Exporting just ONE site

Hello. I have 3 websites on the iWeb of my iMac. I have 2 websites on the iWeb of my MacBook. I would need either to merge all these sites or at least export one site from iMac to MacBook... Any suggestions?
Thank you

iWeb stores your website's data in a domain file whose default location is Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.
Its a lot easier to manage multiple websites if they are built on separate domain files. I keep mine in separate folders and launch them individually in iWeb by double clicking the appropriate domain file.
The alternative is to use an application like iWebsites to manage them. This application is also capable of merging domain files.

You can split up sites that are built on one domain file by duplicating the file as many times as there are websites and placing these duplicates in separate folders. Each one is launched in iWeb in turn and the sites that you don't want are deleted.
I prefer to build each site on a new domain file to decrease the chances of domain file corruption.....

  • How can I publish just ONE site

Everytime I create a new site and publish it to a folder (to place in my own domain) iWeb publishes ALL of the sites every time, no matter whether changes have been made to any site or not.
How do I publish just ONE site?
If I get mobile.me, will I be able to publish just the ONE site I wish to publish?
    Phil

I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • Publish just one site at a time?

I have two sites I'm working on, but when I go to publish just the one it republishes both?
Can I just publish one at a time?
If not, can I delete one site from the list but have it saved else where on the
computer and not have it DELETED completly?
    Thank you.
    PS: I love this iWeb!!!!!

    It's similar
to how I have to delete the index.html file that gets
created in the root directory every time I publish my
    personal site.
Yes, whenever you publish a data file, you get a folder for each site, plus an index.html that points to the site which is at the top of the list in iWeb. Inside each folder is an index.html that points to the page which is at the top of the list for that site.
Maybe it's not that bad. But either way, they should
allow you to have seperate sites edited and saved
independently and published to different locations.
This is a logical improvement to make, i.e. allow the user to save individual data files and then select them again, rather than having to manipulate them by hand or in separate accounts. A third party may well do it, as was the case for managing multiple iPhoto libraries I think.

  • Export just one page from numbers as a pdf

    Hi,
Just wanted to export one page of a numbers spreadsheet, no option to select one page or whole document.
    Anyone have any options?
    Using ipad2.
    Regards
    Peter

I think Poikkeus thinks you're using a Mac.
On the iPad I would duplicate the document and in the dupe delete all but the page you wants to export. Then export that one page as a PDF. Not the best solution but it will work I think.

  • How to publish just one site if you have multiple?

I've searched and nothing seems to be quite covering this question, although I admittedly am not the most patient of searchers...
So, I have about 5 sites in my iWeb. I'm trying to publish *one site* to a folder on the hard drive so I can then use my FTP client to publish to my site. Everytime I've done this (published to a folder), iWeb republishes all of my sites, and some are quite large. Anyway around this or am I missing something? I was considering just deleting my old sites from iWeb, but that seems a bit extreme.
    Please help, macster gurus

Hi Audrey, Bear in mind that I haven't tried this myself, but anyway: How about setting up a different User Account on your Mac for each site that you want to publish separately? ...You would then login as the particular user for the site you want to work on and iWeb would then operate on its unique Domain file in:
    Username/Library/Application Support/iWeb
To divide up your current multi-site Domain, I suppose you would have copy it to the above location for each new user account you set up. Then in iWeb delete the sites you don't want that user to control. (Backup your Domain file somewhere safe before embarking on this.)
Adding a new user account to your computer...
You can create individual user accounts for each person who uses your computer. Each new user has a separate home folder and can adjust his or her own preferences without affecting other users.
    1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Accounts.
    2. If some settings are dimmed, click the lock icon and type an administrator name and password.
    3. Click Add and type the user's name.
    4. If you don't want to use the short name generated automatically, type a new short name. (Once the account is created, you won't be able to change the short name.)
    5. Type the user's password in the Password and Verify boxes.
    6. Type a hint to help the user remember the password if they have trouble remembering it at login.

  • Export just one photo from iPhoto into my iPhone

This should be easy, but I can't figure out how to do it...
How do I take just one photo I have in my iPhoto library, and transfer it onto my iPhone?

Figured it out -- used the "Photos" tab at the top in iTunes (with my iPhone connected to the computer), and synced it.
    Thanks...

  • No formatting/css for just ONE site I go to. How to fix this?

I was watching videos on www.56.com last night. Everything was fine until all of a sudden I clicked on another video link and the page that was displayed lost all of it's formatting and CSS. I had been clicking on video links before that to watch videos and there wasn't a problem then then. Now, I just got a one column list of links. Videos and the structure of the site have completely disappeared no matter what video link I click on.
I have a MAC so have tried reloading the page, using the Command+Shift+R as well as restarting FF in safe mode to make sure it wasn't an add on or plug in issue. I have also reset firefox, cleared my cache, cleared recent history (setting is "everything" and I cleared cookies, cache), made sure images have been allowed on that website but still the problem persists.
I did try to open the website on another browser and that works so I know the issue is with FF. But I don't know how the issue came about since I didn't do any updates or anything and one minute everything was fine and the next minute all formatting was lost.
Any suggestions on what I can do?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
    * Clear the Cache
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=clear-cache-delete-temporary-files-fix-issues How to clear the Firefox cache]''' {web link}
    and
    * Remove Cookies
''This will log you out of all sites you're logged in to. ''
Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Privacy.'''
Under '''History''', select Firefox will '''Use Custom Settings'''.
There is a button on the right side called '''Show Cookies'''.
If there is still a problem,
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Advanced > General.'''
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

  • How can i export just one mailbox from 10.6.8 mail in 10.9.2

    I’m using Mail in 10.9.2.
I took the mail from 2 old POP a/cs and archived it in 4 (i.e. sent + received) folders under ‘On My Mac’.  Then, unfortunately, I deleted the contents of one of those folders.
I have a backup of the emails, but it is in an old version of Mail, in 10.6.8.
How can export the mail for that one folder and import it into the current Mail in 10.9.2?  And will it be compatible?
I’m running Mavericks on a MBP from an external FW800, and 10.6.8 is on the internal drive.

Nothing for 'Export' appears under Help in Mail for 10.6.8 - but it turns out that it's the terminology that's changed.
Creating an Archive of a mailbox provides the way to export it.  Thanks for your suggestions, Tony.  All sorted.

  • Scripting: Export just one slice at a time

I need to selectively export slices, not necessarily all of
    them.
I've only found a method that corresponds to the File/Export
menu (although, via script it doesnt seem to support the 'all
    pages/just this page' option...?)
Is there a way to emulate the same functionality as
'right-click export selected slices' via script?

Thanks altamiraweb, but I cross-posted and I have the answer

(actually I eventually worked it out myself, but I thought
the reply below probably covered it for anybody else)

  • Change MTU for just one Site-to-Site VPN between ASAs?

            Hi -
I'm setting up a Site-to-Site Cisco VPN between ASAs. I'm being told by the remote site engineer to set the maximum MTU at 1362.
Is it possible to set the MTU for one specific site-to-site VPN on my ASA 5510 Security Plus to MTU 1362? I see my interfeces are all set at 1500.
If not, would you recommend I setup a subinterface on my inside network router and a subinterface on the ASA with an MTU of 1362 to get around this issue? Then use this subinterface for traffic from my inside network to transverse through prior to hitting the VPN.
    Thank you.

I would not worry too much about UDP traffics.  I rather concentrate on TCP traffics because almost all of the issues will be TCP.
Therefore, I would set the MSS value to 1362 or may be like 1300:   sysopt connection tcp-mss 1300
That will solve most of  your issues.

  • Publishing Just One Site...How Could This Even Be An Issue?

I have been checking the discussion boards looking for an answer to what appears to be a serious design flaw. All I want to do is publish one of the two sites I have created on iWeb. From what I read, the only option I have is to use a freeware program called "iWebsites". Is this true? I can't believe there isn't another reasonable workaround. Someone....a little help please?

There are lots of posts on this subject. The way I do iit is to create indivual domain files in iweb. Once you have created the first move the domain file out of the user library/application support/iweb folder and then click on iweb it will prompt you to open an existing site or to create a new one. Back up the domain file before doing anything, and then keep each domain file as a separate entity. I rename my domains so I know what they are.
To split your existing site make 2 copies of the domain file - make a backup first and move it to an external drive if you can.
Open the 1st copy and delete one of the sites - save and then repeat with the 2nd copy and delete the other site. Now you should have 2 separate domain files. Make sure you have the files in different places before saving - the best way is to move them to an external drive then you can't over write them.
Hope that makes sense - there are some clever people on here how may well put it in better language.

  • I have tabs that are always reloading and at times it either slows things down or I stopped it before in a previous version. How can you stop this constant refreshing? Its not just one site usually its all of them.

After the last upgrade the tabs will begin refreshing at times it slows my movements the page freezes til it catches up. Or if flashplayer is running it will crash. One of the previous versions had this problem but there was an area to go to, to disable it. Ive tried about:config but it still refreshes. Im using Wimdows 7

Thank you both so very much for your quick replies.  that is what I thought but the your assurances  help me ease my anxiety.  And yes the credit union has made a change because now it no longer recognizes my computer as a personal computer when I am using Firefox after the latest Firefox update, and requires me to answer a security question to log in, which is why I had been using Safari, but as I was in Firefox I was lazy and didn't switch browsers.

  • How can I transfer JUST ONE IWeb site to another computer?

I am new to making IWeb sites and am now making them for
other people. I have about 10 sites in my IWeb folder and need to
be able to give a person's site to them.
I need to be able to transfer JUST ONE site to another computer.
Right now, I am only able to transfer ALL the sites I have made to
another mac and then, it wipes out all their sites! How can I prevent
the ultimate wipe out of all their iweb sites yet give them JUST ONE
    of mine?
    thank you in advance,
    Beth http://www.yourzensite.com

First, read Wyodor's post about changing the publishing settings HERE.
You can create the extra folders in Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb or, as I do, in a folder named iWeb in the Home folder.
Create a folder for each website, give it a suitable name and paste the Domain.sites2 file with all the websites into each.
Open each one in turn, double click the Domain.sites2 file to launch it in iWeb, delete all the sites except the one whose name is the same as the folder name, save and quit.
Now you can launch any site individually in iWeb and sent a copy of the appropriate folder to the client.

  • How to post one site only

I have created 3 different sites in iWeb. Two of them I publish to a folder and then via FTP I place them in the appropriate folders at my server. The third is one that I want to publish to my mobile me website. All pretty easy except it won't let me post just one site. Everytime I ask to publish to the ME account I get all three sites. How do I post just one of the sites I've created...
