Exporting Data in Tab Deliminated format
Does anyone know if it is possible to export a report from ZAM 7.5 using Tab Deliminated format rather than CSV?
I need to create an automated export in TAB delinated format for comparison to other systems, all I can find is options for CSV output.
Thanks
Mark

How to export data in fixed lengh format
I want to take data in 4 tables, and export the data to a fixed lenght flat file format. Then have that file sent to an email address. How can I do this?
Suzie,
I never used Toad ;-) But I always use the Oracle SQL Developer instead (which is for free by the way).
SQL Developer gets installed with every 11g database installation but you could install it also to your 9.2 or 10.x environment - just grab it from otn.oracle:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
(will take two minutes to install). Then you'd just define your connection to your target database, go into REPORTS (left side) and define a USER DEFINED REPORT. That's pretty easy because for instance you'd just say 'select * from scott.emp;' - once the report gets executed just move your mouse over one of the rows, hit the right mouse buttom and choose the last entry: EXPORT DATA - you'll have the options of TEXT, CSV, SQL LOADER FORMAT, INSERT, XML, HTML and XLS ;-)
Another possibility within SQL*Plus would be using the column format options (the font of this webpage scrambles the output columns but in SQL*Plus you'll get everything formated in a fixed length format:
column "info" format A11
column "P1" format 99999
column "P2" format 99999
column "P3" format 99999
SELECT Info " ", P1, P2, P3
FROM tr_PortfolioSummary
ORDER BY SortOrder
P1 P2 P3
Nb Bonds 10 40 40
Nb Warrants 20 50 50
Nb Shares 30 60 60
Kind regards

Exporting data from a html format into database
Hello:
Maybe someone can help me. I wrote a Test Stand program and save the test results in the html format everyone liked be able to access the data thru a web page but now we want to save the data to a database witch I was able to do. I need import the files save in html to the database. Does any knows how to do this or at least convert into a .txt or .csv formatHey Toro,
Unfortunately there is no utility that will parse your HTML format files into your DataBase. This is primarily because the report files don't have all the information that is stored in the database. The data stored in the database is quite complex. So you might have to resort to manually inserting the fields, although this process is quite tedious. Also you cannot really convert your HTML files into .csv file, just because once a report is created TestStand doesn't know what data fields of the HTML file is important or not.
I'll place a product suggestion over to R&D to maybe look into creating a utility for our future releases.

Export Of Data In The .CSV Format With Column Headings On Top
I'm trying to export data in the .csv format from a report (Crystal Reports XI Release 2). When I export the data, the heading appears in the first few columns on the left hand side (i.e. columns "A" thru "G") for every row, rather as a column heading on top. These header describe the data beneath it. I tried various combinations of export options. The file needs an extension .csv (or .xls) for the tool that uses the data. Any suggestions how I can accomplish this ?
Abhishek,
I tried to apply your solution, but forgot that the Crystal Reports support desk updated my version of Crystal Reports XI to Release 2 for a previous problem. My CDs are Crystal Reports XI Release 1. Now I can't export at all until I figure out how to turn on the export option. I do have access to older version (version unknown) that came with one of business system. The options it has are "Character", "Tab", and "Delimeter" for "Separated Values (CSV)". It does not have the option that you mentioned. Is there a similar option with this older version ? Lastly, How can I turn on the "Export" for "Crystal Reports XI Release 2" ? Thanks ! ! ! -
Crystal Report 8.5 (Date/Time Tab Missing)
Hi All,
I have been using Crystal Reports Pro 8.5 (SP3) for a while now but I have come across one problem which I cannot understand.
All Date and Time fields within our SQL database are showning in Crystal as only Date fields even though they are definately Date Time field. If I explore the field data within Crystal it only shows me the Date field.
The interesting twist is my work colleague has got the same O/S Windows 7 and the exact same version of Crystal as me and he is able to see the Date/Time tab when formatting the field and Crystal identifies the field as a DateTime field.
Any help would be much appericated.
ThanksHello,
It's the ODBC driver you are using, or how ever you are connecting. They are likely using a newer version which CR see's the data/time field type and not convert it to a date field.
Or it could be one of your Report Options. 8.5 is 10 years old not so I don't recall what the reason for this was now.
Check your database driver and settings.
Thank you

SQL Developer 3.2 - Exporting data with TIMESTAMP datatype
Hi,
We have users that are attempting to export data with the Timestamp format to Excel (xls format) using SQL Developer 3.2. When attempting to sort the Timestamp in either asc or desc order, Excel is having issues sorting correctly. I suggested that the user just do all the sorting within their SQL Developer session but they require the ability to slice and dice in Excel.
This is definitely not an issue with Excel as the users have previously exported Timestamp data from Toad and been able to sort without issue. Any thoughts as to what might resolve this issue?
Thanks.We're not formatting timestamps in Oracle as numbers/dates in Excel. They'll need to properly format the Excel column/cells to get it to sort the way they want vs being treated as simple strings.

Exporting spatial data to SHP or TAB file format
Hi,
I have a couple of layers (maps) uploaded as spatial data into an Oracle database. What I'd like to do now is export those maps (data) as standard file format like ESRI Shape or MapInfo TAB file, i.e. write out the data as SHP or TAB file(s) to the disk.
Is this possible?
Any hints, reference or third party solution will do.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Here is the original process I followed to upload map data to Oracle.
1) I had the map data as MapInfo TAB files.
2) Used the EasyLoader application shipping with MapInfo to upload the data into Oracle.
All I need now is the reverse engineering.If you want to export to ESRI shape and MapInfo and do not have SDE or MapInfo then I would suggest looking into FME (www.safe.com). Look at the Oracle Suite product. You can download an evaluation product. It will export from Oracle Spatial to both formats.
Thanks

Hi all,
we have noticed unproper value modification during export in tab delimited format.
Please find example below:
The proper value is 24150170000011615 (it is state register number of enterprise).
The wrong value is 24150170000011600.
Correct value:
http://s12.postimg.org/v2gpqqzgd/obiee_1.png
How do we export data from obiee:
http://s23.postimg.org/6k7dwiezf/obiee_2.png
Wrong value after export:
http://s22.postimg.org/qdgqgogn5/obiee_3.png
What should we do to fix it?The bigger picture is as follows:
I have a button on my report that essentially should download the output of report to tab delimited text file. This button is integrated with a custom built class which has a main method. When I click on the button, the logic written in the main method gets executed.
In this method I generate my internal table and pass to cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download method with parameters mention above.
I try debugging but every thing seems to be working correct when sy-subrc = 0 through executable program and it does not enter into the download method logic when i do it through main method, instead sy-subrc is straight set to 6 (unknown error).

Thread: Export Data in TSV format (International / Unicode characters)
Hi OAF Gurus,
Question: Export data in TSV format ? how
I am working in JDEV 10g, OA Framework 12.0.6.
I have a page which has a OA Table populated with data, I need to export this data in a TSV (*Tab Separated values*) format.
I know that we can add a “Export” button and then the data is exported in a CSV (comma Separated values) format.
The question is how to save in TSV format instead.
Reason for using TSV format: Our Data contains Unicode characters(Asian characters) which CSV files will not support. (FYI: Oracle Forms export in TSV format)
Thanks in Advance
Chaitanyause class CL_ABAP_CONV_OUT_CE

Exporting data from table to Excel in a particular format using BSP.
Hello all,
I am creating a application in BSP wherein i have to export data to excel sheet.
I am able to do that but the output in excel sheet is not formatted. it is displaying the data in a single
column. For example, the internal table which i am exporting to excel contains fields "product
name", "area name", country name", "values". all these should be displayed in different columns.How
can i achieve this functionality.A sample code will be of great help..
Below is the code i hav written for exporting to excel :
data: l_len type i,
l_string type string,
app_type type string,
file_content type xstring,
file_mime_type type string.
create OBJECT cached_response TYPE cl_http_response EXPORTING add_c_msg = 1.
cached_response->set_data( file_content ).
cached_response->set_header_field(
name = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
value = file_mime_type ).
LOOP AT itab_xls INTO wa_xls.
CONCATENATE L_STRING wa_xls-product_name
wa_xls-area_name
wa_xls-landx
CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF INTO L_STRING SEPARATED BY SPACE.
ENDLOOP.
APP_TYPE = 'APPLICATION/MSEXCEL; charset=utf-16le'.
data: l_xstring type xstring.
call function 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
exporting
text = l_string
MIMETYPE = 'APPLICATION/MSEXCEL; charset=utf-16le'
IMPORTING
BUFFER = l_xstring.
Add the Byte Order Mark - UTF-16 Little Endian
concatenate cl_abap_char_utilities=>byte_order_mark_little
l_xstring
into l_xstring in byte mode.
cached_response->set_data( l_xstring ).
cached_response->set_header_field( name = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
value = 'APPLICATION/MSEXCEL; charset=utf-16le' ).
*Set the filename into the response header
cached_response->set_header_field( name = 'Content-Disposition'
value = 'attachment; filename=gkb_excel.xls' ).
*Set the Response Status
cached_response->set_status( code = 200 reason = 'OK' ).
*Set the Cache Timeout - 60 seconds - we only need this in the cache
*long enough to build the page and allow the IFrame on the Client to request it.
cached_response->server_cache_expire_rel( expires_rel = 60 ).
CALL FUNCTION 'GUID_CREATE'
IMPORTING
ev_guid_32 = guid.
CONCATENATE runtime->application_url '/' guid '.xls' INTO url.
cl_http_server=>server_cache_upload( url = url
response = cached_response ).
Can anyone help me with some solution.
Thanks in advance.
Gurmahima.the issue is here
LOOP AT itab_xls INTO wa_xls.
CONCATENATE L_STRING wa_xls-product_name
wa_xls-area_name
wa_xls-landx
CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF INTO L_STRING SEPARATED BY SPACE.
ENDLOOP.
instead do the following
LOOP AT itab_xls INTO wa_xls.
CONCATENATE L_STRING wa_xls-product_name ','
wa_xls-area_name ','
wa_xls-landx ','
CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF INTO L_STRING .
ENDLOOP.
and then change the file name extension from xls to csv. it should open properly in excel.
Note that this is only excel csv file. if you want a proper excel excel file, then
option one: build a html table with your data into a string and pass it to excel
option 2: build excel xml using your data into a string and pass it to excel.

Suppose i am having 5 tab pages on my screen and having one export button, is it possible to export all tabs data in one go in a .xls by pressing the export button.Batul,

Issue in cell format when exporting data to excel
Hello there,
I have an ABAP program that selects data from tables into an internal table and writes the data in CSV (excel) file.
I have a very weird issue when writing the file: The data is written properly, though the dates in my data, which is written in yyyymmdd format, has different cell format in the csv file itself. I'll expain:
Let's say I've written into CSV file a table with name and birthdate, and I have 2000 records. From record 1 to 1475, when I right-click on the date cells in those lines, and choose "cell format", I can see it's in "general" format. From line 1476 on, when I do that I see that the date cells are in format of "custom" with pattern 'yyyymmdd'.
I want all the cells to be "general". How do I do that?
Thanks in advanceHi Daniel,
Try using these Function Module......................
Before filling final internal table write those condition.................................
Data: gv_date TYPE mch1-vfdat,
gv_vdate(10) TYPE c.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_DATE_TO_EXTERNAL'
EXPORTING
date_internal = gv_date
IMPORTING
date_external = gv_vdate
EXCEPTIONS
date_internal_is_invalid = 1
OTHERS = 2.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
* Implement suitable error handling here

Good day!
Who can help me that to export data in SAP by KE30 Transaction Code? We planed to do some things on browser using SAP GUI for HTML and ITS 6.20 in SAP R/3 640. Now, our end-user occur one problem that they need outgoing the data wanted through browser from SAP(Triggered by KE30). In the SAP GUI for Windows, they can do it to export data into specified format (as XXL), but that for HTML can't done. The problem had a message shown below: The presentation server does not function in Windows. Which other way to resolve this? Please tell us, thank you!The XXL export is not supported by Sapgui for HTML(Webgui) via Office Integration. See note: 512068 Office integration and SAP GUI for HTML
However there is a workaround available, this is described in note:
