Expandable programs

Hi,
I am trying to create a calculator program that is easily expandable to include new maths functions. Is there any way of creating a class derived from my Operator class and getting my calculator program to recognise that it exists without altoring any code in the original program. I am sort of after a plug-in type feature for my program.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Regards

Suggestion #2 is a great one....not easy to do but a kewl way to do it. We use a method like that with our program here - it lets users define the behaviors in a system, then a server program generates new java code, compiles it and the end user can run that version at runtime in the same shared engine on the client side.

    Hi,
    And this has WHAT to do with Logic Pro???
    [Sorry]
    What extension does the file have? If you don't know what an extension is... it's the 3 letters after the period of a file,which descibes to the copmuter what the file type is.

  • Program Needed

    Hello,
    I am required to access HI -RES photos from a data base on line.   They download at a size of 65mb or larger.   When I download them on to my windows 7 platform they come in as .sit or .eps files.   When I try to give these to customers they tell me they cannot get them to work and request that I send them as a JPEG format.
    I first tried to use a program called STUFFIT however this no longer works now.  Someone told me you would have a product I could buy and use?
    Can you tell me why I am not able to view the .sit or .eps files currently and what do I need to get in order to view them and then convert them to a JPEG format
    Thanks
    Mark

    .sit is not a graphics format, it's a compression format. You will need to use the free StuffIt Expander program to decompress whatever is inside. I went to the StuffIt web site and they have Mac versions that work from OS X 10.2 to 10.8, and Windows versions that work from Windows XP to Windows 8, so you should be able to find a free version there that will work on your system unless you have a computer that's over 10 years old.
    After you expand the .sit file you'll have to check the format used by the files that were stored in there. If they used common graphics formats, Photoshop should be able to read them directly.
    .eps is a format you should be able to open in Photoshop and then save again as a JPEG, so you should not need any extra software to convert EPS files for your customers.

  • What's best TextExpander program for Mac ID5?

    I have latest Mac Sys. and use ID5  7.0.2.
    I know there’s a program called TextExpander. But, there are complaints about their new ver. 3 that don’t sound good.
    I'm currently using Typinator which I LOVE - and it works great in EVERY program, EXCEPT that just a few days ago it quit working (correctly) in ID. Don’t know if I got some kind of Auto update that conflicted, or what. Just know that it quit working well a week or two ago.
    ALSO - Spell Catcher would NEVER work right in ID5. It, too, always worked good with ALL OTHER programs. So, what’s up with ID5 and spell catching and word expanding? (I'm mainly interested in word expanding).
    Any suggestions for the best word expanding program for ID5? Or, what can I do to make these programs work good in ID5?
    Thank you.

    I haven't followed the chat on TE 3.x. I'm using 2.8.1 and the main problem I've had in some apps or environments has been the expansion characters getting garbled. I used the option to have the expansion to take place after typing a delimiting character - my delimiters included space, parens, other punctuation - and also retaining the delimiter. When I changed the expansion to take place as soon as the final character of the expansion is typed, it looks like there are no problem areas, except for my having to change my expectation of when the expansion will occur.

  • G3 won't boot.

    I putin a CD. Don't remember which one. And in Startup in Control Panel I said boot the CD. I restarted and now it says
    "This startup disk will not work on this Macintosh model. Use the latest Installer to update this disk for this model."
    That's fine but when ever I restart it says the same thing. And it won't boot the HD anymore. I downloaded a boot floppy 7.6 sometihng or the other and made it on another older MAC but it won't boot the G3. I made sure it was formatted as MAC and not PC but still no good.
    I cleared the PRAM on the G3 and still can't get to the HD. Don't even think target mode works on this old of a machine.
    I can get to open firmware prompt but the command boot cd or boot HD still shows the same message.
    What's going on.
    Thanks,

    Hi Kavan
    There is no 7.6 boot floppy to download on Apple Site.
    You may download a 7.5 Disk Tools floppy via Network Access disk there:
    http://download.info.apple.com/AppleSupport_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-NorthAmerican/Macintosh/Utilities/
    Quoted from Jan Hedlund:
    "It is also possible to build your own tools disk. A Network Access floppy (here) is needed to begin with. Drive Setup 1.7.3 (here) http://download.info.apple.com/AppleSupport_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/Utilities/D riveSetup/
    is a suitable utility in this case. Build the tools floppy like this:
    Download the Network Access Disk 7.5 file. Drag the .bin file onto the StuffIt Expander program icon (provided, of course, that you have this application on a Mac); this will decode the .bin (and, usually, decompress the .sea too). Use Disk Copy 4.2 http://download.info.apple.com/AppleSupport_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/Utilities/D iskCopy/
    (the Make A Copy button) to create a bootable Network Access floppy.
    Download Drive Setup 1.7.3. Decode the .bin file, and mount the disk image. Locate the Drive Setup application inside this self-mounting image (.smi).
    Double-click on the Network Access floppy icon. Open the System Folder of this Network Access disk. Move the System suitcase out of the System Folder, to the floppy main level. Move the System Folder to the Trash. Empty the Trash. The System suitcase would at this point be the only file in the Network Access window. Drag-copy the Drive Setup application to the floppy. Rename Drive Setup; call it Finder instead."
    You may look for a OS 8.1 Disk Tools Disk(for PowerPC) at:
    http://download.info.apple.com/AppleSupport_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Mac_ OS_8.1Update/
    Sorry for that long URL's,hope it's some help for Disk Tools. Should work as a Startup Disk,if you power up pressing C

  • How to reinstall OS 7.5 PM7200/120

    Greetings, Hope someone can help me, I saved a PM 7200/120 system still in it's box from an Ewaste collection event. I have repaired the monitor, and got the system to boot up OS 7.5. There is a lot of garbge (files and applations), and I want to start over with a fresh install.
    I am cluess, were and how do I download the OS and can it be installed via CD or will have to be done on floppys? I also got a DP 2.0ghz G5 from the same Ewaste collection event. That I can use to make make CD's prossess files ect. Can the G5 write to a an USB IBM floppy drive? It's runing OS X 10.5.
    Thanks,

    The complete System 7.5.3 can actually be downloaded directly from Apple via the Older Software Downloads page: http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html .
    Click on the System Software Downloads link. Locate the files
    System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/System_7.5.3_01of19.smi.bin
    System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/System_7.5.3_02of19.part.bin
    System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/System_7.5.3_03of19.part.bin
    etc to
    System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/System_7.5.3_19of19.part.bin
    Please note that Disk Copy is not used in this case. Each download is floppy-sized, but this is only to make it possible to copy the files onto 1.44 MB diskettes for transfers. Alternatively, if the existing system folder has the necessary CD-ROM helper files, it is possible to burn a CD-R (at a low speed) with all nineteen files on a modern computer (Mac or PC) in an ISO format. That CD should then appear on the Desktop on the Power Macintosh 7200/120. Keep the MacBinary (.bin) encoding until on the receiving Mac.
    The idea is to bring all files over to the hard disk of the Power Macintosh 7200/120. Once there, use an appropriate version of StuffIt Expander to decode the MacBinary (.bin). Place the nineteen decoded files (one .smi and eighteen .part) in a common folder. Double-clicking on the first file (the .smi) will mount the entire disk image. The installer can be found inside the mounted image.
    If you do not have an early version of StuffIt Expander for Macintosh: With access to a Windows PC (capable of running a DOS program) with a  floppy drive, you may want to try the following. Prepare an empty PC-formatted  1.44 MB diskette via FORMAT A: in DOS or the "full" formatting option  under Windows. Download the MACDISK.EXE file from http://rrzs42.uni-regensburg.de/Macintosh/files/macftp.html . Run the MACDISK.EXE (DOS) program on the Windows PC. Follow the instructions on screen. The result will be a Mac-formatted (sic!) floppy that can be used on the Mac. This floppy contains a StuffIt Expander installer. Once installed, drag downloaded .bin files onto the StuffIt Expander program icon to decode them.
    Also, if you need a bootable floppy (good idea), a Disk Tools PPC disk image file can be downloaded from Apple: http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English -North_American/Macintosh/System/Mac_OS_8.1_Update/Disk_Tools_PPC.img.bin .
    In this case, Disk Copy 6.3.3 (the Make a Floppy command under the Utilities menu) is used to create a properly sector-copied floppy: http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English -North_American/Macintosh/Utilities/Disk_Copy/Disk_Copy_6.3.3.smi.bin .

  • Validation on AP invoice

    Hi ,
    Client requires validation on AP invoice if purchase invoice value is  greater than Purchase order value.
    For e.g. if purchase order is created for Item1 with 10 quantity and 100 price , total will be 1000
    and purchase invoice is created as
        Item                quantity             Price           Total
    1. Item1               5                      100              500
    and when user creates another invoice for same order as :
        Item                quantity             Price           Total
    1. Item1               5                      120              600

  • Restore Macintosh 6400-200

    Hello all,
                   I have 2 Macintosh Performa 6400/200, 1 of them is working ok, the other one is showing  a Floppy disk with a question mark this is the one I'm trying to fix and I need some help.
    I google searched for solutions, found this site:
    Check spec of 6400/200:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac/specs/powermac_6400_200.html
    Boot Disk:
    http://main.system7today.com/articles/tutorials/disktools.html
    I have an external floppy drive, If I save Disk Tool 2 to the floppy disk, load it to MAC 6400/200 floppy drive and power on, will this help me going theough the Mac system, I need to know what is in that Mac computer before proceeding re-installation OS 7.5.3?
    thanks,

    Hello,
    >does that mean the batteries are ok?
    Try to use a multimeter. The real battery voltage should not be much lower than the nominal 4.5 V DC.
    >I'm using windows for all internet conncetions, download, etc.., the Mac machines are not connected to internet.
    No problem, providing that you keep any downloaded Mac application files unaltered MacBinary (.bin), BinHex (.hqx) or StuffIt (.sit). Do not try to decode or decompress the files on the Windows PC. Wait until on the Performa. Once on the 6400/200, use StuffIt Expander to decode/decompress the encoded/compressed files (drag the files onto the StuffIt Expander program icon). If you do not have an appropriate version of StuffIt Expander for Mac, you may want to try this:
    With access to a Windows PC (capable of running a DOS program) with a floppy drive: Prepare an empty PC-formatted  1.44 MB HD diskette via FORMAT A: in DOS or the "full" formatting option  under Windows. Download the MACDISK.EXE file from http://rrzs42.uni-regensburg.de/Macintosh/files/macftp.html . Run the MACDISK.EXE (DOS) program on the Windows PC. Follow the  instructions on screen. The result will be an automatically Mac-formatted (sic!) floppy  that can be used in a Macintosh computer. This floppy contains a StuffIt Expander installer.
    >Probably need your guidance on where-about is the Disk Tools 6.3.3 located?
    It was a typing error. Sorry! Should have been Disk Copy 6.3.3 (see the second direct link in my previous message).
    >can I use a Floppy disk that was previously used on a windows PC?
    For plain transfers of downloaded files from a Windows PC to a Performa 6400/200, you can use PC-formatted 1.44 MB diskettes. Just copy any files as they are to the diskette. The Mac should have a PC Exchange control panel (in the Control Panels folder inside the System Folder), which will allow the computer to see a PC disk (a PC floppy icon will appear on the Desktop).
    If you later need Mac-formatted floppy disks, you can easily reformat PC diskettes on the 6400/200 (via Erase Disk under the Special menu).
    >I have downloaded "Disk_Tools_PPC.img" into a floppy disk with an  external floppy drive connected to this win7 PC, can I then use this  floppy disk and load it in to Mac 6400 floppy drive?
    It should have been Disk_Tools_PPC.img.bin from the beginning, but Windows may have truncated the name (that does not normally matter; the main thing is that you have not tried to alter the file). Once on the Mac, copy the file as it is to the hard disk. Then, drag the file onto the StuffIt Expander icon. When decoded, you could launch Disk Copy 6.3.3 and create a bootable floppy from the (.img) disk image file.

  • Sims 3 Help!! Can't Make movie!! Sims 3 Support Online won't help!!

    So, I have recently purchased the Sims 3, a fabulous and detailed game but I'm having a bit of a technical problem. In the game, I recorded a clip and went to the Uploads like the Sims 3 handbook said. I uploaded it and went to the Sims 3 website to make a movie. Ah yes, before that, I tried to play the clip on my Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard but it wouldn't play on Quicktime Player. Anyway, I went to the Sims 3 website and looked for my clip. It wasn't there. None of my recorded shots were there. So I went on the README that came with the Sims 3 file and it said that the downloadable product "Perian" would solve the Quicktime problem. I don't think it made much of a difference anyway. Can someone help? *How can I get my clips online or should I use a another-in-game camera. If you have the name of one, do tell.*

    4. Is the originally downloaded file still in its MacBinary (.bin) state?
    I do not know how Mac OS 10.7.3 handles files, but if the PC-formatted (1.44 MB HD) floppy disk is recognised, and if the system allows you to copy a file to this floppy, that method ought to work for transfers. But try to find a way of keeping each downloaded file as .bin (do not decode/decompress any files on the Mac OS 10.7.3 MacBook).
    Alternatively, use a Windows PC for downloads. Copy the (unaltered) MacBinary (.bin) files to 1.44 MB PC-formatted HD floppies for transfers to the PowerBook 190cs.
    Apparently, the PC Exchange control panel is active on the PB 190cs. Once at the PB 190cs, use StuffIt Expander to decode the .bin (drag the file onto the StuffIt Expander program icon, or open it from inside the utility; do not double-click on the file).
    Remember, all nineteen decoded files (one .smi and eighteen .part) have to be present in one single folder on the PB 190cs hard disk before you can mount the entire large disk image.
    In order to test if the transfer procedure works, it is easier to use any small application from Apple's software archive. For example, try to download and transfer Disk First Aid 7.2.2. If everything is OK, you should be able to launch that program on the PB 190cs.

  • Mount a USB Flash Drive

    I am running a 1998 iMac with a PowerPC Processor. It has MacOS 8.5.1. I have a PNY 2 GB USB Flash Drive. How do I mount this.

    The link says it won't work with G3(which is what I have).
    Where does it say that? Both the 8.6 update and the USB Mass Storage Support 1.3.5 are OK for a 1998 iMac (with 8.5.1 right now). Since the USB Mass Storage Support 1.3.5 requires 8.6, install that update first.
    Oh, and I forgot to mention the only means of transporting data is through a CD(which I can burn).
    Yes, you can transfer files on a CD. Use a CD-R (not CD-RW).
    If you are using a PC for the downloads, make sure that the files are kept unaltered. Do not try to decode the MacBinary (.bin) on the PC. Once on the iMac, use an appropriate version of StuffIt Expander (which, hopefully, is there already) for the decoding (drag the .bin file onto the StuffIt Expander program icon). Otherwise, special software (such as TransMac) will be needed on the PC in order to correctly handle Mac files.
    The iMac is not connected to the internet.
    If necessary, that can be resolved within minutes. The iMac has a built-in modem for a dial-up connection, or it can be connected to a broadband router by means of an RJ-45 Ethernet cable.

    hi
    can anyone tell me how to find existing prog in sap, i mean is there any transaction code or anything through which i can know all the existing prog in sap.
    pl help as fast as u could
    thanx
    rocky

    hi Rocky,
    If there are two programs with same functionality they will have the same description . so to search the program based on description ... use SE84 Tcode
    in that expand Programming -> Program Library -> Programs double click on programs and give the description and execute ..
    or else goto TADIR table and give the object type as PROG and execute

  • Upload data through FI transation F-02

    Hey All,
    The requirement here is to upload data through FI transation F-02.
    Using a BDC for the data upload is not suggested for this transaction as the Screen Sequence changes as per the values of the Posting Key ( and in some rare cases according to value of Account ).
    Authorisations for LSMW havent been provided at this site.
    I looked up SDN which showed many threads in which it was agreed that coding a BDC to handle such a dynamic sequence of screens is very complex. Some people suggested BAPIs as an alternative. Namely - BAPI_ACCT_DOCUMENT_POST and  BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT .
    But, when I searched for the BAPI BAPI_ACCT_DOCUMENT_POST in se37, it did not exist. The version here is 4.6c
    Any suggestions ?

    Extra Info -
    The posting keys I have to use are - GL Account Debit, GL Account Credit , Vendor Debit, Vendor Credit .
    And there is the special case of a GL Account mapping to a Sales Order No for the GL Account Posting Keys.

    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>Label</key>
    <string>com.makediskusagefolder</string>
    <key>ProgramArguments</key>
    <array>
    <string>mkdir</string>
    <string>/Users/me/Desktop/ServerDiskUsage/$(date +%m.%d.%Y)</string>
    </array>
    <key>QueueDirectories</key>
    <array/>
    <key>StartCalendarInterval</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Hour</key>
    <integer>2</integer>
    <key>Minute</key>
    <integer>0</integer>
    </dict>
    <key>WatchPaths</key>
    <array/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    When I run this command in terminal, it creates a folder called 08.23.2008. When this script executes at 2:00 a.m. via launchd, it actually creates a folder called *(date +%m.%d.%Y)*
    Anyone have an explanation for this?
    Thanks!

    It may be because launchd isn't really a shell like bash. So it may not expand program arguments in the way you'd expect. Kind of in the same way that cron jobs don't always get the environment variables you expect. But I could be wrong about that, too.
    For sure, a workaround would be to make a shell script and have launchd run that:
    #!/bin/bash
    /bin/mkdir "/Users/me/Desktop/ServerDiskUsage/$(date +%m.%d.%Y)"
    That would expand correctly, since bash would be interpreting the command line arguments for mkdir. Also, it might be easier to do it this way since you wouldn't have to put all your logic on one line...
