Executing Webflow from BSP

Hi All,
We have a strange problem:
Scenario:
BSP displaying Workplace inbox with items.
clicking the item should trigger a webflow, that then starts a bsp page displaying the workitem. We use FM SAP_WAPI_EXECUTE_WORKITEM.
Problem:
When starting it in "Debug" mode, the new bsp pops up, just the way we want it, but when we turn off the debug mode, nothing happens, no bsp is shown. The FM returns no error and the new status of the workflow is correct?

I think the problem is probably in the use of SAP_WAPI_EXECUTE_WORKITEM to start the workitem.
That function module is calling to the SAPGui to start a new browser session on the client to display the next BSP page. This works in Debug, because the debugger causes a SAPGui session to be present. However when running normally, a BSP application can't make any calls to the SAPGui framework (or host any code that does so).
I'm afraid that I don't necessarily have a solution for you. I'm not workflow expert. Ideally what you want to do is trigger the link to the new page via some browser mechanism (navigation->goto_page or a HTMLB:Link). But you obviously still need some of the functionality in SAP_WAPI_EXECUTE_WORKITEM to keep the workflow moving.
This is all guess work, but perhaps if you call SAP_WAPI_GET_WORKITEM_DETAIL you could get the link to the new BSP page. Then after you open the new page you could set the status on that work item manually with SAP_WAPI_SET_WORKITEM_STATUS.

Download to excel in different tabs from bsp page

Hi all,
I have a requirement in which I have to download to xl-sheet in different tabs based on some conditions from a bsp page.
I am successful in downloading data into different tabs.
Now I had written the piece of code required to download to xl in a function module
and I am calling that function module when pressing a button in bsp page.
When I run the fm seperately its working but when I run it from bsp page its not working.But while debugging I found that the fm is being called and executed perfectly without any errors.
But the xl is not being created on our side.
Can anyone suggest me how to proceed on this.

Call ITS from BSP Application

i have created a ITS screen which in turn calls a Abap report
I want to call this ITS screen from a BSP application .

Since it is related to both ITS and BSP i thought i can post it in both. and also i didnt get answers for the queries..... for a long time. Anyhow i will take your suggestion for my future query.
i hv done using iframe to call my ITS application.
I can able to call the Bsp application whichin turn calls its screen abap program.
while executing , the selecting the directory from the file browse pop up doesnt work for downloading the file
becos the client , they will not change the settings related to applet in the internet browser for security reasons.
I hav to make it some how to make it work in the portal which calls this BSP application..
at the moment i mapped this BSP application to the user role in the SUS Portal . but it appears in the SUS portal . but i m not able to click the application and also handsymbol is not seen while bringing the mouse to that area.
Could you please tell me , how to use Action_id for that particular application, Authorisation profile settings.
Kindly give your suggestions asap.

Invoking webflow from JSP

Does anyone know if there is a method for programmatically invoking a webflow from
a jsp? I have a jsp that has multiple "modes", for instance, it posts to itself
and will do one of 3 things "action1", "action2", or "action3".
I want the jsp to mimic a redirect and go to the page associated with action1,
2 or 3.
i saw the method invokePortletWebflow in PortalAppflowHelper but am not sure what
it really does.

Hello,
You should use the webflow JSP tag library to create webflow URLs that
will forward the request to. Look at the <webflow:createWebflowURL> tag.
If you want to do a redirect instead of a forward to the destination JSP,
then set doRedirect="true".
What you would do is set event="mystuff.action1" and you would create a
webflow, using the EBCC, that links the "mystuff.action1" event from your
origin JSP to your action1 JSP page. Similarly for action2, action3.
If you are doing this in the context of a portlet that is in a portal,
then you should look at the <portlet:createWebflowURL> tag. Because the
portlet webflow is executed within the overall portal webflow, you must use
this tag to set the portletId and a few other things. You would create a
separate portlet webflow that would be very similar to the webflow I
describe above.

Passing parameters from BSP to BW report

How to pass parameters from a BSP application to BW in order to execute the BW report

In BW template
a different URL is generated for selection made in each input field.
I have 4 different URL's now.
and when I push the Execute button a URL is generated which looks incomplete and it does not show all the parameters( lot of things are happeninng inside like authorizatins, session handling etc).

How can I do it?

If you absolutely want to do it, you can use vbscript for it (though there are a lot of security contstraints)

When I am executing from query designer, I am getting following error.
Even I can't execute it from another portal where i created source system of BI server.
But i can execute queriew from Query analyser and t-code RSRT.
When I execute from Query desinger the url is as follows.

REP - 300 Error while executing report from Application

Hi,
I have report in Report Builder & for the same report form is there in Form Builder in which parameter page is designed. From application where I am calling report is internally calling form & in form Procedure Run Report is there which is calling report from Report Builder. Both report from builder & form form Builder are compiled . Also query is executing fine in Toad without error. Also all query fields are present in database.
But when I am trying to excute report from Application it is giving error as "REP - 300 Invalid Identifier " & it displays whole query.
Note - Report & it's Form are in ORACLE - 10g. Also the user through which I am executing report from application is ADMIN user , so it has executing permission.

looks like error in parameters. check out the value of variable that you are passing through to report from form. Put a messages to see variable values before execute report.

Calling Z function module from BSP page

i am calling a z function module from BSP application ROS_SELF_REG ,The z function module is inside a z function group,It does not give any sytnax error..but while running BSP application ,it is going into dump saying that Z function module is not found..Any idea why this is happening???

Check whether the Z function module is spelled correctly. Also try activating the whole function group and function module in se80 transaction.
Check whether the BSP application is calling the Z FM from the correct server/client where it is available.

May be you can navigate to another page AFTER the response_complete() method and show the message that 'PDF is downloaded successfully'
or something meanful message. so that it will get a response back from server and 'wait...Processing' message might disappear.
I'm not sure and didnt try..may be you can give it a try and let us know..

Download Text file to Local drive from BSP Application

I am new to BSP, and I am doing a BSP application in which i want to download a text file to local drive C: on click of button. For that I am having a data in Internal table and Onclick event, in model class method DO_HANDLE_EVENT i want to download text file to local machine drive.
Can anybody provide me full code with all data declaration and all?

You can download the file from BSP pages using the method
CL_BSP_UTILITY=>download.
Please follow the below mentioned steps.
1.Convert the text to a text table ie Internal table with a line type char255 or some others.
2.Convert the text table into a string.
3.Convert the string to XSTRING.
4.Download that XSTRING as text file using the method
   CL_BSP_UTILITY=>download.
Parameters:
OBJECT_S    - XSTRING data
CONTENT_TYPE = ' application/download'

You can achieve this by formatting your output using HTML table tag.
Try the following code.
DATA: lv_output TYPE string.
concatenate
'<table border="1">'
'<tr style="font-weight: bold; text-align:center; "><td>Name</td><td width="150">Description</td></tr>' cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf
'<tr><td>First Name</td><td>Some Description goes here..... ....... ...... </td></tr>' cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf
'<tr><td>2nd Name</td><td>XYZ.......</td></tr>' cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf
'</table>'
into lv_output.
response->set_cdata( data = lv_output ).
