Exporting user objects

HI aal,
I have one question.
I created schema and its object into one tablespace , and then while creating index on tables i choose different tablesapce for storage purpose. Now I have question if we export schema is the index structure will also get exported which was created on different tablespace?

Hello,
if you export a schema with tables then only the DDL Commands of the index definition is exported which also include your tablespace parameter. just for information you can also remap tablespace definition during import (if you have the right database version).

Compare User Objects
After making changes to table definitions, views, program units, and so on, it may be useful to propagate these changes to another database user. This maybe another development environment, or a testing environment. To compare the objects of your development user with another user, you can use the Compare User Objects function in the Tools menu. This will bring up the following dialog:
On the Selection tab page you can select the objects you wish to compare. After making this selection, you can press the Target Session button, to select the user and database that you want to compare. This will enable the Compare button, which you can press to start the compare operation. You can select the Include storage... option to include the storage information such as tablespace names and initial sizes for new objects. These may differ across databases, so this may not always be appropriate.
When the compare operation is finished, the dialog will switch to the Differences tab page, which will show a list of all objects that are different:
This list is sorted in order of dependency. Below the list of different objects of the target user, you see the SQL that needs to be executed to make these objects equal to the corresponding objects of the current user. If no object is selected, the SQL of all objects is displayed. If one or more objects are selected, only the SQL for the selected object(s) is displayed. In the example above, a missing EMP_MGR_EMPNO check constraint was added to the EMP table.
The Show Differences button will show a visual line-by-line difference of the old and new source file of an object. This can be useful to view the changes made in Program Units, or can help you determine why a specific DDL statement was generated for other object types. The Configure External Difference Tool allows you to configure the difference tool should be used. By default the ExamDiff utility will be used, for which a Pro version is available (See the About item of ExamDiff’s Info menu). See also Tools - Differences.
You can now press the Apply SQL button to execute this SQL in the target session. You can alternatively save the SQL in a file by pressing the Save SQL button, or you can copy it to the clipboard by pressing the Copy SQL button.
When objects are compared, the following properties are ignored:
· Storage – Properties such as the next extent and pct free of tables and indexes are not considered relevant for comparison.
· Constraints with system generated names – These constraints will have different names for the 2 users, so they cannot be compared. If a table is new in the target session, these constraints will be generated though.
· Table creation properties – Properties that would require the recreation of the table are ignored.
· Table data – To export table data, use the Export Table function (see Export Tables).
· Sequence values – The current value of a sequence is considered data.
/* END: cut and paste from PLSQL Developer Help */

This is on the list but not for 1.0.

• Searching and matching user objects between 2 forests

I have two forests A (old) and B (new)
I need to compare forest A user objects(~2000) with forest B (~14000) user objects and if they match by any one of the following attributes email, DisplayName or cn ... then, i need to csvde/ldifde the matching objects in a spreadsheet line by line for reporting
purposes.
I know how to manually do it using spreadsheet but i would like to automate/script it for efficiency and accuracy. Any scripting help?
the report should look something like this for all matching objects e.g. email matched in this case, but it could it cn or email also.
domainname dn
cn displayname
email Matched
forestA fin/users
user1 user1 last
n [email protected]
Y
forestB ht/users
user2 user2 last
n [email protected]
Y
thanks
Navgup

Hi Navgup,
Not exactly, however, please refer to the script below, please try to export all the users' information to separate .csv files, and compare this two files with Compare-Object:
get-aduser -filter * -properties * |select displayname, distinguishedname|export-csv d:\oldforest.csv
get-aduser -filter * -properties * |select displayname, distinguishedname|export-csv d:\newforest.csv
$file1 = import-csv -Path "d:\oldforest.csv"
$file2 = import-csv -Path "d:\newforest.csv"
$properties=@("displayname","distinguishedname")
foreach($property in $properties){
Compare-Object $file1 $file2 -property $property -IncludeEqual -PassThru | Where-Object{$_.SideIndicator -eq '=='} | select displayname, distinguishedname
I hope this helps.

• Export list object to XXL

All,
I have a user that we gave a new laptop to and the spreadsheet button in t-code KSB1 will no longer let him export list object to XXL. He is on GUI 7.10 and Office 2003. I have checked the settings for Marcos in Excel and set them to allow all macros along with Visual Basic. What setting am I missing?
Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,
You could also try the following:
1. run TCode SA38
2. run ABAP-Programm SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN
3. mark Detail-Selektion
4. put a client and user
5. run
6. mark a row for the user
7. delete with F7-key (or button)
Then again the choice would have to appear for the XXL Format when exporting to Excel.

• BAPI-VB, Unable to call method GetDetail of USER Object using SAP.BAPI.1

Hi,
I am trying to call SAP Methods using Excel VBA.
In the below example, I am trying to get the user details.
I can solve this, if I use SAP.Functions object, but not when I use SAP.BAPI.1 object.
The Procedure GetUserDetails() works fine, but the 2nd one GetUserDetails2() fails?
Can you tell what is the difference in calling SAP method with SAP.Functions and SAP.BAPI.1 ?
Also how can I run the program GetDetails2() using SAP.BAPI.1

• Exchange 2003 - bulk create smtp contacts from user objects, bulk forward to smtp contacts, bulk turn off forwarding

Exchange 2003 running on Windows server 2003. ~50 Users all in same OU on same domain with primary email address [email protected] objective is to create smtp contacts from each of the user objects imported back into the same domain in
a different OU with mail, targetAddress, proxyAddresses/SMTP on the contacts being [email protected] and the options 'automatically update email addresses based on recipient policy' disabled and hidden from GAL for all. At a later time will require
a method to bulk forward all of the user objects to their corresponding [email protected] contact object and a way to to bulk disable the forwarding at a later time.
ldifde created the contacts via export/import but Exchange seems to like rewriting the mail & proxyaddresses or replacing domain2.com with one of the internal recipient policy domains requiring manual change in AD.
ldifde -f export-01.ldf -s dc1.domain1.com -d "OU=Users,OU=people,DC=domain1,DC=com" -r "(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(givenname=*))" -l "cn,givenName,objectclass,samAccountName,mail,physicalDeliveryOfficeName,displayName,name,description,sn,targetAddress"
ldifde -i -f import-test-01.ldf -s dc1.domain1.com
I'm then using ADModify.net to bulk modify hide from address lists attribute and correct the mail, targetaddress, proxyaddress attributes, possibly forwarding as well. The process is clunky compared to something like powershell on Exchange 2010.
Am I going about this the wrong way?

users will remain on the domain. decommissioning or altering access to the old mailboxes until some point post-migration would be unwanted so there's a fallback method in case anything goes wrong. until testing reveals a better method, the strategy
for Exchange 2003 / Server 2003 environment will remain as is for now using ldifde export of select user object attributes followed by ldifde import of select attributes to contact objects, followed by admodify.net / admodcmd updating of the necessary mail/exchange
attributes via %’mailNickName’% similar to what's described below to forward internal mail to the external host.
Using ADModify to Change Exchange Specific AD User Attributes in Bulk

• Cmsdk 10G - need to export Clas Object/attributes into XML

I am running CMSDK 10g, and need to export Class Object and attributes (metadata) for a document into XML. Specifically the Class Object and attributes that I created. I am thinking I can either use an API to export the Class object and attribute data, or I can go directly into the DB and pull the data from the table into XML.
1) Is there an API available?
2) What user is the owner of the Class Objects and attributes?
3) What table contains the Class Object and attributes names and data?
Thanks,
Bilal

Hi Bilal,
I think the CUP (command line utility) will do the hard job for you.
1. Find the ID of the wanted classobject
(find CLASSOBJECT "name='WHATEVER'" -attrall)
2. Cat the definition with:
cat -id <the id>
You will get the description in xml. You can run the commands as script and with a XSL or CCS you will be able to transform the output into html for your doc.
Hope it helps

• Export Schema Objects

I have Oracle XE in dev machine with objects (tables, sequences, views indexes etc) in a chaluwa schema. We want to test on a mock production machine with Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g (just downloaded it). First how do I use the XE interface (not code like in the link in the previous post) to export these objects.
So far, I used XE's DDL creation utility to generate the code, I tried to run this code on an empty test schema in my dev machine to see if the DDL statements will replicate / reproduce the objects from the chaluwa schema, but I got errors. The DDL statements where not arranged in sequence, a foreign key field been created in a table was referencing a table not yet created. I wouldn't want to start tampering with the DDL code to rearrange it. In XE, I could make a schema by creating a new user, I 'v not been able (at least so far) to do this (create a schema) on the mock production machine running Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g.
so the issues are :
1. need to export the objects from chaluwa schema in the Oracle XE in my dev machine.
2. create a schema on the mock production machine running Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g where I will put the exported objects from step 1.
3. put the objects into the schema created in step two.
Sorry if my questions were stupid, I really need your help. Cheers

Hi,
I have two XE at different machines, one in my office PC(production), and another at my laptop(dev), I use a lot of the datapump utility at XE, and it is great.
And it is very simple to use, and it does have much more options of usage than my simple one, but my one works
In case I would like to export all my data at machine1 to machine 2(and the schema name is chaluwa
1. on machine1
I create a directory by the OS at my machine1, like 'c:\chaluwa_080914'
then I go to the sql command line(sql plus),
sqlplus / as sysdbasql> create or replace directory anyname as 'c:\chaluwa_080914';
sql> directory created.
sql> grant read, write on directory chaluwa_080914 to chaluwa;
sql> grant successed
sql> exit;
--- now you are back to the windows command line again
c:\Document and Settings\peteryzhang> expdp system schemas=chaluwa directory=chaluwa_080914
password: ******
and then they will export all stuffs to the export file, the default name will be export and a log file.
copy the directory(with its data exported) chaluwa to machine2;
2. import the file you just exported to another database
at the machine 2 , copy the chaluwa_080914 to a place, like 'd:\chaluwa_080914'
and then go the sqlplus
connect as sysdba
sql>create user chaluwa identified by password default tablespace USERS(note: better the use the same tablespace as from machine 1).
sql> user created.
sql> grant connect, resource, dba to chaluwa ( that is what I usually use, maybe you not need the dba role, but you need some more proviliges for successfully import the export file, like, it depends, but, let's say, if you don't any right to create triggers, you cannot import triggers to it, it will fail)
sql> success
sql> create or replace directory chaluwa_080914 as 'd:\chaluwa_080914';
sql> directory created.
sql> grant read, write on directory chaluwa_080914 to chaluwa;
sql> success;
sql> exit;
c:\document and settings\hostname>: impdp system schemas=chaluwa directory=chaluwa_080914
and then the password.
and at that, you will be successfully import the schema, and there's only one error, the user is already created, but it is Ok, fine.
if you want to import the file into a different schema, you can do that, and if you need to import the file into a different tablespace, you can do that, there's some options,
you can reference the doc at the*Xe two day DBA guide* and oracle database utilities:

• Is Active Directory's ExtensionAttributes9 a field in user object and how to retrieve it in the class type userprincipal?

Hi, I'm using VS2012.
I want to use this ExtensionAttributes9 field to store date value for each user object. I use UserPrincipal class, a collection of these objects are then bind to a gridview control. Is ExtensionAttributes9 a field in AD user object?
How can I access it and bind to the gridview?
If this field isn't available then what other field can use?
Thank you.
Thank you

UserPrincipal is basically a wrapper around DirectoryEntry:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.directoryservices.directoryentry.aspx and only provides a subset of the Active Directory, although the most common, attributes that are available for the user object. The attribute that you
seek is not one of them.
By utilizing the method that I provided you a link to, it will return the underlying DirectoryEntry that was used to build the UserPrincipal object and should allow you to access the attribute that you seek.
It would be greatly appreciated if you would mark any helpful entries as helpful and if the entry answers your question, please mark it with the Answer link.

• SQL Developer and Blocking View of Other Users' Objects

I am using SQL Developer in a classroom environment. My student users can “see” Other Users objects. They cannot modify, but none the less can see the structure and data.
I only want the users to be able to see their own objects. Is there a privilege that needs to be revoked? (In using SQL Plus command line, this was not a problem.)
Thanks.
-Karen

Karen,
From sysdba account (sys/system). Run following and verify for that particular user grant is revoked. May be exit from sql developer and log back in or refresh view.
YOu can also potenially revoke all the privs from all non admin uses i.e.r even connect/resource roles and grant them back.
revoke select any table from yourschemaname;
revoke connect from schemaname;
revoke create session from  schemaname;
revoke resource from schemaname;
Then just grant privs as need basis
grant connect to schemanme;
grant resource to schemaname;
grant create session to schemaname;
..Regards

• How do I get the value of a resource property stored in the user object?

I need a way to get to the myflag property on the resources in an object
I have been trying to get to it by first getting the user object...
but how can I get to the properties them self?
If the following is the user object and I need to refer to the different myflag properties in a form?
What I want to do is to make the system NOT change password on accounts where the myflag is set to true
Anyone that could point me right here?
I use the following code to get the userObj in the form...
<Field name='userObj'>
<Derivation>
<invoke name='getObject'>
<ref>:display.session</ref>
<s>User</s>
<ref>resourceAccounts.id</ref>
</invoke>
</Derivation>
<Disable>
<isnull>
<ref>resourceAccounts.id</ref>
</isnull>
</Disable>
</Field>And the resulting userObj looks like this
<!--  MemberObjectGroups="#ID#Top" hasCapabilities="true" id="#ID#BAF7-:882E9B73531:87D587F7-:726EA99B2E0A89CD" name="43725"-->

I was missing the default namespace of "http://sapportals.com/xmlns/cm" - I thought I could just pass an empty string for the namespace, but it looks like I must always specifiy, even if it is default.

• Can I export solid objects into Illustrator / InDesign CS2 and maintain vector format

Can Adobe 3D export solid objects in vector format into Illustrator or InDesign CS2 suite?
I'm interested in taking solid 3D objects developed in Pro/E 2.0 and import from Adobe 3D into Adobe Illustrator & InDesign in vector format for page layout. I want to import solid objects in vector format and maintain color scheme and surface textures.
I'm running 3D trial version and can successfully import 3D objects (asm & prt files) solid views from Pro/E but can only export wireframe views from Adobe 3D Toolkit into Illustrator or InDesign (CS2). Solid objects first have to get rendered in a raster format before importing into Illustrator.
If this function is not supported does anyone have experience doing this using Quadraspace or Right Hemisphere 3D software?

Any help???? After 2 weeks I still can't learn from Adobe or Right Hemisphere people how to import solid objects in vector format into Illustrator with color and surface textures in place. All imported objects in vector format are converted to a wireframe or line format unless they are first rasterized.

• Any clues on how to create a resource object to push a user object into res

I am working on a situation where I have to push a user object via a resource object and not having assigned to the user (in other words not linked to the user).
any ideas?
My approach is some thing like this
IN the "user" object I do set all the attributes required per the resource definition
Here is the code snippet for resource object creation:
<Action name='create services resource object' process='Provision'>
<Argument name='op' value='createResourceObject'/>
<Argument name='object' value='$(user)'/>
<Argument name='objectType' value='user'/>
<Argument name='resourceId' value='UnixUIDServices'/>
</Action>

I by no means want to sound belittling... so don't take me that way..
You need to understand the basics of files, and networks. You can't check if a file exists on another machine if you don't have a network protocol to communicate with. The reason \\ works under windows is because you are using an invisible (to you) network protocol. You probably know it as windows sharing. If your file were not shared under it's own name, that method wouldn't work (I'm assuming your entire drive is shared without a password... a horrible security flaw...but one thing at a time)
You can use FTP protocol to check if a file exists. You can either send the raw text FTP commands through a socket connection in java, or you can use a freely available FTP java API to make it a bit more simple. You could also write a small java server on the other machine, and have it tell you what you need to know with a socket connection. In this way, you have created your very own network protocol.
