Export error ORA-942

I'm on a redhat linux oracle 9.2.0.1.0
I try to export a shema
the ora-00942 appears
ora-00942 tables or views does not exist
exp-00-24 export views not installed...
I run de catexp7.sql and catexp.sql but the message
appears again .
could you help me ?

I'm a new Oracle user so take heed but ...
I think you didn't need to run catexp7.sql since it appears to be specifically for creating v7 style views against v8 RDBMS or vice versa. You stated you are using 9.2.0.1.
Did you run it when connected as SYS or Internal?

  • Import Export Error (ORA-06502)

    All,
We are trying to migrate the code from windows 2000 HTMLDB 1.5.0.00.33 to solaris 9 HTMLDB 1.5.0.00.33 by using the export/import function. After migration, one report went wrong with the following message.
    report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
The tables definition are identical and there's no data in the production table. When we try to reduce the query length from 3000 to 2500 characters, the error message disappears on production.
Is there any HTMLDB global variable controls the maximum length of the report "region source"?
    Any response would be appreciate.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Scott,
Thanks for the response. We've applied HTMLDB version 1.5.1.00.12 on both develop and production servers yesterday but the ORA-06502 error still persist. We've also tried to use package and "pl/sql return sql" instead of a long sql query but received the same result.
The solaris instance is using "Western European ISO-8859-1" as the file character set and the windows is using "Western European Windows 1252". Is there any easy way to change the DAD character set on the production box?
    Thanks,

This seems to be purely a database related issue. You need to extend the tablespace PORTAL to solve the problem. Please contact your DBA for this.

  • Discoverer: schedule workbooks error ora-942

If I schedule the workbook i receive erorr ora-942 table or view doesn't exists. Information is not written into table type EUL... I tried to schedule as owner of EUL
    Could anyone help me.

    Hi,
From the administrator guide (read the lovely manual?? ;-):
Before an end user can schedule a workbook, you must:
configure the database to enable the scheduled workbooks feature by:
confirming that the DBMS_JOB package is already installed on the database and installing the package if it is not already installed (for more information, see "How to confirm that the DBMS_JOB package is installed")
specifying the database user that will own the tables containing the results of scheduled workbooks (for more information, see "How to specify the owner of the tables containing scheduled workbooks results")
setting the frequency of scheduled workbook processing (for more information, see "How to control the frequency that the server checks for new scheduled jobs")
grant the Schedule Workbooks privilege to the database user (for more information, see Chapter 7, "How to specify the tasks a user or role (responsibility) can perform")

    Sabine

    Hello all,

Run the export as the SYS user instead of connecting with the "as sysdba" in your connect string. This is a bug and related directly to the Java. It would take too long to explain the details and I'm not sure if it even matters to you because I'm sure all you want is to export your data and move on.

  • ORA-942 in Export

I'm trying to do an export of a database (8.1.7) from one server to another (9.0.1) I can connect through sqlplus fine but when I try to run the export on the command line, I get the ORA-942 error. We also have a script that we run at night to do the export, and when I try and execute it, I get an ORA-12154 error. I can do the export through third party tools fine, but can't even do it from the command prompt in Windows. Any ideas?

Are you exporting with the 8.1.x export or the 9i exp?
You should be using the 8.1.x exp to export the old database and using the imp from 9i to import (which will do the upgrade etc. for you).

Using SQL Developer, I checked the view SYS.KU$_IOTABLE_VIEW referred to in the error message, and it does indeed report a problem with that view. The following code is the definition of that view. I have no idea what it's supposed to be doing, because it was part of the default installation. I certainly didn't write it. I did, however, execute the 'Test Syntax' button (on the Edit View screen), and the result was this error message:

  • Export failed with error ORA-04063: package body "SYS.DBMS_CUBE_EXP" has er

    Hi
We are having 11.2.0.2 database on Linux 5. From last two days the export backup is getting failed with the below error.
. exporting post-schema procedural objects and actions
    EXP-00008: ORACLE error 4063 encountered
ORA-04063: package body "SYS.DBMS_CUBE_EXP" has errors
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "SYS.DBMS_CUBE_EXP"
    ORA-06512: at line 1
EXP-00083: The previous problem occurred when calling SYS.DBMS_CUBE_EXP.schema_i
    . exporting statistics
    Export terminated successfully with warnings.
When I checked the status of this package DBMS_CUBE_EXP its showing invalid. I tried to compile the body of the package. But it was throwing below error.
    SQL> show errors
    Errors for PACKAGE BODY DBMS_CUBE_EXP:
    LINE/COL ERROR

    SYS.DBA_XDS_INSTANCE_SETS
ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows
I tried to query this view or describe the above view. But it was throwing the same error.

    SYS.DBA_XDS_INSTANCE_SETS

I couldnt get a proper solution from google regarding this view or to compile the above package.
Now we are stcuked without the backups. It would be great if you guys look into it.
    Thanks

mod_plsql: ORA-942 Execute(Temp BLOB) ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
This is the error I get in the Apache log. On the page:
"The requested URL /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server."
I am sure this is just a configuration issue. I installed v1.6 with the http server off the companion cd with the db (10.2.0.1). After I had it working (did not test everything) I upgraded to 3.0.1.
I get this message when I am trying to import an application that I just exported! I am testing this for pushing code up to our production environment.
    My dads.conf file looks like:

I did go in and update the permissions to the wwv_flow_file_objects$ table to give PUBLIC full access to that table to see if that was the problem... it wasn't.
Probably information overload, but just wanted to be thorough. Anyone have any ideas?

I also have another issue... probably more of a clarification....
I run the following to stop the process:
    "/oracle/product/apps/opmn/bin/opmnctl stopproc ias-component=HTTP_Server"
    then
    "/oracle/product/apps/opmn/bin/opmnctl startproc ias-component=HTTP_Server"
But, at that point, it says that opmn is not running.
    So I try:
    "/oracle/product/apps/opmn/bin/opmnctl stopall"
    then
    "/oracle/product/apps/opmn/bin/opmnctl start"
    then
"/oracle/product/apps/opmn/bin/opmnctl startproc ias-component=HTTP_Server" and it still says that opmn is not running.
Once I start running the stops and starts, it will eventually start correctly.
I think that I am trying the steps too fast and that I probably need to wait a bit between steps since that seems to work better that way.
