Exporting nightmare. Getting "codec error."

I just finished my project.... Many hours.
Easy setup is set at HDV-Apple Intermediat Codec 1080i60
Format: apple inter codec
Rate: 19.97
I've tried to export using "Quicktime Conversion" and get an error pretty much no matter what settings I select. I think the correct setting is
HD
1440 x 1080 but that's getting the error too
Occationally I can switch the export settings and get a "General Error."
I'm sooooo bummed.
Any ideas out there kids? Somebody is gonna be a hero today!

I'm on a powerbook, 10.6.8
FCE 4.0.1
My video files are on a Other World Computing external Hard disk.
But my scratch disk is on a MACBOOK hard drive.
(Sounds weird, but FCE has worked as recently as 2 days ago.)
I'm trying to convert to HD 1440 x 1080
I've tried exporting to different formats and sizes, but all of them come up with either codec error or General error.
I've also tried exporting directy to a quicktime movie.... codec error.
Any ideas? I'd like to throw out my prefs, but am not sure what in the heck they are called or where they are stored.
You rock... Think you can help?

Getting codec error in a fcp project NEED HELP ASAP

All of my other projects seem to be working fine, but one project in Paticular when I try to export using "quickime conversion" I get a codec error....as soon as I hit enter...therefore I cannot get it to convert to a quicktime file.
I went an checked another project and it converted fine, it's just this one. how can I trouble shoot this.

Just copy what's in the sequence. This is just a quick fix if it works. You would still probably want to figure out what happened in the old project to avoid it in the future.
Seems like maybe you have the wrong sequence settings or something. Others here would be better equipped to troubleshoot it.

I can't export and get this error message...

So I've been working on a video project for several weeks now... but when I go to export the file to any format, or site like Facebook, Vimeo, Youtube, etc I get this error message...
(com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)
I have no idea what it means or how to fix it. I tried just googling some answers but no luck. Anyone here able to help?

If you are using the original version 10.0 with Mavericks then you simply update to the newer FCP X 10.1.1.
Be aware that this new version is very different in some ways particularly with the way media is managed.
There is now the Library method of storing Projects and Events within Libraries.
Older Projects and Events require an internal FCP X UPDATE process.

Cannot export zoneset, getting the error ""interface not isolated""

Customer is trying to run the command "zoneset export vsan <VSAN ID> and is getting the error "interface not isolated". Looking the manuals, it sounds that the interface should not really be isolated. The customer has a new mds 9124 and is trying to integrate it in the san that has another mds9513 and a brocade. The domain if of the new mds is 100. The mds9513 domain id is 99 and the brocade domain id is 98. The interop mode is 1 in all the switches. Does someone has any idea what is happening?

well i think that u are creating the web page but the paths u are giving in web export options are arbitrary..like u are export it to the local directory in the hark disk and in the server url u are giving the arbitrary path but not accessing it till now...to correct this option see the code of the u'r generated html page and see from where it is retrieving code just change the url to the local folder instead of server url given of required ddl..

I keep getting "codec error" when trying to render my transitions. I tried changing my codec but then I have to render my entire footage.

The first screenshot is my raw footage info.
The second screenshot is what I set my sequence to. This made me able to edit without rendering, but now that I am putting in transitions, I have to render and when I try to render it says "codec error". Anyone know what I'm missing?

When I go to Easy Setup I don't see ProRes there either.

While exporting i get "general error"

I was doing a project that was had about 12 different sections so I just edited them all in different sequences. Well when I was done I just took all of the sequences from the browser and dropped them on the time line and rendered it. I then exported it as QuickTime conversion as an uncompressed file. It would get to about 40% and it would just stop and a window would come up and all it would say is general error. What is wrong, thankyou Joe.

It could be many things. Whatever it is its about 40% of the way in your timeline.
It could be a corrupt clip or graphic. More likely to be a graphic so if there any graphics around there make sure they are RGB and not CMYK.
It could be a corrupt render. Select a chunk in the vicinity and Control Click>Choose Remove Attributes> Make sure NOTHING is selected and choose OK. The render it again.
FWIW I had this issue a LOT with a project I worked on recently. I think I had a cranky drive. It kept corrupting my audio render files. So every time it would happen I would just do the remove attributes trick with the audio and that would fix it most of the time.
Post back and let us know if any of that helped or not.

When I try to Export, I get an error code from compressor (-1)?

I have battled with this issue now for days and I dont know what else to do, I just recently installed the OSX Mavericks beta 2, however I do not think this is the problem
I am running a 2012 15" 2.6 i7 Quad Core, 8Gb ram MBP (With problem export problem)
I also have a 2011 iMac, 2.7 i5 Quad Core, 12Gb ram (no problems)
I have never had issues with FCPX like this before and It still runs perfectly other than the fact that EVERY single option under the SHARE toolbar is frozen.
It gives me an error code from compressor saying that it coudnt be sent to it (Compressor 4). I tried re-installing it and deleteing the preferences. I tried to trash the preferences in FCPX, I tried deleting all the render files, I tried shutting down FCPX and re-opening it many times, I checked for any damaged video/audio, and NOTHING has worked. Please Help

Where did this disk image come from? The application has no installer. It installs directly into the Applications folder from the App Store. Are you trying to run the application from the disk image?

Codec error with h.264

I am trying to export a slide show sequence in FCP 4.5 as a quicktime movie. trying different codecs and file sizes to see what works for best res without jittering the computer. when I export with h.264 odec, i just get "codec error" and nothing happens. I have quicktime 7.0.4 installed.
anyone seen this? any ideas?
and if you have any thoughts on a great codec to export a slide show as a self-contained quicktime movie at a HIGHER res than 720x480 which doesn't slow down the computer, let me know. i have tried at 1280x864 with h.263, mpeg4 and sorensen 3 and they all bog down on my pb 1.25

and...when I render the sequence with h.264, it works fine, when I export the sequence as a .mov file with current settings (incl h.264) it works fine, when I export as a .mov file with CUSTOM settings and compression set to h.264, I get "codec error".

Indesign export to Dreamweaver XHTML, error undefined is not an object

Please could you read the following email and make any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Exporting it to a pdf and then again to HTML works okay so long as the text isnt in columns. Acrobat doesnt put the text in the right order which is a pain. Here is a breakdown of what i am doing and whats happening.
1. Opening an indd file in SERVER NAME/Data/ONLINE/FOLDER NAME/
2. Going to File à Cross-media Export à XHTML/Dreamweaver
3. Saving the file in SERVER NAME/Data/ONLINE/FOLDERNAME/indd exports/
4. In the export settings i am changing the Advanced settings to make sure there is No CSS
5. I hit Export and get this error message: undefined is not an object
If you go in to the indd export folder you can see that i have managed to export about half the files, the rest all have the same error message and i have no idea why.
I have tried the following:
1. Substituting all fonts it couldnt find on my computer for the default fonts
2. Taking out all the images (we dont need them, just the text)
3. Closing everything down and rebooting CS3
4. Closing everything down and rebooting the Mac
5. Saving the file on to the local machine and trying again

What do you mean by "nested paragraph styles in your document"? How do I find these in my document?
I went to all the Paragraph Styles Options -> Drop Caps and Nested Styles that I've defined im my doc and none of them have these (Drop Caps and Nested Styles) configs. Is this what you refer to?

Codec Error issue when Rendering

Greetings. I am receiving a codec error when attempting to render footage. In addition, I have a grey frame with a "+" in the middle where the screengrab should be in the timeline. Finally, in the viewer, on the clips that will not render there is a black X in a white circle at the beginning of the clip. See attached image.
When I attempt to render, I get "Codec Error" with only the option to click "OK".

In regards to the error, what codec are you working with?
In regards to the lack of thumbnail, try trashing your thumbnail cache.

Used Quicktime to export iMovie and play on a TV, but getting audio codec error

I created an iMovie 11 project and exported it using Quicktime as a HD movie to play on a one year old Samsung big screen TV. The movie file ended in .mov, which the TV would not recognize, so I changed the extension to .mpg and the video plays fine.
The problem I have is that during the first 3 or 4 seconds of the movie, I get an error pop up on the TV screen that the audio codec is not supported, obviously newer than the TV, right?
So I updated the TV to the latest firmware via Samsung's website and that all went as expected. However, the error message is still there.
The movie is made up completely of still images, so there is no audio to detach, and I can find no other settings to disable the audio portion of the movie.
Anyone run into this before and be able to share some advice, please?

I am trying to export a video I have made in FCP 10.0.8 to Youtube or to a master file and I keep on getting an error -50, or "error exporting master file at frame 20074" Any ideas?

Having used FCExpress for a while I decided to give FC Pro X a trial, I created my first video with it, exported to youtube and it worked fine. I am now trying to export my second video to youtube and I get an error -50 which means absolutely nothing. Not being defeated that easy I tried exporting to a mster file using the H.264 codec and I get an error "exporting master file at frame 20074" - again another useless error. It takes at least 10 minutes to get to this error after the rendering has started, it gets about 12% in. Any ideas where to start - I am seriously at the point of giving up with Final Cut Pro X simply on the basis of it being more trouble than its worth - I am just glad I did not pay for it yet...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec. I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app. Any ideas?

Suddenly can't export anything...."Codec Error"

I'm using FCE HD 3.5.1 on a Mac Pro and have been using the program successfully for months until just recently.
It has now come to the point where I can't export my four minute movie at all. I simply get a message that reads "Codec error".

One quick update - I tried uninstalling using AppZapper and then reinstalled STP 3.0 again - and it seems like I can now export to MP3, but not WAVE or AIFF.
Also, the mic input being garbled seems to have been fixed as well.
Am I missing something? All I'm trying to do is:
1. Create a Multi-track project
2. Record about 10 seconds of audio to one (stereo) track.
3. Do a multi-take on that track
4. Pick the pieces I want in the final composition
5. Render out the main composition to wav
I've been able to do steps 1-4 just fine - but for whatever reason I can't get ste 5 working at all!

Instead of Share to Media Browser, what happens if you try Share Menu > Export Movie... (choose Large size) and save it to the Desktop?
If that fails try Share Menu > Export using QuickTime...
Then pick Movie to QuickTime Movie, then click on Options... which is just to the right of Export
Under the Video section click on Settings...
Then in the pulldown menu at the top, titled Compression Type: Choose Apple Intermediate Codec. Then click OK. And click OK again, and save it to the desktop. Once the .mov file is created, you can import that into iDVD and most likely it will work in Wondershare Creator if you prefer to use that instead.
