mac Air using Mountain Lion and I'm also trying to set this up on an older Mac Air. The Canon website has been no help at all.  I'm installing this for a family member while visiting from out of state so I'd like to do this before I leave Monday.  Suggestions?

    You can download Apple's drivers:
Apple Canon Laser Printer Drivers 2.0
    Apple Canon Printer Drivers 2.11
You can also go to Canon's support site to locate and download drivers for specific printers.

  • I am trying to make and receive calls on my Macbook Air. I am getting an error message when setting up up my Mac to make calls on FaceTime.  Has anyone encountered this?

I am trying to setup my Macbook Air to make & receive calls but I am getting an error message stating "FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls" when selecting the box to turn on iPhone cellular calls on my Mac.  I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.2.  I am signed into iCloud, FaceTime, & Messages with the same Apple ID.  Is anyone encountering this?

    Hi,
The Same Network is only needed for the Text Forwarding part of the Messages app on both and the iMessages account's Text Forwarding.
I understand Blue Tooth is On but have your paired the two devices for Handoff and Continuity ?
I cannot do this bit on my Mid 2011 iMac so I am a bit lost as to the actual settings.

  • Can I exchange my macbook air for the new pro?

I recently bought a haswell series 13" macbook air exactly 1 week before the introduction of the new haswell macbook pros.  After considering the spec and price difference I realized I'd rather have the pro. I looked on the returns tab on the website.  It said I can return my product within 14 days. Is it possible for me to exchange my air for the pro without having to go through returning my macbook air and buying the pro?  I realized the price difference wasn't all that differernt and I wouldn't mind the extra power. I currently have the 13" macbook air i5 with 8gb. I plan on getting the 8gb for the 13" retina display macbook pro as well

I strongly doubt it. The best thing for you to do is to return this one before the 14 days expire. If the time passes you will have to keep the Air and try to sell it privately.
Once Apple accepts the Air back and you know you are getting a refund you can start the order process for the Pro.
    regards

  • Can I exchange my Macbook Air for a Pro with the warranty card?

I recently found out that My Macbook Air 13'' is the same price as the Macbook Pro with Retina Display, I currently have my warranty card and was wondering if I could exchange My current laptop for no extra charge

You can return a Mac within 14 days of purchase.
Then purchase  a new Mac or ask for an exchange if possible
    Best.

  • I am trying to setup bootcamp on my MacBook Air.  Network diagnostics doesn't believe I'm connected to the internet... but I am!!???

I am trying to setup bootcamp on my MacBook Air.  I have a wifi internet connection which works fine in Safari etc. However, when I get to the point of downloading the windows install files I am told the network is not connected, but it is!
I have a simple automatic connection set up to a wifi router which works fine for all standard internet functions - mail, safari, downloads in safari etc. Where it falls down is that the system doesn't recognise it in network diagnostics.  When I reach the point of downloading win installation files for my air from the internet it says I am not connected to the internet and runs network diagnostics which proceeds to break my internet connection.  If I stop network diagnostics, close the windows and simply switch my wifi off and on then I'm back up and running, but the network diagnostics still doesn't believe it.
Any ideas?  Seems completely illogical to me...

This is the message I get if that helps anyone...

  • My Mac Mail subfolders on my MacBook Air will not sync in alphabetical order. I am assuming it is a setting that I am not finding since my iMac based at my home office is fine, so is my iPad and iPhone. The core source is Exchange.

My Mac Mail subfolders on my MacBook Air will not sync in alphabetical order. I am assuming it is a setting that I am not finding since my iMac based at my home office is fine, so is my iPad and iPhone. The core source is Exchange.

If you have been using the mac.com Apple ID to make iTunes purchases recently, then there should be no issues continuing to use it with the new iPhone. I would abandon the new ID as you will never get Apple to merge the two IDs. I have had a mac.com ID for years and continue to use it with my iPhone 4S.
Tell us the issues that you encounter trying to set up the iPhone with the mac.com account.

  • ICal, Macbook Air, and Exchange 2010

I have a user whos iCal is not syncing with Exchange 2010. When creating a new event, it gives the message "iCal can't save the event "xxxx" to the Exchange server. The account "xxxx" currently can't be modified. To discard your changes and continue using the version of your calendars that's on the server, click Revert to Server. To save your changes on your computer until the problem is resolved, click Go Offline."
The user is on a 2011 13" Macbook Air, 1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo. Snow Leopard 10.6.7, iCal 4.0.4. Mail and Address Book sync fine. The calendar works fine from the users iPhone, Outlook Web Access, and Outlook 2011 on the computer.
I have tried deleting the account, deleting all caches, and recreating it, but it still doesn't work. I created the account on my Macbook and it works fine, no problems syncing over wired or wireless connections. Macbook is also on 10.6.7, iCal 4.0.4. So I was thinking it was an account issue. I created a new account on the Macbook Air, set up the exchange account in iCal, and I get the same problem as on the original account, no syncing.. I have everything set up exactly the same as on my Macbook, but the Macbook Air refuses to sync. This error only appears when an event created on the Macbook Air is in the calendar. It pulls events from the server fine, but once an event is created it refuses to cooperate.
Do Macbook Airs just not play nice with Exchange?

This is not an issue with the Macbook Air.  I have had this same problem since upgrading to Lion.  One solution suggested (from MacRumors.com forum reply)  was to
    1) Open iCal and go into the iCal Menu/Preferences. Go to Advanced tab and enable Time Zone Support. Close iCal
    2) Open System Preferences and click on Date & Time. Click on Time Zone tab and enable the checkbox for auto detect time zone.
I did this several times without success before I finally got rid of the errors.  I have been error free for 3 weeks, but today the error is back (with no apparent changes made by me).  I'm still struggling to get rid of it now.

  • Can i exchange the HDD of macbook air with higher capacity?

hello all i would like to ask if i bought the macbook air 128GB, can iexchange the HDD to higher capacity 256 GB later or it can't be exchanged?
also is there is any one know the manufacturing country of the macbook airavailable on the apple.com site? is it made in US or made in China?
    thanks a lot in advance

Hi, it can't be upgraded (well not without some serious warranty voiding surgery to the internals). If you wanted to upgrade you would need to buy another one
Its designed in the US, built in China
