Extension to Oracle SQL Developer
hi
could anyone share the details of how to do the following
i want to extend the sql developer such that whenever an update is performed in the data grid i.e. in the data tab i want to perform some custom action
could anyone help me how to start in order to achieve it.
Thanks in advance.
What's some custom action ?
Sure you don't just want a trigger?

Table API Extension for Oracle SQL Developer
I just created small project [Table API Generator for Oracle|http://code.google.com/p/tapig/].
Idea is to only maintain tables and generate table API (TAPI) packages for data manipulation.
Generated:
- insert, update, delete, querying procedures
- documentation based on table columns comments
Do you think it will be useful to have custom Table API Generator as extension for Oracle SQL Developer?Never used them myself and quite legacy, but I'm sure there's still a lot of people using them and the basic idea is quite nice.
This would also qualify perfectly as a User Defined XML Extension for sqldev; little work but big results. Even if you were the only one using it, it would still pay off.
Have fun,

Problem in deploying Java Extension to ORacle SQL Developer
Hi all,
I have developed a simple Java extension using Oracle Jdeveloper. This extension creates a preference in Tools->Preferences.
I have deployed it on Jdeveloper and it works fine. But when I deploy it on Oracle SQL Developer its functionality does not work
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
and Oracle SQL Developer 3.2.20.09 (Latest Version).Hello,
You are giving few informations. Is the extension listed in the extensions tab in the 'About' tab? Are you able to deploy any extension to SQLD?

JAR conflicts in Oracle SQL Developer Extension
Hi,
I am developing a extension for Oracle SQL Developer. I want to use JavaFX to show a WebView inside SQLDeveloper, so I imported such library.
When I try to use such library, the program crashes with an error (NoSuchMethodError) pointing to the constructor of JSObject. The problem is that oracle.help_5.0 (bundled with sql developer) and JavaFX (in the future is going to be bundled in jre) defines the same class (netscape.javascript.JSObject) with different implementations.
My question is that if it is possible to define/modify the ClassLoader to serve the JSObject provided by JavaFX library to the JavaFX library.
Thank you in advance!Thats odd.
Do you see any exceptions in console ? (to see the console launch sqldeveloper.exe in ../sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/bin dir.)

How to use Oracle SQL Developer 4.0 to connect to Ms Access file with .accdb extension
Hi all,
I am using Oracle SQL Developer 4.0 and Ms Access 2013 under Windows 7 (64 bits)
After browsing and selecting MS Access file with accdb extention, I got an error message :[Microsoft] " Data source name not found and no default driver specified".
On Administravitve Tools=> ODBC Data Source Administrator=>Drivers I have File date
Name : Version
Microsoft Acess Driver (*.mdb, *accdb) 12.00.4518.1014 ACEODBC.DLL 26/10/2006
Would you please advise?
Thank you very much in advanceThat MS Access driver is 64-bit, I think. If SQL Developer, or JDK is 32-bit you need to use the 32-bit driver. You can see if you have a 32-bit driver installed using c:\windows\system32\odbcadm32.exe

How to see job section in "Oracle SQL Developer"
Hi,
I am using oracle SQL developer to connect to oracle instance unlike procedure,tables,views i am not able to see job section (we have can see in toad as job section) please help me to get locate the same.There's no support for jobs yet. Vote on the existing feature requests at the SQL Developer Exchange if you want to add weight for future implementation.
If you have trouble handling them manually, you can always ask help on the SQL And PL/SQL forum...
Thanks,
K.
Edited by: -K- on 20/05/2009 12:27:
BTW, there are some job reports (Reports - All Reports - Data Dictionary Reports - Jobs), but those will list only DBMS_JOB stuff, not the DBMS_SCHEDULER ones.
You can also create your own reports and/or User Defined Extensions to add a Jobs node inside the connection navigator, but that's for more advanced users... -
Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 EA1 and 1.5.5 not working on MacOS X Snow Leopard
Currently, the Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 EA1 and 1.5.5 are not working on MacOS X Snow Leopard. Is there a plan to support the actual version of OS X?
When I try to start the MacOS X-Download I always get the following errors using MacOS X 10.6.1:

I don't have any problems with my OS instead of you.
I have already told you what to do, if you have no idea how to do that just go and buy yourself another support subscription from your mac support.
The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system. check that.
what version of JAVA do you have in your fancy OS? most of the time upgrade java to the latest version will fix the issues.
Update java from sun website not from another mac tore. -

I tried different solutions that I find on the internet and nothing worked (also tried installing new version 3.0 EA2) and still nothing). Could you please help me because I need this app badly?

felipe.bHello,
I get the same error after updating through Help->Check for Updates. I am at version 1.1.2.25 and the update does not change the version number of Oracle SQL Developer (Help->About), it remains at 1.1.2.25 (although if I look in extensions tab, it says: oracle.sqldeveloper 1.1.3.27.66 Loaded, possible bug in displaying version number?). These are the updates applied:
Upgraded Extensions
Oracle Microsoft Access Browser version 1.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer - Snippet version 10.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer version 1.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer - Reports version 10.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Server Browser version 1.1.3.27.66
Oracle MySQL Browser version 1.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer - Worksheet version 10.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer - Extras version 1.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer - SearchBar version 10.1.3.27.66
Oracle SQL Developer - Object Viewer version 10.1.3.27.66
I ran the update several times and was able to reproduce the error under a specific condition. If I am connected to a database at the time of the update I get the error. If I am not conneceted at the time of the update I do not get the error.
As stated, by Donal, sql developer seems to get over the problem after restarting itself twice.

Issue with Oracle SQL Developer
I use a oracle database for my process (LMS relared stuff)
When i write a query which is expected to pull thousands and thousands of records. Why do i need to keep scrolling down to fetch more records.
Why will it not pull all the records?
I need to keep scrolling down till i get all the records.
Any solution?
(I'm using it for the first time in my life. i'm just 3 day old to this software)
My O/S: Win XP Professional with 1gb of RAM.
Oracle SQL Developer Version: 1.2.1 Build Main-32.13
Is any other information required???

user599780This will be in the next release. However, if you want to put this in now you can make an extension ( there's examples on my blog) and put this chuck of code in:
Connections.getInstance().addConnectionListener(new ConnectionListener() {
public void connectionAdded(ConnectionEvent evt) {}
public void connectionClosed(ConnectionEvent evt) {}
public void connectionModified(ConnectionEvent evt) {}
public void connectionOpened(ConnectionEvent evt) {
Connection conn = Connections.getInstance().getConnection(evt.getConnectionName());
if (conn instanceof OracleConnection){
((OracleConnection)conn).setDefaultRowPrefetch(DBConfig.getInstance().getInt(DBConfig.ARRAYFETCHSIZE));
public void connectionRemoved(ConnectionEvent evt) {}
public void connectionRenamed(ConnectionEvent evt) {}
