Export to Web Page
Pretty please, Apple. Let us export the sheet as a web page.
iWeb just puts it into a pdf. I need my staff to view the info, and 2 people to edit it.

My people actually use Contribute CS3. The program allows them access to a folder(s) that have editable html files. They merely work on them and "Put" them back.
I assume iWeb has the same feature.
The problem Contribute has: It doesn't always preserve the size of the tables. It would be great to have it be done directly from Pages, and then saved to a html file with the updated file to upload.

Export to web page, background image option gone?
Apologies if this has been addressed (couldn't get the right boolean search terms to work properly) as it is a simple question.
Upgraded to iphoto '08 and now one of my favorite features in the 'export a web page' area doesn't appear to exist anymore - the option to use a background image instead of a color.
Has this 'feature' been removed? It's easy to stick the line into the html code, but what I value is the fact that it (used to) modify each photo's html page, sticking that line in, which wouldn't be feasible for me to do manually.

Can the template used to export a web page in iPhoto be modified?

I have iPhoto 9.4.3. The command is File>Export>Web page. The dialog box allows the user to set parameters for number of columns and pix per column, photo sizes, page color and template. There are only two template choices and I'd like to know whether additonal templates can be added, and whether there is any way to save the settings for exporting a web page. As usual, it works fine, it just doesn't do everything this user wants.

I've just upgradded to iLife '08. When I try to save a web page the same as I had with the previous version of iPhoto, it doesn't work. The following steps are taken:
Highlight eight photos in a folder
Select File>Export
In the Export Photos window, select Web Page tab
Make other selections on the page and click Export
Then I've tried various file destination folders and the Desktop
When I click OK, an Exporting sub-window appears for a moment, then it changes to say
Unable to generate web page and only gives me the option to Cancel
It gives me no clues as to why it is unable to generate a web page. It has created the folders for the Images, Pages and Thumbnails but there isn't anything in those folders. I believe this is the same steps I used many times with iPhoto '06 to create a web pages.
Does anyone have an idea on how to save web pages with the new iPhoto? How can I revert back to the old version of iPhoto?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name, long or short, in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. See if this will help.
Next, log into another account or boot into Safe Mode and see if you can export to a web page. If so then there's something amiss with your account. If not, then a reinstall of iPhoto seems appropriate.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -
Print / Export on web page no longer works for Crystal Report
I am honestly at a loss, for days, the report would allow me to click on the printer icon and print to PDF or export the result of the report, but now, all I get is a blank page when the page refreshes. It no longer asks me for print range or anything. I thought this might be a IE 6 setting, but after reviewing the settings and placing the site in my trusted sites list, I still can't print.Is there a web.config setting I need to know about to make sure that export and print are enabled?
I get no error messages at all, it is as if the button is broke, but I have no way to troubleshoot the innerworkings of crystal xi r2 buttons on the web page. If I could just step though the script it uses that would atleast let me see what is going on, but right now, I am stuck.
Thanks for your help ahead of time.I've went a bit farther than that, I created a virtual directory and placed the aspx file (and its associated ascx and designer files) into that folder along with the report, then I placed a basic web.config file with only crystal required elements within that folder. I disconnected that version of the viewing page from the master web file so that it no longer used a master file, I setup the assembly register at the top under the control section, then I placed the viewer and source on that page. Same end result, the report shows but when clicking on any option, the page is blank but source shows that there is javascript there. My report is not autobound, it is programatically generated from a click of a button.
These were my assumptions:
1) when the report is generated, it is on the page and the session information has everything it needs to know about the report
2) when an option is selected, either clicking on the tree, the zoom, the print or export (or other options), that the view information is passed back during the postback event to the controls so that the report would not have to be regenerated
What I am finding out, at the very least through trials, is that an autobound report, the controls work, but a manual bound report, the pages are blank after selection of any of the listed javascripted items. On top of that, the only time that this seems to be working on a manual bound page is that the page can contain nothing but the report and that the report must be rebuilt on page_load event. Which is not good.
What 'should' be the desired design, is that Crystal writes to a session variable, the report data so that on a post back event, it understands what we want without having to do a full report reload. This would be optional of course because in its current design, each event triggered causes a repost of new data and never last pulled information, so that if there was a change in records, the event pulls the most up to date information. This is not documented anywhere that I have found for web design.
So then, another problem along the same lines has arrisen. As you say, Crystal doesn't play well with AJAX, but AJAX is a requirement for the project and I need to have a progress bar for the report since ultimately the page is waiting on the report to show. Depending on the report and the postback, this could be a while, If it takes a minute for the initial view of the report to show, all events on the page will trigger a full refresh of the report and subsequent pulls will take the same time since the controls don't allow for 'use posted data' instead of 'pull new data'.
Taking your suggestion, I removed the view from the panel and placed it above the panel control. At this point, the tree node script works, the zoom script works, all of the controls in the control colection on the report work, except export and print, those two still do not work. This is with me also placing the call to the buildreport on page_load event.
What is even more troubling, is that not until I had removed the UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress controls from the page completely did the export or print work at all. With the fact those two exist anywhere on the page in general causes a problem. Again, not a desired result. I need a live visual effect for the user that something is going on because some of the reports take seconds while others can take minutes depending on the pull and they need to know that 'something' is going on.
Removing UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress is not an option. -
How do I save or export my web pages as PDF files?
I'm trying to save or export web pages from my Firefox that I'm using on Windows Vista as PDF files. There isn't an option for this nor any information in your help files on this. Thanks for your time and I look forward to a response.

This will create a new catalog and you can move this and the photos thus created to the 2nd computer and then in Lightroom on the 2nd computer use File->Import from Another catalog

IPhoto 4.0.3 ignores max width/height for export to web page
I just exported a simple page of 6 photos (3 columns) with the default image Max width and height values of 640x480. It did not seem to pay attention to these numbers, because the images produced were 853x639. The thumbnails however were the correct size according to the thumbnail Max width and height values.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a solution? Thanks!Run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions. If that doesn't help, try moving iPhoto to the desktop, duplicate it (Command-D), move the copy to the Applications folder and rename it to just "iPhoto". Now try it. Other than that you might have to reinstall iPhoto and re-update to 4.0.3.
If you have to reinstall you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder beforehand.

I just noticed that when I exported a folder of pictures and movies to a web page, only the pictures showed up. Is there a way I can use the export to web page feature and see my movies?
Thanks!Are you using iWeb to create your web page? If so then the only options from within iPhoto for exporting are a photo page or blog page. You need to export only the photos and once in iWeb create a separate movie page and import that movie to that specific page via the Media button at the bottom.

iPhoto had an option under export to 'export-to-web-page'. From what I can tell, that functionality has been removed in Photos. Does anyone know how to do that in photos or maybe have a recommended plug-in for the Share menu that would do it instead? I used that export-to-web-page to make our family blog (along with Dreamweaver) and now it will be more trickier to do.
Thanks!Are you saying that you are dropping in 3 photos? Or 3 albums full of photos? Just how many photos? There is a limit of 99 photos per photo template. It won't accept more if you have dragged in more than that.

Using javascript in modified Aperture web page themes
Thanks to the many well-written tutorials on the subject, I've been able to modify an existing Aperture web theme to export customized web pages that have the exact look I'm after. I've successfully copied the Stock theme, edited the detail and journal-gallery html along with the global.css files and merged with a professional template I purchased, so now my Aperture-generated galleries look just like the rest of the pages on my web site.
Of course, there's always a problem:
If I reference any Javascript from the Aperture template files, Aperture EXECUTES the script during the process of exporting the web pages, and includes the result of the Javascript execution in the rendered HTML. It does this IN ADDITION to correctly writing the Javascript reference to the rendered page. The end result is TWO of everything. An example will make this more clear:
If I include the following line in journal-gallery.html:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="assets/scripts/sidebar.js"></script>
and the file sidebar.js contains:

The goal of all this, of course, is what any large professionally-done web site strives for: I don't want to re-render all my static content (the photo galleries) every time I add or remove a link in the sidebar. Editing sidebar.js should be all that's required to change the links.

Keywords not visibles in web pages / Ap 2
It's a real pain to view keywords on web pages. I have a project/album and all photos got keywords (name of the street, city, name of the building, etc...). When I will make a web page using the 'caption&keywords' als visible option on the pages (thumb+large image) Aperture don't work correctly and the keywords are visible only in some picture (3 or 4 of 90 pictures for example) or not at all!
I decided to wait eventually if A. need some time to load all keywords on the web page, nothing...
If I export the versions, slowly one after all it load on the web page the keyword, but only on this situation.
After if I re-open Aperture and click againg the web page icon i see nothing, all keywords blank, no keywords and is impossible to export the web pages until keywords aren't visible in the preview because if I export no keywords are visible on the exported pages too...
HELP...
1. Did I made something worong ?
2. What's the problem, I work so much with keywords and web pages that I need absolutely this feature, did I need to re-isntall the older version?

Callie, mmm... strange because all my keywords used on this work using Ap2 were new: I wrote and create from skratch all keywords using Ap2 and I didn't use old one. So I'm a bit lost in this case too...
It seems that Aperture 2 got a real problem with keywords and web pages...

When exporting mutliple files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might make 524 pages but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture and its persmission and am using the latest version of 3.
I have 3600 images which I need to upload as sublfolders, each with their own URL and at the moment Aperture is dropping of anything from 1 to 90 images.
This is critical as people need to see each and every on of these images online. So if a file has 600 photos in it, Aperture should make a URL with 600 full image pages. And this is what it's not doing. On small files, say 30 or so it seems to work well, it's when it gets to more than that the problem starts.
I've used Aperture in the past under previous versions and not had this problem.
Any help would be great.

Thanks for responding (as it seems as though no one else has been able to provide any insight as of yet)! Not sure if you saw my recent post, but the version of Aperture on the 2008 MacBook has been upgraded to 3.1.2 (not sure how; I bought it in 2009, but only have OS X 10.5.8... which apparently can't house 3.1.2 of Aperture, but hey, like many other anomalies i'm encountering, I'm no longer surprised!). I am unable to upgrade it any further, as it warns me that my OS X does not fit the requirements. I exported the projects as libraries; however, like I posted before, apparently these are from too old of a version for the new Aperture (3.3.1) to handle and import.
It's getting to the point where I'd almost pay to upgrade the OS X on my previous MacBook (10.5.8) to something newer in order to THEN update Aperture to a newer version; however, my previous MacBook simply cannot handle this (the specs are awful -- hence my decision to save up and upgrade to the newest MBP with Retina).
I've spent hours upon hours transferring files, libraries as projects, previews, versions, even masters (though, apparently some of them aren't accessible?) with no luck. I've rebuilt the library and reprocessed everything. And this is all after having to return one MBP already since Aperture 3.3.1 is glitch-y as it is, and froze everything for having a "managed library". So, now that I know that I have to deal with a referenced library in Aperture... I just need to actually transfer my previous library to my new one (hopefully WITH adjustments since these are years worth of photos and work).
Again, any help is appreciated. I've lost enough sleep, time, and vision health over this at this point.
Also, I know Migration Assistant is an option, I was told that it wouldn't work properly anyway because of the different operating systems, and the potential for problems. -
When you create a link to a web page in numbers "Mavericks" and we export the PDF file, the link is offset by 3 rows. Example: if I put a link on the text (with Cmd-K) in cell A1, I found the link A4. In fact, this feature becomes unusable. How can we solve this problem?

I did as you recommended and installed HTTPWatch and below is the outcome of that program. It is the exact string with the only exception of obfuscated servernames and portnumbers. The last part that begins with "sap_ep_baseurl=" makes me suspicious, is that part really correct? It looks like it's lacking things.

Just subscribed to Acrobat for $19.99/year to be able to use expanded pdf manipulation features. From left hand window I signed in successfully. However when I try to use a feature like export to Word doc I am sent to Web page to subscribe for more money. I thought I had already paid for access to these features by subscribing for the $19.99? What features did this $19.99 allow me if NOT to edit or export PDF files?
Please check the name of what you subscribed to. You say "Acrobat" but that isn't $19.99/year. Unfortunately Adobe have products which do the same thing and need to be used in different ways.

Am looking at exporting the Form view on APEX to be exported to PDF.In order to get a PDF, you need to generate a Report....in PDF format.
If you are using the APEX Listener, you can initiate the download of the PDF by calling APEX_UTILS.download_print_document() (I normally place this in a Process)
BUT -- You have to create the Report (under Shared Components) and a Template (also under Shared Components).
The white paper in my first post gives you the HOWTO "[Create] Custom PDF Reports with Oracle Application Express and the APEX Listener".
Start by creating a Report (in Shared Components, bottom right) that uses a simple SQL statement like:
Select * from emp where empno = :P15_EMPNO
You may need to hard code the parameter before you hit "Download XML" button.
The XML that you get from clicking "Download XML" satisfies the "Step 1 - Create an XML Data Source" found on Page 11 of the document.
The rest of the instructions is in that whitepaper.
