Expand Dimension using another dimension Property

Hi guys,
My template has Product in the Rows (User Defined) and Time in the Collums.
The Entity dimension is changed at the context, but I want Currency to show the value of the property "Currency" of Entity dimension.
I've tryed to do this putting Currency at the collum, and trying to filter it by Dimension Property, but I didnt succeed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Adriano,
Simply put currency in the page axis and in the EPMOlapMemberO formula use formula to get a property of entity. Read here: Static report in BPC NW 10

  • Row Axis using dimension property

    Dear All,
    I have a property on the Currency dimension, say "R_Acct", that identifies the R_Account ID each Currency memebr should post into. For example:
    R_account:
    ID  Desc
    UK UK Inflation
    US Us Inflation
    Eur Euro Inflation
    Currency:
    ID Desc  R_acct
    GBP Pound Sterling UK
    USD US dollar US
    Euro Euro CUrrency Eur
    My requirement is to build an input sheet with the R_account and Currency dimensions expanded on the row axis. However, i want to fetch the corresponding R_acct for each currency member to replace the EPMOlapMemberO for the the R-Account dimension. Using the EPMMemberProperty only makes it a local member and does not make it an axis. And when i tried "EPMOlapMemberO(E19,"[R_ACCOUNT].[PARENTH1].[US]","US","","000") the first parameter does not move with the expansion. Kindly help me with this as am not sure which EPM function enables it.
    I appriciate all your inputs. We are on EPM 10.0 SP 12 Patch 9
    Regards
    Seyi Obabiyi

    Hi Seyi,
    You dont require any local members.
    First column will represent the CURRENCY dimension.
    In the second column, get the R_ACCOUNT dimension. In the memberset of this dimension, select "Dimension Property", then select the dimension as CURRENCY, and then select the property as R_ACCT.
    Hope this helps.

  • View dimension hierarchy using the filter property of data form

    Hi,
    I created a data form where I want to show the dimension hierarchy. But when I am filtering the form using attribute dimension then the hierarchy is not being shown in the form.Is their any way so that I can use the filter property also and make the dimension hierarchy visible in the data form?
    Thanks.

    Hi Endy,
    Thanks for your reply. I have used the "equal" function as to set that specific attribute as I am choosing the descendants function against the attribute dimension,it's showing error.Hi,
    What's the error ? You have to use a function, otherwise it will only display the member you picked.
    Actually in our dimension structure we have a 3 generation hierarchy and the attribute is only associated with the 3rd generation member. So we want to display the 3rd generation having the specific attribute "xx" wit the entire hierarchical structure in our data form.
    Can you please tell me if I have missed anything?
    Thanks.If you want to display the attribute value in the form, edit the form, go to the "Layout" tab, and click on your row. On the right side of the screen, you have a section called Display Properties. Check the box called Enable custom attributes, then check your attribute name. Save the form and you will have the attribute value displayed at the right of the member name.

  • EAS7.1 aso dimension property change using rule file.

    I have a outline having 1 dimension "Terms" as a account type and data storage as "data store".Now i am trying to load members using rule file.
    Outline: ABC (Active Alias Table: Default)

    Now i have ceated a rule file using source file like
    "Terms","T1","Terms Hierarchies","~O","",""
    "T1","TOT"," ","~O","",""
    "T1","OTH","","~O","",""
    "OTH","Loaded Days","","~","",""

    "TOT","R99"," ","~ "," "," "
    "R99","R90","","+ "," "," "
    "R90","R901","","+ "," "," "
    i am using parent child relationship and i hav cheched the option s
    like "allow property changes" and allow formula changes....in dimension build settings..the rule shows valid ..but during dimension member load it is giving me the folowing error
    "\\Outline verification errors:
    \\Member Terms has no value source. Aggregate storage outlines require non level-0 members in accounts dimension to be either non-stored members or have internal/external formula.
    \\Member [Terms] has an unspecified error.
    but if i am removing "~O" property with "O" only in data source file then the dimension member load is suuccessful...
    wat i feel is anyhow the "dimension property change is not being set"...
    can any one please tellme wat option i m missig to check in rule file..??
    your opinion and suggestion will be highly appreciated.....

    The documentation explains the difference with examples, now I was going to post the link but I might as well post the info from the link.
    Joining Fields
    You can join multiple fields into one field. The new field is given the name of the first field in the join. For example, if a data source has separate fields for product number (100) and product family (-10), you must join the fields (100-10) before loading them into the Sample.Basic database.
    Creating a Field by Joining Fields
    You can join fields by placing the joined fields into a new field. This procedure leaves the original fields intact. Creating a field is useful if you need to concatenate fields of the data source to create a member.
    For example, if a data source has separate fields for product number (100) and product family (-10), you must join the fields (100-10) before you load them into the Sample.Basic database. If, however, you want to preserve the two existing fields in the data source, you can create a field (100-10) using a join. The data source now includes all three fields (100, -10, and 100-10).
    For other rule options read - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_dbag/ddlfield.html

    I got the following error when I open the Mantein Dimension Property in the BPC Administration panel:
    "object variable or with variable not set"
    I am using SAP BPC 5.1 SP3 on Win2003 and MSSQL 2005 Enterprise.
    Any help is welcome.

    Hi,
       Usually, this error is comming from a wrong client installation or from a client which is not syncronized with the server version. Can you please check this?
    You can just try to reinstall the Admin client component (very fast) to see if this is solving your issue.

    For example, with ACCOUNT dimension, I use the range : "ACCTYPE=EXP"
    Is it possible ?
    Regards,

    A Simple Answer is yes,
    I have used SQL query to mbrAccount table.
    Select * form mbrAccount where ACCTYPE ='exp'
    If you need to get the data out some other way then please explain what is your need and how are you planning to use the data.

    Plz help
    Thanks in advance

    Hello, Kumar,
    I suggest u to use XDIM_FILTER: it has much in common with XDIM_MEMBERSET function, but can filter data records by dimension properties values.
    *XDIM_FILTER PC_ENTITY = PC_ENTITY.properties("CNT_INP") NOT_EQUAL_SIGN "C"
    Insert <> instead of NOT_EQUAL_SIGN
    Hope, that will solve your problem,

  • Dimension property

    Hi,
    In DImension property maintenance screen, I am just getting ID and Length of the properties (even for existing proeprties).
    Has someone experienced the same issue.....Thx

    Hi Deepak,
    I am not able to get you.
    When you click on "maintain dimension property", ideally, you should have 2 columns - "Property Name" and "Length".
    Property Name will display you all the properties which you have maintained, whereas the Length will show the length of that property.
    There will be few properties by default for the pre-delivered dimension types. However, when you create a user defined property, you might not see anything. In this case, you need to add the properties here. Once you add these properties, you will be able to see those when you go to member sheet.
    Hope this helps.

  • Disable SSRS parameter using another parameter value

    Hello, I'm developing using SQL Server 2008 R2 standard edition & I would like to disable 2 parameters (parRestraint and par RestrantPosition) by using another parameter, "Restraint Filters On Off".
    When the user loads the report up, I want the On Off filter to be defaulted to off, and the former 2 params to be disabled, but the default value to be visible for them, which are NDX tuples.
    parRestraint default value =  [Incident].[Incident Restraint].[All] (from MDX dataset)
    parRestraintPosition default value = [Incident].[Incident Restraint Position].[All] (from MDX dataset)
    ANy advice appreciated !

    An additional pierce of information is that the data for the parameters comes from an Analysis Services cube (Restraint and Restraint Position are attributes of the Incident dimension).
    I would like to be able to set a null value for default values of Restraint and Restraint Position parameters, but SSRS won't allow me to do this.
    My code for Restraint default param value
    =IIF(Parameters!IncidentYN.Value = -1,
    "null","[Incident].[Incident
    Restraint].&[UnAssigned]")
    or
    =IIF(Parameters!IncidentYN.Value = -1,
    null,[Incident].[Incident
    Restraint].&[UnAssigned])
    Both example fail. I think that this could be achieved with a relational database as the data source for the parameters, but need someone to confirm this.
    Thanks everyone.

  • Use of multiple property nodes for GUI manipulation

    I have a LabVIEW 6.0.2 application where I'm using 14 different property nodes in the main loop. All of these have to do with GUI - hiding buttons when "X" isn't pressed, disabling and greying out controls if <0, popping one button on top of another depending on the mode of operation, etc, etc. While this works fine, the program is getting slow. I've noticed that using the old 2-D buttons works faster - things update faster and redraw quicker. However, more to the point, I once read that if you have to use a lot of Property Nodes like this, that you should bundle them into a sub-vi, thus replacing what would be Property Nodes with references. How does that make it faster?
    Richard

    Not sure if bundling them into a sub-vi by itself would make it faster. The nodes in the sub-vi would still have to access the user interface thread, and that's where the slow down comes from.
    When I use any property node, I put it in a case structure and only write to it when needed. You just need to be able to detect when the value being written is changed from last loop iteration. It's useless to constantly rewrite the same value (doesn't have to be the "value" property) to the node.
    Bundle them into a sub-vi and put the change detector, case structure and nodes in the sub-vi, this should help speed things up a bit. Assuming of course that the nodes are the slowdown. It may also help clean up the diagram a bit.

  • How can i use another folder to save sent messages...

    hi,
    i want to use another folder to save sent messages as usually send messages are stored in sent folder, but due to some reasons i want to store sent messages into another folder, how can i do this?
    thanks in anticipation.

    You cannot use the local variable of the chart to save anything. You would need to use the History property to save the current data and the TDMS Write will not accept that data type either. You could convert the history data to a 1D waveform data type.

  • Pagination using table growing property and multi-select table issues

    Hi,
    We're using the growing property on a table, thus the pagination is handled by the control it self.
    However, if we want to update some item in the table, in order to get those details reflected, we're refreshing the model, which is performance intensive.
    Is there any way we can update the UI only without creating any UI inconsistencies?
    Another question is that, is there any way to disbale the checkbox on the table items, based on some property from the backend. we tried to use editable property, but it hides the entire row.
    We need to disable the checkbox on the rows for particular items?
    Also, I need to know any resources on the mobile library where I can find the CSS related documentaion.
    Like we need to create a icon + text structure, which controls should be ideal to use? I have used
    <HBox><Icon src="abc"/><Text text="abc"/></Hbox>, but it creates alignment issues. Any ideas here?
    Thanks!

    We are implementing pagination in our application and comparing the scrollable result set approach with using ROWNUM provided by oracle.The rownum approach scales better.
    Does this literrally mean that Oracle stores all the records in client-side memory cache? Well if it is scrollable it has to store all the rows somewhere, that is the disadvantage.
    Can we use fetchSize attribute or any other work around to limit the number of records in client-side memory?No. If you want that behavior that is how the rownum approach works.
    In the above case, when MAX_ROW_TO_FETCH is a large number (say 50000), then oracle will have to create a temporary table in memory with all the 50000 records and then will fetch from that table required records as per MIN_ROW_TO_FETCH.No, that is not how it works, where did you read that?
    In this case, reading rest of the records and storing in temporary in memory table will impact performance. Is my understanding correct or i am missing something here?Your understanding is not correct. The rownum approach does not work the way you think and behaves more like the way you want the scrollable result set to work.

  • Could i use another database

    Im wondering if i can use another database for the workflow engine. I mean it comes with a database managment by default i want to know if a can use another one (SQL server)

    Hi,
    We have been using jtds driver , which is free and the fastest and without any bugs until now, we have been using it for 4 months now.
    The part below explain how to set up your mssql server with jtds driver.
    create a db lets call is bpel
    then run these queries on it. basically to create the tables, these files are
    domain_sqlserver.ddl
    server_sqlserver.ddl
    workflow_sqlserver.sql
    sensor_sqlserver.sql
    located at
    /OraBPELPM_1/integration/orabpel/system/database/scripts
    After that download the jtds driver for sql server.
    We do not use the microsofts jdbc driver for mssql, although we have tried it.
    It doesnt work properly, with the bpel process manager, basically it has some problem with select image and blob types from DB.
    Anyways, the best one we found was for jtds, it works great and is the fastest I beleive.
    We used data direct's jdbc driver but its not free and after doing some benchmark tests we found jtds was the fastest.
    mkdir -p jdbc/jTDS/unzip
    cd jdbc/jTDS/unzip
    download the jtds-1.2-dist.zip from
    wget http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/jtds/jtds-1.2-dist.zip
    unzip jtds-1.2-dist.zip
    cd unzip
    cp jtds-1.2.jar OraHome_1/integration/orabpel/system/appserver/oc4j/j2ee/home/applib/
    You will now have to configure MsSQL in your data-sources.xml file.
    Microsoft SQL Server Database Configuration
    Oracle Bpel now needs to be configured to use Microsoft SQL Server, using the JDBC drivers.
    cd OraHome_1/integration/orabpel/system/appserver/oc4j/j2ee/home/config/
    vi data-sources.xml
    You must then place the following xml within the file:
    <data-source class="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbcx.JtdsDataSource"
    name="BPELServerDataSource"
    location="jdbc/BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow"
    xa-location="BPELServerDataSource"
    ejb-location="jdbc/BPELServerDataSource"
    connection-driver="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver"
    username="BPEL_user"
    password="bpeluser!">
    <property name="serverName" value="server_name"/>
    <property name="databaseName" value="database_name"/>
    <property name="portNumber" value="1433"/>
    </data-source>
    <data-source class="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbcx.JtdsDataSource"
    name="AdminConsoleDateSource"
    location="jdbc/AdminConsoleDateSource"
    xa-location="AdminConsoleDateSource"
    ejb-location="jdbc/AdminConsoleDateSource"
    connection-driver="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver"
    username="user_name"
    password="password">
    <property name="serverName" value="server_name"/>
    <property name="databaseName" value="database_name"/>
    <property name="portNumber" value="1433"/>
    </data-source>
    <data-source class="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbcx.JtdsDataSource"
    name="BPELSamplesDataSource"
    location="jdbc/BPELSamplesDataSource"
    xa-location="BPELSamplesDataSource"
    ejb-location="jdbc/BPELSamplesDataSource"
    connection-driver="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver"
    username="user_name"
    password="password">
    <property name="serverName" value="server_name"/>
    <property name="databaseName" value="database_name"/>
    <property name="portNumber" value="1433"/>
    </data-source>
    Run the BPEL server and everything should work fine.

    The DAQmxBase VI is never called it is only inside the block diagramm!

  • How to use/read a property in a WSDL file?

    Hello list,
    Does anybody know how to use a property (e.g. myapp.host.name) in a WSDL file to dynamically switch between a certain host through the use of a property file?
    My property file would look like this:
    myapp.host.name=<some-ip-address-or-dns>
    myapp.host.port=1234
    I would save this property file as myapp.properties.
    In a WSDL file that I receive from a 3rd-party I want to remove the hardcoded hostname and replace it with my property. For instance, something like this:
    <port binding="tns:DoSomething" name="DoSomething">
        <soap address location="http://abcdks02:1234/avb_xsd/start.edw?MySource=WebService></soap:address>
    </port>{code}
    should be replaced by this:
    {code}<port binding="tns:DoSomething" name="DoSomething">
        <soap address location="http://${myapp.host.name}:${myapp.host.port}/avb_xsd/start.edw?MySource=WebService></soap:address>
    </port>Is there a fast, efficient and clean way to do this? I do not want to use maven2 filtering, because that forces a new re-deployment every time you change the value of the property. I also want to avoid Spring, because we're trying to get rid of Spring in our project.
    What else can I use? I am sure there is a fast and efficient way to do this.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Gian

    Hi biblio,
    I have used the method you have mentioned to change the target end point. And that was successful. Thank you. Apart from this I have another issue. I want my web service read some database related values from properties file only when the web service is deployed. Currently the java application read the database related values in a static block. I have made this java application to a web service. I am new to java and thought of there may be something like ServletContextListener where I can read properties file. This allows me to read properties file only when the web application is deployed.
