Exporting 400 emails and merging into 1 pdf

I have to export 400 or so emails from Mail into one PDF document to enter into evidence for a legal case. Does anyone know how I would go about this? Many thanks in advance for the loan of your esteemed brains.

You could try this, and it's probably better if you have these messages stored offline. (A bit quicker)
In Mail, select all the messages you wish to 'export'.
Create a new mail - it doesn't have to have an address.
Click in the main body of the mail (the message section.)
If all your mails are still selected, go to 'Edit > Append Selected Messages'.
This should add your selection to your new mail, though it might take some time with 400 messages.
Now choose to print this mail.
In the print dialogue box at bottom left, you should see a button marked 'PDF'. If you click on this, you'll see an option to 'Save as PDF'

You select the printer properties and set the appropriate page size (I think there is a place to set it in PDF Maker too, but not sure). In the printer, this is equivalent to putting the proper paper in the printer.

If nothing works, you most likely have a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple store to confirm.

Unfortunately, that did not work either. I am thinking this may not be possible (at least with 10.1.3.4). What I was hoping for was that I could audit the presentation catalog groups and users. I want to be able to get a list of all the users and the groups they are listed in. Again, this would be helpful so we do not need to keep an external record. If we are removing access to a user or updating the group, we want to make sure we remove them from all applicable groups (Settings>Administration>Manage Presentation Catalog Groups and Users)

OTF formatted Spool and ABAP spool to be merged into a pdf

I am creating a program which merges two spools into one pdf document. Now, the two spools are different, one is in otf format since its a SAP script. Other is a ABAP list. I use function modules CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF & CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to get data in internal table in pdf format. Then I append one after the other & then download. The problem with this is only one of the spools can be seen in output(pdf file) and not both.
Can somebody assist.

We have similar issue when merging two smartforms.
We have applied the following logic :
First populated an internal table OTFDATA1 with OTF data of both forms:
Ex:
    LOOP AT JOB_OUTPUT_INFO-OTFDATA INTO WA_OTFDATA.
      APPEND WA_OTFDATA TO OTFDATA1.
      CLEAR OTFDATA1.
    ENDLOOP.
The we have called the following function:

     CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF'
        EXPORTING
          FORMAT                = 'PDF'
        IMPORTING
          BIN_FILESIZE          = G_FILESIZE
        TABLES

Why is Merge into single pdf using InDesign CS3 and not CS4 ?

I'm new to this so the question may be trivial, but it beats me:
I've created some InDesign files in CS4 and want to combine them into one PDF. So I opened Acrobat 9 Pro and
navigated to "Merge files into single pdf". I chose the CS4 InDesign files to Add and clicked the Combine Files button.
BUT, this starts up InDesign CS3 and not InDesign CS4 and returns a pop-up saying "unidentified error".
Why is starting CS3 InDesign and not CS4, and what is the "unidentified" error ! ?
As background I intially installed CS3 and then updated to CS4, leaving the CS3 applications intact. When I initially
bought CS3, just before CS4 was released I may have created pdfs from InDesign as an experiment, but it is possible I have not done this
since upgrading to CS4.

Thanks Michael, I was not aware of quality issues. Actually this is not really significant for my usage this time. What I'm doing is just using ID to capture notes/images/links etc in several free format ID documents. I then planned to merge them quickly into one pdf using Acrobat. I can easily shuffle the file order around to create a handy portable pdf reference document with the Merge feature.
Doing something similar from ID seemed to me to require me to create pdfs for each ID doc and them to merge them in Acrobat. I did start to write a simple script to do this in ID, but I then realised that I wanted the ordering to vary and the ID files would likely to change. Then I found the merge and bingo, that solved it..... Well it solved it on another CS4 installation that had never seen CS3, but not on my machine which had been upgraded from CS3.
I tried looking in the registry for obvious entries that might point Acrobat to use ID CS3 rather than CS4, but couldn't spot anything. I wonder if there is something buried in there ?

I have 199 emails in gmail to be saved to a file. I do not use the Mail app on the iBook. I found a way to use a gmail gadget, but it would mean going into each and every email and saving as a document.

Yes, it is possible and very easy to do.
If you want your chapters/sections/pages to have the same layout and colour scheme... make your template and and save as template - or use teh same free template for each chapter.
Create a Master version - and it is to this you will eventually copy and paste youe separate chapters.
Just select and copy the chapter and open the master.. then paste in the left "Book" column.
If you are using different chapter layouts - It also takes its template and that also appears in the hidden Layout tree.
I use this method on every book, simply because it does not slow down the machine. A multi chapter book with videos and photo images makes a big file - which is slow to process every time you preview or check things.

I exported a user profile settings into a file and triedd to import saved file into same environment where I exported, but I am getting following error
"Login name already in use"
I followed the same process for restoring groups.Exported groups into a file and imported saved file into same environment, I was successfully restored thr groups.But I am failing to restore the user settings.
Any help or suggestions on this issue is greately appreciated.

Importing into the same environment is not supported.
Instead, you could create all the test users in production with all the roles and then deactivate the user, so they are not usable.
After you overwrite the non-production DBs with the production DB, you could then run a script (you will have to create it first) to activate all the users.

Thanks for the response, this is actually an adobe form that has been saved as an adobe dynamic XML pdf. Is there a way to do this in a form via code?
What I would like to do is attach a supporting document to the form and Print both the form and the supporting document with a simple click, is this possible?
Any help or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Combine Files tool in PDF Pack can combine multiple files into a single PDF file, but adding page number to each page of the single PDF file has be done in Adobe Acrobat.

Copying text from emails and Word into a GoLive 9 webpage

Most of my web work involves copying and pasting text from emails and/or Word onto a page created in GoLive and uploading it to the web. In the past this has never been a problem with previous versions of GoLive. Now with GoLive 9, I constantly get extra characters appearing such as "" where almost every space is located between sentences. Foreign characters often appear as strange symbols whereas they copied over perfectly (French and German-type accents etc) before.
When I copy something I now have to go to a menu item [type/HTML/paragraph format] to turn "paragraph" off which helps get rid of the extra formatting not wanted (often everything appears in a large bold font, even though it wasn't like this in the original document). Also until I turn off "paragraph" I am unable to align any of the text as it has a mind of its own, regardless of what the webpage is specifying, (ie left alignment, centred etc).
Is there any way to copy and paste text without having to editor and reformat it - just as one used to do in all previous versions of GoLive?

That is an interesting idea but is still really a lot of unnecessary mucking around when GoLive 9 should do all this automatically with no fuss at all. I have been using GL since its early PageMill days and never had this problem before.
I understand what you mean by using a blank page - I might give it a try.
I found CS2 was getting slower and slower on my PowerPC. I now have an Intel iMac. Sometimes I would go to open a GL file and I could make a cup of tea waiting for it to open (admittedly it was a large file with lots of table cells and photos). Now I can open the same file in a few seconds using GL9. I looked up the Adobe support for 10.5 and it was listed as having issues which wouldn't be resolved. Photoshop Elements 4 was listed the same yet I had had no problems with it. A friend had huge problems with InDesign when he changed to 10.5. I guess it varies from computer to computer.
Only yesterday my GL9 refused to open and thanks to these forums, we found out that yesterday's Opera browser update was the culprit. Having had such quick success using these forums I thought I would give this annoying copying problem a try and see if there was some setting I could change or something I could do to correct the fault.
