Exporting offline image

Is it possible to export offline image (namely - the saved preview) from Lightroom?
I have the Lightroom on my notebook, while the largest part of my library is on an external drive. Having generated standard previews for all library, it is quite comfortable to search, browse and even slideshow all I need when external drive is not connected. BUT, it seems impossible to export (export is failing), edit with external app (not available), Copy to clipboard (no such command at all) an image when the image is offline. I understand, that I can't get the fullsize image (howewhere, sometimes even that can be possible if the fullsize preview is in the cache), but for emailing, it should be enough with the standard previews...
May be, there is some other way, no visible for me? Otherwise, LR is really good and well thought out software, just this omission doesn't let me to feel fully happy with it.

The full size preview is not equivalent to the full size image. One is for monitor display, the other for printing, exporting to PS, etc.

<br />You can make a proof sheet using the templates or brew your own, and then make a PDF in the print dialogue (the latter is built in on the Mac OS) and e-mail that.

  • Help with exporting and image size or boundaries?

I am trying to slide the cat into the scene a little at a time foir an animation project I am working on. However, when I export the image the back ground of the image expands with a checkered back ground( showing here in white) and shows the whole cat.
How do I just show a little of the cat on the image at a time when exporting. I am trying to give the impression that the cat is walking into the room. I do not want to have to cut the cat up.
I would be thankful for any suggestions.

  • When exporting files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might do 524 images but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture, it's the latest version etc etc. Help please!

If anyone can help me with this I would be seriously grateful.
When exporting mutliple files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might make 524 pages but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture and its persmission and am using the latest version of 3.
I have 3600 images which I need to upload as sublfolders, each with their own URL and at the moment Aperture is dropping of anything from 1 to 90 images.
This is critical as people need to see each and every on of these images online. So if a file has 600 photos in it, Aperture should make a URL with 600 full image pages. And this is what it's not doing. On small files, say 30 or so it seems to work well, it's when it gets to more than that the problem starts.
I've used Aperture in the past under previous versions and not had this problem.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.
    Bob.

    Hi Jack,
Thanks for responding (as it seems as though no one else has been able to provide any insight as of yet)! Not sure if you saw my recent post, but the version of Aperture on the 2008 MacBook has been upgraded to 3.1.2 (not sure how; I bought it in 2009, but only have OS X 10.5.8... which apparently can't house 3.1.2 of Aperture, but hey, like many other anomalies i'm encountering, I'm no longer surprised!). I am unable to upgrade it any further, as it warns me that my OS X does not fit the requirements. I exported the projects as libraries; however, like I posted before, apparently these are from too old of a version for the new Aperture (3.3.1) to handle and import.
It's getting to the point where I'd almost pay to upgrade the OS X on my previous MacBook (10.5.8) to something newer in order to THEN update Aperture to a newer version; however, my previous MacBook simply cannot handle this (the specs are awful -- hence my decision to save up and upgrade to the newest MBP with Retina).
I've spent hours upon hours transferring files, libraries as projects, previews, versions, even masters (though, apparently some of them aren't accessible?) with no luck. I've rebuilt the library and reprocessed everything. And this is all after having to return one MBP already since Aperture 3.3.1 is glitch-y as it is, and froze everything for having a "managed library". So, now that I know that I have to deal with a referenced library in Aperture... I just need to actually transfer my previous library to my new one (hopefully WITH adjustments since these are years worth of photos and work).
Again, any help is appreciated. I've lost enough sleep, time, and vision health over this at this point.
Also, I know Migration Assistant is an option, I was told that it wouldn't work properly anyway because of the different operating systems, and the potential for problems.

  • I still use Aperture 2.1.4.  I need to export an image file with a CMYK profile.  Whereas a generic CMYK profile is listed in ColorSync Utility, it does not appear on the list of profiles in the edit portion of the export preset dialogue.  Help?

I still use Aperture 2.1.4.  I need to export an image file with a CMYK profile.  Whereas a generic CMYK profile is listed in ColorSync Utility, it does not appear on the list of profiles in the edit portion of the export preset dialogue.  Help?  Is there some way to add the CMYK profile to the list of choices that are available in the export preset dialogue such that I can choose it?

    leonieDF
Thanks for your response.  My profiles are located within color sync utility as you can see here:
These profiles do not respond to clicking and dragging.  Since they are all in one place, more or less, I'm reluctant to make further attempts to relocate them.  Accessing the CMYK profile is the first difficult experience I've encountered with this arrangement.  I have never needed the CMYK profile until recently, and that need has now past.  However, it remains a mystery to me as to why it does not appear with all the others on the menu of export choices in Aperture 2, or on the menu of profile assignment choices in the Preview application (where again all the other profiles are listed as choices).  I'm beginning to think my current set up will permit me to view an image that was created in CMYK space, but does not easily assign, or convert to that space.  I don't face these restrictions with all the others, so it remains a curious circumstance for me.  I anticipate upgrading my computer and software in the near future which might alleviate this issue altogether.  Again, many thanks for your attention to this matter.  The reach of this community is astounding.

  • Flash CC crashes every time I try to export an image

I just downloaded the free trial of Flash CC because I wanted to test it out as a drawing program. I just finished an illustration and want to export it as a .JPEG, but every time I try, Flash crashes! I tried creating a new file and just exporting an image of a small circle, and even that caused the program to crash.
I don't want to have wasted a free trial and be unable to use or access these images after the trial runs out, simply because I cannot export them into image files.
Any help would be wonderful, thanks.
(I am using a desktop Mac, if that makes any difference)

Are you on Mac OSX 10.6? Flash Pro CC is not supported on Mac 10.6 and this crash is one of the known issues on Mac 10.6.

  • How to export antialiased images of PDF pages?

    Hello all:
I recently upgraded to Acrobat XI, and I am surprised to see that you STILL cannot export (or Save As) PDF pages to images that are ANTIALIASED!? Does anyone have a simple answer for this that doesn't involve a workflow of more than 5 steps? This is so headslappingly obvious a need that I'm at a loss for what Adobe's engineers are thinking when programming the Save As Image functions...
I posted this question all the way back in 2009 (see post at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2411677#2411677), and still the answer is the same: when Acrobat saves pages as TIF or JPEG files, they are ALIASED. Who would want that? Who?! WHY?
It's simply exasperating that Adobe does not include a tiny, little check box that says "Antialiased" in the "Save As TIF / JPEG Settings" dialog box where you set all kinds of parameters like resolution and colorspace....If the exporting process would just include antialiasing, you could set the resolution you desire and YOU'RE DONE.
But, as far as I can tell, you still have to perform some kind of gymnastic routine like:
Open the PDF and select all the desired page thumbnails to export.
Right-click and choose Extract Pages. Make sure to check "Extract Pages as Separate Files."
Export all the separate PDFs for each desired page into a folder somewhere.
Open Photoshop and start recording an Action.
Open one of the PDFs and specify the desired resolution.
Save it in a desired location in an image file of your choice (TIF/JPEG).
    Stop recording the Action.
Delete the resulting image you made of the test PDF page to avoid an overwriting error later when running the batch (or check box to overwrite in batch dialog).
Run the Action in Batch mode on the entire folder of separate PDF pages.
    This is preposterous.
Adobe, please get the simple things right for everyday low-level users before adding feature bloat to Acrobat with each passing version. Please.

Hi Dave: Good points about reducing feature bloat and installer footprint taking priority for most users...
    However, if, as you say:
Acrobat and Adobe Reader are developed as a standalone product family....
Ultimately, since you can get an AA bitmap of a PDF file by just opening it in Photoshop etc., there is very little commercial demand for Adobe to include that feature in Acrobat.
then, those people who do not have Photoshop (because AA is designed to be standalone, right?) cannot access antialiasing in exporting PDF images at all! Your point is exactly my point.
If there is so little demand, then why include Export to Image functionality at all? Just eliminate it completely to save installer footprint space!....But, then, I'm sure you realize people would complain about that immediately, no? So, again, why include it at all when it's only able to export aliased images which virtually nobody is going to want? That's very passive-aggressive toward's Adobe's users. Nobody really benefits from half-baked features only begrudgingly included in software to placate the vocal minority of users who would otherwise miss it. I realize this isn't a huge issue for most users, but I think this points to a larger mentality within Adobe and the software industry in general....
There is a huge number of people working in corporations that own legacy versions of AA who have not and will not likely subscribe to Creative Cloud! (e.g.: The 100-person architecture/engineering firm I worked at for 10 years had one copy of Photoshop on a community graphics workstation and made everyone use a sign-up sheet to access it.)
Also, it's nice in theory that PDFs are supposed to be a print format. But, many many times, AA users have to make images (for PowerPoint, blogs, client portals etc.) from PDFs that they did not originally create and do not have the source files to recreate or export as images from their originating software. PDF export to images from Acrobat is their only choice without access to Photoshop.
And, if AA is truly designed to be a stand-alone product, untethered from the capabilities of the entire suite of functionality across Creative Cloud apps, then a modular plug-in approach to controlling feature bloat would be more appropriate, no?
For example, AutoCAD is a giant, sprawling application for technical drawing. And AutoDesk has recognized over the years that AutoCAD is used by many industries, each with special needs unneccesary to other industries' user base. So, they've created add-on packs of plug-ins that transform vanilla AutoCAD into AutoCAD for Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bridge Design, Home Building, etc....see where I'm going?
And Adobe has a far larger installed user base for Acrobat than AutoDesk does for AutoCAD! How about plugins like AA for Technical Publishing, AA for 3D modeling, AA for Presentations?...

  • How to hide the file name (the bizarre number assigned by the camera) when exporting an image version in aperture from an album. Pl understand I want to keep the file name in the project library version.

how to hide the file name (the bizarre number assigned by the camera) when exporting an image version in aperture from an album. Pl understand I want to keep the file name in the project library version.

Within Aperture you have Images, which are constructed on-the-fly from two files (the Master and the Version).  You get an image-format file _only_ when you export an Image.  You select the file name (usually a scheme) when you create an image-format file (that is, when you export).  Look under "Aperture→Presets→File Naming" for built-in Presets.  You can, of course, create your own or customize any provided.
The Preset is applied to only the file newly created by your "export" command.  It is not applied to the Image in Aperture (unless you rename your Versions or your Masters).

  • Orgchart export to image: special characters issue

    Hello,
    Using Orgchart Accelerated 2.01.
We have an issue when exporting to image.  The issue happens when org unit name or attributes contains some special characters like é or ë (common in French).  In the jpg export, these characters are being replaced by some square characters.  In the preview and in the application, everything is displaying just fine.
This doesn't happen for ppt export (pdf export still not functionning)
    Thanks,
    Laurent

    HI Laurent,
This is quite unusual. As far as I am aware the OrgChart Accelerated solution only supports English at present. However, you should raise an OSS message via Service Marketplace as I would expect it to export these characters okay.
    Many thanks,
    Luke

  • How to export all images as 4x6?

Okay, one of the things I absolutely love about Aperture is the ability to export many different versions for different purposes. As a wedding photographer, there are many different purposes to export for.
Here's the glitch that I'm running into though. We've now started only giving DVD images to our clients sized as 4 x 6s at 300 dpi. Anything larger, we'd like them to purchase through us to maintain quality.
I've been trying to figure out a way to get Aperture to export the images we've edited out as these 4 x 6 at 300dpi, but for the life of me, I can't seem to get it right. We crop at 8 x 12 so the ratio is fine, but getting it to come out right it a bugger.
I can't tell it to export at 4 x 6 because that only works for portrait and not landscape orientation. I can have a different export for each orientation since I have to maintain numbering consistency with our web galleries and their DVD copy.
I finally ran it out at 50% of original size, but hardly any of the images come out at 300 dpi. Aperture is just not doing everything I assumed it would.
    Any ideas?

Set up an export preset as follows (from memory, so I apologise for any slight wording errors):
Duplicate JPG Original size preset and rename something like 6x4@300
'Size to' 'Fit within Inches' Width 6.0 Height 6.0
    'DPI' 300
    sRGB colourspace
Because all your images area already cropped to the right aspect ratio (3:2), setting size to 'fit within' will make the longest side 6 inches at 300dpi. It doesn't matter whether they are landscape or portrait. I have done it and it works perfectly.
If you have different aspect ratios and want to crop to 3:2 then export automatically, that is more tricky, but I don't think that is what you want.

  • Exported iPhoto images not showing in folder

    Hi,
When I export a group of NEF images from iPhoto 06 Library, as JPG, to a new folder the files do not appear.
If I repeat the export for the other export options the images appear.
I did repeat this exercise and exported the images as JPG onto a USB drive, and was able to see them listed when viewed on another laptop.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I found that if I set the image size for the JPG, then the files are visible.
Does anyone know why the files are hidden when the size is not defined?
    Thanks.

    hi,
all the UI elements in the adobe form are generally connected to your web-dynpro Context.
whatever you type in the online adobe form is reflected in the respective context attributes of the dynpro Context of the view where "ur Interactive form UI element is".
that means you can yourself fill the contents of ur interactive form by working on the get/set methods of the context attributes.
Likewise you can clear the form by setting all context attributes to blank eg ""
<b>interactive form has two imp properties:-</b>
    <b>*dataSource</b>
data source points to the node all whose context attributes will be made available in the interactive form
    <b>*pdfsource</b>
points to the context attribute which will hold the pdf.
note that the type of this pdfSorce attribute will be binary.
    if you still have doubts.
give me your gmail mail id. i 'll send a tutorial.
    with regards,

  • Exporting PNG Image Sequence in Compressor?

    Hi everyone!
Can anyone help? Any Compressor pro's out there?
I can successfully export sequences via Final Cut Pro using Quicktime conversion as .PNG Image Sequences retaining the alpha channel (millions+). However in Compressor the Image Sequence settings seem to ONLY support targa or tiff, IS there a way to export the image sequence using compressor as a alpha channel PNG!
You can export the sequence as a .mov with the png codec.. but I must have it as the image sequence!
    Any ideas anyone?

Sorry, but I have not been able to find an option for exporting image sequences with Alpha channel in Compressor either. I submitted a bug report about this a few months ago.
Why do you need to use Compressor? If it is for deinterlacing or resizing, you could export from FCP using Compressor, and choose to export a QuickTime movie using the Animation codec at 100%. After that, you can export your Animation file to a PNG image sequence using QuickTime Pro.
It is the only workaround I can think of at the moment.
I would recommend submitting a bug report: http://www.apple.com/feedback/compressor.html

  • Export PNG images with alpha channel from flash

    Hi,
I have this FLA with animation and when played, the animation has alpha channel. I can’t understand why when I look in the library I see the frames without the alpha channel and also when I try to export/extract the image again the image don’t have alpha channel.
How is it that in flash this image has alpha channel and how to get it out like that into PNG?
Here is the link to download the FLA:
    http://download759.mediafire.com/nb749r29220g/e0636ab0ru6ouoa/Untitled-1.fla

"when played, the animation has alpha channel"
how are you playing the animation? control/enter in Flash, Publishing to a Web page or what?
How can you tell that the animation has the alpha channel? What exactly are you seeing?
What is the aniimation? a series of images, one image moving? Are teweens imvolved?
" when I try to export/extract the image again the image don’t have alpha channel"
How are you exporting the image? is it a single image? or a series of frames that makes up an animation?
What was the file format of the original image? you brought that image into Flash and animated it? Now you want to export as a .png with transparency?
Have you ever tried to export a  simple .png before so that you see and understand the dialog box that pops up during export? are you chosing "24 bit with alpha channel" in the "Colors" choice?
For those of us who may not want to download your file, please provide a more detailed describtion of everything related to this question.
    Best wishes,

  • Exporting SWF Images in Flash CC

I'm running Flash CC and have been trying to export a swf image file just under 40kb. Swf is the accepted file format for an online ad campaign and I'm struggling finding the best way to combine quality and file size. The image is static. If I could use a png or jpg I would...
Flash keeps exporting files sized at 9kb and they are horrible quality. Any advice on how to change the export settings in Flash to improve the image quality and maximise my 40kb limit would be greatly appreciated.
I tried exporting the image through InDesign and the smallest file size I could get was 130kb with decent quality after exporting as a jpg and re-exporting. Unfortunately lowering the quality of the jpg only helped lower it from 250kb to 130kb... Not quite enough... Suggestions on exporting smaller swf files via InDesign would be greatly appreciated (though I think I have maximised the settings).
I have read tutorials and googled for hours. Any suggestion is welcome at this stage!

edit your image in photoshop and experiment with various settings/size.  there's no magic high quality small file size setting.
it's a trade-off.  the higher the quality and the greater the image dimensions, the greater the file size.  you have to decide where those are acceptable.

    Hi -
If you have Photoshop, open the exported image in Photoshop, and go to Filter > Video > De-interlace.
If you do not have Photoshop, you can apply a De-interlace Filter in FCE to the clip you want to export the still frames from, do your frame exports, and then remove the De-interlace filter.
    In FCE -
    Effects Tab > Video Filters > Video > De-Interlace
    Hope this helps.
