Oracle 9i export error after running catexp.sql file
After running catexp.sql file in oracle 9i 9.2.0.7.0 as system user,it gives the following error while logging

please help me.............."catexp.sql" is to be run by SYS AS SYSDBA.
You'd have to cleanup any extra objects that you created in the SYSTEM account.
Why did you think that you needed to run "catexp.sql" ? Are you exporting using 9i exp against a 10g database or against a 9i database ? -
hi gurus,
I have read to export properly, we have run this file.
Can you please tell me how to run it.On a no problem fresh installation there should be no reason to run this file. That being said, this file can be run from the command prompt/command shell ON THE SERVER using:
sqlplus "sys/password as sysdba" @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catexp.sql

If you created your database manually, ensure that the catexp.sql or

in my case i install the free express edition, and it installed every thing.

Edited by: 944768 on Mar 31, 2013 6:06 AMHi,
Out of curiosity Just went through the script in question
Many objects are created when you run catexp.sql, so you can open catexp.sql(<oracle_home>\server\rdbms\admin) file and verify the objects in the scripts are already available in your database if its available the script has already been run.
You can find an insert statement at the end of the above script with "EXPORT_VIEW_VERSION', Querying the database_property table gives you EXPORT_VIEW_VERSION
{code}
select * from database_properties where PROPERTY_NAME = 'EXPORT_VIEWS_VERSION'
{code}
Don't know yet some other ways to verify ;)

If not, try running the catpatch.sql script in the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory, as sysdba and with no users connected. -
Running catproc.sql and catalog.sql scripts
hi there,
what is the need to run catproc.sql and catalog.sql scripts after creating the database manually?
please write me the answer.
thanks in advance.CATALOG.SQL script create data dictionary views,
synonyms, tables in your sys/system schemas like
(USER_XXX , DBA_XXXX, ALL_XXXX, V$XXXX .....)
CATPROC.SQL script creates all packages including
their procedures and functions in sys schema.
Both must be run through SYS schema.Apart for this
These scripts executes many Create View statements as well as series of other scripts.
Catproc.sql makes call to several other scripts like
standard.sql: to create datatypes and in-built SQL functions
catexp: to create views used by Import/Export utilities
catldr: to create views used by SQL*Loder utilities
and there many other scripts called too.
Similarly, catproc.sql makes call to .sql and .plb encrypted scripts like dbmsutil.sql and dbmssql.sql to create procedural options and PL/SQL utilities. -
Catalog.sql ; Catexp.sql
I need to run the catalog.sql or catexp.sql.When I run these script, should I run them as sys/pwd as sysdba or only sys/pwd?
The reason I am running the script catalog.sql is to correct an error while exporting. We updated from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7. We have two databases running. Database A has no problems when exporting but Database B was getting error ora-00904 Invalid Column Name.
I researched and was informed that the problem may be that I have to run Catalog or Catexp for Database B. I did run it, but now I'm getting a new error.

Several errors after running catalog.sql
I did a fresh installation of oracle apps EBS 11.5.10.2 on Linux OEL and was trying to do an import/export and it was not working as expected. So after i looked at Oracle's documentation it said catalog.sql has to be run before using the import/export. So i ran catalog.sql first but i did not run it with SYSDBA but ran it as SYSTEM and i saw several errors like access denied etcv. after i ran the catalog.sql i was not able to login via apps or any other user except SYSTEM and was giving me erros like ORA-04065:not executed, altered or dropped stored procedure "SYS.DBMS_SESSION"
After this to fix the issue i ran @?/rdbms/admin/catpatch.sql and @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp as SYSDBA but both executed a lot of grants etc but are haging at some point and not finishing.
The current state of the database is that im not able to login via any user except SYSTEM and i think i corrupted the db dictionary as everywhere i see they say running catalog.sql on an existing database is a bad idea. Can anyone help?Hi Dheeraj,
My db version is 9.2.0.5.0 and OS is OEL 5.7.
The doc where it was mentioned to run catalog.sql before using import/export is below:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96652/ch01.htm
Please do not follow the steps in this link and instead follow the steps in (9i Export/Import Process for Oracle Applications Release 11i [ID 230627.1]).
Currently when im trying to login using apps or any other user below are errors i get.
ERROR:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level1
ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded
ORA-04065: not executed, altered or dropped stored procedure "SYS.DBMS_SESSION"

ORA-06512:at "SYS.OWA_VPD_CTX", line 5
ORA-06512:at "SYS.PORTAL_LOGIN", line 3
ORA-06512:at line 2
Can you pls help me to fix this. The status of the package is invalid and you need to validate it. Connect as sysdba and issue:
SQL> select owner, object_type, status
from dba_objects
where object_name = 'DBMS_SESSION';
SQL> alter package DBMS_SESSION compile body;

Run multiple SQL*Loader control files from command prompt
I have written control files for 15 different tables with specific data files for each table. I have build the control files using toad for each one of them at once. Now I want to run the sql loader for all the tables one time. I know I cannot run multiple files from toad and not sure If I can run from the command prompt.
Please let me know If I can.skvaish1 wrote:
Hi,
On unix you can create a script to runn all sqlldr at once like as followes.
1. Create a script load_sqlldr.sh with following content.
export ORACLE_SID=<YOUR DB_SID>
export ORACLE_HOME=<Your Oracle Home>
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
sqlldr (Full command with parameter for 1st table) &
sqlldr (Full command with parameter for 2nd table) &
sqlldr (Full command with parameter for 3rd table) &
sqlldr (Full command with parameter for 4th table) &
sqlldr (Full command with parameter for 15th table) &
2. Then execute the script.
Regards1. Can I also write script load_sqlldr.sh with following content
sqlldr user/psswd@db_name control=controlfile1.ctl
sqlldr user/psswd@db_name control=controlfile2.ctl
sqlldr user/psswd@db_name control=controlfile3.ctl
sqlldr user/psswd@db_name control=controlfile15.ctl
2. Then execute the script. -
Oracle8i comes with buggy CATEXP.SQL script?
All I want to do is set up a database and import a dump from another database. I'm floored that Oracle would require that you run a script first (CATEXP.SQL) and then to find out there are non-terminiated quoted strings in the script that comes right off the CD. Then to top it off, Oracle doesn't even have the decency to show me which line in the script the problem is in. I MUST be missing something.
NigelHave you tried anything (aside from posting in the forum).
Since you didn't format the code using the PRE (enclosed in [] ) tags i never really looked at it that hard, but i see a AND rownum<20 and NO order by anywhere in your code, do you really want a random distribution of 19 rows?
As for the filtering out 0's, a simple where clause should suffice. -

Whenever an ORA-600 error is raised a trace file is generated and an entry written to the alert.log with details of the trace file location. Starting with Oracle Database 11g Release 1, the diagnosability infrastructure was introduced which places the trace and core files into a location controlled by the DIAGNOSTIC_DEST initialization parameter when an incident, such as an ORA-600 is created. For earlier versions, the trace file will be written to either USER_DUMP_DEST (if the error was caught in a user process) or BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST (if the error was caught in a background process like PMON or SMON). I have an Script mostly that is generated by SSMS which works with-out issue on SQL Server 2008, but when I attempt to run it on a new fresh install of SQL Server 2012 I get an Msg 8631. Internal error: Server stack limit has been reached. Please look for
potentially deep nesting in your query, and try to simplify it.
The script itself doesn't seem to be all that deep or nested. The script is large 2600 lines and when I remove the bulk of the 2600 lines, it does run on SQL Server 2012. I'm just really baffled why something that SQL Server generated with very
few additions/changes AND that WORKS without issue in SQL Server 2008 R2 would suddenly be invalid in SQL Server 2012
I need to know why my script which is working great on our current SQL Server 2008 R2 servers suddenly fails and won't run on an new SQL Server 2012 server. This script is used to create 'bulk' Replications on a large number of DBs saving a tremendous
amount of our time doing it the manual way.
Below is an 'condensed' version of the script which fails. I have removed around 2550 lines of specific sp_addarticle statements which are mostly just copy and pasted from what SQL Management Studio 'scripted' for me went I when through the Replication
Wizard and told it to save to script.

Interactive report run pl/sql by clicking on link column
Hi!
How can I run pl/sql script by clicking on a link column of an interactive report?
AndrasEDIT : Oh sorry don't saw the date, I'm a little late...
Hi,
if you want a link for each row, an other solution is to include the link column in your query, which would be more customizable, ie :
select

How Can I Run a SQL Loader Job from Schedular
How Can I Run a SQL Loader Job from Schedular , So that It Runs every Day.
Depends on a couple of factors.
If you are on a UNIX platform, you can create a shell script and schedule it with cron.
If you are on a Windows platform, you can create a batch file and schedule it with the Windows scheduler.
Or, if you are on Oracle 9i or 10g, you could use the external table feature instead of SQL*Loader. Then you could write a stored procedure to process the external table and schedule it using the Oracle scheduler (DBMS_JOB). This would probably be my preference.
