Exporting using JAR tool
Hi,
I've created a Java Project in Eclipse, wich makes use of several external classes in the classpath. When viewing in the applet viewer, it works without trouble.
But now I want to export it and test it from (a simple) html site. It gives a "ClassNotFoundException" by every included class, probably because the classpath is not included when exporting from eclipse.
So I thought, no problem. I'll export it using the jar command in java. This is the command I use (when having the DOS cursor in the folder where the .class files and packages are stored) :
jar cfm my_unsigned.jar manifest.txt applet downloadManager extra uploadManager
<html>
<head><title>Videobank</title></head>
<body>
<applet archive="my_signed.jar" width="300" height="200" code="applet.Uploader.class">
</applet>
</body>
</html>manifest.txt is off couse my manifest, applet downloadManager extra and uploadManager are the folders where the classes are in. "Jar"-ing and signing (after I jarred the files, i sign them, and call the signed file my_signed.jar) doesn't give any troubles, but when I try to run this one, it al ready gives a "ClassNotFoundException" because the Uploader class is not found (the one I'm trying to open using the applet tag.)
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Post the content of the manifest file AND the whole error message please.
Take a look at the Java tutorial jar lesson here and especially the entry point setting here .

Hide classes while using jar tool.
I have a set of API classes which I need to ship using jar.
But even if I use jar utility to archive the classes, one can easily extract and decompile the classes.
Is there any way this can be avoided?
RegardsNot really. You can use an obfuscator to make the code harder to decompile in a way that's easy to read. I'm told some obfuscators can generate class file code that breaks decompilers, but the code could still be disassembled or the next version of decompilers will be able to defeat it.
By the way, this is an issue with any language. -
CTS+ - How to hide "export using Filesystem" from PI tool?
Hi experts,
I have already implemented "How To Configure Enhanced CTS PI 7.1", now I wonder If it is possible to hide export using Filesystem since I would like to force people using "Export using CTS" from PI tools.
I have alredy surfing on internet without luck : (
Could you pleas help with this?
Thanks in advance.Hello Emili
The Exchange Profile parameters below control whether the "Transport Using File System" option is visible in the transport wizard. If you set the parameters to "false" (without the " and all in lower case) then this transport option will no longer be visible.
1) com.sap.aii.ibrep.core.transport.enableFileExport
2) com.sap.aii.ibdir.core.transport.enableFileExport
If these parameters do not already exist in the Exchange Profile, you can create them and set the value to false.

Hi,
I have also used Web Alchemy, but have never come across a

While exporting to .jar I found something...
So yesterday I was messing around trying to export to .jar... I was successful, but when I exported I accidentally exported to .java... And then I noticed that I can export to really any extension... like example.dat... So I did that... Now my question is how can I decompile the code that I exported to 'example.dat'?
Thanks a bunchJar archives traditionally use a ".jar" extension (and so you should use that extension when you export the file). But in a lot of situations the extensions does not really matter. You can use any legal filename when creating/listing/expanding the archive. You can also use an archive of any name as part of your classpath.

Using Text Tool Freezes Photoshop CC 2014.2 x64 release
I have just updated Photoshop CC to 2014.2.0 -- 20140926.r.236 x64 release. Now I am experiencing an issue when I use the text tool to just type a few words on a new document or layer. The application seems to freeze up as soon as I start typing? I wait several minutes with nothing happening and have to resort to using the Windows task manger to kill the photoshop processes. This did not happen before I updated to this release?? Please advise how to fix this if possible to [email protected].
I'm using Windows 7 x64

Does the Jar Tool work on Windows XP Pro?
Hi, I have a Windows XP Pro machine and I installed jdk1.3. But I can't seem to get the jar tool to work. The directory bin has all java compiler, jar tool, javadoc, and other tools. When I go to the command prompt to try to use the jar tool, it just says "the name is not specificed as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file. Does anyone know why I can't run the jar tool in MS-DOS?
Hi, yeah autoexec.bat is not used anymore. XP has to set the environment variable in system properties just like Windows 2000. Is something in the classpath variable I have to set to use the jar tool?
Currently my classpath has:
.;c:\jdk1.3\corejava
It's just the current directory and the corejava library from my book. Do I have to add c:\jdk1.3\bin to it? Since javac, jar.exe are located in that folder or am I wrong?
Thanks for your help. -

when i open my project it will ask to convert crystal reports and i have converted ...reports are working fine but in tool bar if i click and select a pdf format to export it will display a error message Failed to export using the options you specified. Please check your options and try again. and if i click on print button it is not working(i have set printmode=pdf)...when i was working on vs2008 both were working fine but in vs2010 it is not working..Hello,
What type of app you are using? A win app will not have this option. Also what FW are you using? Have you made changes to the viewer(after migrating) and ensure that you are using the 13.0.2000.0?
Take a look at [this|Export and print problem; thread, also.
Thanks. -
I was able to use .jar files in Java programs that I write on my computer. I could write a program that used an import statement to bring in classes contained in a .jar file.
One day, I was trying to incorporate a jar file folder directly into my windows operating system by using the environmental variable called CLASSPATH. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of screwing up my PATH variable. I fixed my PATH variable back up by adding the directory to the bin folder inside of the Java folder as is described commonly by the documentation for installing the Java SE on windows computer.
Since that day, I have not been able to use .jar files using an import statement. My computer is unable to find the .jar files even if I specify the exact directory. Even the IDE(netbeans) that I use is unable to find and use .jar files. I have found that I can open up .jar files and pull the contents that I need out of said .jar files, but I have a project that does not allow me to open up the .jar files and extract the needed classes.
I have googled this problem so much that I have read hundreds of posts about .jar files, and I cant find anyone in a situation that is similar to mine. If I take my files to another computer with Java SE installed, then my source code can access the .jar files just fine. For some reason, my work computer seems to hate using .jar files. I have no idea what could be the problem. There is no information in the java documentation on troubleshooting with this problem, and the most confusing part is that it worked perfectly fine until That one day
Does anyone have any ideas?
Specific technical details:
I need to pull the Stopwatch.class file from a stdlib.jar file. In the past I had done this by using an import statement inside of my program:
"import stdlib.Stopwatch; "
Using this command to compile:
"javac -cp .;(directory path to .jar file); source.java"
This used to work. Now when using the javac command I get error messages
1. Error points directly to import statement. Arrow directed at the period after stdlib.
"cannot find symbol"
2. Error message pointing to all instances of the class that I was attempting to import into my program.

Edited by: 955611 on Aug 28, 2012 7:22 PMI read your post. I want to compile this project by using the "-classpath" option in the javac command. After screwing up important system variables once, I do not want to continually have to play with system variable in order to compile projects. To quote from the website that you linked:
Using the JDK tools' -classpath option
The JDK tools java, jdb, javac, and javah have a -classpath option which replaces the path or paths specified by the CLASSPATH environment variable while the tool runs. This is the recommended option for changing class path settings, because each application can have the class path it needs without interfering with any other application.
The runtime tool java has a -cp option, as well. This option is an abbreviation for -classpath.
For very special cases, both java and javac have options that let you change the path they use to find their own class libraries. The vast majority of users will never to need to use those options, however.
Clearly, the "-classpath" option in the javac is intended to replace the need to play with important system variables. I guess my post boils down to the question of "Why doesn't this command work for me?". I followed your suggestion by removing the bin directories and adding the stdlib.jar directory directly into the system variable itself. Here is the following output from my command prompt:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
C:\Documents and Settings\Lelo>E:
E:\>cd Programs\Java
E:\Programs\Java>javac testy.java
testy.java:1: error: package stdlib does not exist
import stdlib.Stopwatch;
^
1 error
E:\Programs\Java>echo %CLASSPATH%
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext\QTJava.zip;E:\Programs\Java\stdlib.jar;
E:\Programs\Java>javac -classpath .;E:\Programs\Java\stdlib.jar; testy.java
testy.java:1: error: package stdlib does not exist
import stdlib.Stopwatch;
^
1 error
E:\Programs\Java>
I still received the same errors. It seems that even adding the directories into the system variable will not work for me. -

Sorry mate, but YOU have to know what you want here.
I gave you an easy to follow set of steps.
As you don't seam to mind the outcome, just might just use them...
> I wanted to know weathe i can use the loadercli for thie export import or not? if yes then is there any new steps to do before i do the export import?
We had this discussion before...

> For that the easiest option would be just to drop the tables of SAPR3 and run the import again.

> - create user SAPR3 password SOMEPW not exclusive dba

> So here in th above given steps , i am creating a new SAPR3 user and why it is not exclusive dba ?
> i already have that user SAPR3 can i use the same.
Yes, you do have the SAPR3 user.
But you don't seem to like to read documentation or learn about how the tools work or anything like that.
Therefore I gave you s simple way to reach your goal.
Of course it's possible to reuse the user.
But then you would have to deal with already existing tables, already existing data etc.
You don't seem to be able to do that. So, the easy steps might be better suited for your needs.

Please update if anyone has faced same issuePlease check the ant home properly.
do echo on ant_home. If this is not helping you.
Please follow the steps below.
Steps to deploy AIA Components:
1. Navigate to the following location in the server.
D:\product\10.1.3.1\AIA\util\DeployTool>
2. Set env variable to AIA_HOME, ORACLE_HOME and ANT_HOME folder
set AIA_HOME=D:\product\10.1.3.1\AIA\
set ORACLE_HOME=D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\
3. Make sure your process folder and it's artifacts are NOT read-only
4. Copy the bpel projects and Esb project to the following locations.
D:\product\10.1.3.1\AIA\util\DeployTool\BpelCopy
D:\product\10.1.3.1\AIA\util\DeployTool\EsbCopy
5. open and edit \Tokenizer\build.properties in a text editor and populate the below values
aia.home= Path of the folder which contains BPEL and ESB processes that has to be tokenized.
Make sure that above Path contains Forward slash.(/)
If you are planning to deploy only one of the BPEL or ESB processes then leave the other path as blank.
DONT NOT MODIFY ANY OTHER PARAMETERS IN THIS FILE.
aia.home=D:/product/10.1.3.1/AIA/util/DeployTool/BpelCopy/
6. Go to command prompt and change the current directory to \Tokenizer
7. For BPEL processes execute the command ">ant runbpel" and for ESB processes execute the command ">ant runesb"
$ ant runesb -DTokenizerPropsFilePath=D:/product/AIA_HOME/util/DeployTool/Tokenizer.properties
$ ant runbpel -DTokenizerPropsFilePath=D:/product/AIA_HOME/util/DeployTool/Tokenizer.properties
Note: you can run with the AIA_HOME in the command doesn't matter.
8. Goto $AIA_HOME/bin and source the AIA environment file - aiaenv.sh.
This will source all the environment variables.
9. Then run "ant" to deploy the process from the bpel project folder as below.
D:\product\10.1.3.1\AIA\bin>aiaenv.bat
10. D:\product\10.1.3.1\AIA\util\DeployTool\BpelCopy\XXX_CustomerSyncUEKProvAdapterServiceBPEL_V1>ant
Note: If you want to deploy to the different domain. Please change the domain name in the build.properties for the bpel process.
Thanks,

Exporting using Quicktime - but file never appears??
Ever since I downloaded the latest iMovie '11 software update (9.0.7), every time I try to export using Quicktime, it takes two hours to export, shows no error messages of any kind, but the exported film NEVER shows up where I saved it to (or anywhere else on my computer). Has anyone else had this problem?
I can't export using any of the other options because the film is so large (the Quicktime export compresses it enough to upload to Vimeo, while exporting it straight to Vimeo does not). The Quicktime export (and all the settings still in place) worked perfectly before I installed the 9.0.7 update.
I need to get this film off my computer pronto. Please help???Hi Mike:
Apologies for the long delay in response; have been working on other things of course.
I don't know how to use OS X's postscripting feature, but I did try and succeeded in creating a .ps file. When I try to open the file, however, it tells me there is a postscript conversion error and the file cannot be converted to pdf.
Manually distilling the file is exactly where the problem arises.
For giggles, I tried to select the OS X's pdf'ing feature instead of postscript or distilling, and it worked instantly! The dimensions are correct when I open it up, and the file size is large enough to indicate to me that the resolution is likely sufficiently high. I would not know for sure of course until finding out the hard way after sending it to the printers, but it seems to be a use-able file.
So, it seems that this is a pseudo-solution, at least so that I have a tool to bypass the problem when I next encounter it; however, I wonder if you have any ideas about how to actually fix the glitch? Does it have to do with the sorts of images that reside in the KeyNote file; if so, which file types does pdf not like and should be avoided?
Thanks,

Jar tool and distributing with jre
I want to be able to use the jar tool in software I'm supplying. I don't want my clients to have to install a java sdk just to use this - the jre is as much as I can ask them to install.
Firstly, is it technically possible to supply the jar.exe file to work with just the jre, or are there too many dependancies on sdk components?
Secondly, would I be violating Suns agreement by doing this?
thanks.
SteveDo you want your clients to actually use the JAR tool themselves, or is your software just calling the JAR tool to run it?
You can do everything that the JAR tool does from a Java program with the classes in the package java.util.jar, so it's quite easy to write a Java program that handles JAR files, without needing jar.exe.
If you want to know if you're violating Sun's license agreements....: you'll have to read those license agreements very carefully. -
EXPORT DDL from TOOLS menu in Rel 4
I am trying to use the tools->export-> objects--> tables option to extract DDL from tables
I have given the file name to save in options. After clicking APPLY nothing is happening.
