Export WebDynpro context node to CSV format?

I have successfully implemented exporting the context node to xml format then open through the Excel following the tutorial : Exporting Context Data into Excel Using the Web Dynpro Binary Cache.
But now, I need to implement another version that export to CSV format, then open through Excel.
I remembered I read a blog and some forum posts that mentioned about this solution, but I just could not locate where they are now through SDN search now.
I will appreciate if someone can point me to those links again.

How Can I Export Our WIki in a CSV Format?

Victims of our own success: what was originally created as internal content on our private OS X Server wiki now is being requested for presentation on an externally hosted web service. Management wants this content to be accessible to constituents on the outside in a searchable database on a completely different service not administered by us on the inside.
The developer building the database has asked for this content to be exported in CSV for easy import into the new database: page title, tags (a.k.a. keywords, not to be confused with HTML formatting tags), and page content.
Sadly, according to the Wiki Server Admin Guide (p. 73), the Wiki service does not appear to store page content in any kind of database, but rather in separate files. Thus I can't see a way to provide the requested data short of copying and pasting content from each individual wiki page on the OS X Server.
Considering that we're talking about ~200 pages of content, I'd like to avoid a manual process of that kind. I've been through the official Wiki Server Admin Guide, but it offered no help for exporting content in the way I need.
I'm fairly comfortable with AppleScript, less so with shell/bash scripting. Since I'm trying to save time, I'm not sure that's my answer on this scale. Debugging a script (for me) might take longer than a simple copy/paste of 200 items (maybe I'm wrong).
Does anyone have a different way of looking at this I haven't thought of? Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, exporting the wiki data into a format that databases can understand is not a trivial process. Pages are stored as a collection of folders that contain the wiki text, the HTML for display, the change history, the comments, and the attachments.
In a default setup, the page folders are under /Library/Collaboration/Groups/{groupname}/wiki . All folders under Groups can only be viewed by using root access permissions.
For example, for a wiki page accessed by:

abc12.page - folder for wiki page

!- images - folder for images
! page.html - html (probably a cache) for display
! page.plist - property list file with all notes on the
! revisions.db - SQLite database file that contains all the revisions.
You would need a script that runs as the _teamserver user to read every .page directory, parse the .plist files, and generate a SQL statement to preserve all the text, markup, and quotations. If you program really well, you could search for the URLs in every .plist file and record the embedded attachments and images, and copy them to another location.
For my first project, I parsed the .plist files just to get a map of the random page URL and the title. I also found out about "deleted" and "tombstoned" states, and elected to ignore those.
If I get a moment I'll write about that next.

Exporting report as PDF and CSV formats same time with out executing DB query twice

I am using Crystal Report 9.0 version and Java.
I am getting "PrintOutputController" from "ReportClientDocument"
And then by calling export(ReportExportFormat.PDF) generating PDF format report.
Now I need to generate both PDF and CSV format files same time. How can it be done?
My understanding is when we call "export" it does the DB query execution and other functionality.
In that case, if I call "export" two times with two different formats, then DB query will be executed twice and that takes lot of time.
To avoid, is there a way I can all some API so DB query executed once, but I can export report in to multiple formats?

Hello,
Are you using the "pull" or "push" method for your crystal reports? If you are using the "pull" method (the report itself executes the sql) then I believe there is no way around having the query execute twice since it is fired off each time you open and export the report.
If you use the "push" method, however, then you can just create the recordset/dataset and then set the datasouce once for the report.

How to update a webdynpro context node from flex ?

Hi
I have an table in webdynpro and a datagrid in flex, both getting the value from the same context node. My requirement is to make the table fields editable and when I make changes in the datagrid, it should get reflected back in the webdynpro table.
So how can I access the internal table's context node from flex ?

As you are using a datasource, i assume you have set method in flex to read the datasource(context node). What you need to do is store the reference to this datasource in a local flex variable. Have a look at the below code:
private var refreshFlexUINode:ArrayCollection;
public function set refreshFlexUI(datasource:ArrayCollection):void
refreshFlexUINode=datasource;
and say you want to edit one row of the table, get that row from ArrayCollection and assign the new value.
it would be like, if you want to save second row of the datagrid
Object obj = refreshFlexUI.getItemAt(1)
obj[<CONTEXT_ATTR_NAME>]=<new value>

Export Of Data In The .CSV Format With Column Headings On Top

I'm trying to export data in the .csv format from a report (Crystal Reports XI Release 2). When I export the data, the heading appears in the first few columns on the left hand side (i.e. columns "A" thru "G") for every row, rather as a column heading on top. These header describe the data beneath it. I tried various combinations of export options. The file needs an extension .csv (or .xls) for the tool that uses the data. Any suggestions how I can accomplish this ?

I tried to apply your solution, but forgot that the Crystal Reports support desk updated my version of Crystal Reports XI to Release 2 for a previous problem. My CDs are Crystal Reports XI Release 1. Now I can't export at all until I figure out how to turn on the export option. I do have access to older version (version unknown) that came with one of business system. The options it has are "Character", "Tab", and "Delimeter" for "Separated Values (CSV)". It does not have the option that you mentioned. Is there a similar option with this older version ? Lastly, How can I turn on the "Export" for "Crystal Reports XI Release 2" ? Thanks ! ! !

Customize the Export option as ONLY in CSV format

I designed the detail report which has 17585 rows and 52 columns, If I export the report in excel its taking long to download (7-10 Mins 148 MB Size with all formatting properties), where as in DATA CSV format its taking less than a min and the file size is 4.4 MB.
Is there is any option where I can only customize the Export option as CSV format. Also my report contains Narrative view for the Heading, Can I add the Export link some where on the Narrative view that is in CSV format.
Please help me out with this issue.

Try to use url for the same report and add the these at the end of url, so that on click user can download only as .csv

How can I export to Text and/or CSV format and get correct page info?

I am using CRVS2010 to upgrade an application from CRXI RDC to .Net. When at runtime I generate the report and export to Text or CharacterSeparatedValues my page footers show Page -1 of 1. Using the CRXI RDC, I see the correct page info in the footers.
When I export to Text, I get the Page -1 of 1 for every page. If I set LinesPerPage to zero, then I get it all on one page, which still has Page -1 of 1 at the end.
If I export to CSV, I get Page -1 of 1 for every line. If I use the viewer to review the report at runtime, and export from there, I cannot export as Text so I have no comparison. However, the Export to CSV from the Viewer as Page -1 of 1for every entry just as my export does.
What do I need to do to get the correct line info? What is that is different from CRXI RDC and CRVS2010 .net that would impact this behavior?

Yes, I am using SP2 for VS 2010 and I'm using the Page N of M formula in the page footer. While my export code was not quite as simple as yours, I did it both ways in my test program with the same results. A one page report whose footer says Page -1 of 1.

How can I export the report to Excel or CSV format in Rational(Java)?

Apply conditional formatting when a report is exported to CSV format

Hello
OBIEE dasboard has the option to export the report data to CSV format.
But the problem is that on some columns of the report, it uses various different types of conditional formatting that tells, what to display when data is equal to one of those edge cases. So hence the report on the dashboard page shows accordingly which is fine.
But when the report is exported to CSV format, no conditional formatting is applied and all the raw data is shown without any formatting.
Is there any way to make sure that the conditional formatting is applied even in the data exported to CSV format.

CSV is supposed to be a data dump .. i dont think you can have formatting saved when u download csv file.. try downloading it to excel and changing it to CSV

How can we export table data to a CSV file??

I have the following requirement. Initially business agreed upon, exporting the table data to Excel file. But now, they would like to export the table data to a CSV file, which is not being supported by af:exportCollectionActionListener component.
Because, when i opened the exported CSV file, i can see the exported data sorrounded with HTML tags. Hence the issue.
Does someone has any solution for this ... Like, how can we export the table data to csv format. And it should work similar to exporting the data to excel sheet.

Webdynpro context not available in Interactive form layout

Hi,
I have take one Interactive form element and provided the Tempalte Source (new formanme) it asked me to create the pdf interface i give the interface name, and,selected the context then save it. pdf layout design is opend but there is not context which i have mapped from wd in pdf.
where as if i use sflight in webdynpro context node, it is working ( i can see the dataview of sflight in pdf layout) but not in case of z*structures any reason please let me know.

What is the datasource of your UI interactive forms.
data source is the context of the webdynpro view.
as i described earlier, i am assigning the context when creating the form interface.
once it is done automatically datasource will be binded with context ndoe.
i am getting one more problem,i selected enable check box to become interactive form even though the form is not become interactive why.
even i tried with activex/native both also.

Why we need to conver Context Node data into XML file----Export to Excel

Let me clarify my dought........today i have gone through the concept of "Exporting Context Data Using the Webdynpro Binary cache" in SAP Online Help.
From the SAP Online Help pdf document, i have found that, the context node data has been converted first in to XML file,after that file had been stored in the web dynpor binary cache...bla....bla.........
Here my qtn is why they had converted context node data into XML file. With out doing that can not we export context node data to excel file..?

Hi Sesshanna,
it is not neccessary to do that but xml has the advantage, that it can be easily transformed into every output format that might occur in later project stages.
If it's simply about blowing out some Excel, I suggest using an OSS library such as jexcelAPI or Jakarta POI and building the Excel how you need it.

Use a Java API which can create PDF files based on some collection of plain vanilla Java objects (List, String, Number, etc).
Google can find them all. Just feed it with something like "Java PDF API" or so. A commonly used one is iText.
That said, when talking about this in JSP context, ensure that you do NOT write raw Java code in JSP files using scriptlets. Raw Java code belongs in Java classes. In such case you need a Servlet. In JSP just use taglibs and EL to interact with backend Java code and data. Scriptlets are discouraged since over a decade.

Webdynpro abap- navigation to context node

I am a new user for Webdynpro - abap. I was trying to set a default value to a input field. I am using WDDOINIT method for navigation to context node FLIGHTINFO. But i am not getting the exact idea behind the navigation at code level. Also not clear about get element at lead selection for context node FLIGHTINFO.

There can be many nodes in the context, and many elements in each node. In order to set the default value to one of the attributes, we need to proceed as follows:
1) Get the reference of node, whose attribute needs to be defaulted. Following is the code for the same:
DATA lo_nd_cn_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
navigate from <CONTEXT> to <CN_NODE> via lead selection
lo_nd_cn_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_cn_node ).
wd_context has the reference of context node (root node). It gives the reference of desired node (its child node) using method get_child_node. We pass the name of desired node as parameter of this method.
2) In similar way we proceed to get the reference of desired element using following code:
DATA lo_el_cn_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
get element via lead selection
lo_el_cn_node = lo_nd_cn_node->get_element( ).
3) This element may have many attributes. We set the default value to attribute of selected node using following code:
set single attribute
lo_el_cn_node->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = `CA_TEST` " name of attribute where input field is bound
value = lv_ca_test ). "Value that you want to set as default
