Exporting as html table

Is it possible to change the html export settings? I would like to export html as table? #
I was told there are some problems when using <div> tags in some email readers if you are producing a html newsletter.

You cannot modify the way that Muse exports HTML in the program, but you can edit the markup it outputs however you like. Just be aware there isn't a way to import those changes.
E-mail marketing friendly output is something we are investigating, but I don't have any timeframe to offer you in regards to when it would be implemented.  I'd reccomend going to the ideas tab and making your voice heard there as its a way to impact prioritization.
Cheers,
Justin

    I was exporting HTML table to .CSV file.
    Problem is if any field contains '>' or '<' symbol then after exporting to .CSV, it was showing like '&gt' and '&lt' and the code is  as below.
    //Export HTML table to CSV
    function toCSV() {
          var data = document.getElementById('reportstable');
          var csvData = [];
          var tmpArr = [];
          var tmpStr = '';
          for (var i = 0; i < data.rows[0].cells.length; i++)
            tmpArr.push((data.rows[0].cells[i].innerText || data.rows[0].cells[i].textContent));
          csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
          for (var i = 1; i < data.rows.length; i++)
            tmpArr = [];
            for (var j = 0; j < data.rows[0].cells.length; j++)
            tmpArr.push(data.rows[i].cells[j].innerHTML);
            csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
          var output = csvData.join('\n');
          SaveContents(output);
    //For saving the file
    function SaveContents(element) {
            if (document.execCommand) {
                var oWin = window.open("about:blank","_blank");
                oWin.document.write(element);
                oWin.document.close();
                var success = oWin.document.execCommand('SaveAs', false, "FilteredReport.xls")
                oWin.close();
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    According to your post, a problem occurred when you exported the HTML table to Excel(.CSV).
    The following code for your reference:
    function toCSV() {
    var data = document.getElementById('reportstable');
    var csvData = [];
    var tmpArr = [];
    var tmpStr = '';
    for (var i = 0; i < data.rows[0].cells.length; i++)
    tmpArr.push((data.rows[0].cells[i].innerText || data.rows[0].cells[i].textContent));
    csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
    for (var i = 1; i < data.rows.length; i++)
    tmpArr = [];
    for (var j = 0; j < data.rows[0].cells.length; j++)
    tmpArr.push(data.rows[i].cells[j].innerHTML);
    csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\t'));
    var output = csvData.join('\n');
    SaveContents(output.replace(/&lt;/g, '<').replace(/&gt;/g, '>'));

  • Export to excel with javascript/vbscript or with plsql(html table)

    i have searched for a way to export data from OracleXe to excel without losing formatting .
    So far i have found 2 possible relatively easy ways that i am still researching
    (i do not include the ask tom sylk format way of exporting )
    1 to export the query to a html table, while using stylesheets for formatting
    (using microsoft specific styles)
    2. use of javascript/vbscript to fill an array and write this array to excel with use
    of visual basic for applications in excel.This also provides charting capabilities.
    I am still researching this two ways, and have
    encountered a few obstacles (help would be appreciated)
    1 the first way:
    a. create a button " export to excel"
    b. create the following pl/sql procedure:
    owa_util.mime_header('application/vnd.ms-excel');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
      HTP.PRINT('<html>');
      HTP.PRINT('<head>');
      HTP.PRINT('<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html">');
      HTP.PRINT('<title>Title of the HTML File</title>');
      HTP.PRINT('</head>');
      HTP.PRINT('<body TEXT="#000000" BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF">');
      HTP.PRINT('<h1>Heading in the HTML File</h1>');
      HTP.PRINT('<p>Some text in the HTML file.');
      HTP.PRINT('</body>');
      HTP.PRINT('</html>');
    htmldb_application.g_page_text_generated := true;
    htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    c: run the procedure conditionally based on the button  "export to excel"
    the problem with this way is that using htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true; is not the ideal way, because it
    stops further processing, but if i leave it out, the export doesn't happen.
    To export to excel while retaining data formatting  you have to use microsoft excel
    specific styles(Seedocumentation on the microsoft site)
    2.The second way:
    a create a pl/sql procedure or sql query.
    b use this query to fill a vbscript/javascript array with values
    c write these values to excel with use of vba in excel :
    the obstacle i encountered here was that i dont know how to export the result of a
    query to a visual basic script or javascript array.

    Using approach 1) works fine for me.
    the problem with this way is that using htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    is not the ideal way, because it
    stops further processing, but if i leave it out, the export doesn't happen. Why is this a problem?
    I created the button to export the excel file on page 1 and created your pl/sql procedure on page 2 using an onload process.
    Works fine.
    Other approaches for exporting to excel are:

  • Exporting data from table to Excel in a particular format using BSP.

    Hello all,
          I am creating a application in BSP  wherein i have to export data to excel sheet.
      I am able to do that but the output in excel sheet is not formatted. it is displaying the data in a single
    column. For example, the internal table which i am exporting to excel contains fields "product
    name", "area name", country name", "values". all these should be displayed in different columns.How
    can i achieve this functionality.A sample code will be of great help..
    Below is the code i hav written for exporting to excel :
         data: l_len type i,
               l_string type string,
               app_type type string,
               file_content type xstring,
               file_mime_type type string.
         create OBJECT cached_response TYPE cl_http_response EXPORTING add_c_msg = 1.
         cached_response->set_data( file_content ).
         cached_response->set_header_field(
                          name = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
                          value = file_mime_type ).
    LOOP AT itab_xls INTO wa_xls.
       CONCATENATE L_STRING wa_xls-product_name
       wa_xls-area_name
       wa_xls-landx
       CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF INTO L_STRING SEPARATED BY SPACE.
    ENDLOOP.
      APP_TYPE = 'APPLICATION/MSEXCEL; charset=utf-16le'.
      data: l_xstring type xstring.
    call function 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
        exporting
          text = l_string
          MIMETYPE = 'APPLICATION/MSEXCEL; charset=utf-16le'
        IMPORTING
          BUFFER = l_xstring.
    Add the Byte Order Mark - UTF-16 Little Endian
      concatenate  cl_abap_char_utilities=>byte_order_mark_little
                   l_xstring
                   into l_xstring in byte mode.
       cached_response->set_data( l_xstring ).
       cached_response->set_header_field( name  = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
                                         value = 'APPLICATION/MSEXCEL; charset=utf-16le' ).
    *Set the filename into the response header
       cached_response->set_header_field( name  = 'Content-Disposition'
                                  value = 'attachment; filename=gkb_excel.xls' ).
    *Set the Response Status
       cached_response->set_status( code = 200 reason = 'OK' ).
    *Set the Cache Timeout - 60 seconds - we only need this in the cache
    *long enough to build the page and allow the IFrame on the Client to request it.
       cached_response->server_cache_expire_rel( expires_rel = 60 ).
        CALL FUNCTION 'GUID_CREATE'
        IMPORTING
          ev_guid_32 = guid.
        CONCATENATE runtime->application_url '/' guid '.xls' INTO url.
        cl_http_server=>server_cache_upload( url      = url
                                           response = cached_response ).
    Can anyone help me with some solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Gurmahima.

    the issue is here
    LOOP AT itab_xls INTO wa_xls.
    CONCATENATE L_STRING wa_xls-product_name
    wa_xls-area_name
    wa_xls-landx
    CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF INTO L_STRING SEPARATED BY SPACE.
    ENDLOOP.
    instead do the following
    LOOP AT itab_xls INTO wa_xls.
    CONCATENATE L_STRING wa_xls-product_name ','
    wa_xls-area_name  ','
    wa_xls-landx  ','
    CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF INTO L_STRING .
    ENDLOOP.
    and then change the file name extension from xls to csv. it should open properly in excel.
    Note that this is only excel csv file. if you want a proper excel excel file, then
    option one: build a html table with your data into a string and pass it to excel
    option 2: build excel xml using your data into a string and pass it to excel.

  • Do you need to generate HTML table rows from XML in InDesign?

    General issue: you export XML and you get a bunch of content for xml elements that were a table in inDesign. But they don't have any rows, just cell after cell. What will make rows in your output?
    Solution: XSLT; you need to use the @aid:tcols attribute of exported XML to determine the number of columns that your table should be. This is written in XSLT 1.1 so it shoud work with an export from InDesign. If you have problems with using it on export of XML, try using it on the XML afetr it has been exported, in Oxygen or other XSLT processor. Best to save acopy of your files before using the XSLT with them.  Copy all of the plain text and past into a new file, save with your own filename, ending with .xsl file extension. Then when exporting XML from InDesign CS3-5, browse to your new .xsl file and select it. PLEASE read about XSLT files at w3c.schools or other resource if you want to understand what is going on with this file.
    BTW <!-- indicates comments in code -->
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!-- NO WARRANTY that this example code will work as written for your XML file in InDesign. You can add more templates to the output to map your heading styles to h1, h2, etc. -->

  • Need help: Problems with exported Dreamweaver html file in different browsers

    I'm trying to send out a newsletter, and had our designer create it in Dreamweaver, and then export and html file which we uploaded.  For some reason it looks wrong on Mac's, Gmail, and a few issues with Outlook.  Does anyone know how to help with this, or had to work around this problem in the past?
    I've attached our html file as well.
    We're an eco startup with limited time and budget - so any help you have would be so appreciated.
    Thank you!!

    Palo Alto Joins the Ban Against
             Non-Recyclable Materials
           This Spring, Palo Alto joined the list of more than 30 cities and counties in California who are making good on their efforts toward reducing their greenhouse gas emissions
           by enacting partial or comprehensive bans on polystyrene (PS) foam and/or non-recyclable disposable foodservice containers. Around the same time, a California statewide ban on the use of PS containers was tabled before reaching the State Assembly floor. Representative
           Jerry Hill, one of AB 1358’s sponsors, pulled the bill due
           to concerns addressed in the Appropriations committee hearing of the bill, regarding the fiscal impacts which
           were not addressed in bill’s contents.
           Largely represented by the California Restaurant Association, opponents of AB 1358 lobbied legislative representatives and argued there would be a negative fiscal impact on struggling restaurant owners and their customers in order to accommodate the more expensive alternatives to PS containers.     There are the unquantifiable and “hidden” costs of contaminating our bodies and environment which would far surpass the fiscal impact on the plastics, restaurants and consumer industries. Studies published by the Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education have indicated that varying levels of styrene residues
             are present in 100% of all human fat tissue in the
             United States, as PS products are found to lose weight after in contact with hot or fatty/acidic foods and liquids, causing migration of the styrene into the food or fluid, ending up in the human body. On the high end, the levels were “one third of levels known to cause neurotoxic symptoms”. In the environment,
             PS is rarely recycled and does not biodegrade.     Supporting safer alternatives to polystyrene, in addition to the collection infrastructure and processing mechanisms for the compostable and recyclable products would help create more green jobs in the long run and would be a move in the right direction away from unnecessary harm
           to our health, our communities and our world. Keep your eyes open for a revised version of AB 1358 in Spring 2010!     For more information about polystyrene

  • Html document ... button in am html table

    Hi,
    I have been exploring the dd classes for some days now. I have a persistent problem which I can not find a way of resolving. I create an html table into which I want to put text and buttons. If for every column I only put in text, then the alignement is quite acceptable. That is the height of the cells are commensurate with the height of the text, or there does not appear to be any padding in the cells above or elow the texts.
    Now to add a button I first add a form area in the column which will contain the button. This works fine but then the height of the cell is no longer just the height of the button. I have tried the methods NO_LINEBREAK( start = 'X' ) and NO_LINEBREAK( end = 'X' ) at the begining and end of the column, that is before going to the next column.
    This has the effect of removing the first break only, so the top of the button is just below the cell top but the bottom of the button is one line break away from the bottom of the cell. So it would appear that a for area always ends with a line break.
    The only way I found to almost do this is to assign 'X' to the attribute line_with_layout. Which should not be done and adds a column to the table anyway.
    So how do I make a cell with the same height as the button taht is inside it.
    Many thanks,
    PD
    Surely there is some simple method.

    Hi,
    Let me send the code snippets. I have tried all that is available. Either there is something missing or I am doing this wrong :
    This first snippets works the best but adds two extra columns after each button. with lv_button = 2 this produces four columns even though I only created for 2.
    create the table
      CALL METHOD gobj_html_doc->add_table
        EXPORTING
          no_of_columns               = lv_columns
          width                       = '100%'
          cell_background_transparent = 'X'
          border                      = '0'
        IMPORTING
          table                       = lv_table_element
          tablearea                   = lv_table_area.
    add columns
      DO lv_columns TIMES.
        lv_width = lv_i MOD 2.
        IF lv_mod EQ 0.
          lv_str = '30%'.
        ELSE.
          lv_str = '70%'.
        ENDIF.
        ADD 1 TO lv_i.
        CALL METHOD lv_table_element->add_column
          EXPORTING
            width  = lv_width
          IMPORTING
            column = lv_column.
        APPEND lv_column TO lt_column.
      ENDDO.
    add buttons
      LOOP AT lt_column INTO lv_column.
        CALL METHOD lv_column->add_form
          IMPORTING
            formarea = lv_form_area.
        lv_form_area->is_line_with_layout = 'X'.
        CALL METHOD lv_form_area->add_button
          EXPORTING
            sap_icon = 'ICON_CHANGE'
          IMPORTING
            button   = lobj_button.
         CALL METHOD lv_table_element->new_row.
      ENDLOOP.
    the following does not work either but no extrra columns are added.
    add buttons
      LOOP AT lt_column INTO lv_column.
        CALL METHOD lv_column->add_form
          IMPORTING
            formarea = lv_form_area.
        lv_form_area->line_with_layout( start = 'X' ).
        CALL METHOD lv_form_area->add_button
          EXPORTING
            sap_icon = 'ICON_CHANGE'
          IMPORTING
            button   = lobj_button.
         CALL METHOD lv_table_element->new_row.
         lv_form_area->line_with_layout( end = 'X' ).
      ENDLOOP.
    and the folling does not help much either.
    add buttons
      LOOP AT lt_column INTO lv_column.
        CALL METHOD lv_column->add_form
          IMPORTING
            formarea = lv_form_area.
        lv_form_area->no_line_break( start = 'X' ).
        CALL METHOD lv_form_area->add_button
          EXPORTING
            sap_icon = 'ICON_CHANGE'
          IMPORTING
            button   = lobj_button.
         CALL METHOD lv_table_element->new_row.
         lv_form_area->no_line_with_layout( end = 'X' ).
      ENDLOOP.
    all I can tell is that there is always a <br> token at the end of the form area. Perhaps the answer is to redefine the method in a derived class?
    If you have more ideas I am certainly opened to them ...
    thanks,
    PD.

  • Save as HTML - tables?

    Hello,
    we are trying to save the FM document as HTML using the built in save as functionality. The tables are exported, but no ruling/borders and straddling information is reflected in the output HTML.
    Does anybody know if there is a way to make FM to export tables with formatting information or any tool that is able to do that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Viktor

    FM10.
    I don't have FM10, and haven't tried HTML generation since FM6 or so, but anyone who can help needs to know the version.
    but no ruling/borders and straddling information is reflected in the output HTML.
    The FM10 on-line help says, in the Troubleshooting and tips on HTML conversion
    Make sure the table formats you use have regular ruling lines defined for at least one body row. Otherwise, the HTML tables will have no lines around table cells.
    I would expect straddles to be converted to spans, since HTML has attributes for that.
    can you suggest some 3rd party sw?
    I'm not sure that's necessary or desired. Earlier versions of Frame used WebWorks Publisher. HTML generation is now built in. I don't know if you can even get WWP for FM10, or if it would provide any features not standard in FM10.

  • Acrobat X combines several images into one when exporting to HTML

    I'm trying to export a PDF that contains a table of text and images to HTML. When I do, Acrobat correctly places the text in an HTML table. The individual images, however, are combined into a single image and appear outside the table. Here's a sample PDF.
    The images in the PDF are simple sparklines. They're generated in Excel 2011 (Mac). Excel, bless it, can't export sparklines to HTML on its own. So I'm exporting to PDF instead. When I open the PDF in Acrobat, I can select and manipulate the images individually, so I don't think they're already combined before the PDF>HTML export. They are afterwards, though. Since the total number of rows that need to be exported to HTML is about 2,000, exporting the images from Acrobat individually isn't a working solution.
    The image that Acrobat exports doesn't even look that great, but a working export would put me miles ahead of where I am now. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Generic advice, which has been true ever since Acrobat 1.0. The fact that you can convert X to PDF, and PDF to Y, does not mean that this is ever a good way to convert X to Y. Too much information is lost at each stage.

  • How to export data within tables in Oracle 10g

    Since I'm using Oracle 10g, thus I wanted to know that do I have the option for exporting data from one table to another or exporting the whole table to some another databases like SQL Server or any other database.

    There are several options, each has different advantages and disadvantages. When both source and target are Oracle;
    1. you can use database links across databases -
    http://psoug.org/reference/db_link.html
    2. you can unload to external tables after 10g and load from external table -
    http://tonguc.wordpress.com/2007/08/09/unload-data-with-external-tables-and-data-pump/
    3. you can use data pump(expdp/impdp) after 10g -
    http://psoug.org/reference/datapump.html
    http://psoug.org/reference/dbms_datapump.html
    4. you can use traditional export(exp) and import(imp) -
    http://psoug.org/reference/export.html
    http://psoug.org/reference/import.html
    5. you can unload to text with an unloader and use sql*loader to load -
    http://tonguc.wordpress.com/2007/09/02/announcement-of-a-new-product-ubsql-from-ubtools/
    http://asktom.oracle.com/tkyte/flat/
    http://psoug.org/reference/sqlloader.html
    for some options you may get the meta information(all table related DDLs) with supplied package DBMS_METADATA;
    http://psoug.org/reference/dbms_metadata.html
    When source is Oracle 10g and target is non-Oracle you may unload to text from Oracle and use the related text loader utility supplied with the other vendor.
    Also Heterogeneous Connectivity is another option between Oracle and non-Oracle systems;
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14232/toc.htm
    If you need more informations please visit Oracle's documentation for your release and search for the topic you are interested; http://tahiti.oracle.com

  • Exporting data in tables to an Excel spreadsheet?

    Is there a script or another way to export or save a documents tables (multiple tables over several pages) to an excel spreadsheet? I have found a solution which involves exporting each spread as a html file which i can then open straight in excel but this is still quite long winded and i can only seem to do this a spread at a time. As the job I am working on involves many pages this is taking too long. Surely there must be a script which can automate this in some way. I am fairly new to scripting so any help will be grateful. I have searched in scripting but nothing has really come close to what i am trying to achieve. Indesign CS5.5 user.

    Thanks for the quick response. I thought it was an applescript because of the word "applescript" within it. Now I'm running it as a jsx. However in my real document with nothing selected, it selects only one table on page 3 to export. I created a new test document with three tables in separate text boxes on one page, and the script only exports the first one. I put the three tables in one big text box (one story), and still it only exports the first one. I tried selecting the second table in the story and ran the script again, but it still just exported the first table.
    What I am hoping for is a script that will export every table to a single excel spreadsheet. Here is an example of the dummy tables with the legend in the first column and the data in the second column. I don't mind if the script exports the legend every time; I can repmove those columns in the excel file.

  • Exporting as html

    Forgive me for being new and inexperienced with both
    Fireworks and this forum, but I am having trouble exporting a
    fireworks png file to dreamweaver. Tghe file is showing up in DW
    but we are having trouble manipulating it. sssThe FW file itself is
    kind of like a frame with a banner at the top, buttons with
    drop-down menus on the left , a banner on the right, an animated
    gif banner on the bottom and a blank space for body copy in the
    center. We want to put text from dreamweaver in the blank center of
    the frame but whenever we type anything into it, it splits the FW
    frame horizontally leaving a blank spot to both the right and left
    of the text. The blank spot vertically expands as you type more
    lines into the body copy. Is that at all understandable? Do I have
    to treat that blank space in the middle in some way so this doesn't
    happen to the frame we exported from Fireworks? Do I need to export
    the frame differently? Should I be asking this on the Dreamweaver
    forum? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    You need to leave a hole in your FW file for the HTML text.
    If you export
    everything as a graphic, there is no room for text, so adding
    text causes
    the entire FW HTML structure to break, which will likely
    happen anyhow. FW
    builds very fragile HTML table structures....

  • Excel export from html/jsp

    Hi,
    I have a jsp-file based on data of a DB2. This data should be exported to an excelsheet, starting the application (not browser plug-in).
    Thanks for help.

    Hi,
    some solution here :
    1. if you've create an Excel file, just set the response content type to 'application/vnd.ms-excel' and send the file data to response.
    2. write data to response.out, each document line will be a sheet line, every colum are separate by a tabulation
    3. write an HTML TABLE which contains data to response.out
    Hope this helps.
