Export take long hrs

Hi
I export 38 gb db size , but it takes 10 hrs , last time i use datapump export
that one is taking long hrs comparing to exp utility
now exp also taking long hrs , table contains lobs , how i can tune this export
this export is running in oracle 10g version
rds

HI
I read this note from oracle web site that is why i didnot increase the buffer size,
regarding the LOB with direct =y will not support in 8 & 9 version , but i did'nt
encounter any problem so for in 10g , but if you got any information regarding this
lob expotr in 10g with Direct=y , pls let me know
quote from oracle
The BUFFER parameter applies ONLY to conventional path Export. It has no
effect on a direct path Export.
This BUFFER parameter specifies the size (in bytes) of the buffer used to
fetch rows. It determines the maximum number of rows in an array, fetched
by Export.
For direct path Export, use the RECORDLENGTH parameter to specify the size
of the buffer that Export uses for writing to the export file.
Note that when you use Export release 8.0 on an Oracle9i database, then
Export doesn't export rows from tables containing objects and LOBs when
you have specified a direct path load (DIRECT=y).
In my export log i can see the row containg lobs are succesfully exported
--. . exporting table BIZDOCCONTENT 386222 rows exported
This means it is working corrcet
pls let me know

  • Export takes Long... Long... time to get 1080p / 720p video.

    Hello to all Helping Hands,
here is little background of my problem.
I got Sony HDR PJ50e Camcorder which captures movie of 1080p with 25fps.
Sony Captures videos in .MTS format.
I import those files in Adobe PR CS6.1 and I complete my editing and all basic miscellaneous work and finally I come to export part.
(miscellaneous work is something like... creating BASIC Lower Third Effects in AE and importing whole composition from AE to PR directly and nothing else, no color correction, no lightning effects, nothing.)
when I try to export my edited video (which is totally basic) in [1920x1080] [25fps] it takes more than 30Hrs to complete.
definitely my videos are of long duration, more than 2hrs but still it takes long long time.
now a days I face something strange like computer keeps dumping  automatically after I start export in HD Settings.
If I export in 480p it takes around 10hrs (normal) to export with no errors or issues.
Let me know if anyone can help me through this problem. Export Settings can be .AVI or .Mp4 which I use to upload on YouTube.
    System configuration:

  • IMPORT TAKES LONG TIME THAN EXPORT

    Hi,

    expdp username/password@TEST directory=DATAPUMP dumpfile=TEST_SEP22_%U.dmp logfile=TEST_SEP22.log schemas=TEST parallel=6 exclude=statistics
The export completed in 30 minutes
When started to import into another schema in the same server even using parallel=6 it takes around 15 hours. Can anyone say why it takes a long time to import.
    impdp username/password@TEST directory=DATAPUMP dumpfile=TEST_SEP22_%U.dmp logfile=TESTIMP_SEP22.log remap_schema=TEST:TEST_R1 remap_tablespace=TS_TEST:TS_TEST_R1 parallel=6

Is there any parameter to make the import faster still in 10g
Please adviceAdvice: OPen the fine Utilities reference manual found at tahiti.oracle.com, and check the section on DataPump. THere you will find listed and explained all of the available parameters. I'm sure you will find some of them promising for performance improvement.
The reason the import takes longer than the export is because of all the internal houskeeping going on in relation to every INSERT that is processed. The export is simply reading the db, then writing to a flat file.

  • Problem Export to Excel it takes long time and Takes more space.

    Hello All,
when we export to Excel in portal(reports), it takes long time and it takes more space.
how to overcome this problem please any one knows provide the proper solution for this issues
    Regards,
    Ch.

    Hi Chetans,
I have had the same problem, and I had to create a OSS message to SAP in order to solve this issue, until now I don't have an answer. They made me to change a lot of configuration in Java and BW without luck. To tell you more, when we try to export to excel the java instance restarts aumotatically.
But we have this problem, when we try to export a huge quantity of data, so I found a note which says the limitation of exporting to excel. Take a special attention to the Performance section.

I recomend you that you create a message to SAP. If you find a solution, please let me know.

It's because the PowerMac G5 had HUGE bandwidth with a fat BUS on each processsor so they could run hard, hot and heavy.
It's not so with the Intel processors which are multi-core and share a common bus thus bottleneck.
The newer Intel processors can do more work on the CPU, but when it comes to in/out they are s-l-o-w.
I've had a wickedly fast dual processor (not dual core) G5, RAID 0 pair of 10,000 RPM drives as boot and a fast video card, I could do a lot very very fast.
You'll likely have to upgrade to Final Cut X to get more cores utilized, prepare to cry a little bit, Apple is working on the features they stripped out of it to make amends to pro users who complained loudly. (all over TV too)

  • BPM Process chain takes long time to process

We have BI7, Netweaver 2004s on Oracle and SUN Solaris
There is a process chain (BPM) which pulls data from the CRM system into BW. The scheduled time to run this chain is 0034 hrs. This chain should ideally complete before / around 0830 Hrs. <b>Now the problem is that every alternate day this chain behaves normally and gets completed well before 0830 hrs but every alternate day this chain fails…</b> there are almost 40 chains running daily. Some are event triggered (dependent with each other) or some run in parallel. In this, (BPM) process chain, usually there are 5 requests with 3 Delta and 2 full uploads (Master Data). The delta uploads finishes in 30 minutes without any issues with very few record transfers. The first full upload is from 0034 hrs to approximately 0130 hrs and the 2nd upload is from 0130 hrs to 0230 hrs. Now if the 1st upload gets delayed then the people who are initiating these chains, stop the 2nd full upload and continue it after all the process chains are completed. Now this entire BPM process chain sometimes takes 17 -18 hrs to complete!!!!!
No other loads in CRM or BW when these process chains are running
CRM has background jobs to push IDOCS to BW which run every 2 minutes which runs successfully
Yesterday this chain got completed successfully (well within stipulated time) with over 33,00,000 records transferred but sometimes it has failed to transfer even 12,00,000 records!!
Attaching a zip file, please refer the “21 to 26 Analysis screen shot.doc” from the zip file
Within the zip file, attaching “Normal timings of daily process chains.xls” – the name explains it….
Also within the zip file refer “BPM Infoprovider and data source screen shot.doc” please refer this file as the infopackage (page 2) which was used in the process chain is not displayed later on in page number 6 BUT CHAIN GOT SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED
    We have analyzed:--
    1)     The PSA data for BPM process chain for past few days
    2)     The info providers for BPM process chain for past few days
    3)     The ODS entries for BPM process chain for past few days
    4)     The point of failure of BPM process chain for past few days
    5)     The overall performance of all the process chains for past few days
    6)     The number of requests in BW for this process chain
    7)     The load on CRM system for past few days when this process chain ran on BW system
As per our analysis, there are couple of things which can be fixed in the BW system:--
    1)     The partner agreement (transaction WE20) defined for the partner LS/BP3CLNT475 mentions both message types RSSEND and RSINFO: -- collect IDOCs and pack size = 1 Since the pack size = 1 will generate 1 TRFC call per IDOC, it should be changed to 10 so that less number of TRFCs will be generated thus less overhead for the BW server resulting in the increase in performance
    2)     In the definition of destination for the concerned RFC in BW (SM59), the “Technical Setting” tab says the “Load balancing” option = “No”. We are planning to make it “Yes”
But we believe that though these changes will bring some increase in performance, this is not the root cause of the abnormal behavior of this chain as this chain runs successfully on every alternate day with approximately the same amount of load in it.
I was not able to attach the many screen shots or the info which I had gathered during my analysis. Please advice how do I attach these files
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
Normally  index  creation or deletion can take long time in case  your database statistics are not updated properly, so can check  stat  after your data loading is completed and index generation is done,  Do creation of database statistics.
    Then try to recheck ...

A MV refresh does that and also writes database data.
These are not the same thing and cannot be directly compared.
So instead of pointing at the SELECT execution time and asking why the MV refresh is not as fast, look instead WHAT the refresh is doing and HOW it is doing that.
Is the execution plan sane? What events are the top ones for the MV refresh? What are the wait states that contributes most to the processing time of the refresh?
You cannot use the SELECT statement's execution time as a direct comparison metric. The work done by the refresh is more than the work done by the SELECT. You need to determine exactly what work is done by the refresh and whether that work is done in a reasonable time, and how other sessions are impacting the refresh (it could very well be blocked by another session).

  • The 0co_om_opa_6 ip in the process chains takes long time to run

    Hi experts,
The 0co_om_opa_6 ip in the process chains takes long time to run around 5 hours in production
I have checked the note 382329,
-> where the indexes 1 and 4 are active
-> index 4 was not "Index does not exist in database system ORACLE"- i have assgined to " Indexes on all database systems and ran the delta load in development system, but guess there are not much data in dev it took 2-1/2 hrs to run as it was taking earlier. so didnt find much differnce in performance.
As per the note Note 549552 - CO line item extractors: performance, i have checked in the table BWOM_SETTINGS these are the settings that are there in the ECC system.
    -> OLTPSOURCE -  is blank
       PARAM_NAME - OBJSELSIZE
       PARAM_VALUE- is blank
    -> OLTPSOURCE - is blank
       PARAM_NAME - NOTSSELECT
       PARAM_VALUE- is blank
    -> OLTPSOURCE- 0CO_OM_OPA_6
       PARAM_NAME - NOBLOCKING
       PARAM_VALUE- is blank.
Could you please check if any other settings needs to be done .
Also for the IP there is selction criteris for FISCALYEAR/PERIOD from 2004-2099, also an inti is done for the same period as a result it becoming difficult for me to load for a single year.
    Please suggest.

The problem was the index 4 was not active in the database level..it was recommended by the SAP team to activate it in se14..however while doing so we face few issues se14 is a very sensitive transaction should be handled carefully ... it should be activate not created.
The OBJSELSIZE in the table BWOM_SETTINGS has to be Marked 'X' to improve the quality as well as the indexe 4 should be activate at the abap level i.e in the table COEP -> INDEXES-> INDEX 4 -> Select the  u201Cindex on all database systemu201D in place of u201CNo database indexu201D, once it is activated in the table abap level you can activate the same indexes in the database level.
Be very carefull while you execute it in se14 best is to use db02 to do the same , basis tend to make less mistake there.
    Thanks Hope this helps ..

  • Creation of index takes longer than deletion ?

    Hi,
i deleted index from the cube was very quick just 7 mins. and it took 7 hrs. to create it back.
    why it took so long?
i know if there are more data then it might take longer but how come deletion was that quick ?
    thanks,
    KS

    Hi,
we have split the cube and transfer old data to new cube. now I am trying to delete data from original one. selective deletion for each year is getting failed/ canceled with
    following error message:
    DBIF_DSQL2_OBJ_UNKNOWN

    Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below

         neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "DELETE"
         "(FORM)"
after getting error if i repeat the deletion batch job it works fine for 2nd time.
what would be the reason ? what are other option for deletion.
i tried it by each year
    by deleting index first
    then deactivate aggregate.
    but still it happens.

  • After updating to ios 7.1 my iPhone 5s battery *****. It takes longer to charge and shorter to finish.

3 months back I upgraded from iPhone 4s to 5s and realised 4s is a much better phone. It gave me longer battery life of around 8.30 hrs of usage on 2g and 7 hrs on 3G but 5s was giving me only 7 hours of usage on 2g and 5 hours on 3g but since I've updated it to ios 7.1 my battery ***** even more. It takes longer to charge and shorter to drain. Now I get only 4 hours usage on 2g and somewhat 3hrs roughly on 3G and it takes around 3 hours to charge where awe it used to take only 100 minutes perfectly. I don't know what's wrong with apple. I was a huge apple fan when I had my 4s but now I'm disappointed. But worst thing comes last night, I usually lose around 10% due to my network's pop up messages overnight but last night i lost 37%. When I got up and checked usage it shows me 6 hrs 30 minutes usage but I haven't used my phone since I was sleeping. Hope a new update releases soon to patch this but till that some advices on saving battery would be appreciated, thank you.

Please be more specific. What have you tried already? Please follow the below steps as described also in another topic by Nathan.
    1. Hard reset hold both buttons until Apple logo appears.
    2. Restore from an iTunes sync and backup.  This made a difference for a lot of peopel, battery life got much better.
    3. Limit push notifications (apps and e-mail accounts - set e.g. e-mail to fetch once an hour) to those you really need.
    4. Limit location services to those you really need, and watch to see if the indicator comes up.
    5. Get the app System Activity Monitor to look for a runaway process that is using a lot of CPU.
    6. Suggestion by others to reset all settings.
    7. Suggestion by others that iCloud may be involved, and to try to turn off some iCloud settings.
    8. Limit or turn off 'background app refresh'.
    9. Add apps back in carefully to identify an offending app that is causing CPU or network activity that kills battery life.
10 Also make sure that e-mail is fetched (e.g. every hour) or set to manual instead of pushed.
11 Do you have a good carrier reception? Have you tried to manual set your carrier within your iPhone instead of the 'automatic'?
12 Have you checked if the timezone is set to manual instead of automatic and see if this makes a difference in battery use?
In my case it was a bug with an app that caused the battery drain. I also noticed that the use and stand-by time were exactly the same which is ofcourse not correct. This was all caused by this app which was using GPS tracking all the time. Unfortunately an app such as System Activity Monitor did not indicate that in my case but someone posted this solution on a Dutch forum that the previous version of the app 'Scoupy' had a bug and caused this battery drain.
If you haven't tried every single one of these, please do not post that battery life is terrible.

  • Why does it take 3 hrs to download an update on high speed internet

Okay so i have a good fast provider on high speed internet but when i seem to download updates on my macbrook pro it takes awhile for it to download. On average its been about 2 hrs longest 4.. Now for example i have app store updating an app which size is about 1.34 gb i starts out at 30 min and then just skyrockets from there. And if i amlooking at it as in the screen is open to the app store update page it takes long but omce i change screens it goes feom 3 hrs to under an hour. I dont if its just me but why does it seem to not be able to multitask? Am i missing something here. I have a 3 year old hp with faster processing capabilities. Please help out. Some one

Sometimes it doesn't really depend on your ISP download speed, it depends on how busy the developer's servers might be. For instance, last night I downloaded an 800+MB file from the Apple Developers website. What usually takes less than 30-40 minutes took over 3 hours because so many people were hitting the servers and the same files at the same time.
So if your download speed is fast via your ISP, remember that things on the server side may be slow or busy: and that's going to take additional time to download.
Just curious as to what your download speed actually is and what size the files were that you're trying to download?

  • Client Deletion Takes long time

    Hi All,
Need help, Every month in our quality system we do client refresh so we delete existing data from quality and take export from production and Import into quality.Client Import takes 15 hrs but to delete client  it almost takes 36 hrs. There are PCL4/2/1 tables which takes more time to delete the data even not sure they will delete all the data.Looks like these are cluster tables so what can be do to have more optimize client deletion.
To delete client from OS level is is safer side?  What can be other ways...?

    Hi
PCL4 is not a cluster, at least on Ehp6 at DB level it is a transparent table, that means that the table does exist at both SAP & DB level.
There is a way to process deletion faster, at least for Oracle (but it could also work for other DB)
Create a new temporary table table with a CTAS command (copy table as select) to only include the data for the clients you want to keep.
You can then drop the original table and rename the temporary table to the original name.
Watch out CTAS does not copy indexes, constraints and default values.
If you are using Oracle DB datapump query parameter can be the best option.
You could export the data for the client you want to keep (setting a "query" option like query=" where MANDT in ('200', '300')") , truncate the table and import back the data.
The point here is that copying / inserting new records is faster than deleting.

  • Importing mpgs takes longer than it should

Importing mpgs takes longer than it should. I import 2 hr mpgs on a 6core 32gig ram machine & it takes too long. cs5.52

Wow.  Sounds like a nice machine Steve.  How long does a 2hr mpg take to import?
I just tested it out, and for me it takes about 5 min. ...which, in my opinion, is still too long, and should take no longer than it does to import something into PPro.
    I understand your frustration there.
I think I mentioned before that Encore uses mp2 DVD files best.  If you import things as mp2 or the DVD m2v file format, there is virtually no import time, and you do not have to transcode everything.
That said, unless there are things going on under the hood that I don't know/understand, I still agree that importing video files to timelines in Encore should take no longer than importing into Premiere.  We don't need Encore to author or transcode until we're ready to export.

Do you mean you are doing the export and import? If so, check the session and see what it's waiting on (V$SESSION_WAIT). Or put a trace and see where it's hanging. It may be doing the statistics gathering or waiting on something
You need to give us all information. When you mean restore, we will think of database restore (RMAN or user-managed restore). So please supply all details in relation to what you are doing along with the database version and OS.

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
