Exit WD after Displaying a Success Message

Hello Mentors,
Need your help as I am working on a Webdynpro Application,,
Requirement is something like that on a particular view I have a button Say "Approve" .
Now when clicks on Approve button , I want to display a Success message to the user for his reference that he is done with his approval process & then it should default be exit from WD application.
I tried creating a Window Exit plug & it is working fine but the problem as soon as I click on Approve button , I am exited from the WD application without displaying a message.
I want to display success or error message & then want to exit from WD application.
So please suggest how could I be able to meet your requirement.

instead of calling direct message you can call popup with message in case of suucess full message regiter button in that button action you can call logic to exit application

The user clicks on the item in the list. A confirmation appear and when they click ok,
then the on demand process runs and they are directed to page 1.
This is all working ok.
My problem is that I would like to display a message (a sucesss message) on page 1.
I have an unconditional branch on page 1 with the tick box checked for include process message.
I have tried the following in my application process, but none seem to work.
apex_application.g_print_success_message := 'Application Has Been Reset';
htp.prn('Application Has Been Reset');
HTP.P('Application Has Been Reset');
How can I do this ?

How to stop executing a piece of code after displaying the error message?

I'm new to ADF, I am doing validation in java class. Like when i click the button, the control goes to a particular method, where i have written the below statements

Just add a return; at the point you want to stop execution.

How to display success message when data is changed in the custom tab in MM

Hi,
I have added a new custom data tab in the MM01/MM02/MM03 transactions. Whenever I do changes to fields in the custom tab in MM02 transaction, and no changes in the standard tabs, I will get a message stating "No Changes Made".
But if I do changes in the standard tabs, it works as usual with display of message "Changes to particular material has been done.
Please let me know, if anyone of you know, how to display the success message if the changes to the custom tab is done.

Hi Sudhanva,
The exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_0001 is a function exit that you can use for custom validation but not to add custom tab/screen.
But the message issued by SAP is not related to this Function Exit.
If you have used a Screen Exit, then there must be some Function Exits also in the same Enhancement using which you can assign the value of custom fields to/from the standard structure. Thus when the value of any custom field is changed the system can understand that the some changes have been changed and will not issue the message.
In case you have used a BADI, there can be other methods in the BADi using whcih you can assign the value of custom fields to/from the standard structure. This might also prevent the message from being displayed.
I could try giving you further details if you can provide the name of the Enhancement/BADi that you used to add the additional tab.

Dont think you can use custom message classes in RFC's. Try using a generic message and check if the message is being populated.

How to display the error message on screen in display mode

How to display error message as as status message on the screen(module pool).
The requirement is if I call the screen, it should get with the error message in the status bar. If I write with error message 'E' error mesage information displays and when I click on exit, it lives the current transaction.

LEAVE TO SCREEN XXXX.
After displaying the information message like E, leave to the screen you want to navigate or can also navigate to the transaction required.

u can do it in chanin end chain.
For example if there are 10 fields in the screen and for 5 fields whenever the user enters wrong values u like to give some error message. You can declare that fields in the chain enchain so that only those fields will be input enabled and all other fields will disabled.

How to display success message after Remote service call

I am currently using Flex form for adding/updating user
personal details.On submit button click ,i am submitting details to
server by calling RPC remote service.For calling remote service i
am using penneframework. On penneframework, Remote service call
result are populated in RemoteResult object. It dont have any other
event method for handling result event.For errror handling, i have
defaultHandler for displaying error message.
Here i am having two requirements
1. I should be able to track RPC response, so that i can
display success message to user along with DB generated ID.
2. I need to reset all form field after receiving RPC
response.
Here my question is
1.How i can track server response, so that i can display
success or error message.
2. Is their any event or coding technique which i can use for
solving this issue.

How to display Success Message in PDF

Hello all
I need to display a success messgae in ODF. but without he message box.
It should be such that, after the success, the user should not click yet see the success message.
I got only MEssageBox. But that gives a pop up.
Please let me know about other methods.

If you are using Web Dynpro then you can make use of the MessageArea control and display the messages there.
Alternatively if you want to achieve this in Adobe itself then probably you will need to play with a text field and hide / unhide depending upon your execution.
High level steps would be:-
1. Create a TextField / TextArea element and bind it to the success node in your form. Initially you need to hide it.
2. Upon submission, when the execution is complete then unhide it and show the message displayed the response you receive.
PS: You will need this to be an Interactive Form for this to work.

How to display Success Message on the Left side of Screen

I am displaying a Process Success Message after the ApplyMRU process, *#MRU_COUNT# row(s) updated*. By default, this message is displayed at the center of the screen. I would like to display this message at the left hand side of the screen.
I am using APEX 4.0; Theme Sand - 10. I have tried changing the alignment for the success message position in the Page Template – One Level Tabs, HTML Body section. But I am not having any luck.
Does anyone know how to change/override the default position for the success message?

I tried what you suggested and the success message is still being displayed in the center of the page.
I went to Template --> Page --> One Level Tabs. In the Header, I put the following lines before the </head>

.t10messages {text-align:left;}
</style>
</head>
<body #ONLOAD#>
#FORM_OPEN#
I do not have any other custom CSS. Just strictly using Theme 10 - Sand
Any ideas on what else could be the reason?

Report with BDC not displaying success message when run in Background

I am running a BDC report in Background mode.The below statement is not capturing the Success message when a document is posted.But when I am running the same in ForeGround mode it is capturing and is displayed in the output.Can anyone please help me in understanding why this is happening and how can I resolve this.

I think your BDC didnt generated any document when you run it in 'N' screen mode.
Debug your program when you run it in background
Goto Tcode :SM37
Select the job ( march checkbox )
==> in command prompt enter 'JDBG'
==> Then you can start reexecting the job .
You can check the sucess messages accordingly in debug mode
Also add a read statement on messtab for msgtype = 'S'.

Hello,
We can use an exporting parameter like single character field like 'S' for success and 'E' for error instead of a message.
Another option is you can use the Tables parameter and populate Return table with error or success message. Return table of type 'BAPIRET2'.

In the same process, success message looks like:

Even if i set default value in item, it doesn't work. Value is shown in item, but not in message.
Message looks like: Number of updated records: .
Items "Source used" is set to Only when...
If i set it to Always, ..., value doesn't appear in item.
Any idea?

The Custom MRU has to be OnSubmit. I was talking about initialization of the Page Item
To set the value of the item in Session State set the value using Before or After Header Computation or Process.E.g. write After Header Computation for P232_UPDATE_NUMBER > Static Assignment > 0
. I am not referring to Custom MRU.As I said earlier, if your CustomMRU process runs you should see a number >= 0 in the message. You will need to initialize only, to say 0, only for situations when the Custom MRU does not run (condition evals to false).

Display success message when validate is successful

This sounds like the simplest thing but there is no box to put a success message in for validates. I have a text area that resets a database password, I would like to display "password changed successfully" in the region of the page this is on. I've tried setting and clearing some variables but they always seem to be set when I don't want them to be or vice versa.
And yes I am new to this, as if you couldn't tell.......

This should not involve page validations. You should be using a page process to reset the password. Then you can check "include process success message" in the page branch definition.
