Inventory management movements

Hi
I am having a material X in two storage location  10 and 20. material will be stored in bulk amounts in storage location 20 and 10 is our small SL which holds very little quantity. can the stock be moved automatically between SL 20 to 10 when the stock in SL 10 reaches a  particular point.
Or can It generate any kind of requirement  saying that the stock should be moved for one SL to another.

SAP can not move automatically from one stoare location to another but using the EWS you can receive the notification once it reach the define level
to do that
go to tcode MC/1 and create Exception using Info sturcutre S039
Enter exception as Stocklevel or what ever name you want
than hit enter
choose characteristics as Material , plant and storage locaiton
once you populate all these three fields by choosing charaterictis button
hit requirement button fromheader
then click on chosse key figure at bottom
here you select the total stock or valuated stock as per your requirements
once you see the field than click on define requirements
here select Thresold and click on continue
here enter the max qty number
so whenever total stock > number you have assgined here, it will send an email
hit continue
now click on follow-up processing
here select the Active for periodic analysys and enter the user name whom you want send the mail
then hit save
now go to MC/7 transaciton and enter your Exception you have creatred
and select system driven and hit create
continue and create the variant
now go to MC/B  and schedule the job you created in previous step
this will give you the notificaiton the moment it reach the stock level.
and based on this you can move the stock to diff location.

  • Movement Type in Inventory Management Cube

    Hello Guys,
I am new to the area of Invenotry Management. I have seen the How to Guide and blogs by Surendra for Inventory Management scenarios.
One of initial doubt is that the cube 0IC_C03 does not have Movement Type. As per the blog, we can define transaction keys in BW but how do I pull it in my Cube. Is ehnacing the extract strcuture BF the only option? If yes, what logic do we follow to add movement type to BF?
Also as per SAP Note, we cannot enhance BX to include movement type. So would it create a problem if BX does not have a movement type and BF has?
    Looking forward to solutions
    Thanks n Regards,
    Abhishek

    Dear John
The movement type has important control functions in Inventory Management.
For example, the movement type plays an important role in
      => updating of quantity fields
=> updating of stock and consumption accounts
=> determining which fields are displayed during entry of a document in the system
    thanks

  • Movie Inventory Management

    Movie Inventory Management
Despite having computed for decades, I am very new to iPod and downloading music and movies.
I understand that one cannot burn a DVD of a downloaded movie. Is that correct?
So, what is the point of having the movie art if one cannot burn a DVD?
Not to sound terribly naive, but—how does one manage the movies?
I don't want to/can't keep them all on my computer.
Can I back them up to an external drive?
How about the iPod; can a movie be backed up onto an iPod?
Can an iPod then be hooked up to a TV like the computer can?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Tek

    1. You can only burn a data disc for backup purposes. The protection prevents burning to a disc that is compatible in home players. This is required by the major motion picture studios.
    2. You can most certainly store/backup your movies on an EHD, burning data discs is your other option.
    3. You can use the iPod as a backup, but it's a very risky idea to do so. If the iPod is lost or you have an iPod problem that requires a restore, your video & any other files will be at high risk of being lost for good.
    4. Yes, there are specific cables that you will have to have. There is also the Apple TV that you can use. That's all I can offer on this one because I have no experience doing this.

  • How to move back the stock to inventory management?

    Hi,

Now the stock is in storage type 921 stock transfer and it is in restricted batch mode. I want to move the stock back to inventory management. • Error message rgd. Material Movements / Inventory Management

    Hello,
We have Problem to load Material Movements data in Inventory Management InfoCube.
On BW-Side we had deleted Inventory Management InfoCube content completely before we started with opening stock, Material Movements.
We have filled set up tables for opening stocks, Material Movements and Revaluation successfully on R/3 Side. We have also filled archive data for Material Movements and Revaluation in set up tables.
We have loaded the opening stock balance into InfoCube. The request containing the opening
    stock has been compressed.
We are trying to load the material movements (Initialize delta) into Cube. We get the error message:
u201CThe material XXXXXXXX does not exist or is not activatedu201D.
We have analyzed these materials (from error message) and find out that these materials are already archived on R/3 side but these materials are in Master Data table on BW-Side.
How we can deal with this problem? The BW-System is SAP NetWeaver 2004s (Support
Package SAPKW70016). The SAP R/3-System is SAP ECC 6.0.
We had same proceeding in March 2008 with BW 3.0B and R/3 4.7 and had no problem at all.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
Hope u have loaded the master data in BW side and also activated the Master data i.e i assume that u have done Attribut change run.

  • New Goods Movement Type for Inventory Manager

    Hi Guys,
I need to change a goods movement code used on Mobile App Inventory Manager 4.0 to a custom (Z) goods movement code, the fileds are the same so I thought changing the constant will work for this as we do a GoodReceipt with no reference to Purchase nor Production order (gmCode = 501) with a custom, copied from standard, Movement type gmCode = 950 (this is a well known practice on ERP). I have changed only the global constant on my copied IM application, for testing purpose and the local GR was created with gmCode = 950 instead of gmCode = 501, but when I was transmiting in order to create goods movement document on SAP, the application throws an error like: "PostReceiptsSteplet - Goods Movement Impossible with good movement type 950 - Server error". So I would like to know first:
If is it possible to include or change the standard gmCode for custom gmCode on mobile app Inventory Manager 4.0?
What would it be the Best Practice to do this? The steps to include a custom movement type, now I know is not only changes on global constants
I have checked the java doc for this method "PostReceiptsSteplet", and it did not say anything about the constructor .... or how is used... what has inside... what is the condition of execution.... nothing ...

If those java source code are so troublesome to request... why should I request them if I won't change the app's base functionality??. Instead of requesting those java source code, the documentation of the java doc should improve, well the documentation in general for this app should improve ... Is only a suggestion ... I'm trying very hard not to ask for those source code, because what Mark Pe  answer me on another post: If I ask for them, a disclamer must be signed because I could change a base functionality... and that's perfectly fine. But if I need to extend a class and add a few field: why do I need to ask for the code instead of checking the documentation and apply the customization needed?
Now I have some trouble extending a SAPOBJECT, because I don't quite understand the design of how you manage MaterialDocument / MaterialDocumentItem on the app. But I will post this question on another thread

  • HU without inventory management and message L3778 in storage type 999

    Hi experts,
Need suggestion on the process to add inventory of an HU with status 'HU without inventory Management'. This issue has occurred out of the below scenario:
    1. our warehouse is HU & WM managed.
    2. We have a transfer order for a delivery document requesting to pick up 100 cases of MAT1 which is assigned to HU1.
    3. While confirming the transfer order user has confirmed difference for the full quantity of 100 because the SU/HU was not found in the bin.
    4. The system has set the status of HU as 'HU without inventory Management'. The HU is empty.
    5. system has moved the stock from the bin to difference storage type 999.
Now user has found the stock for this HU and he wants to post the stock back into the bin. system does not allow to move the stock back to bin using LT01 as we get error message 'L3 778'.
What will be the best practice to get the stock back into the bin and post the stock into the same old HU.
Is there a process wherein we can post this stock to another bin and repack into the old HU?
    Thanks,
    Harish

Thanks Manish on the hint. I was able to transfer stock to partner location and then bring back to original Storage type/Bin. Below steps was used to fixed the issue:
    1. Initiate a transfer of stock from WM/HU Sloc where the IM stock resides into Sloc 9099. An outbound delivery is created during this process.
    2. Create a transfer order with reference to delivery and pick the stock from 999 storage type.
    3. Create a Pick HU using LH01 and assign the HU on the pallet to the transfer order.
    4. Confirm the transfer order using LT12.
    5. Perform PGI for the delivery.
    6. Use HUMO to display the HU and then you can transfer the stock back to WM/HU location using the storage location transfer option available on the HUMO screen(EDIT à change HU posting à Storage location)
    7. Perform Bin to bin transfer to move the SU from 921 storage type to putaway the HU/SU back to the destined Storage type/Bin.
    Best Regards,

  • Inventory Management: Valuated Stock Value

    Hello Experts -
We're using inventory management. We're just bringing in 2lis_03_bf which is the material movements and the standard price datasource.
The plant valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value are fine. The SLOC valuated stock quantity is fine. We're using the non-cumulative key figures for the valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value. The SLOC valuated stock value isn't correct. So I just created a calculated key figure where I'm multiplying the quantity with the standard price.
This works fine but when I look at the plant level and use this CKF, the aggregation threw me off. So I changed the aggregation on CKF at the Bex level.
This works fine in dev and qa where I don't have too much of data. But as soon as I'm in in production, the query times out and gives me an error saying I reached the buffer limit.
I was thinking of calculating the valuated stock value at the ETL layer but now I'm thinking that if I do that and the price of a material changes, I'll again have the same problem. I can't re-load every time a material price changes.
Can someone please help me with this scenario?
    Thanks!

do not offer points, it is against the rules

    Hi Syed,
Deriving values by multipling with price also not correct. results will not match with R/3.
    Value Calculation
In principle, values are updated with Plant, Material, and Stock Category only. Quantities are updated with these characteristics, as well as with Storage Location, Batch Number, and Stock Characteristic
Check SAP Note 589024: Evaluations in BW with the Characteristics Storage Location and Stck Char.).
    Hope it Helps

  • Queires on Non-Cumulative Inventory Management Cube 0IC_C03 Not Working

    Hello all.
I am trying to use the 0IC_C03 Inventory Management cube with non-cumulative key figures.  I followed the How to...Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW paper to a tee.
    Steps I followed:
    1.  Ran initialization of beginning balance with 2LIS_03_BX
    2.  Ran the historical job with 2LIS_03_BF
    3.  Uploaded to BW the Initialization (BX) and compressed without setting the "No Marker Update" flag
    4.  Uploaded the historical movements (BF) and compressed setting the "No Marker Update" flag
Now, to this point, everything was fine.  Quantities were as expected.  Dollar values were as expected.  The problem occurs once I load deltas:
    5.  Loaded delta for 2LIS_03_BF and compressed without setting the "No Marker Update" flag as instructed in the How To... paper
    Query example:
    MATERIALA:
Initial Stock Balance = 1000 EA
Delta had stock issue of 150 EA (so the stock balance should have decreased from 1000 to 850)
Now, I have the record in BW showing the stock issue of 150.  However, the non-cumulative key figure within the query still shows 1000.  And when I drill down by calendar day, I would expect the result to show 850, but it seems to add the 150 before taking it away resulting in 1000 which is actually the initial stock balance.  It is like it is not recognizing the updates.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brent

    Hi!
Here is what helped in my case, very similar to your:
In DTP for 2lis_03_bx (not only in infopackage, as it is said in manual!) you have to change "Extraction Mode" parameter to "Initial Non-cumulative for Non-cumulative values"

  • Inventory management

    Hi,
In Inventory management ...for reports i am using standard queries taken from metadata repository but i am not using the standard cube instead using a custom cube and copied all those queries on to custom cube...since for all figures routines have been written in update rules...
please tell me wheather i need to test them with R/3 to know whether data flow or data entries are right or no...
if i have to test from BW to R/3 then i need to test them in Standard reports of R/3 not using RSA3 becoz the values of key figures are calculated during runtime and i dnt get them in RSA3 m i right?
please suggest me where i can search the standard reports in R/3...which transactions i need to use...
    e.g.Receipt quantity :Blocked stock(0RECBLOSTC)
WHERE can i get the values for this in R/3?

  • Inventory Management Negative Values

    Hello Experts -
I'm working on an inventory management report and we're in BI 7.0.
In the report, the valuated stock quantity is a non-cumulative key figure with inflow as receipt stock qty and outflow as issue stock qty.
In my transformation, I'm taking care of the process keys and multiplying by -1 when the keys are 100, 101, 104, 105, 106, 110. I'm doing that for qty as well as for $ figures.
But when I look into valuated stock qty in my report, I'm seeing negative values for movement type 602 which is a return. Earlier this was a positive value.
For movement type 601 which is a sales, I'm seeing positive values which used to be a negative value.
Basically, the figures got reversed even though I'm multiplying by -1 only on one set of process keys such as 100, 101, 104, 105, 106, 110.
Is it ok to have negative figures when dealing with movement types?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As always, points will be granted.
    Thanks!

  • Inventory management: non-cumulatives VS. snapshots

In the How to <i>Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW</i>, I read that (p. 2):
    - Inventory management with non-cumulative key figures is better when <i>"90 percent of all materials were moved 1 time in the month"</i>;
    - Inventory management with SnapShots is better when <i>"90 percent of all materials were moved 1 time in the month"</i>.
I think the second sentence is not correct. But what can be the right number of movements to be considered?
    Thanks a lot,
    Davide

    Hi Ajay,
    so my next question is:
Besides the time granularity needed (daily-level vs. monthly-level), is there a threshold for the number of movements, that could be used to choose one of the two models?
I mean, if materials are moved on average e.g. less than 10 times per month, the non-cumulative architecture could be best one. While if there are more than 10 times per month, the snapshot architecture could be more appealing. In this example, 10 movements per month is the threshold.

  • Inventory management: Validy dates in queries???

    Hi experts,
    We have BW 7.0.
I have loaded data on 04.03.2010 with BF- and UM-datasources and compressed it correctly.
When I now look into the validy table for plant 0001 there is a validy range from 03.07.1997 to 08.02.2010.
But when I start a query for 09.02.2010 system says "no data found".
The document "How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW" says that I should show the result in parenthesis!
    What is up here?
But I don't want to update this validy table!!!
    Pls help!
    KR,
    Raimund
    Text in  document:
...For example, if data with document data was loaded into the
InfoCube with values from 01.01.2002 to 15.02.2002 (assigned to the respective time
characteristic), the validity interval is also determined by these two date values. You can
extend the intervals by maintaining the table (transaction RSDV). Stock balances are
displayed for requests that relate to this period. If you start a query that requests the
stock balance for 16.02.2002 or later, the result is displayed in parenthesis (a blank
value is displayed in BW 2.0B and 2.1C), since it lies outside the validity area (providing
that the validity table was not manually extended using transaction RSDV)....

    Hi,
    Hi,
Use 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM to 0IC_C03 Cube and design the report.
    Use :
    0VALSTCKVAL   " for Value
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
    0CALMONTH        " for Month
Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
    For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input)  and set the offeset
value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
    For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
    And
    Drag & drop
    0MATERAIL
0PLANT  " Give some Input Variable.
    See the steps.
Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube
Setting up material movement/inventory with limit locking time
If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.

  • Error "Material not subject to inventory management in Plant " on the STO

I want to create a Stock tansport order ( plant to plant transfer) with  stock & non-stock item and non stock item is giving an error  "Material not subject to inventory management in Plant".  Please tell me how to clear this error.   Plant / SLOC view is already maintained and no qty/value update selected on the material type because of non stock item.   Please tell me how to overcome this error on the STO

    Hello,
As you said you want to move nonstock item through STO.
It seems that in your case say for example your plant 1000 has material ABC which is maintained as stock item.
Now you have another plant 2000, whaich has same material ABC which is maintained as non-stock item (generally used in third party sales or cross docking).
If your material ABC is nonstock in plant 2000 where no stocks are mainatined,  then how can you move the stock to plant 1000 where it is stock item.
Could you please confirmthat can you see the stock in MMBE for plant where that material is maintained as non stock item.
If so, then  you have chnage the plant specific material status for that plant from non stock item to stock item.
This is maintained in material master in purchasing view.
The other way out is you have to third party sales with ship to party as the plant where that item is maintained as stock item.
    In this case flow is
Sales order>>Purchase requistion>>Purchase order>>(Vendor supplies material directly to customer (which is you plant where that item is stock item))

  • Snapshot scenario or non cumulative key figure  in inventory management

    Hi
We are currently using Inventory Management with non-cumulative key figures but we get very high performance problems due to so big number of lines in info cube.
We are analyzing the other scenario with snapshot and I am asking if it would be very realistic to use it to satisfy our requirement: to be able to get inventory management at day level for about 2 000 000 combinations article-site and about 100  000 stock movement lines per day (we are retailer!).
Is there somebody to give me advice about it?
    Tanks a lot
    Anne

Being a non-cumulative KF, total stock is automatically takes care of that.
Try putting all the restrictions which you have included for total receipts and total issues, for eg,  restrict Total Stock with the movement types used in Receipts as well as Issues.
    Check and revert.
