Exported Interdemia Text Inedxed data from 8.1.7 to 8.1.6

Hi all
I get something interesting problem....I setup Intermedia Text on my DB1 running Oracle 8.1.6, index setup well and query works well. For some reason, I exported some Intermedia Text indexed data from aonther DB2 (8.1.7) and import to the one running 8.1.6. Then I try to index some column in several tables on DB1 , it tell me "DRG-50704: Net8 listener is not running or cannot start external procedures..... " but I am pretty sure all my network configurations are ok...since my intermedia text works well before data importing...To confirm that....I setup lsnrctl status which show me "PLSExtProc has 1 service handler(s)" which is good..I also tnsping extproc_connection_data.xxx , it shows me 'Attempting to contact (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=ipc)(KEY=extproc)) OK (10 msec) " which is nice...I even type "sqlplus username/passwd@extproc_connection_data.xxx " , I get the"ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel ". so I am pretty sure my Net8 or other stuff is right. But I still fail in creating index...and the error message seems similiar to "DRG-50704: Net8 listener is not running or cannot start external procedures..... "
Any one get the same problem as mine?
And idea for that?

When you have to export from a DB version and import into a lower DB version, then the export has to be done using the lowest export utility. In your case you have to export using the 8.1.6 export utility.
If you have access to Metalink have a look at Note:132904.1.

Hi,
if your text edit value is stored in 'lv_string' variable.
then before exporting the value to excel you have to remove CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE
that is '#' from the variable lv_string.
for that use code some thing like this.
REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE in lv_string WITH space.
I think this will do the trick.

I am already big fan of yours and using mail to many Addin from years from word 2007 to Word 2010 :) and still loving it and I use it for access re-authorization from Lines for application accesses . I tried and finally got understanding of the Extract to
mail Addin and after tweaking excel - Text To columns and other few things finally i was able to get the required data - from morning to now :) I am happy to see your provided guidance

Using export/import to migrate data from 8i to 9i

We are trying to migrate all data from 8i database to 9i database. We plan to migrate the data using export/import utility so that we can have the current 8i database intact. And also the 8i and 9i database will reside on the same machine. Our 8i database size is around 300GB.
We plan to follow below steps :
Export data from 8i
Install 9i
Create tablespaces
Create schema and tables
create user (user used for exporting data)
Import data in 9i

How to export a continous waveform data from a while loop?

Hello there,
I need to add noise signal to my waveform which is read from a binary file. I use noise generate vi (deleted the density part) from NI example as my sub VI, and put it into a while loop in order to get the continous noise signal, but I don't know how to export this data. There's no waveform come out from the noise waveform output tunnel (on the while loop). I used output tunnel, didn't work, tried shift register, didn't work... Can anybody help?
Also, how to fix the dt problem for the noise generate vi and my original data ( from binarty file)

I think notifier can do the trick (an example is shown in the master-slave template).
Another possibility can be a FG (or action engine, look for the nugget ActionEngine, it will change your LV-coding life !)

1. You can use Open Hub service to export data into CSV or File Format.
2. You can also use RSCRM_REPORT transaction to export data in to File, for this you need to create query first.
3. You can also use APD to generate file of your cube data.

I have about 4000 family photos which have been scanned and imported to iPhoto. They are all dated the same day, naturally. I'm now in the process of adding metadata to every photo: location, faces, time and year, file name and description.
Once I have gone through every photo, I will put them into albums based on events and the meta data above.
Eventually, I will want to share all these photos with people who should like to see them (and who are not tech savvy...) I'm looking for the best approach to do to this.
1. Will all the metadata that I have added remain in the photos when I export them?
2. What exactly is the best approach to export these 4000 photos?
- As I have gone through all the hard work of sorting the photos in albums, is it possible to export these photos in the albums that they already in?

Hey Experts,
I've finally got a Export process configured out of Data Manager that is just about right. However, when I run it, we're getting both base-level trasnaction data and records at the parent level for 2-3 dimensions which we need to specify as "<ALL>".
Is there any way to filter or restrict the output for just the base-level members?

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. To clarify, the trouble I'm having is when Running a Data Manager package from BPC Excel, I can't select just the base level members from clicking the Member Selector and doing Refresh/Use Filter.
The system seems like it accepts this selection, but does not apply it when running the package.
Does that make sense?

Can't Select or Copy Text or Data from Address Book Contact Card w/out Edit

Is it something I am doing wrong or did someone at Apple have the weird idea to make it impossible to select/copy text in a contact card in Address Book?
Can you drag/select/copy a URL in a contact card in Address Book, e.g. if you had to paste it into another program or even a different contact card? Thanks.

that would be the latter although i suspect it's a bug. it is now also impossible to select all in an address card to quickly copy and paste into a text document. you have to do it one field at a time and it doesn't seem to work with URL at all.

In the the selection screen of the virtual provider through the option display data, am getting message text " the data from the infoprovider involved could not be checked" , and then it brings all the data from the r/3 function module irrespective of the selection by date in the virtual info provider. I am retrieving the data from r/3 function module(RFC) to bw function module assign to virtual infoprovider.

A Virtual Provider does not store data. to view the data in it you will have to use it in a query and check its data.

Extract data from Essbase using APIs

Hi All
I was going through the API documentation for Essbase and data extraction from Essbase using API.
It seems APIs make use of Report script to extract data from Essbase. This would increae the overhead of writing a report script everytime you need to extract data from Essbase.
Is there any other method to extract/export whole or specific data from essbase using APIs?
How does Excel Add-in retrieves data from essbase without any report script?
Can Provider services be helpful in any way to achieve this?

Its hard to say if there is a faster way without knowing how you're doing it now. A few questions:
- why are you using the API to get at Essbase Data, especially if you've already defined a (some) report scripts?
- if you want to use provider services, vs having to ensure all the libraries and the client are present, why not use the JAPI?
- Without seeing your code, its hard to know why you're getting out of memory errors. What are you doing with the data as you're parsing it from the report?
Grid API exists for the C API, and more noteable the JAPI, but not VB(I'm surprised the VB api still exists).
Why not just use the Java API?
