Exe or some other file

I was wondering if this is possible.
I created a 2 page program in coldfusion. It requires alot of
math processing and I was wondering if these two pages can be
compliled as an exe program to be run on a computer without haveing
to rely on the CF server to do the processing.

Craig

No, you can not compile CFML into in .exe. As mentioned, CFML
is
compiled into Java bytecode so you get that performance after
the page
is run once.
But you feel you really, Really, REALLY need an exe. You can
write the
code in a language that does create a .exe file. Then you
could use
this file with either a <cfexecute ...> tag or possibly
a <CFX_...> tag,
depending on how you wrote and compiled the code in the
other
language. I beleive the <CFX tag would be expecting a .dll
vs a .exe)

We have the same problem every time we send out an email with attachments.
BTW, the ATT prefix on every file has nothing to do with you ATT card. It's just the naming convention used by Mail.app for ATTachment.
Now, can someone tell us how to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

  • Is there a way to compare the contents of a library by comparing itl files or some other files?

Is there a way to compare the contents of a library by comparing itl files or some other files?
I need to compare the contents of my current library to one that existed 2 months ago but ALL I have is the itl file from 2 months ago.  Can this be done?

You are correct, many people have noticed over the years that Sound Check does not work as advertised.
A more effective approach is to treat the files with a 3rd party volume normalization program. Although I have not personally used it, many users on this Forum have reported good results from an inexpensive program called iVolume.

  • Corrupt logs & some other files.

It's a pity that my first post will be about a problem, but I don't have time for long introductions. So, Hi, I'm new here.
I've got two problems which might be related somehow, but I will post them in two separate threads. (This is the other one - X wont start.)
Some files in /var/log are corrupted. This is how it looks like:
    /var/log # file *
    ConsoleKit: directory
    Xorg.0.log: ASCII English text
    Xorg.0.log.old: data
    auth.log: data
    btmp: empty
    crond: data
    daemon.log: data
    dmesg.log: ASCII C++ program text
    errors.log: data
    everything.log: data
    faillog: data
    kernel.log: data
    lastlog: data
    messages.log: data
    mpd: directory
    old: directory
    pacman.log: ASCII English text
    pm-powersave.log: ASCII text
    pm-suspend.log: ASCII text
    syslog.log: data
    user.log: ASCII text
    wtmp: data
These files should contain text and should not be recognized as 'data'. Instead, some are normal, some contain non-textual data.
I discovered this after X was not starting and I checked the Xorg.0.log file. 'less' warned me that the file might be binary and indeed it was gibberish. It even contained some log entries which weren't normal xorg logs, but looked like the output I get when the kernel loads. Then I found most of the files in that folder are not ascii text as they are supposed to, but 'data' and even more corrupted.
On my home partition I only found that viminfo got corrupted twice, again containing some random stuff which should be in other files.
I ran the system rescue cd and fsck'ed both partitions (ext3), but it says there are no problems.
Now here is the connection to my second problem. X sometimes won't start, I get a black screen and I need to power down by holding the power button. After I restart the xorg log is corrupted. If X starts correctly, the log is normal. Could it be that this hard shutdown while the files are open for IO corrupts them? This sounds plausible to me, but such thing never happened to me before.
    Thanks for your time.

djszapi wrote:1. "On my home partition I only found that viminfo got corrupted twice" Sometimes, it occurs by me too, I delete this file then, but it's a rare situation
    2. "I ran the system rescue cd and fsck'ed both partitions" -> Did you get any direct filesystem error message from the system?
    3. What happens if you try to delete the corrupted files and restart ? Does it become corrupted too every time?
4."X sometimes won't start, I get a black screen and I need to power down by holding the power button." -> Which driver/kernel/xorg version do you use ? I've experienced such a situation with the nvidia-185.18.31 driver.
Thank you for your quick response.
    1. Is it safe to delete the corrupted files in /var/log? I already deleted viminfo after it got corrupted the first time, but it happened again.
    2. In the rescue cd, fsck quickly said "it's ok" without checking. Is there a way to force it to check? The man page doesn't say. The longer check I get sometimes when booting ("hasn't been checked in the last X mounts yadda yadda") shows only "fixed write time in the future" from time to time.
    3. The Xorg.0.log particularly gets corrupted after the hard restart that I issue when X fails to start and a black screen locks up the pc.
    4. xf86-video-ati is 6.12.2-2, kernel26 is 2.6.30.4-1. xorg-server: 1.6.3-2. The black screen issue will be (I hope) solved in the other thread I made (link in first post), but I have the suspicion that both problems are very closely related (one is the cause for the other, or some sort of vicious circle.)

  • Change Java.exe to some other name

I have jdk1.6.0 installed on my machine with jre1.6.0
when i am running any application its process is running default java.exe
    java.exe in Task Manager.
How to change the java.exe name to java1.exe .

Rename the exe on the disk.
There are utilities in Unix which allow you to change the name a process appears to have. But since you said .exe, I guess you're using Windows.
I've done this very successfully before. I have n batch files as part of a product which start different components of the project, each one does something like this...
    if exists ..\jre\bin\blah.exe goto blahexists
    copy ..\jre\bin\java.exe ..\jre\bin\blah.exe
    :blahexists
    ..\jre\bin\blah.exe -cp blah blah
In that way, each batch file can dynamically create a new .exe as approprate and the Windows task manager will show you blah.exe (and foo.exe and myserver.exe) instead of java.exe, which means you can kill them! :-)

  • Create exe with some vi files

    Hello,
    I am using LabVIEW 2010
I am trying to build a "Main.vi" into an exe, in which this Main.vi needs to dynamically call two vi "1.vi" and "2.vi". I have put  into "always included" before building the exe. But after creating exe "1.vi" and "2.vi" don't run.
    Solved!

Just to show what Norbert is saying.  You should get in the habit of using relative paths.  They will save you a lot of headaches down the road, especially if you are dynamically calling VIs inside of EXEs.

  • Data Recover From Formatted Drive? What is the best program to use to get back Logic Projects and any other file type?

I was in the process of reorganising my hard drives so I could RAID them however I managed to corrupt one drive and had to format it which meant I lost all my Logic Files and some other files. I managed to save a lot of files (mainly video files) before I had to format the drive but I need a Data Recovery service that will not alter anything on the hard drive and will put all the formatted files (regardless of the type) back for me so I can get the rest of the ones I need.
    Thanks in advance.

    What about folders and such?
No. FS doesn't reconstruct folders. However, Data Rescue does, depending on how you use it. About the only thing in Data Rescue a Quick Scan ever seems to show you are files that are already live.
So that leaves you with a Deep Scan, or a Deleted Files scan. The first pass of a Deep Scan will attempt to retrieve folders and files, along with their original names. The second pass only looks for file patterns. Like recognizing a Photoshop .psd file. It will recover it, but give it a nonsense name. A Deleted Files scan only results in nonsense names of recognized file types; no folders.
What were you using File Salvage on? A hard drive?
Yes, though you can use it on a flash drive, or any other mounted drive.
At the moment it is estimating 289 hours remaining on a 1TB drive. Can it not go faster?
No, both of the software mentioned are slower than molasses in January. When you delete anything in Windows, its file table entry simply tagged as deleted. So to unerase them, the tag is removed. That's why it works to quickly and easily (assuming you haven't already overwritten the data to be recovered).
In OS X though, the whole idea of the underlying UNIX structure is all about security. It's not supposed to be easy to retrieve deleted items. When you delete items, their file table entries are erased. So the only way to find deleted items is to scour the entire drive for BOF (Beginning Of File) markers that don't have a matching starting block to anything that is in the file table.
Another question, half the drive was empty. Will it fly over that empty space or will it sieve through it incase there was some files stored on it?
If you use the Expert mode is FS, you can choose to do that:

  • Firefox-wraped.exe what is this FILE? Please explain it to me

When i try to run firefox that's the file name and ask me for permit ion to open it that never happen before ... is it normal?

I think uninstalling and reinstalling might be necessary, but first, can you check your Firefox shortcut properties? If you right-click the desktop shortcut, and choose Properties, the Target should be:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
If the other file is listed there, try changing it back to the default. Not sure it will stick, but it's worth a try.
If you do uninstall, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
When you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Make sure to get your new Firefox from the source: http://www.mozilla.com/
    Good luck.

  • Verbatim disk drive historically used only for time machine backups. Recently i added some other media files to use some of available space without partitioning, the disc now refuses to mount in finder despite appearing in disk utility. Repair fails. HELP

Sorry to elaborate a bit more.
I have used time machine since owning my mac book pro with no issues. i keep the timemachine backups on an external hard drive made by Verbatim. This has not external power source.
Recently i decided to use up some of the available space on the external verbatim disk drive to store some movie files which were sitting on my macbook pro.
Therefore i created a new folder outside of the time machine backup folder and stored the movie files in there.
From then on Time machine failed... and a few days later i noticed it was not mounting in 'finder'
Therefore i used disk utility to see if it was recognising it. Which i was. However when i try to repair it the repair process fails.
In disk utility i am presented with 1 TB Samsung HN M10 which has a child called Verbatim HD.
The 1TB Samsung hardware appears fine, but the verbatim disk i am unable to fully verify and fix.
Does this mean i have lost all my back ups?
Have I lost all the media that i put on there?
Is there any way to fix this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    didier07...

To summarize: You used an external Verbatim HD for your TM backups. Then, you stored some movie files on the "spare" space on the Verbatim drive. Now, Disk Utility isn't being recognized, and repair is disabled. Your home Samsung drive is working fine, but the Verbatim cannot be verified.
The problem, I believe, is that the external Verbatim drive wasn't partitioned. There should be two partitions: one for TM backups, the other for video. That way, you can perform backups, and still retain some space for video or somesuch.
Frankly, I don't know how to fix this except through the following. (1) Erase the Verbatim drive, (2) Create a new blank space and format it, (3) Make two partitions - one for backup, the other for video. (4) Run TM through one partition, but switch to the other for your videos.  The better solution might be to have one dedicated drive (perhaps the Verbatim) for backups, and another dedicated drive for video backups; that way, you'll have plenty of space for expansion.
I hope someone will correct me if I'm incorrect, but I believe you've essentially lost your backups and media. I don't know how you can retrieve that clump of the now-undifferentiated data on the Verbatim drive. To retrieve any lost data, you're going to require another external drive that's larger in capacity, as well as data recovery software; don't expect encouraging results. If you're desperate, there are firms like Drive Savers that can offer a more comprehensive solution - at a cost.
Post if you have questions, or additional concerns!

  • Error maximum number of files already open error. No Other files can be opened or printed until some are closed

    Hi everyone,
While opening a file in Adobe reader 10 in Windows 7,I am getting the error as
"The maximum number of files are already open.No Other files can be opened or printed until some are closed."
Can Anyone help or suggest a setting for this ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Omkar

    Hello omkar841987,
Could you please let me know how many files have you opened simultaneously.
This count will include files that are being displayed as well as opened (without being shown in the viewer).
Using Reader, you cannot make any setting for the same, but close some of the files before crossing that limit.
It also depends on your OS and memory size as you would need enough memory to open many files at a time.

I have developed a tool which does some processing on input files from a folder.till now the files were there in my system. Now i have to read these file from some other computer in lan.How do i go about this?

Well, how can you be sure with what little specsare

should also learn to communicate the requirements and

If he already is a programmer, it seems reasonable to
me to expect him to tell us what we need to know
without us having to ask. To me, it's a sign of
professionalism, and that he actually bothered to
shed a thought or two of his own at the question.-- The big picture has been given,,, there's a lot of way to connect from one PC to another,,, like URLConnection, HttpConnection, ServerSocket, Socket, DatagramPacket, DatagramSocket, DatagramSocketImpl, HttpURLConnection... the entire "java.net.*"..
so it's up to you to choose....

Some PDF files and other emails do not display the whole page. Is there a way to change that?

If an app does not behave as expected, try closing the app completely and reboot the iPad. It appears as though you have the original iPad. It helps if you list your iPad model and the iOS that you are running.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Why can I highlight some pdf files and not others

Highlighting only works on text documents; a scanned document (image) cannot be highlighted.

  • Some pdf files cannot be read by eReaders other than Acrobat

I have several books in pdf format.  All, including the attached, read perfectly in Acrobat and all, except the attached, read perfectly in various eReaders.  The attached file, however, cannot be read by any reader other than Acrobat and cannot be imported into Calibre and converted to any other format.
What is unique about this file?
I can not find any way to attach the file.  Please post instructions.
    Using Windows 8, Adobe Reader X 10.1.8,

You cannot attach PDF files to the forum, only images (e.g. screen shots) and not at all in an email reply.
To share a PDF put it on acrobat.com, your own web site, or a file sharing site, and reply with the URL.
What does Adobe Reader X say for Document Security (under File > Properties)? The SECURITY METHOD is the key information. You are quite correct that some PDF files use security methods which lock them to Acrobat.
