Exposing same webservices through different ports

I want to expose the same web services enclosed in EAR files through different port numbers.
I have tried doing the same by configuring managed server as well as cluster but not able to invoke the services using different port numbers.
I am using Weblogic server 8.1 sp4 and I have evaluation version of the server.
Can I do this?
If yes how?
Thanks,
Nitin

With that combination of requirements, you might consider the following elements:
Two managed servers, each having their own port (of course). The EAR would be deployed to each server, but you would only activate one of the web modules on each server. This could be controlled with a WLST script, or even a separate application whose only purpose is to prepare or unprepare each web module in the main application (there's an API for this).

  • ARD won't save multiple computers with same IP and different port!

I'm trying to access multiple computers over the internet behind a firewall with port forwarding.
I can access each computer, but ARD won't save the IP address and port (in IP Address column of ARD 3.1) of multiple computers with the same IP address. It will only save ONE. I've tried 'add by address', adding a list for each computer or adding a list for all those computers. Nothing has worked. ARD will actually change the first computer's IP address to 0.0.0.0
    Example: Static IP address
Computer 1 xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:51 (public port 51 is forwarded to port 5900 on computer 1)
Computer 2 xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:52 (public port 52 is forwarded to port 5900 on computer 2)
Computer 3 xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:53 (public port 53 is forwarded to port 5900 on computer 3)
Has Apple really overlooked this or am I missing something? Isn't this how most people would remotely manage multiple Macs offsite?
    Thanks

ARD cannot do this as you're asking. If your
workstations get their addresses from an NAT device
rather than being "real", the ports also need to be
forwarded in the router to the workstation's internal
IP address. ARD uses port 3283 for the reporting and
updating function, so if your Macs are getting their
IP addresses through NAT, since you can only forward
a port to a single workstation, you can only get
reports, push package/files to etc. for a single
    workstation.
ARD uses the VNC protocol for observation and
control, though, and there are a range of IP
addresses for that protocol, starting with 5900. ARD
uses 5900 by default, so that port would be forwarded
to the first workstation. You would, I believe, need
to install VNC servers on the systems (since the ARD
client cannot listen on any port other than 5900
while VNC servers can be set for other ports such as
5901, 5902, etc. You would then forward 5901 to the
second workstation (and on to 5902, 5903, etc.). You
can then use the following information:
Remote Desktop 2: How to specify a port number
    for a VNC client
    to connect.
The only other options are: 1) to run the ARD
administrator on a workstation on the network, and
then take control of that system from outside, either
via VNC or another copy of ARD, or 2) set up a
virtual private network (VPN) so that when you
connect from outside, your admin system is officially
    part of the local network.
    Hope this helps.
That definitely helps. I have ARD installed on my MBP and on a workstation on the LAN. I have used ARD from the MBP to control ARD on a workstation on the local network, but it can get a little tricky. I already have VNC setup on all the workstations. I used to use COTVNC prior to purchasing ARD 3.1.
I guess what I'm really asking is...
How do I add a list of workstations and save the settings (same IP address for each workstation with different ports?) to control/VNC via ARD?
I simply want a list that shows each workstation, so I can control/VNC them using ARD offsite.
Name: Computer 1 IP Address: 123.123.123.123:5901
Name: Computer 2 IP Address: 123.123.123.123:5902
Name: Computer 3 IP Address: 123.123.123.123:5903
I don't want to have to manually type in the IP address into ARD every time.
Will ARD simply not add another computer to the list if it has the same IP address but different port number as a computer already on the list? I haven't been able to find a way to make ARD do this.

  • Multiple entries in ARD with same ip, but different ports?

I always learn so much from these forums...thanks to all of you who take the time to answer.
I established 5900/3283 for my primary mac (mac 1) behind my router at home and then configured port forwarding to have a public port of 15900 mapped to the secondary machine (mac 2) at 5900. I have dyndns set up in my router and when connecting from the outside with ARD to the dns name without specifying the port, it connects to mac 1 without problem and reports mac 1 as the name in ARD. Great, no problem.
When I add the 15900 port to the dns name, ARD still shows the mac 1 as the name, but connects to mac 2. Can I fix this to correctly reflect the name of Mac 2? Also, it does not seem possible to have two clients in the ARD list with the same ip address, but different ports. Can this be fixed? Lastly, how do I connect 15900 and 13283 ports in one listing for the port forwarded mac, i.e. how do I enter xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:15900 and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:13283?
    Thanks,
    ed

  • ACE 4710 same real servers, different ports.

Hi! I have the following question based on a new site requirement. The following sites use the same back end servers. Names changed to protect the innocent and my finger fumbling with pretty names for my actual config.
I have two real servers being load balanced: 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2
    They have:
    Site A URL= www.testsite.com:80
    Site B URL= www.newstuff.com:81
I want Site B answering on port 81 for anything referencing the URL match for either port :80, and :81, then redirect to :81 anything that is on :80.
I want Site A answering on port 80 for anything not referencing the Site B URL.
How do I split the traffic coming in while also redirecting if only needed for the one site?
Also, one further question, how do I handle monitoring the ports up for each as validation for the VIP? If either port goes down is that going to take both of them offline?

    Hi,
Since they are two different URL's, they would be resolving to two different VIPs. You can create two serverfarms with same servers but listening on ports 81 and 80 and create a class-map for different IP's or even same IP, listening on port 81 and 80. Any client coming with port 80 as destination would be loadbalanced to serverfarm_80 and any client coming on port 81 as destination would be loadbalanced to serverfarm_81.

  • Multiple servers with same IP but different ports - problem listing in ARD

Hi - I have no problem connecting to multiple Macs behind a single IP (router) using different ports, port forwarding, dyndns, etc., etc.
The problem I'm having is that in the list of computers in ARD, it won't let you have more than one with the same IP address. When you create the second with the same IP, it clears the first one, giving it an IP of 0.0.0.0. They are on different ports, but that's not counted as part of the IP, so it still gets cleared. I use different dyndns domain names, but ARD instantly converts them to an IP when creating the entry, so that doesn't help either.
    Are there any workarounds?

My computer was updated from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I'm still using CS6.  I can not manage two different sites with the same IP address but one has a different port number.
I have it set on Docuemnt Root but apparently it doesn't matter because I'm having the same issue if I change it to site root.
This is what I get to preview:

    http://168.40.15.60:81/Admin/facility-management-leasing/facility-management/forms.shtml

    I'm getting file:///W:/news/Announcements.html instead of http://168.40.15.60//news/Announcements.html

  • OHS not able to redirect to two different ports of the same managed server

    Hi
I need to redirect to different ports of the same managed server (say M1, M2) based on the availability of the managed server. ie when managed server M1 is busy handling other requests i need to redirect my new request to M2. i already have this mechanism to find out which managed server is free.
so now the problem is if M2 is free how would i tell ohs to redirect it to M2 server??
M1,M2 both managed servers are hosted at host1.example.com.
    M1 port - 8001
    M2 port - 8003
    my context root is /YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService
    my mod_wl_ohs.conf is defined as:
    <Location /M1/YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    PathTrim /M1
    WebLogicHost host1.example.com
    WebLogicPort 8001
    </Location>
    <Location /M2/YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    PathTrim /M2
    WebLogicHost host1.example.com
    WebLogicPort 8003
    </Location>
when i type the url in browser as "http://<ohs_server_url>:7777/M2/YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService"
This is not working. Is there any way to do it?
    Please help me here.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to use the same OC4j server with different port number

How to use the same OC4j server with different port numbers..?
I have to OC4J installed on my machine on different hard disk drives....
I want to be able to run both the server simultaneously..?
is it possible ..it yes then how..?
for that i have changed the port number of one server...
but when i am trying to start the other server with different port number..it says that JVM -Bind already...
    Is there any clues...?
    Nilesh G

    In the config directory:
default-web-site.xml: Change the port the HTTP listener listens on
jms.xml: Change the port the JMS service listens on
rmi.xml: Change the port the ORMI listener listens on.
Or, you can add another web-site.xml file, and deploy your applications to 1 server, and bind the web applications to the different web sites. This way you only have to deploy your applications to 1 place.

  • Bug with using 2 certificates on a different port on the same machine

There seems to be an issue with using secure connection to the same web location but on a different port.
It is slightly difficult to recreate exactly but very often when one of the connections has been negotiated and the (self-signed) certificate added to Firefox when connecting to the same URL but placing a different port in the browser I get the error...
    (Error code: sec_error_bad_signature)
It appears to get in a muddle as to which certificate should be used for which port. They have both been downloaded and the port number appears to be available in the certificate selection process but an error occurs nonetheless.

I belive you can, I think my friends Apple TV is connected to their internet via an Ethernet cable, and we use Airplay sometimes using our iPads that are connected to the same network via WiFi. It should work as long as they are both connected to the same network. However, I don't have an Apple TV of my own, so don't take this as a solid answer.

I really don't know DDE very well. It is usually recommended that you switch to using ActiveX. You may not be correctly configuring the netDDE server. There is an example in the reource library that shows how to do this. You may also want to look at the DDE advise examples that came with LabVIEW 5.1 and earlier.

  • Setting up different webservices based on port number

I have several different web services set up on different port numbers, but would like to access them based on the sub domain instead of the port number.
for instance we have Rumpus ftp running on port 8000
    webmail running on port 82
    wiki running on port 80
at the moment they are accessed by our.domain-name.co.uk:port number
I have the following sub domains set up with our domain registrar which point to our server.
    ftp
    web
    mail
how do I tie all this together so just typing ftp.domain-name.co.uk points to rumpus on port 8000

    Short answer, double-up.
The port number will take precedence, so if you have a virtual host listening on port 8000 then it's only going to process requests on that port. There's no way for it to process hits that come in on a different port.
You could configure the port 80 virtual host as a proxy to proxy the connection to the port 82/8000 server based on the hostname, but it would be easier (by far) to just setup another virtual host.
    For example, you setup:
    *:82 -> wiki
then you setup another virtual host:
    web.domain-name.co.uk:80 -> wiki
    Likewise you setup:
    *:82 - > webmail
    and
    mail.domain-name.co.uk:80 -> webmail
In both cases you'd need to duplicate the site's configuration, which means more administration - if you make a change to your webmail setup you need to make it in both places.
The one gotcha is that IIRC Rumpus runs as its own server, not an Apache virtual host, so that may need to be setup as a proxy.

  • Motion Menu backgrounds are the same through different languages... why?

I'm building a project with several still menus, but one motion menu for main title. The Project has two languages, Spanish and English, and I've created the menus for both languages. Still menus have the same background and different text objects. The motion menu has different video backgrounds for each language, and the same overlay for both. So far so good, everything works as expected in the simulation window, I can see the desired background after setting the language menu preference.
Then I build the project and... DVD player shows only the first language background, no matter the language I choose in preferences. But this happens only in the motion menu, still menus work fine.
I opened the menus VOB in the build folder with MPEG Streamclip to check what happened, and the same video background appears twice. Other commercial DVD's I've checked show the different backgrounds sequentially, so the player chooses which point of the VOB must be played according to player's SPRM 0 setting.
I tried altering the order of languages in DVDSP outline editor, I had Spanish first then English, and after swapping them and building again, the menus VOB shows English background twice.
The result is no matter which language I choose to see, I always get the one that is first in outline editor.
I also tried, just for checking, assigning different text objects to both languages, and they do work as expected. But since the menu has an intro with a loop point where I want the text to appear, this is not a deffinitive option for me.
I understand this is a bug in DVDSP, so the question is... any workaround anyone may think of?
If someone knows how I can edit the vob manually that would do for now.

Hi DGuerra, based on a past thread, the missing comments may be related to using avast! and its browser add-on(s).
Firefox is so easy to customize that it's not really surprising to find differences between two systems. These can relate to the menu choices (orange Firefox button or classic menu bar), toolbar layouts, and of course, add-ons.
If you have a preference for one setup versus another, hopefully these articles can equalize some of those layout issues:
    * [[Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar]]
    * [[Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars]]
You can compare extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
Perhaps you can get the two side-by-side to make it easier, or to extract a text list, you can use the troubleshooting information page. Either:
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
The button in the upper left corner "Copy text to clipboard" will grab the configuration information from entire page.

  • Use same SSLSession for another port

    Hi!
The SSLContext determines onto the host and the port wether a SSLSession is available for resuming or not. Now i want to use one Session for the same host but a different port. Is there any way to do this? The port is nowhere exposed and i cant find an entrypoint where to customize sth in order to allow the same session for another port.
    Azrael

i tried version (a) with different port-combinations but i didnt have any luck. so i informed myself about sslengine. Found a good guide for it and it doesnt look that bad, altough all the handshake and lengthy-task problems.
The big problem is now for me: how will it be determined here which sesions to resume? again only through the host and port you give when creating the engine? then itll be quite easy to solve my problem.
    thanks already for the answer
    Azrael
btw: itll be also interesting for me to either implement the sslengine into synchonous sockets and/or learn asynchronous sockets in java.

  • Problem invoking XI webservice through webdynpro

We have created a webservice on XI that calls the BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETLIST on an R/3 4.6C system.  We generated the WSDL using the Integration builder and corrected the URL to point to the webservice (rather than the wizard proposed URL).
We can call the webservice through XMLspy and other tools.  But we are not able to use webdynpro to invoke the webservice.  We uploaded the webservice on the web application server so we can get to it through a URL.
The problem is that when we use webdynpro and try to link it to a webservice, we can point to the URL which is for the WSDL we uploaded to the webserver.  But there is no other field in webdynpro to specify the URL for the webservice endpoint.  The endpoint is actually in the WSDL and it seems correct:
    http://servername:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_EXTERNALAPP:BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETLIST_WEBSERVICE_SOAP_SENDER;version=3.0;Sender.Service=BS_EXTERNALAPP;Interface=http://xyz.com/xi_demo/BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETLIST_OUTBOUND_SYNC_MI
Through XMLspy we can just point to the WSDL.  And then we can just specify the username and password and it runs.  But with webdynpro, we are not able to invoke it.
Any ideas what we can do?
    Here is the WSDL below:

When i try to make the call through Test Data service in Visual composer, i get the error: "Portal request failed (Could not execute Web service operation)".  This happens regardless of whether we supply input values for Comp Code and Comp Name.
So Visual composer is reading the WSDL and showing the input parameters correctly.  The link for the WSDL needs the same authentication user and pwd as the actual webservice invocation link which is in the WSDL.
So i am not sure why the call is failing because it works easily through XMLspy.
