EXCISE DUTY IN CASE OF SALES RETURNS

Hi,
When we create a RE document with reference to a billing document which is excise based, then all excise values also gets copied to the RE document and when we create the credit memo for this RE then excise values also gets posted to cenvat suspence account.
Now for returns how do we reverse excise or credit taken ?
Pls explain the process ?
Regards
Krishna

Hi,
In J1IH ... U had written Credit Entries and Debit Entries... i would request to know that debit entires means debit entries done or to be done ...
Like when we do sales:
Billing:
DR - Customer
CR - Cenvat Suspence Accc
Excise Invoice
Dr - Cenvat SSE
Dr - Payables
now when we do goods returns:
we need to get credit back to out input accounts .... so we would use which transaction in this case ?
In Returns
Cr - Customer
Dr - Cenvat Suspence Accnt
Now how give Cr to Cenvat SSE and Dr. input accounts ?
regards
krishna

  • CIN - Excise created in case of sales return

    Hi all,
After reading lot of post about argument in object, I have undertand that, in case of sales return, to create excise invoice I have to do:
T.Code J1IH and do the following:-
    Customer Credit
Choose the 'Additional Excise' input the original excise invoice reference, document year, company code, plant and excise group and execute. There input manually what value you need to give credit and save.
    Cenvat Debit
Choose 'Other Adjustments' and here also, maintain the datas whatever you input as above and save.
Is correct, If I have a return referred to an invoice with BED, CESS and S&HCess, to use "Additional Excise" (RG23A) to insert BED and S&HCess and "Other Adjustments" (PLA) for CESS? this means 2 excise documents to rectify excise amounts in case of return.
Thanks in advance for every contribution to clarify this dubt.
    Gianpaolo

"Additional Excise" subscreen is for differential excise posting, ie, in case you made any mistakake in ED Calculation or excise invoice. In order to correct that, we use that.

  • Excise Entries in case of sales return

    Dear sap mites
Can any one guide me during sales return how excise gets reversed as we would have already paid to the govt during sales how do we take input credit back
please do explain with  GL account entries and an example if possible will be very grateful to you
Its of high priority as i have a presentation in front of my client

Ideal way of Excise Entries incase of return may not be cancelling Excise Invoice through J1IIN, as it may be possible that through Excise Invoice, say 10 Quantity was despatched & Return is only 2 quantity.
The Option widely used is as under:
    Incase of Return Sales Order:
    T.Code for copy control: VTAF
    Source Document: F2
    Target Document: RE
    Item category REN
Considering the above settings are done:
Create return sales order RE (with Reference to Billing Document) & the data will be copied as it is in Return Sales Order - RE. For Eg: here you require to change to quantity from 10 to 2, as you want to take back into Inventory of only 2.
    Incase of Return Delivery:
    T.Code for copy control: VTLA
    Source Document: RE
    Target Document: LR
    Item category REN
Considering the above settings are done:
Create Return Delivery through T.Code VL01N & do PGR (Post Goods Receipt). This will add the stock to blocked stock. This will take care of Inventory.
To address the issue of how to take Credit for Excise, use T.Code: J1IH --> other Adjustment & based on the credit to be taken, make the necessary entry.
    Incase of Credit Memo:
    T.Code for copy control: VTFA
    Source Document: RE
    Target Document: Credit Memo
Item category G2N (Check in System)
First in VA02, remove the Billing Block in Return Sales Order - RE & save the document. Now in T.Code: VF01, enter Return Sales Order Number & select the appropriate Billing Type (Credit Memo) & Enter& Save. This will create Credit Memo.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Excise duty credit in custmore sales return

    Hi Experts
When we receive the sale return from customer we follow the below process.
Create sales order with order type sales return
Create return delivery. It create stock for return material.
VF01 Accounting entry pass in customer account.
    J1IH for cenvat credit.
My question is that can we take this cenvat with reference to VF01 document  or any other document. I don't want to do J1IH. I I get cenvat by J1IH it show excise invoice due list.

    DEar all,
can i have the system customised in such a way that for the scenario of debit of duty in case of purcase return , the debit should happen to rg 23 part2 . And if there is no balance then it should debit rg23 c part 2 and if there is a no balance in it then it should then debit PLA .???
If yes how can i do the same . Please mention if any config change is there?

    HI,
can i have the system customised in such a way that for the scenario of debit of duty in case of purcase return , the debit should happen to rg 23 part2 . And if there is no balance then it should debit rg23 c part 2 and if there is a no balance in it then it should then debit PLA .???
    First basic things
    Rg23A
    Rg23C
    RG23D
    PLA
are different register and for different purpose.
EX< if you are returning row material to vendor then Rg23A will update as row material you know it very well.
now how you can use Rg23C balance fro row material ?
for Rg23C  for asset and consumable 50% excise value put in Hold
yes if don't have any balance in Rg23A then you have to use PLA
still i have dought on that.
I know in utilization we can use PLA but for sale ( return nothing but indirect sale) can we used check with your legal person ?

  • Wrong VAT amount in MIRO (Excise duty inclusive case)

    Hi All,
I have created purchase order with excise duty as inclusive. I have captured the vendor excise invoice & posted  it. Upto this point all is working fine.
When i am  going to do MIRO ,the vat amount is also showing correct ( calculated on Base price+ ED).
But when i am changing the tax code ,the VAT is calculated on Base price only.
It is not considering the amount of Excise duty posted .
Besides excise duty inclusive case ,when we are changing the tax code in  MIRO where certain percentage for the conditions is maintained like (821+vat 5%) ,VAT amount is correct.Only problem is with the excise duty inclusive cae.
All the configuration & transaction data is properly maintained .
    Please guide ,
    Regards,
    SAP MM INDIA

Create a seperate tax code for dealer with ed + vat combination,
here maintain tax rates for excise condition types as zero.
Maintain that tax code in p.o.Do GR as suggested in sap note
See Note 1104456 - Use of MRP indicator for capturing excise duties from dealer for more information.
In MIRO,Enter base amount removing excise duty values, select tax code only in header.
Reply given by p.singh is also very important point to note regarding VAT condition type.

  • Excise Duty  at the time sales and utilization

    HI,
There is requirement of the client that when making the billing - Outgoing Excise Invoice.
The Entry should come this way
    Excise Duty Suspense Account Debit
To Excise Duty Collect on Sales Credit (P&L - Income)
When at the end of the month when doing utilization
    The entry must be
Excise Duty - Paid Account (P&L- Expense) Debit
    To CENVAT receivable account
How can we configure this scenario.
The first part Outgoing excise Invoice I did in ETT - DLFC it is working fine.

  • Excise of Sales Return

    D Friends,
In case of Sales Return the doc flow is VA01-> VL01N (PGR)-> VF01 (Credit for returns). We don't do J1IIN. So pls tell how the Excise is reversed.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi
As Suggested you can make a Journal Voucher entry for Excise reversal .Since for returns there is no excise document created as of practical, So there is no need of creating a return excise document using transaction J1IIN.
But still we need to take back the credit of Excise paid on the returned goods , so for that we can settle through JV using J1IH.
    Thanks

  • Customer Sales Return in Depot

    Hii,
There is a scenarion where in materials are sold from a Depot. The process we are following is that we are preparing the sales order, then the delivery document with respect to the sales order. After the delivery document is created we are updating the RG23D register through J1IJ, with reference to the delivery document. Then we are preparing the billing document with reference to the delivery document.
Now during sales return we are preparing the sales return order with reference to the billing document, then the return delivery and finally the credit memo with reference to the return order.
Now can you please let me know how we will update the RG23D register in case of sales return,
    Regards
    Ritam

    Returns from Customer to Depot
    1)  Create a Depot return sales order in VA01 with reference to original billing document
    2)  Create Delivery
    3) Create Transfer Posting using MB1B with Movement type 453 and dont forget to make a note of the material document number
    4)  Go to J1IG, click "Capture". There enter material document number and the respective series group.  Then click "details".  Now select the line and click "More documents".  Maintain the excise invoice number created at supplying plant.
Returns from Depot to supplying plant
    1)  Go to J1IG and click on red icon from the toolbar.  Enter material document number created during MIGO, year, series group of Depot and hit Enter button.  Now click on "Item" so that you will be taken to next screen where you can see line item for RG23D cancellation.  Save so that system prompts you asking whether you want to cancel the entry. Click YES.
    2)  Verify this by going to tables J_1IEXCHDR & J_1RG23D.  Check GRPO entry in both the tables where the status must have changed to "D"
    3)  The original excise invoice can be cancelled via J1IH and check whether DLFC entry has the status "R" and at this time entry CEIV is also created confirming excise invoice and CENVAT reversal.

  • Basic excise duty calculated in duty free deemed export

    Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue where system calculates basic excise duty in case of deemed export(duty free) . In some invoices it calculates basic excise duty though it should not calculate as it is duty free.
    Our scenario is like this:-
At sales order  in deemed export we take alternative tax classification as "7"( Header level - Billing tab). Due to this my JMOD value becomes Zero which is ok. Another condition type is JEX2 which is 100% of JMOD.
Now while creating invoice at VF01, value of JMOD AND JEX2 are Zero which is absolutely OK. But at the time of release to accounting system update 12% value in JEX2 only which flows to G/L.
    Example:-
    This case is ok.
    Condition type                                      Price
    PR00                                                  100
    UTXJ(100% Of PR00)                           100
    JMOD                                                 0
    JEX2(100% OF JMOD)                         0
    Wrong duty calulation
    Condition type                                      Price
    PR00                                                  100
    UTXJ(100% Of PR00)                           100
    JMOD                                                 0
    JEX2(100% OF JMOD)                         12
In our most case this work fine means if JMOD is 0 then JEX2 is also 0, But in some invoices system calculate or update JEX2 with 12% value after release to account which is not at all required.
We have checked all the customization setting which are ok.
Please advise why system is behaving this way only in case of some invoices.
Your efforts will be highly appreciable.
    Regards,
    Dharminder

    Dear Experts,
If anyone face this issue please give your valuable inputs. I will highly appreciates if got some advise or suggestion on the  issue in J1IIN
We have done the debug at our end and following is the observation
The name of the include is - MJ1IINF01
The variable that needs to be watched is - CUST_TYP
The perform called during the execution is DETERMINE_INVOICE_TYPE
    1) Export first and deemed next
When we first create invoice for export the variable CUST_TYP is set to
“F” and the invoice is created as per expected with correct duties.
After this if we create a deemed invoice without exiting the screen the
invoice type under “UTILIZATION”, include keeps CUST_TYP as “F” and
    do
not change it to “L”. Hence it remains export. Which is the cause of
problem we are facing at present..
But in next case it changes CUST_TYP properly as explained below.
    2) Deemed first and Export next
When we first create invoice for deemed the variable CUST_TYP is set to
“L” and the invoice is created as per expected with correct duties.
After this if we create a export invoice without exiting the screen the
invoice type under “UTILIZATION” include changes CUST_TYP as “F” and
    hence we get desired effect.
Our analysis shows that the include is not able to change variable
CUST_TYP to “L” from “F” in first case. But in second case it is
correctly changes to “F” from “L”.
    Please advise.

    Dharminder

  • Credit memo -Depot sale return

    Hello Guru,
I am facing problem in credit return memo regarding excise amount.
Since this is depot scenario after doing J1IJ i am doing invoice where excise value is picking from J1IJ...which is ok.
when i am doing depot return with reference to invoice it is copying right excise value from invoice.....which is ok.
But when i am doing my credit memo for return it is not copying excise value from sales return order.
Copy control is ok i.e. D.
Values of excise in return credit memo is copied from the orginal sales order.
Also i tried with doing first J1IG to capture return excise and then i did vf01, even though i am not getting the excise value which is in sales return order.whie generating the credit memo system is doing the recalculation of pricing.

    Umapathy.M

    Hai,
The pre requisties for this scenario in CIN part is
    1. Create the input raw material with UNBW material type.
    2. Create the customer as a vendor.
    3. Maintain the input material in J1ID with material type raw material & chapter ID.
    4. Maintain the excise details for this vendor with excise indicator.
5.Maintain the assessable value for this material in J1ID. This has to be flow for excise calculation.
6.Maintain the excise tax rates for the Chapter id in J1ID.
7.Mainain the 501 Mvt type in IMG - Logistics general - Tax on goods & movements - India - Business transactions - Incoming excise invoices - specify which mvt type involves excise invoices.
8.Maintain the settings for register entries & GL accts in Acct determination in IMG - Logistics general - Tax on goods & movements - India - Acct determination for the excise transaction type EWPO.
    The steps involves are
1.Create a sale order with excise tax code conditions for the processed fininshed product.
2.Do the MIGO with other receipt for 501 Mvt type to receive the raw material. Capture the excise invoice in the MIGO itself.
3.Post the excise invoice by J1IEX.
4.Do the process with PP cycle.
5.Send the finished product with SD route.
6.Do the Billing & outgoing excise invoice.
7.The SD  Pricing procedure has to be configured as per the requirement.
8.Check the accting entries at the Customer acct.
