Executing multiple methods off of one button

Hi,
I have a parameter form based on the bind variables of a view object and I am trying to execute a second method via the "ExecuteWithParams" buttons.
I have included an <f:actionListener/> within my command button so my current button code is as follows:
<af:commandButton actionListener="#{bindings.ExecuteWithParams.execute}"
text="Submit"
disabled="#{!bindings.ExecuteWithParams.enabled}"
action="Go" partialSubmit="false">
<af:setActionListener from="#{bindings.Param1.inputValue}"
to="#{Input.Param1}"/>
<af:setActionListener from="#{bindings.Param2.inputValue}"
to="#{Input.Param2}"/>
<af:setActionListener from="#{bindings.Param3.inputValue}"
to="#{Input.Param3}"/>
<af:setActionListener from="#{bindings.Param4.inputValue}"
to="#{Input.Param4}"/>
<f:actionListener type="model.InputBean"/>
</af:commandButton>
model.InputBean:
public class InputBean extends AppModuleImpl implements ActionListener{
....... (includes sets and gets for Input.Param1-4)......
public void processAction(ActionEvent e){
FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
ValueBinding vb = fc.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{data}");
BindingContext bc = (BindingContext)vb.getValue(fc);
DCDataControl dc = bc.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl");
ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule)dc.getDataProvider();
AppModule service = (AppModule)am;
service.Method(Param1, Param2);
The service.Method() is called but errors out with a nullPointerException at both parameters.
I've hard coded the method and found it does work, I am just having trouble passing the variables in to start with.
The setActionListeners within the button code are so I can pass the values that are entered in each Param to the next page, I thought I might be able to
use these to set the Params for service.Method() but it seems this isn't happening.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,

Hi,
That has helped, I was able to execute my second method and redirect to the other page on the one button submit
but now my view objects that I dropped from the data control palette don't return any rows.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Not sure what I did, but it started working!

  • Multiple click points for one button and movie clip

    I am trying to make a single button into a multiple click
    point. I have a movie clip on the stage and I have an invisible
    button over it. The movie clip consists of a single timeline that
    has an ambient animation running and looping intially. I have three
    more labeled sections of that timeline that each contain a
    different animated sequence as click point animations for that
    movie clip. I want the user to click on the button on the stage and
    the first labeled click point animation of that movie clip will
    play. I want that action to be stored so that when the user clicks
    again then the second labeled click point animation will play then
    they will click for the third in the same way. In between user
    clicks I want the ambient animation loop in the beginning of that
    movie clip timeline to play. When the user has clicked the 3rd and
    last animated sequence then the whole thing will reset and be
    available again. Can anyone let me know how that can be
    accomplished. I originally scripted it through tell target to play
    the first but I don't know how to move forward. Thanks!

    What version of Flash are you using? Telltarget is very
    old... try something like this:
    // array of the animations
    myAnims = ['firstAnim','secondAnim','thirdAnim']; // these
    are also frame labels
    // your current animation index in the array, arrays start at
    0,
    // so we start at -1 which is like before anything
    currAnim = -1;
    // function to play the next animation
    function nextAnim(){
    // add one to the current animation index
    currAnim++;
    // if you've reached the end of the array, start back at 0
    if(currAnim >= myAnims.length)currAnim = 0;
    // now tell the MovieClip to play based on the value of the
    current array index
    myMovieClip.gotoAndPlay(myAnims[currAnim]);
    Then on the button you just put:
    on(release){
    nextAnim();
    And at the end of each animation on the timeline, put:
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    And at the end of the ambient loop at the beginning I guess
    you have that, too, so it loops.
    Hope that helps

  • How to execute multiple sql query in one time?

    HI
    I'm trying to convert my sql project In Oracle. In sql i could run multiple select statement/query in once and they return in multiple table result respectively. but in oracle its not executed.
    like:
    sqlQry := "Select * from abc; select * from qwe; select * from kkk; select * from xyz"
    its return 4 table abc, qwe,kkk,xyz to my dataset result
    how it is possible in oracle 10g

    its return 4 table abc, qwe,kkk,xyz to my dataset result That is pretty much a hack - there are no ANSI SQL standards supporting this syntax. It makes no sense either.
    If you want to combine 4 data sets, there are the UNION and UNION ALL set commands.
    If you want to create 4 cursors with a single call, then use the following (anonymous PL/SQL block) call:
    begin
      open :c1 for select * from abc;
      open :c2 for select * from qwe;
      open :c3 for select * from kkk;
      open :c4 for select * from xyz;
    end;Bind 4 client cursor variables to the ref cursors c1 to c4 and make the call to Oracle.
    And I suggest that you read up on Oracle concepts and fundamentals as your approach with you "sql project" shows ignorance in this regard.

  • Executing Multiple SQL queries in one connection

    I'm trying to do, 2 queries in a single connection to my MySQL database.
    At the moment I'm just passing a String into execute query.
    I want to do another check in the database just after I get the first query's results.
    Right now, I'm closing the connection and creating a whole new one again as it doesn't seem to work otherwise.
    Do I just need to create a new "Statement" & "ResultSet" and then do my thing within the connection brackets?
    I did that but was getting no response. Perhaps I'm missing something?
    Code to SELECT all Documentaries from the database:
    String getDocs = "SELECT * from podDir WHERE genre='Documentaries'";
        try {
          Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/jspod", "root", "pass");
          System.out.println("got connection");
          Statement s = con.createStatement();
          ResultSet r2 = s.executeQuery(getDocs);
          while (r2.next()) {
            out.println("<TD>" + StringUtil.encodeHtmlTag(r2.getString(1)) + "</TD>");
            out.println("<TD><A href='" + StringUtil.encodeHtmlTag(r2.getString(3)) + "'>" + StringUtil.encodeHtmlTag(r2.getString(2)) + "</a></TD>");
            out.println("<TD>" + StringUtil.encodeHtmlTag(r2.getString(4)) + "</TD>");
            out.println("<TD>Subscribe</TD>");
            out.println("</TR>");
            out.println("<TR><TD></TD><TD>" + StringUtil.encodeHtmlTag(r2.getString(6)) + "</TD>");
            out.println("</TR>");
          r2.close();
          s.close();
          con.close();
        catch (SQLException e) {
        catch (Exception e) {
        }

    Thanks ram..
    I'm now finding I'm facing a situation, however where
    I need two executions ongoing at one time.
    I need to select all listings from a directory table
    and then check if the person logged in has subscribed
    to that listing from a "Mysubs" table concurrently to
    display "You are/not subscribed to this
    listing".
    Is it possible to have two ongoing executions?Some would prefer to do all that in a single query - but then one has to be pretty good in sql for that.
    You can do the stuff with 2 or more queries too. Open a Connection, create a PreparedStatement(or a Statement) with your first query for the listings. Get the result set, hold the output in a ListingModel object. You would then close the result set and the statement and then open new ones for your second query which can be supplemented with data from the model object. Or you can retrieve the entire data and compare with the listing info in the ListingModel object. Close everything in a finally block.

  • Multiple event handlers for one button

    I'm trying to create a button with 2 event handlers, such
    that when you roll-over the button, a submenu pops up, and when you
    click the button, you go to a certain frame. I feel like this
    shouldn't be hard at all, but it's not working. Below is the
    actionscript I have tried. Both event handlers work as I want them
    to if alone, but the on(release) functionality does not work when I
    try to put them together.(I have Flash 8). Thanks for your help!
    on (release) {
    _root.gotoAndStop("one1");
    tellTarget (_root.navigation) {
    gotoAndStop (1);
    on (rollOver) {
    this.gotoAndPlay("links");
    tellTarget (_root.navigation.introduction) {
    gotoAndStop (1);
    tellTarget (_root.navigation.overview) {
    gotoAndStop (16);
    tellTarget (_root.navigation.coronary) {
    gotoAndStop (1);

    this code is ok, it seems that when u rollover on the button,
    the event is fired and it keeps on running the time u r on it. i
    think just add
    delete this.onRollOver inside rollOver event.

  • How to execute multiple queries in one stored procedure.

    Hi,
    I am Kumar,
    How to execute multiple queries in one stored procedure.
    here is the my requirements,
    1. get the max value from one table and sum of the that value.
    2. insert the values and also sum of the max value.
    using stored procedure
    I am using SQL server 2000 database.
    Please help me.
    Advance thanks
    by,
    Kumar

    This is not a java question and it is not even a problem: your only problem is
    1) lack of knowledge
    2) lack of interest to find a manual
    But you are going to have to change both by actually reading a book or a manual that explains the stored procedure language of SQL Server. It is the same as Sybase I think, so you could also look for a manual for that DBMS.

    I have an Airport express in my living room, but i want to have wireless music in my kitchen and bedroom. Would i need to buy an amplifier and connect it to the airport or can i play multiple speakers off one Airport OR should i buy multiple Airport's to achieve this?

    You can either use multiple AirPorts or use an audio system that pipes music to speakers throughout the house.

  • Once bootcamp is installed on my Mac, how easy is it to go back and forth from windows to Mac? Just a press of button or do I have to completely log off of one to go to the other?

    Once bootcamp is installed on my Mac, how easy is it to go back and forth from windows to Mac? Just a press of button or do I have to completely log off of one to go to the other?

    Using vitual machine programs (VirtualBox, Parallels, VMWare Fusion) you can run both at the same time.
    Load Windows under BootCamp.  Then load the VM software and select the existing BootCamp partition as the "virtualized space".
    But ... BootCamp first, following Csound1's advice about backups.  And you will wantto boost RAM most likely because you need to allocate certain amount of system RAM to each "virtual machine", as well as leaving some for OSX.
    But ... BootCamp first.

  • SQL Developer cannot execute multiple queries in one connection

    Hi,
    Using : SQL Developer 1.2.29.98, Oracle Database 9i on Windows XP.
    Currently I have TOAD and PL/SQL Developer to handle things related to Oracle Database.
    I found this SQL Developer tools as an interesting tool which might replace PL/SQL Developer (I assume).
    I opened two SQL Worksheets and tried to execute 2 queries (time consuming one) simultanously, suddenly it freezes (the window become grayed). Just like TOAD, we cannot smoothly execute multiple queries on single connection on SQL Developer
    I can monitor the query process using TOAD (Session Browser) and found both queries are running while SQL Developer window become grayed and seems not functioning. After the queries have been finished, I mean both of them, the SQL Developer window become normal and "alive" again showing the expected results.
    Well, however PL/SQL Developer could handle this. Executing multiple queries in single application is just its unbeatable features.
    We can view the query result once its finished instead of until the others being processed, by just only switch the SQL Windows.
    Is it true that SQL Developer doesn't support executing multiple queries?
    Or is it a feature which we should request?
    Or we have to activate this feature by doing some changes on configuration / preferences?
    (Do we need to open two SQL Developer instances? what a memory consuming solution).
    Regards,
    Buntoro

    SQLDeveloper connections are single threaded and also rather single minded (in that you can't do much else while a long query is running.)
    There is an existing feature request http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=42626:39:3685254426061901::NO::P39_ID:4202 for which you can vote.
    The workaround is to have multiple connections. Not brilliant but it works.

    Sure thing.

    Gotcha.
    > But I want the user to be able to hit the button again

    You're in luck, because this isn't very hard to do. The main
    thing to
    keep in mind is that each instance must have A) its own
    unique instance name
    and B) its own unique depth. In your example, the instance
    name is filled1
    and the depth is 5. The next clip's instance name should be
    filled2 at a
    depth of 6. Then filled3, depth 7, and so on. You can use a
    single
    variable to handle the incrementation.
    // code in a frame
    var counter:Number = 1;
    // code on your button
    on (release) {
    attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter, counter +
    4);
    With me so far? The variable counter contains the numeric
    value 1. The
    second parameter of attachMovie() is provided with a
    concatenation of
    "filled" + 1, which makes "filled1". The third parameter is
    provided with
    the sum of counter plus 4, which makes 5. Obviously, we need
    a bit more.
    The button must, in addition, increment the value of counter.
    The ++
    operator handles this perfectly.
    on (release) {
    attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter, counter +
    4);
    counter++;
    Now, it seems you also want to position the attached movie
    clip to (370,
    225). Are they call supposed to go to the same place? If so,
    you may use a
    second variable to hold a reference to the newly attached
    clip. Look up
    MovieClip.attachMovie(), and you'll see that the method
    returns the exact
    reference you need.
    // code in a frame
    var counter:Number = 1;
    var mc:MovieClip;
    // code on your button
    on (release) {
    mc = attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter,
    counter + 4);
    counter++;
    mc._x = 370;
    mc._y = 225;
    Make sense?
    > I also want the user to be able to drag these instances
    > around...
    Then you need to handle a few events. You're dealing with
    movie clips
    here, so your best bet is to study up on the MovieClip class,
    which defines
    all movie clips. (Note, also, that the TextField class
    defines all input
    and dynamic text fields; the Sound class defines all sounds,
    etc. This is a
    very handy arrangement of the ActionScript 2.0 Language
    Reference.)
    // code in a frame
    var counter:Number = 1;
    var mc:MovieClip;
    // code on your button
    on (release) {
    mc = attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter,
    counter + 4);
    counter++;
    mc._x = 370;
    mc._y = 225;
    mc.onPress = function() {
    this.startDrag();
    mc.onRelease = function() {
    this.stopDrag();
    Easy as that. You're simply assigning a function literal to
    the event
    of each new MovieClip instance as you create it. Take a look
    and you'll see
    each of these class members available to you -- that is, to
    all movie clips.
    MovieClip.onPress, MovieClip.startDrag(), MovieClip._x, etc.
    Wherever it shows the term MovieClip in the Language
    Reference, just
    replace that with the instance name of your clip -- or a
    reference to that
    clip (which even includes the global "this" property).

  • Submiting multiple forms with one button

    I have a form that has a cfform within it. The cfform has a
    cfloop in it that includes an id and a dropdown list box that
    includes a new id. I want to transfer one id to another. I want the
    user to be able to click on one button that would update all the
    rows in the table with the new id.
    If there are 3 rows in the query, the user would select an
    entry in a dropdown for each row and upon clicking on the submit
    button all three rows would be updated with the id selected from
    the dropdown.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for the help!
    Gary

    There isn't a way to set this up using the Paypal payment integrated into FormsCentral using seperate forms for each child, you can set up one form so they can register additional children and then pay in one session, but if you need each child to be a unique form submission it can not be set up to pay for multiple at once.
    Thanks,
    Josh
