Exclamation folder and my ruined ipod please help
My ipod no longer responds anymore. It either displays the apple logo, the folder with the exclamation point or nothing at all. My computer will not recognize it when I plug it into the usb port. I've tried resetting it and it does not work. I can't update it or restore it because the updater won't recognize it. Does anyone know anything I can do to get it to work again?
I had the same experience with mine a few weeks back... So I might save you alot of headache by telling you straight up what you should do...
1) Dig out your "original" CD that came with your ipod
2) Install ipod software from scratch (Itunes will say its already installed btw, so dont worry about that)
3) When the installer says to plug in the ipod try it (I know it sounds stupid, but when i did it, the computer saw the ipod)
4) Restore the ipod with the original updater
5) Download and update with the new updater.
I always say (now) "When all else fails, start from scratch"

Set your Nano aside in a warm, dry place for about 3 days. Don't turn it on, don't use it. After this time connect it to power (a wall charger works best) and let it charge for at least 30 minutes. While it is still connected to power reset it (hold down the menu and center buttons for 6 seconds, may take a few tries) and then let it fully charge. If it is still not working, Restore it in iTunes.
If it still is not working after that you can send it to a 3rd party repair site such as http://www.iresq.com or Google for more. Or just buy a new one. -
When i disconnect my iPod 2nd Gen from my laptop, its display goes off and working freezes. Please help me.
The computer freezes? There may be something wrong with the USB port. If the laptop has more than one port, does this happen on any port? If you are disconnecting the shuffle cable from the computer, does it make any difference if you disconnect the shuffle at the other end of the cable first, then disconnect the cable from computer? Or if you currently disconnect the shuffle from cable first, try it the other way.
You may be able to work around this problem, if you get a self-powered USB hub. Something like this one

There are many choices, but be sure to get one that has its own power supply. You can leave the shuffle cable connected to the hub, and connect the shuffle to the hub, instead of directly to the computer. This may provide a "buffer" for whatever is causing your laptop to shut off when the shuffle is disconnected. Since the hub has its own power supply, it will not rely on the computer for power to re-charge the battery. -

That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

I left my ipod touch at a friends house. She doesnt have internet. So it's not connected to the internet. And I had never charged it so it's been dead for about a week now. Did you try to restore it with itunes it should work then.Or try and reset it by going to settings/general/reset. If it doesn't work than go to apple some time and tell them about the error if they don't fix it than I am confused and have no clue what to do.

My iPod does not update it self in iTunes. I click on the "update the latest version for your iPod" and it fails. Please help me.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I assume you know where your catalogue file (the lrcat file) is located. In the same folder is a previews lrdata folder which you should delete or rename in Explorer, then start LR again.
If I've made incorrect assumptions above, sorry, and we'll go back over it from the start.

I backed up my Iphone to itunes so i can do the new Update to IOs 7 and so now that i updated it i want to backup and restore and its not working, Please help!
An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it.
