Expose navigation

It seems it is no longer possible to cycle through exposed windows using keyboard shortcuts (other than arrow keys which are way out of the way from home row, so if you will reach for arrow keys you might as well go all the way to the mouse).
In Leopard, once you exposed all the visible windows you could use TAB to cycle through them and quickly get to the window you wanted.
In Snow Leopard, TAB key is used to expose windows of applications, and in fact it cycles through applications (highlighting each in the dock and showing its open windows only). CMD+` cycles through application in reverse order.
But, it appears there is no way to cycle through all exposed windows using keyboard shortcuts (other than arrow keys) in Snow Leopard?

Unfortunately, it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. As a matter of fact they don't even go into half the stuff.
For example, you can use CMD+Tab to navigate to application you want, and then press either up or down arrow to expose its windows.
Or, space trick to "quick look" an exposed window.
But still, it looks like there is no way to cycle through all exposed windows with a keyboard shortcut (arrow keys besides being out of the way also don't actually cycle. They get to the last window in order and then you have to use opposite arrow to go back).

    Dear Experts
    I need to provide a logoff iview in Top Level Navigation.
    I have created a pdk  application for this. It is providing the basic functionality of logoff, but after logoff it is redirecting to the default portal logon page instead of my custosed logon page.
    Code of LogOff services.
    IAuthentication Authen = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();

    Authen.forceLogoffUser(req, res,"http://ssvepd00:50000/irj/portal/anonymous/LogOnPage?guest_user=JTCGuest");
    Could you please suggest me where I am missing? Is it anything to do with ume.logoff.redirect.silent property?

    Hi! I guess it's nice to get called upon by name. :-)
    As user878 mentions, the problem trying to execute tmloadcf is related to the fact that the associated IPC resources are already considered active by Tuxedo, i.e., you did a tmboot with a given TUXCONFIG and that Tuxedo environment is still running.
    Specifically to answer your questions:
    1)can my application placed in any folder other and execute compile tmloadcf from there?Where the files reside is almost immaterial. What is key is what the environment variable TUXCONFIG points to. That file defines a Tuxedo environment and is created with the tmloadcf command. Once the application is booted, you can't use tmloadcf to change the configuration. You either need to use the tmconfig command or shutdown the environment and then issue the tmloadcf command and then reboot the environment.
    2)How to test my service using command prompt.Tuxedo only provides a generic command line client for Tuxedo services that use FML or FML32 buffers. The commands are ud and ud32. For Tuxedo services that use other buffer types, you will have to develop a specific client.
    I have also updated the Jrepository .The Jolt repository is only needed if you are using Jolt, the Java client API to Tuxedo services.

  • How do I exposed to a UI Automation Client that an offset in my RichText editor contains a link?

    How do I exposed to a UI Automation Client that an offset in my RichText editor contains a link?
    I have a custom RichText editor in a C# WPF application.
    What interface would expose such information? ITextRange? ITextRangeProvider?
    When using a screen reader, I noticed when using WordPad if I up or down arrow to a line of text that contains "The search engine
    www.bing.com" I will hear "The search engine link
    www.bing.com."  Notice the word "link" was added.
    I would like to implement the same behavior in my custom RichText editor when navigating up and down by line.
    When I right arrow through the text in WordPad, the screen reader does NOT speak "link" when the caret reaches the first "w" in "www.bing.com".
    I would like to implement the speaking of "link" when the caret reaches the first character in the URL.
    I assume the UIA client would call ITextRangeProvider.Move with TextUnit.Character when the user navigates with the left or right arrow keys.
    Then through some other UI Automation means, the screen reader could determine there is a link at the TextRange.  How is this done?
    I see the client can call ITextProvider.RangeFromChild which "Retrieves a text range enclosing a child element such as an image, hyperlink, or other embedded object."  Does the UIA client then iterate through the range and find the link? If
    so, is there an example on how to do so?

  • Hiding Navigation Pane in Adobe Acrobat/Reader 8.x

    Is there some way to hide the navigation pane programmatically ? I know that you can set this as a PDF document property, but that doesn't do me any good. Why is there a way to hide the tool bar and a way to tell the PDF to be viewed without bookmarks and thumbnails, but no way to hide the navigation pane?

    Leonard,
    I've developed APIs before on various products I have worked on over the past 27+ years in software development. When I built those APIs I tried to expose a consistent set of functionality out of the gate, that I thought would benefit folks who were trying to leverage our APIs. Being able to show/hide various UI components, at a minimum, is a big win. Why some components have this functionality exposed and others done, seems puzzling to me. And omission, really. There are 10 posts in this thread and I have seen others in this forum asking the same exact question. Are API requests derived from this forum? I kind of assumed that since you worked for Adobe, one of the tasks that a forum monitor/forum moderator does is pass useful customer feedback onto the development group. If this is not the case and I need to "formally" request this somewhere else, please let me know where such a mechanism exists.
    What are the chances that "requests" get implemented? I needed this functionality yesterday, not a release or two from now.

  • Spry Navigation 2.0 - Spacing for div for nav bar

    Hello:
    I am once again working on an navigation bar that renders somewhat differently in various browsers (problems with IE 8 & 6).  The navigation is to fit into a div that is bordered by a gold coloured border top and bottom (top border is attached to the header).  The problem is one of calculating the appropriate height based on the settings for the custom nav css file.  I have taken the font size, padding (top and bottom) and border (top and bottom) together with padding on the overall container of the nav bar.  Accordingly I have set the height of the navigation container div at 41px.  In most browsers this works fine, however there are some glitches that cause excess white space to appear either above the navigation bar or below it, thus separating the border from the navigation bar.
    The url for the site is http://socls.org/PCLC-testing/CorePages.html
    I have included the css for the custom nav settings, and the css relating to the navigation in the general css file as well as a screen shot of IE 8.
    Thanks for any help in advance.
    Steve.
    The custom nav css is as follows:
    @charset "UTF-8";
    /* CSS Document */
    /* BeginOAWidget_Instance_2141544: #MenuBar */
    /* Settable values for skinning a Basic menu via presets. If presets are not sufficient, most skinning should be done in
        these rules, with the exception of the images used for down or right pointing arrows, which are in the file SpryMenuBasic.css
         These assume the following widget classes for menu layout (set in a preset)
        .MenuBar - Applies to all menubars - default is horizontal bar, all submenus are vertical - 2nd level subs and beyond are pull-right.
        .MenuBarVertical - vertical main bar; all submenus are pull-right.
        You can also pass in extra classnames to set your desired top level menu bar layout. Normally, these are set by using a preset.
        They only apply to horizontal menu bars:
            MenuBarLeftShrink - The menu bar will be horizontally 'shrinkwrapped' to be just large enough to hold its items, and left aligned
            MenuBarRightShrink - Just like MenuBarLeftShrink, but right aligned
            MenuBarFixedLeft - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedLeft', and left aligned.
            MenuBarFixedCentered -  - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedCentered',
                            and centered in its parent container.
            MenuBarFullwidth - Grows to fill its parent container width.
        In general, all rules specified in this file are prefixed by #MenuBar so they only apply to instances of the widget inserted along
        with the rules. This permits use of multiple MenuBarBasic widgets on the same page with different layouts. Because of IE6 limitations,
        there are a few rules where this was not possible. Those rules are so noted in comments.

    /* IE6 rules - you can delete these if you do not want to support IE6 */
    /* A note about multiple classes in IE6.
    * Some of the rules above use multiple class names on an element for selection, such as "hover" (MenuItemHover) and "has a subMenu" (MenuItemWithSubMenu),
    * giving the selector '.MenuItemWithSubMenu.MenuItemHover'.
    * Unfortunately IE6 does not support using mutiple classnames in a selector for an element. For a selector such as '.foo.bar.baz', IE6 ignores
    * all but the final classname (here, '.baz'), and sets the specificity accordingly, counting just one of those classs as significant. To get around this
    * problem, we use the plugin in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js to generate compound classnames for IE6, such as 'MenuItemWithSubMenuHover'.
    * Since there are a lot of these needed, the plugin does not generate the extra classes for modern browsers, and we use the CSS2 style mutltiple class
    * syntax for that. Since IE6 both applies rules where
    * it should not, and gets the specificity wrong too, we have to order rules carefully, so the rule misapplied in IE6 can be overridden.
    * So, we put the multiple class rule first. IE6 will mistakenly apply this rule.  We follow this with the single-class rule that it would
    * mistakenly override, making sure the  misinterpreted IE6 specificity is the same as the single-class selector, so the latter wins.
    * We then create a copy of the multiple class rule, adding a '.SpryIsIE6' class as context, and making sure the specificity for
    * the selector is high enough to beat the single-class rule in the "both classes match" case. We place the IE6 rule at the end of the
    * css style block to make it easy to delete if you want to drop IE6 support.
    * If you decide you do not need IE6 support, you can get rid of these, as well as the inclusion of the SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js script.
    * The 'SpryIsIE6' class is placed on the HTML element by  the script in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js if the browser is Internet Explorer 6. This avoids the necessity of IE conditional comments for these rules.

    Hello Again:
    Based on some recalculations I realized that with a font size of 17px, 6px padding (top and bottom = 12px) and 3 px border (top and bottom =6) that the height of the nav container should be 35px;  I have change the general style sheet to reflect that change, but still have rendering problems accross browsers.
    To perhaps add clarity, the following is a screen shot of how it appears in most browsers, and how I intended it should look.
    Thanks (again) in advance for any help that can be offered.  Steve.

  • Af:table range navigation and select  with rownum

    I'm trying to use af:table to display some data (long list), but the value attribute always returns the entire list. (Basic example)
    I'd like to use the range navigation so the application only select a sublist from the database (using rownum between x and y) and also display the navigation pane with all the pages, but I was only able to get the specific page with no navigation pane.
    Does anyone have a good example on how to use the range navigation with selects/rownum?

    Assuming I have an untitled1.jspx page with an Untitled1.java backing bean and an <af:table> on my page whose whose binding attribute is set to the EL expression #{Untitled1.table} to expose the table UI component in the backing bean, and a rangeChangeListener set to the EL expression #{Untitled1.onRangeChanged}, then with the following backing bean class, I seem to have been able to disable the user's picking the "Show all" option. ICM Host Name: <host_name>:<host_port>
    ICM Protocol: http
    ICM URL Prefix: /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
    Is there any recommendation on how to set up the Web AS or any idea of how to overcome this issue?
    Thank
    you in advance,
    Michael

    Let me explain the usage of reverse proxy, web dispatcher needs to be setup as reverse proxy if you choose gateway to be setup in different system. With HCM Renewal 1.0, we introduced HTML5 landing pages. We call it the lanes landing pages. The lanes landing pages has two facets two it - the User Interface (UI) - the Data The UI requires the UI5 add-on. This is something which you have already installed. The data for the UI is served up from the Backend system as a OData service via the Gateway system. The landing page needs a reverse proxy to direct the browser requests to either the back-end system where the JavaScript sources are stored, o or to the SAP Gateway system where the OData services are located " Like any Web Application, the HTML5 artifacts (html, js, css) are loaded on to your browser the very first time the landing page application is launched. For this, the browser makes a http requests to the backend system where the artifacts are stored. Once the artifacts are loaded, subsequent calls will be to fetch data from the HCM backend. HCM backend data is exposed as OData services via the Gateway. NW Gateway provides the infrastructure required to convert HCM (ERP in general) data to application/device friendly OData services.Hence Gateway is an intergral part of the whole product. In short: The Reverse proxy talks to the backend HCM system once in a session to load the html5 artifacts. But it communicates with the gateway system whenever data is requested.

  • How to add range navigation to an ADF table ?

    Greetings,
    I have the following code:
    <af:table var="messageObject" rowBandingInterval="0" id="t1"
    value="#{chatForm.chatRoom.messages}" rendered="#{chatForm.chatRoom.messagesSize > 0}"
    summary="message table" rows="5" first="#{chatForm.first}"
    contentDelivery="immediate" autoHeightRows="5">
    I expect that once that the number of rows in the table is greater than 5 then the range navigation controls be displayed. But this doesn't happen, the table gets simply truncated displaying the last 5 rows and the other ones aren't available. What I'm doing wrong ?
    Many thanks in advance for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Nicolas

    Timo, here is what the documentation says:
    "Range Navigation
    When the list being displayed by a Table is huge, you can enable the Table to break up the list into ranges and display a single range at a time. Range controls are provided on the Table to let the user scroll to the next range, or to go back to the previous range. If the total size of the list is known, a control to let the user jump directly to a particular part of the list is also provided on the Table. Use the Table attributes "rows" and "first" to control the range navigation feature. When the user changes the range, the T able fires a RangeChangeEvent . "
    So, it apears that, as a matter of fact, there are next and prev buttons when the list is larger than that the table. Additionally, there is no any scrollbar slider as soon as the list gets bigger than the table. Last but not least, the JDeveloper's Component Palette doesn't expose any othe table type than ADF Faces one. If by "use Trinidad tables" you mean "use manually Trinidad tables", well, I'm afraid that thhis is not acceptable for a Java IDE aiming to replace NetBeans and Eclipse.
    But thank you, anyway, for your reply.

  • Object Map Link in Navigation Page

    I am playing with Navigation Pages in R2. When I create a new page group Portal automantically creates two sample navigation pages: "Sample Banner 1" and "Sample Vertical Navbar". On the "Sample Vertical Navbar" there is an item called "Page Group Map" which has a type of "Object Map Link".
    I've tried to create my own custom navigation Page and would like to include this item. However, "Object Map Link" does not appear in any of the "add item" choices. Am I looking in the wrong place?

    Hi Robert,
    You may need to expose the Object Map Link item type in your page group first. Edit the page group properties, go to the Configure tab, click Edit in the Content Type and Classification section, then make sure that Object Map Link is included in the Visible Item Types list.

  • Best Practice with Browser navigation buttons

    My Web Ap does a secured login and then the user is
    guided to various pages via Command buttons and links.
    The question I have is if the user presses the browser buttons to
    go back the various prior screens appear with waht the user
    entered. I do ot want this.
    What is the best practice to stop this functionality and or capture a event
    that f the user does this the screens are cleared?

    (I believe all Faces page navigation is done via POST (command{Button,Link}).)
    In our app (pre-Faces, but now we're moving to Faces, and I just can't tell you how much fun it is grafting Faces onto an old JSP/servlet app), we chose to open a new window when the user logs in, without browser decorations (i.e., navigation buttons). (This is done via javascript window.open(), with the appropriate options.)
    The old window can't be closed due to Javascript security constraints, so we redirect it to another page so the user won't be confused if he or she stumbles across what looks like a login page (by exposing that old window).
    After that, it's mostly an effort in user education: we just don't tell them about things like alt-left-arrow to go back or F5 to refresh or right-click anything (except View Source when we're debugging a problem). If they're "smart", we tell them "Don't do that", where "that" is either "stick your finger in your eye" or "use alt-left-arrow", depending on your sense of humor and ability to parse my idiomatic English.
    [There's an old joke in which a man goes to a doctor and says "Doctor, my eye hurts".  The doctor says "Hmm, can you tell me more?"  The patient says "Yes, it hurts when I do [i]this," and proceeds to jab his finger into his eye. The doctor says, "Ah, I see. Well, don't that any more," and the patient walks away satisfied with his "cure."]

  • Exposing a Form-Driven Web Application within a Portlet

    Hi All,
    I'm having a bit of a problem exposing a form-driven Web-Application within a portlet window.
    The web-application I'm working with utilizes the Oracle XSQL servlet and is basically a collection of .XSQL pages which are formatted using .XSL stylesheets that produce output HTML for the client.
    The application contains hyperlinks for navigation, but is largely Form driven.
    The application has already been deployed into an Oracle Application Server 10g container as a J2EE object(.ear file), and is fully functional and accessible over the web.
    In order to expose this application thru a Portlet window I utilized the Url-based provider services that come with the Oracle PDK. This allowed me to set up a simple URL-based provider for the site without any coding whatsoever. I also included inline rendering declarations to force the application response to be rendered within the Portlet window.
    This setup works fine when only hyperlinks are used to navigate thru the application, however, Forms do not appear to work with this setup. Everytime a form is submitted, the data is posted to the Portlet which fails to pass it thru to the underlying web application. Instead the Action="somepage.xsql" parameter is appended to the URL of the Portal itself thus returning a "page not found",etc... error.
    After much OTN searching I have found that the PDK 10.1.2 URL services package does not support Forms for inline rendering. Thus this solution comes close but falls short of what I need.
    I was wondering if anyone can point me to a solution that would:
    1) allow me to display the entire web application within a Portlet window (app only outputs HTML & some client-side javascript, but takes POST requests to the XSQL Servlet)
    2) without modifying it's current Form-driven interface, or any of the application's underlying code for that matter,
    3) and without having to resort to java coding the Portlet interface.
    The URL-Based Provider setup is almost perfect, I just need to find a way to allow forms to pass thru to the underlying application so that it's response can be rendered correctly.
    Current Setup:
    Oracle Application Server (Portal & Wireless) 10.1.2g
    J2EE with OC4J_containers.
    Oracle XSQL Servlet (ver 10)
    Windows 2000 OS

    I tried that, the default "Base URL" provides the "Display Option" attribute but only gives me these 2 options:
    - Full browse window link
    - New browser window link
    I have also tried other items that use "Base URL" (Simple URL, UrlItem, URL) and are all the same thing. The only items I could find (relevant to this need) and provide the option "Item displayed in page area" were:
    - "Page link" item
    - "External Application" portlet
    I even created a fresh Instant Portal to recreate the defaults and add the URL item again, but nothing :(

       <LI>For example: http://<CE server>:<Port>/?  <--- what will I have to put here so as to give the exact location?
    <LI>Thanks & Regards
    <LI>Gopal
    </UL>

    Hi Gopal,
    If I am not wrong, you need not do anything to the WSDL.
    If you carefully look at your WSDL in your NWDS, the soap:address attribute will point to the default location. However, the 'location' attribute will be 'Empty'. When you Deploy the Composite Application on the server, the location attribute value will be replaced by http://<server host name>:<port>/<WebService Name>/<Application  Service Name> in the WSDL on the server. The WSDL URL  is generated using the same format, and that is how it recognizes the service.
    You can deploy your application on the server and go to the Web Service Navigator and check the WDSL.

  • Tabstrip control  Tab line navigation button display issue

    I have a tabstrip that has more tabs than can be displayed at the top of the tabstrip control.  When this happens a navigation button appears on the far right of the tab line( the line that contains all the tabs).  This has been working fine for several years.  Recently I needed to increase the width of the tabstrip control so that it was 160 character wide.  Now when the tabstrip displays, the tab line stops displaying at around 130 characters so the navigation button no longer shows.  As it turns out, the button is still there and functions as normal, except that it cannot be seen even though there are still too many tabs to all be displayed.
    This appears to me to be a bug in the tabstrip control, but before I start complaining to SAP I thought I would ask here to see if anyone else might know of a solution to this problem.
    Thanks for looking.

    Hi,
    cresate a managed bean in viewScope within the parent page and pass it as an argument to the child task flow. The managed bean contains/exposes a method to hide the menu items you don't want to show (or just disable them). The child task flow then can call the managed bean (from its input parameter reference) and invoke the method (e.g. in a method call activity as the default activity of the task flow).

  • Portlet Page Navigation

    Hi,
    Can we have page navigation in portlet? What I mean to say is, can we have a link inside a WSRP portlet page (A JSF page actually) to navigate to a different JSP/JSF page within the same portlet container? Seems like it only refreshes the same page.
    I am using Oracle WebCenter 11G and created a portlet application and consumed it inside webcenter. The portlet itself works fine, but when I am trying to click on a command link on the same page, it only refreshes the portlet, the actual page transition does not happen.
    Please help.
    Thank you,
    Kanchan Upadhyay

    Hi Yannick,
    I would like to express my gratitude for helping so much!! Following your suggestion ("Performance issue"), I have started using the taskflow thru WebCenter extended application and not as a portlet. I have created .jsff pages (just copied the contents of my old JSPs to them) and created all navigation rules the way a bounded taskflow would expect to be (task-flow-definitions.xml). Finally I created a JSP page and dragged and dropped the taskflow file on the JSP to create a region and use it inside that.
    Now, when I run it, I get the following exception..
    path:/PollingPortlet-PollViewController-context-root spec-version:2.5]] Servlet failed with Exception

    Can you please guide me on this? I am totally clueless as the exception is not coming from any of my class!!
    Another problem that I am facing is, how can I validate users in such applications? What I mean to say is, if a user is logged in webcenter, and is trying to access my application exposed as a taskflow, that user's login information should automatically propagate in my application. For example, I may have an admin link in my application, that should only be available to admin user's and no other user should be able to check it. I am unable to implement such functionality. If you can guide on this, that would be helpful too.
    Many thanks in advance!!
    Thank you,
    Kanchan
