Export XML data to Separate XML Files

A table which has a column with nText data type. I can cast it to XML and then save it manually. (file.xml)
Let's say if I have 100 rows and I need 100 separate XML files under "C:\xml\" folder, I could do it easily by using
SSIS with Export Column Task.
Is that possible with T-SQL too?

You can also use commands like bcp withT-SQL  query to get the shredded XML values saved as separate xml files. You've xpath function like query() available which will shred out parts of XML from your main column

  • Export XML file error

    Hello,
    When i try to export xml file, i get next error:
    "ODI-1228: Task P_CREATE_MANUAL_XML (Procedure) fails on the target XML connection XML_BKI.
    Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: ODI-40768: Could not save the file /u01/app/out_files/bki/CRE_HAND_OPERATED.XML because a class java.sql.SQLException occurred and said: java.sql.SQLException: java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection"
    But when i restart the agent, all becomes good for a while.
    Who knows that problem?

    This was not my required answer.I am sorry that I was unable to clarify my question.Actually
    +This project executed successfully with some warning.Target Table is automatically created in database and also populated with data.But when I right-click Target Datastore(in >Mapping Tab of the Interface), and then select Data to View Data that needs to be inserted in the target table.I get some error like this:-...+This above line is the result of my project my problem is
    when I right-click Target Datastore(in Mapping Tab of the Interface), and then select Data to View Data that already inserted in the target table.Is not shown by the view data operation.
    I meant to say I am facing this error
    At the10(1010 written) step of
    Creating a New ODI Interface to Perform XML File to RDBMS Table Transformation
    wehre it says
    Open the Interface tab. Select Mapping tab, right-click Target Datastore - CLIENT, and then select Data. View Data inserted in the target table. Close Data Editor. Close the tabs...
    In my case when I use my sqldeveloper I can see data successfully inserted in my target table and also in error table (data that can't satisfy the constraint) .But I was unable to check this by following the above mentioned 10 th step and got this error.

  • EXPORT.XML file used during Java export?

    Hi all !!!
    I'm doing an export of a Solution Manager 7.01 system. This system also has a CPS (redwood) installation in thev database java schema.
    What happened was that not all tables listed in the EXPORT.XML existed, so I got a failure.
    I then "undeployed" CPS, and deleted all CPS files from the database (JCS_). However, when I restarted (or started from the beginning) I got the same error. The EXPORT.XML (in the export java directory) still have all the JCS_ tables listed.
    This file is recreated during every restart, so I tested to create a script which override this file with one without the JCS_* tables all the time (more than 100 times a minute). But the export still has the JCS_* tables in the list during export.
    So is the EXPORT.XML even used during export, or does it keep the values in memory already when the file is created.
    And a second question is: From where does the input to the EXPORT.XML file come from? It's not from the database since there is not a trace of any JCS_* tables in the database however ju list information from the DB2 dictionary (DB2 9.5.2)
    So can anyone tell me how to skip these tables from the export?
    // Claes

    Hello Claes,
    is this system (CPS) a copy or migration of other system ? it happens sometimes that old schema tables remains in the system.
    regards, Javier

  • Export table data in a flat file without using FL

    Hi,
    I am looking for options where I can export table data into a flat file without using FL(File Layout) i.e., by using App Engine only.
    Please share your experience if you did anything as this
    Thanks

    A simple way to export any record (table/view) to an csv fiel, is to create a rowset and loop through all record fields, like below example code
    Local Rowset &RS;
    Local Record &Rec;
    Local File &MYFILE;
    Local string &FileName, &strRecName, &Line, &Seperator, &Value;
    Local number &numRow, &numField;
    &FileName = "c:\temp\test.csv";
    &strRecName = "PSOPRDEFN";
    &Seperator = ";";
    &RS = CreateRowset(@("Record." | &strRecName));
    &RS.Fill();
    &MYFILE = GetFile(&FileName, "W", %FilePath_Absolute);
    If &MYFILE.IsOpen Then
       For &numRow = 1 To &RS.ActiveRowCount
          &Rec = &RS(&numRow).GetRecord(@("RECORD." | &strRecName));
          For &numField = 1 To &Rec.FieldCount
             &Value = String(&Rec.GetField(&numField).Value);
             If &numField = 1 Then
                &Line = &Value;
             Else
                &Line = &Line | &Seperator | &Value;
             End-If;
          End-For;
          &MYFILE.WriteLine(&Line);
       End-For;
    End-If;
    &MYFILE.Close(); You can of course create an application class for generic calling this piece of code.
    Hope it helps.
    Note:
    Do not come complaining to me on performance issues ;)

  • Can I use Bridge to export image data into a .txt file?

    I have a folder of images and I would like to export the File Name, Resolution, Dimensions and Color Mode for each file into one text file. Can I use Bridge to export image data into a .txt file?

    Hello
    You may try the following AppleScript script. It will ask you to choose a root folder where to start searching for *.map files and then create a CSV file named "out.csv" on desktop which you may import to Excel.
    set f to (choose folder with prompt "Choose the root folder to start searching")'s POSIX path
    if f ends with "/" then set f to f's text 1 thru -2
    do shell script "/usr/bin/perl -CSDA -w <<'EOF' - " & f's quoted form & " > ~/Desktop/out.csv
    use strict;
    use open IN => ':crlf';
    chdir $ARGV[0] or die qq($!);
    local $/ = qq(\\0);
    my @ff = map {chomp; $_} qx(find . -type f -iname '*.map' -print0);
    local $/ = qq(\\n);
    #     CSV spec
    #     - record separator is CRLF
    #     - field separator is comma
    #     - every field is quoted
    #     - text encoding is UTF-8
    local $\\ = qq(\\015\\012);    # CRLF
    local $, = qq(,);            # COMMA
    # print column header row
    my @dd = ('column 1', 'column 2', 'column 3', 'column 4', 'column 5', 'column 6');
    print map { s/\"/\"\"/og; qq(\").$_.qq(\"); } @dd;
    # print data row per each file
    while (@ff) {
        my $f = shift @ff;    # file path
        if ( ! open(IN, '<', $f) ) {
            warn qq(Failed to open $f: $!);
            next;
        $f =~ s%^.*/%%og;    # file name
        @dd = ('', $f, '', '', '', '');
        while (<IN>) {
            chomp;
            $dd[0] = \"$2/$1/$3\" if m%Link Time\\s+=\\s+([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{4})%o;

  • Exporting SQL data to Excel 2010 files - Excel sets all columns to DT_WSTR, ignores numeric or currency

    It looks like this has been a problem since forever, but I'm hoping someone has a solution.  I'm exporting SQL data to an .xlsx file.  I have the columns in my query set to the appropriate values, e.g. SELECT Cast(column1 AS nvarchar()) 'column1',
    Cast(column2 as currency) 'column2'.  I have a spreadsheet and I've set the data type for each column.  I have an OLEDB connection manager with the connection string of
    Data Source=C:\MyFile.xlsx;Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Extended Properties="Excel 12.0;";  When I look at the Advanced Editor of my OLE DB Destination Component, I see that all the Input Columns are of the correct datatype, but
    all the External Columns are of datatype DT_WSTR.
    How can I get my numeric, currency, date fields to be written to Excel as numeric, currency, date?  Right now they all get written as text, any numbers get single quotes put in front of them so they are treated as text.
    I'm using SSIS 2008 R2.
    I don't get it, SQL and Excel are both Microsoft, why is it so hard to get them to work together?!

    Hi,
    converting to DT_WSTR because you are converting this into nvarachar in your select statement in oledb source.
    are you looking into the oledb destination or Excel destination for data types.
    please remove the casting from your select and create the new table as showing in the following snapshot:

  • How to indent an exported xml file

    hello,
    I want to export some xml file but well indented. Could you hlep me ?
    I find this "http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1323539?tstart=0" in our forum, but i want to apply the prettyPrinting at  the time of the exportfile.
    For help, the end lines of my script :
    " myCont = myWorkFolder + '/' + myExportNameFile + '_' + myPageName.threedigit() + '_' + myArticle.threeDigit() + '.cont.xml';
    myFileCont = new File (myCont );
    xmlElement.exportFile(ExportFormat.xml, myFileCont, false); "
    thanks

    The other thread was about the E4X XML class included in Extendscript. You're asking about exporting the InDesign document XML structure. It's confusing, but the two things have nothing in common.
    To get what you want, I would apply a transform during export. See http://news.oreilly.com/2008/07/simple-pretty-printing-with-xs.html for an example .xsl file (which you will set in document.xmlExportPreferences.transformFilename; see http://jongware.mit.edu/idcs6js/pc_XMLExportPreference.html )

  • How to recover IN & OUT after exporting XML file from iMovie9 to FinalCut ?

    Here is my WorkFlow :
    - Log & Capture my HDV footage in FCP - ProRes422.
    - Move the captured ProRes 422 clips to a new EVENT in iMovie.
    - Roughcut my edits in iMovie with no effects, no audio goof offs, ... just straight cuts.
    - Share ( export ) XML FCP file >> import XML file to FCP >> create Archive of FCP project with MediaManager to gather used clips in a new project.
    Everything is great, BUT :
    clips that MediaManager gathers in the browser window do not have the In & Out points, although clips on the timeline representing frame accurate cuts from iMovie.
    Is there any way to do this and have the in & out points in browser clips matching to the cuts on the timeline ?

    Do what you want, I'm not trying to change your workflow, but you can do all you say you do in FCP. If you change the browser to icon view, you can place the icons in a storyboard sequence right in the browser, and the icons are scrubable as well. In FCP, you can export EDLs, which you can't do in iMovie. You can also set the timeline window to dislplay the clips in Filmstrip view, which gives you the same visual representation that you have in iMovie. If you zoom all the way into your timeline, you can see every single frames as a thumbnail.
    You already have the pro application. You're really only slowing yourself down by rough cutting in iMovie. But do as you will. In the end, it's really only about telling a story. I just prefer to have the least amount of obstacles while doing so.

  • Export HRMS data to a flat file

    Hi All!
    Are there any ways of exporting employee related data to a flat file without using a client app (PeopleCode or Integration Broker), that is simply generate a CSV feed from UI?

    You can Schedule a query and specify the output format as text. Note that when you select View Log/Trace in process monitor, you will see a file with a .csv extension. However, it will open by default in Excel, and even if you select Save instead of Open it will try to change the extension to .xls. You will have to change it back to .csv.

  • How can we export table data to a CSV file??

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement. Initially business agreed upon, exporting the table data to Excel file. But now, they would like to export the table data to a CSV file, which is not being supported by af:exportCollectionActionListener component.
    Because, when i opened the exported CSV file, i can see the exported data sorrounded with HTML tags. Hence the issue.
    Does someone has any solution for this ... Like, how can we export the table data to csv format. And it should work similar to exporting the data to excel sheet.
    For youre reference here is the code which i have used to export the table data..
    ><f:facet name="menus">
    ><af:menu text="Menu" id="m1">
    ><af:commandMenuItem text="Print" id="cmi1">
    ><af:exportCollectionActionListener exportedId="t1"

    >filename="CommunicationDistributionList"
    >type="excelHTML"/> ---- I tried with removing value for this attribute. With no value, it did not worked at all.

    Hi Alex,
    I have already visited that POST and it works only in 10g. Not in 11g.
    I got the solution for this. The solution is :
    Use the following code in jsff
    ==================
    <af:commandButton text="Export Data" id="ctb1">><af:fileDownloadActionListener contentType="text/csv; charset=utf-8"
    >filename="test.csv"
    >method="#{pageFlowScope.pageFlowScopeDemoAppMB.test}"/>
    ></af:commandButton>
    OR
    <af:commandButton text="Export Data" id="ctb1">><af:fileDownloadActionListener contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=utf-8"
    >filename="test.csv"
    >method="#{pageFlowScope.pageFlowScopeDemoAppMB.test}"/>
    ></af:commandButton>
    And place this code in ManagedBean
    ======================
    > public void test(FacesContext facesContext, OutputStream outputStream) throws IOException {
    > DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    >DCIteratorBinding itrBinding = (DCIteratorBinding)dcBindings.get("fetchDataIterator");
    >tableRows = itrBinding.getAllRowsInRange();
    preparaing column headers
    >PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(outputStream);
    >out.print(" ID");
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print("Name");
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print("Designation");
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print("Salary");
    >out.println();
    preparing column data
    > for(Row row : tableRows){
    >DCDataRow dataRow = (DCDataRow)row;
    > DataLoaderDTO dto = (DataLoaderDTO)dataRow.getDataProvider();
    >out.print(dto.getId());
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print(dto.getName());
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print(dto.getDesgntn());
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print(dto.getSalary());
    >out.println();
    >}
    >out.flush();
    >out.close();

    And do the following settings(*OPTIONAL*) for your browser - Only in case, if the file is being blocked by IE
