Exporting and Importing of Schema

The Export and Import of Schema is not working consistently in SP4.
When I create a new repository from the schema, all the subtables get created. The main table is has only one field in it. It reads Category.
The other fields in the main table are missing and are not imported during the Import Schema operation.
Has anyone encountered the same issue?
If so, please let me know how you overcame this errorneous behaviour?

Hi Adhappan
I have tried importing without success. The import is not consistent. The same schema creates different sets of tables & fields each time. Sometimes if you reimport some more tables which were not set up the first time gets selected for import.
I did a simple exercise to test the import / export functionality.
1. I unarchived a repository from standard content provided by SAP
2. I exported the schema
3. I tried importing the schema without any modifications to schema
4. The results were highly inconsistent.

  • Export and Import of Schemas (PY and TM)

    Hi All,
Is there a way to Export and Import Schemas (PY and TM)?
Do exist a report standard, or custom , to do it?
Or if somebody knows all the tables behind a schema.
Because we have tried to load some tables but when we see the schema some description or comment are not shown, and then become difficult to read it.
    Thanks for any suggestion.

  • Exporting and Importing the schema with AQ capability

    Hi,
We have a production DB which is using Advance queuing and this whole queuing is working fine in Prod but now we have a problem in test Env and it seems that somebody has already tampered the test DB. (the queue reads and sends the messages to DB2)
So i wanted to export the prod schema and import it to the test schema that we have.
i wanted to make sure that if i import it to test db , it doesn't send the messages to the prod DB2 database!!
now it should send the messages to the test DB2 database.
How can i see where it sends the messages after i imported it ? how can i change it?
i'm not sure if i have explained my problem in a correct way and if you have understood my question. Please send me messages and i can explain more about it.

  • Sequences incorrect after exporting and importing a scheme

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell me why when we export a scheme and import it again, all our sequences are not correct anymore? Everything else is exactly the same, just the sequences aren't correct anymore.
The last export was done in Oracle 10 and the import was done in Oracle 11. But we had this problem also when we were exporting on the same server.
If you need more information just ask.
    Thanks,

Lookout Datatable object can only read worksheet file, but unfortunately Excel 2007 can not save as worksheet any more.
I have not found a way to use datatable with excel 2007 yet.
One workaround is to use ODBC. Refer to this article.

  • How to export and import dependent tables from 2 different schema

I have a setup where schema1 has table 1 and schema 2 has table2. And table 1 from schema1 depends upon table 2 from schema 2.
I would like to export and import these tables only and not any other tables from these 2 schemas with all information like grants, constraints.
Also will there be same method for Oracle 10g R1,R2 and Oracle 11G.

Looking at this For table mode it says
Also, as in schema exports, cross-schema references are not exported
    Not sure what this means.
As I am interested in only 2 tables I think I need to use table mode. But if I try to run export with both tables names, it says table mode support only one schema at a time. Not sure then How would the constraints would get exported in that case.

import server uses WE8ISO8859P1 character set (possible charset conversion)
    Import terminated successfully with warnings.

The conversion between the character sets on the two servers are handled automatically. Export from one server will export the data given the character set defined on that server. Import into another server will import the data given the character set defined on that server, performing a conversion if necessary. This can be a problem when going from single-byte to a multi-byte character set. In your case, the warning is simply for your information, shoule be no real problem given the character sets you're using.

  • SQL Developer 2.1: Problem exporting and importing unit tests

    Hi,
I have created several unit tests on functions that are within packages. I wanted to export these from one unit test repository into another repository on a different database. The export and import work fine, but when running the tests on the imported version, there are lots of ORA-06550 errors. When debugging this, the function name is missing in the call, i.e. it is attempting <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE> (parameters) instead of <SCHEMA>.<PACKAGE>.<FUNCTION> (parameters).
Looking in the unit test repository itself, it appears that the OBJECT_CALL column in the UT_TEST table is null - if I populate this with the name of the function, then everything works fine. Therefore, this seems to be a bug with export and import, and it is not including this in the XML. The same problem happens whether I export a single unit test or a suite of tests. Can you please confirm whether this is a bug or whether I am doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    Pierre.

    Hi Pierre,
Thanks for pointing this out. Unfortunately, it is a bug on our side and you have found the (ugly) "work-around".

  • Exporting and importing just table definitions

    Hi,
I have this production database that has a huge amount of data in it. I was asked to set up a test database based on the exact same schema as the live database. When I tried to do an export (from live) and import (to test), with the parameters rows=N and compress=y, the target (test database) data file will still grow enormously, presumably because of the huge number of extents already allocated to the table in the live database. My test database of course, has a limited hard-disk space.
Is there a way to export and import the table definitions without having the target database experiencing a huge growth in the size of the tablespace?
    Thanks,
    Chris.

If an export with compress=n is still creating initial extents that a too large, you can still build with the import file but it will take a little work.
    run imp with indexfile=somefile.sql
when imp is finished, edit somefile.sql by:
    1. remove all the REM statements.
    2. remove all the storage clauses (tables and indexes)
Make sure your tablespaces have a small (say 1k) default initial extent.
    run imp again with rows=n
All your tables and indexes will be created with the default tablespace initial extent.

  • Export and Import of repositories

    Hello all,
I was trying to import a repository and reports created on a different BI server. Can anyone help me with the proper steps to do so?
When I try to do the same and open up one of the imported report...it asks me for a dsn name and a driver....It is very well understood that the dsn name and the driver is missing coz the db's in the physical layer are in the oracle db...
But how do I connect when I don't have the table in my oracle db???
Plz help and let me know if its possible....
Any suggestions would be considered helpful...

  • Export and import parameter

    Hello friends,
    DB: oracle 10 G
    O/S: Sun soalris 10.
I have two sun system system both are having oracle 10 g
1 is prod database and another is test database
both the systems having same schema ,I want to make my test database upto date with production database before i used to use the complete export of prod database 1 schema and simply import it into test database but this process is taking very long time as the export dump file size is alomost 2 GB and while importing at the test database the import process is taking almost 5 to 6 hours ,
the test database schema having 10 days old old records when compare to production database.
so I just want to know is there any parameter in IMPORT so that the import process will take only changes information from export dumpfile while importing?
I am using tradition export and import method

    thanks for your reply,
But right now I don'thave datapump export dump file and my production database is at remote place ,
again to take datapump export and copy the dump from netwrok takes again very long time network will also get busy to get 2 gb of file
right now at my place where test db is located I have only tradition export dump file
    any more sujjestion in that

  • EUL export and import

    Scenario:
Installation #1: Infrastructure Repository Database installed along with Oracle App Server etc. The EUL resides on the Repository Database (let's say under schema eul1). The Application Data (let's say in schema - app1) for reporting also resides in the Repository database under a different schema. Business areas and worksheets reside in the eul1 schema.
Installation #2: This was done to separate the application data from the repository data. So now, the application data for reporting resides on another server. A new install of infrastructure/repository/App Server was done. In this installation, the eul1 EUL from installation #1 was exported (using the Oracle exp/imp utility) and imported into the new schema called eul2. The two scripts that the manual suggests were also run. The views that were used to access data in app1 are now pointing appropriately to the new server (where the application data for reporting has been installed).
    The issue:
Using the Discoverer Administrator, I can point to the new installation and view the Business area which seems to have been migrated over correctly. However, using the Discoverer Desktop, I do not see any worksheets.
Please tell me if there's anything else I need to do to make the worksheets available. These worksheets are working great in Installation #1 and are meant for end users to use. At this point, only one EUL is being used.
If there's specific info you would like to have in trying to help me resolve this, please let me know. This is urgent.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Have you exported and imported the worksheets?
Do you see them in the Admin (folder dependencies)?

  • Automate exports and imports (file names)

    Hi all,
I will like to do a simple export and import into another schema in another database.
I am very comfortable with the process but all i require is how to set the dump file and log file names to be the date and name of the database being exported and imported.
For example when I do the export I want the dump file and logfile names to be exp_ORCL_230805.dmp and exp_ORCL_230805.log for database ORCL exported on 230805.
For the import I want the logfile name to be imp_TEST_230905.log.
I am doing this export and import on a windows xp client but the database reside on UNIX AIX boxes.
    Thanks alot

Set up ORACLE_SID before you start the imp/exp session on the client, then you can use file=exp_%ORACLE_SID%_%DATE%.dmp etc. (Note that if your windows locale has a date format w/ whitespace you might have to write a script to get rid of it..)
