Exclude/Filter Filename from Index (Indexing SAP Offline Help)

Hi All,
I managed it to index the SAP Documentation DVD (aka SAP Library, aka SAP Help).
Ok, now I can search for keywords. Now TREX searched all files; also the "frameset.htm" files.
Basically only the "content.htm" files are important to the users... since frameset files dont't deliver any content "No document excerpt available".
I think now you understand my issue: Is it possible only to index the "content.htm" files and to exclude/filter the "frameset.htm" files?
Thanks in advance for any detailed hints and how-to's...
Philipp

Hi Philipp,
Within your index, you have defined some (probable: standard) crawler. You can copy the standard crawler, use this copy instead, and activate some resource filter on it, scope filtering using URL Regular Expression.
See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/46/5d5040b48a6913e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm for details.
Hope it helps

  • Excluding SKUs from Indexing

    Hello! I`m using ATG 10.0.3. I have a problem with excluding SKUs from indexing. I tried to add rule in IndexedItemGroups
    rules=
    <ruleset>
      <accepts>
         <rule op="includesItem">
            <valueof target="childSKUs">
            <rule op=isNotOneOf>
               <valueof target="id">
               <valueof constant="[145239206733, 145239196733, 145239216733, 145239186733, 145239176733, 145239226733]">
            </rule>
         </rule>
      </accepts>
    </ruleset>
    But it has no effect. After reindexing I found such sku`s in BCC / Indexing Review / Content Inspection. Any pointers will be helpfull.

    Hi Torsten,
    if you want to exclude specific documents from Indexing you have to do the following:
    1. Create a new Resource Filter (Result)
    Navigate to Content Management -> Global Services -> Resource Filters -> Result Resource Filters. Create a new Resource Filter. The following will show a sample configuration:
    - Include Documents/Web-Pages: checked
    - Include Folders: checked
    - Include Links (Not Applicable For Web-Sites): checked
    - Case Sensitive (Folders And Documents/Web-Pages): checked
    - Item ID Mode (Documents/Web-Pages Only): exclude
    - Item ID Patterns (csv): *.jpg
    - Mime Type Mode (Documents/Web-Pages Only): exclude
    - Mime Type Patterns (csv): application/octet-stream
    Save your settings.
    You can have more information here for Resource Filters: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c0/6f5040b48a6913e10000000a1550b0/content.htm]
    2. Create a new Crawler Parameter
    Navigate to Content Management -> Global Services -> Crawler Parameters -> Index Management Crawler. Create a new Crawler and use the previous created Resource Filter (Result).
    3. Create an index
    Navigate to Index Administration. Create a new Index and use the previous created crawler parameter.
    Best regards,
    Denis

  • Exclude pages in export from indexing?

    hello, is there a way to export the site without indexing the child pages?
    i need the child pages to be in the site but google is listing them in the search results.
    i just want  the main pages (home, about, services , contact) to be listed in search results
    is there a way around this?
    thanks

    plasticjungle To prevent search engines from indexing specific pages, Open up the page properties panel. Add the following metadata into the Metadata HTML for <head> section. Go to the Options Tab and uncheck Include page in sitemap.xml.

  • How to stop Spotlight from indexing backup drives

    Is there any way to stop Spotlight from indexing backup drives?
    Thanks

    Yes, in Spotlight preferences there is an option to do this. I'm not on my Mac now, so I forget exactly where in Spotlight preferences it is. I believe there is a second tab that you have to click on, then click the "+" sign to add items to Exclude. Just add your backup drive.

  • Prevent Windows Search from indexing PST contents in Outlook

    Running Windows 8.1 with Windows Search, and Office 2013 with more that 20GB in more than 10 PSTs and OSTs, searching becomes very slow after indexing everything. Reindexing has no change. If I exclude Outlook it's very fast.
    There is an option in Outlook search ribbon -> Search Tools -> Locations to search. I removed most of the PSTs (accounting for 75% of the contents), but still ALL PSTs and OSTs get indexed (although they won't be searched).
    This makes using Windows Search nearly impossible (e.g. searching using the charm thing takes 30 seconds).
    How can I have Windows Search index ONLY the PSTs and OSTs that I specifically want?
    Is there any configuration, registry stuff or programatic workaround to exclude from indexing (not searching)?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Still, as mentioned above, I don't have such a method to choose which to be included in Indexing and which to be excluded.
    The only thing that I find which is close to your request is this:
    If the method above isn't helpful in your scenario(as you mentioned), you can try some 3rd-party tools/add-ins to realize a new search function which may meet your request.

  • Keeping Spotlight from indexing external disks

    Is there a way to exclude ALL external disks from being indexed by Spotlight? I don't need the indexing and it just slows everything down. I know about the list of exclusions, but a disk seems to have to be attached before one can exclude it. Can't one just keep it from indexing anything one might attach?

    Vaughan Schlepp wrote:

    I don't think there is a simple (if any) way to do this, but note that the OS does somehow keep track of excluded disks once they are excluded, even when they don't show up in the list because the drives are not currently mounted.
    Perhaps there is some way to edit that list before mounting new drives, but I don't know where the list is or how to edit it.

  • Converting from indexed color to grayscale no longer works in CS4

    I have a number of files to convert from indexed colors to grayscale. Did some but clicked "don't show me again" box on the Discard Colors warning. Now I can't make the conversion. Everything looks fine, but when I close file, then reopen, it's reverted to indexed colors - restarting Photoshop or the computer doesn't help.
    I'd appreciate any help....Thanks, Grant

    Grant,
    All your contact information is posted to the web. These forums are crawled by bots harvesting info.
    I don't think you want additional junk mail, unsolicited phone call scams, and possible attempts to crack your website, do you?
    People here recommend not to post contact info. Perhaps a forum moderator can remove your personal info, but you might be able to edit your post yourself.
    GIF only uses indexed color mode, So if you want your files to NOT be in the Indexed Color mode you need to save them as another file format like .png or .jpg

  • Stop Spotlight from indexing new drives

    I know how to block a drive in Spotlight's privacy settings.
    What I'm looking for is a way to stop Spotlight from indexing a drive every time I plug one in.  I'm often connecting external drives for work & spotlight immediatley starts to index & I go in and add it to the blocked list in Spotlight> Privacy.
    Is there a way to just have Spotlight NOT try to index a new drive?

    Sorry, I missed that part.
    Try this, add this file to the external drive.
    touch /Volumes/name of the external drive/.metadata_never_index
    This will add a file called .metadata_never_index to the root of that drive.
    You can also disable spotlight
    sudo mdutil -a -i off
    To re-enable Spotlight:
    sudo mdutil -a -i on

  • How do you stop Spotlight from indexing other OSX partition?

    I have my harddrive partioned, on one partition is osx 10.8, on the other is osx 10.9. I'd like to stop Spotlight on 10.8 from indexing 10.9's partition. If 10.8 is booted and I set Spotlight to not index 10.9's "macintosh HD"  via systemprefs/spotlight it has the unfortunate consequence of carring over, so when I boot into my 10.9 partition Spotlight won't be indexing - which is not what I want.
    Anyone able to shed some light on this one?

    Unfortunately, when you add a drive in the Privacy field, a small file is created on that drive which tells Spotlight not to index it. So both 10.8 and 10.9 see that file and won't index, no matter which OS you did the Privacy change from. Also then, of course, if you remove the drive from Privacy, both will index it.
    At least that's how it's worked for me. I haven't been able to get the same drive to behave differently for multiple startup partitions.

  • How to fetch data only from index

    Hi,
    I'm using below query which fetches arount 1,00,000 records & then perform group operations on them.
    <pre>
    SELECT Record_Type,Country_Product_Id,Channel_Id,SUM(Items)
    FROM t_Utr
    WHERE Four_Eyes_Status='A'
    AND(
    Booking_Date >= To_Date(v_Period_Start_Date, 'DD/MM/YYYY')
    AND Booking_Date <= To_Date(v_Period_End_Date , 'DD/MM/YYYY')
    AND Invoice_Id IS NULL
    AND Link_Id=p_Link_Id
    AND Billing_Indicator = 'L'
    GROUP BY Record_Type, Country_Product_Id, Channel_Id
    </pre>
    I'm having an index on all the columns being searched and all the values being fetched.
    Here I want to know if there is some procedure where we can fetch all the data from index itself, & we need not to switch again & again between table & index data.
    Thanks
    Deepak

    That's the kind of thing you want to leave to the optimizer.
    Provided you supply it with the information needed, most of the time it will make a better decision than you will on speculation.
    You want to avoid "hard coding" execution plans since this is contrary to the principles of the CBO and the "what" vs "where" philosophy underlying declarative programming.
    A few thoughts:
    1) Possibly the "AND Invoice_Id IS NULL" gets in the way of that of index only lookup
    2) To raise an optimizer bug/change request you will need to prove that your suggested plan is (a) possible (b) superior to the optimizer's choice (c) the optimizer choice is based on erroneous logic (possibly via 10053 trace)

  • How do I stop spotlight from indexing files?

    I only have 2GB of RAM and Indexing files really slows down my computer, so much that i can hardly operate the computer. Is there any way that i can stop Spotlight from indexing my files automatically or have it index every week instead of every day?

    It shouldn't be running so much that it slows down the computer. It will run for a while, initially, but after that it should index files on the fly as they are added. I suppose if you dumped a ton of files onto the hard drive, it would spend a while indexing them.
    You might try restarting the index as it might be corrupt. To do so, go to the Privacy tab in Spotlight. Add your hard drive to the list. Wait about 10 seconds, then remove your hard drive. Don't do that while you're working, though.

  • Array from index 1 to x

    Hi
    is there a way to create arrays from index 1 to something, like
    double[][] data = new double[1:2][1:64]I can, off course, create an array like
    double[][] data = new double[3][65];
    but this will cost me a lot of rewriting.
    Luca

    > double[][] complex = new double[2][<huge number>] >changing the 2 into a 3 would increase the array a lot, and slow-down the program even more memory).
    Well, if you really have to, you could always do this -- double[3][] = { null, new double[<huge number>], new double[<huge number] }; This way it would only cost you one 32 bit reference. I don't find it very elegant though ...
    kind regards,
    Jos

  • Exclude individual computers from a GPO using WMI Filter

    I understand I can use security settings to Deny Apply Group Policy to certain users thus excluding them from a GPO, but I'm wondering if I can use a WMI filter to exclude certain computers from a GPO that contains only Computer Configuration policies.
    Root\CimV2; select Name from Win32_ComputerSystem where (Name <> "COMPNAME")
    This would evaluate to True on all except the COMPNAME computer and therefore should exclude the COMPNAME computer.  Could this be expanded to exclude a second computer with: Or Name <> "COMP2" ?
    Is this correct?  Has anyone else gotten this to work?
