Export and Import functionality in WebDynpro ALV

Hi Experts,
I have done a webdynpro alv application and it is displaying the data as i wanted. However i have a requirement to get the alv displayed data in an excel sheet( which works with the export button on alv) and update that excel sheet which will be updated back in the alv table.(for eg any import button functinality on alv)

Hi,
For this you need to use file upload to upload the modified excel data back to ALV. Else why dont you make an ALV Editable.!

Export and Import in Oracle

I need to export users with tables and data from Oracle 8.0.4 and import into Oracle 8.1.7.
But the condition is that we need to retain the Japanese characters.
I did this using simple export and import functions but Japanese characters were imported as Junk.
Can somebody tell me what is the clean way of exporting and importing such that Japanese charaters are not converted to Junk.

You must set the correct characterset before exporting and importing (I don't know which characterset is correct for you, but choosing the same characterset as the characterset of your database should work).
Use NLS_LANG environment variable to do this,
NLS_LANG=<LANGUAGE>_<TERRITORY>.<CHARACTERSET>. On UNIX if NLS_LANG is not set explicitly, it defaults to AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII, that means all special characters cannot be translated.
On Windows NLS_LANG is set at installation time, it corresponds to the settings of Windows itself.

Model Export and Import - Error 40144

I'm trying to transport a model from one system to another and I get the following error when I try the Model export and import functionality in IBP 4.0
"errorCode":"40144","errorMsg":"Repository: delivery unit not found; deliveryUnit: 'SOP_MODEL_EXPORT_DU', vendor:sap.com'"
Steps:
1. Model Export -> Create Export
2. Once the Export is created, I clicked 'Download Deployment Unit' and that's when I get the above error.
Am I doing anything wrong? If so, what is the procedure to execute the model export and import between systems?

It turns out a transportation path has to be set up (one time) from the backend (by SAP) to enable this feature.

I am going thru a code in oops alv where when i click in any of the record in the output list then it shuld go to a transaction where it shuld dump all the field values with respect to the clicked field.
frnds i have used EXPORT AND IMPORT memory concept to get my thing done but i m facing problem.
please help what can be done to come up with a solution.

SQL Developer 2.1: Problem exporting and importing unit tests

Hi,
I have created several unit tests on functions that are within packages. I wanted to export these from one unit test repository into another repository on a different database. The export and import work fine, but when running the tests on the imported version, there are lots of ORA-06550 errors. When debugging this, the function name is missing in the call, i.e. it is attempting <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE> (parameters) instead of <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE>.<FUNCTION> (parameters).
Looking in the unit test repository itself, it appears that the OBJECT_CALL column in the UT_TEST table is null - if I populate this with the name of the function, then everything works fine. Therefore, this seems to be a bug with export and import, and it is not including this in the XML. The same problem happens whether I export a single unit test or a suite of tests. Can you please confirm whether this is a bug or whether I am doing something wrong?

Exporting and Importing of Schema

The Export and Import of Schema is not working consistently in SP4.
When I create a new repository from the schema, all the subtables get created. The main table is has only one field in it. It reads Category.
The other fields in the main table are missing and are not imported during the Import Schema operation.
Has anyone encountered the same issue?
If so, please let me know how you overcame this errorneous behaviour?

I have tried importing without success. The import is not consistent. The same schema creates different sets of tables & fields each time. Sometimes if you reimport some more tables which were not set up the first time gets selected for import.
I did a simple exercise to test the import / export functionality.
1. I unarchived a repository from standard content provided by SAP
2. I exported the schema
3. I tried importing the schema without any modifications to schema
4. The results were highly inconsistent.

Hi All,
I have created a number of custom properties, structures, groups, renderers, layout sets etc and would like to move them from Dev to Test system.
I have found the following in the help doco:

However I am unable to see its functionality in our portal systems (namely the Actions->Export and Actions->Import functions).
Our version of Portal is: 6.0.9.6.0
KM: 6.0.9.3.0 (NW04 SPS09 Patch3)
Therefore we should be able to see it? no?
Are there any special settings to see these buttons?

OK, so in otherwords, it is not available in SP09 and only in SP12+.
So, to "transport" this information I will have to manually reapply thes settings in the Test system!

Export is to take a copy of rule set from CC and export it to a flat file. Same way you can import the to any other environemnt of CC
My second question regarding creating a new rule set for Training environemnt, that you have to create Functions with different names probably you can put "z" or "T"in front of the functions do denote it is for training system and than create it

Hi,
SAP User Administration is the standard way to export and import users in the portal. Using the export functionality, all the user information will get exported, including the roles and groups assigned:

group=Administrators;
If you only want to export the user data without the roles and groups, you'll have to delete these lines.

I want to export a application module and then import it to another application,so deos jsf pages.If I can do this ,then my team could do the diffent work at the same time.one group response for data model then commit as application module,one group for page create and edit and so on .Who has any good idea?

You know a page include a .jspx file,a page definition file and depend faces-config.xml,faces-config.oxd_faces and other I don't know information,so if i only put the first two file into cvs,but how can i get other information in the last two file?When I get the first two file and needed information in the other file,how can i merge these into new project and let jdeveloper "reconize it"?Applicaion is more complex,it not only depend its self java class,xml and many entity object and view object,how to handle the "export" and "import" process?Just like oracle form,only a fmb is enough,database object only need to "put into database","export" and "import" are very simple,so i need jdeveloper to supply these "import" and "export" function.I'm not familar with cvs,does it can know object dependency like application module?if it can,how to let jdev "reconize" imported in object?

is there any possibility to export and import the role and user definitions?
We have a SAP MDM repository with a lot of roles and users and also with a lot of changes.
And now I'm searching for a fast and efficient way of managing the roles and users.

Hi Melanie,
There is no export/import functionality for roles and users. The only way to manage these in an automated way would be to write a program that uses the Java or ABAP APIs. Both APIs expose functionality to create, update and delete roles and users.

Export and Import functionality is useful to make a quick copy of a report from one client to another client, in whichever instance it may be (Dev, QA or PRD), provided you have authorization. This will not be available in other clients in the same server (Dev, QA or PRD) to which the reports are not imported.
The best practise would be to include the reports in a transport request and broadcast to all clients in various servers namely Dev, QA or PRD.
When you are in GR57, enter the report group and click all the check boxes in the further selection. Enter the location and the file name of the destination like 'c:\Mydocuments\Z123' and execute. You can see that in this folder. Go to the other client where you want this report, and type the transaction GR58, copy paste the 'c:\Mydocuments\Z123' and execute. It just copies the report group with all its dependents to this client. If there is already one by that name, it overwrites. Suggest not to do it in production. <b>Transports are recommended</b>.

How to export and import signatures for addon Signature Auto Paste Prefill Fourms?

Working with TB 24.7.0 and add-on Signature Auto Paste Prefill Fourms 4.2. I want to copy (export) the signatures to another computer where I want to import them. The developer of the add-on was not able to help me. The export function gives you three choices of format. The import function does NOT work.
Can anyone provide detailed instructions on how to export and import the signatures from one computer to another? I am using windows XP.
