JAR conflicts in Oracle SQL Developer Extension

Hi,
I am developing a extension for Oracle SQL Developer. I want to use JavaFX to show a WebView inside SQLDeveloper, so I imported such library.
When I try to use such library, the program crashes with an error (NoSuchMethodError) pointing to the constructor of JSObject. The problem is that oracle.help_5.0 (bundled with sql developer) and JavaFX (in the future is going to be bundled in jre) defines the same class (netscape.javascript.JSObject) with different implementations.
My question is that if it is possible to define/modify the ClassLoader to serve the JSObject provided by JavaFX library to the JavaFX library.
Thank you in advance!

Thats odd.
Do you see any exceptions in console ? (to see the console launch sqldeveloper.exe in ../sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/bin dir.)

  • Problem in deploying Java Extension to ORacle SQL Developer

    Hi all,
    I have developed a simple Java extension using Oracle Jdeveloper. This extension creates a preference in Tools->Preferences.
    I have deployed it on Jdeveloper and it works fine. But when I deploy it on Oracle SQL Developer its functionality does not work
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
    and Oracle SQL Developer 3.2.20.09 (Latest Version).

    Hello,
    You are giving few informations. Is the extension listed in the extensions tab in the 'About' tab? Are you able to deploy any extension to SQLD?

  • Table API Extension for Oracle SQL Developer

    I just created small project [Table API Generator for Oracle|http://code.google.com/p/tapig/].
    Idea is to only maintain tables and generate table API (TAPI) packages for data manipulation.
    Generated:
    - insert, update, delete, querying procedures
    - documentation based on table columns comments
    Do you think it will be useful to have custom Table API Generator as extension for Oracle SQL Developer?

    Never used them myself and quite legacy, but I'm sure there's still a lot of people using them and the basic idea is quite nice.
    This would also qualify perfectly as a User Defined XML Extension for sqldev; little work but big results. Even if you were the only one using it, it would still pay off.
    Have fun,
    K.

  • How to use Oracle SQL Developer 4.0 to connect to Ms Access file with .accdb extension

    Hi all,
    I am using Oracle SQL Developer 4.0 and Ms Access 2013 under Windows 7 (64 bits)
    After browsing and selecting MS Access file with accdb extention, I got  an error message  :[Microsoft] " Data source name not found and no default driver specified".
    On Administravitve Tools=> ODBC Data Source Administrator=>Drivers I have                                                File                                date
    Name :                                                                               Version
    Microsoft Acess Driver (*.mdb, *accdb)                                 12.00.4518.1014                                        ACEODBC.DLL                    26/10/2006
    Would you please advise?
    Thank you very much in advance

    That MS Access driver is 64-bit, I think.  If SQL Developer, or JDK is 32-bit you need to use the 32-bit driver.   You can see if you have a 32-bit driver installed using  c:\windows\system32\odbcadm32.exe

    You have started this annoying discussion.
    I don't have any problems with my OS instead of you.
    I have already told you what to do, if you have no idea how to do that just go and buy yourself another support subscription from your mac support.
    The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system. check that.
    what version of JAVA do you have in your fancy OS? most of the time upgrade java to the latest version will fix the issues.
    Update java from sun website not from another mac tore.

  • Help required in developing SQL developer extension

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to develop an extension for Sql Developer. The requirement matches the Reports framework in Sql Developer.
    We need to have a separate dock as in reports where we can navigate through the tree and execute some predefined queries.
    I implemented this using the Docking Sample of Sql Developer extensions. I am able to show a separate dock with the tree hieararchy of the nodes and adding context menus to the nodes.
    But , the problem is how do we integrate this UI with the queries and how do we prompt the user to select the connections and other bind variables.
    We can do this by using an XML file and importing it in the reports. But, we need a separate dock for our functionality.
    I tried modifying the reports API by obtaining the code from the oracle.sqldeveloper.report.jar . But , facing problems while compiling the modified code to a jar.
    Any help in this regard is appreciated.

    Sorry for that,
    Here is what I did,
    Create a variable for posting period
    Put posting period in column.
    Create 2 selections for the KF.
    Restrict 1st sel from Jan – Variable-1
    Restrict 2nd sel from Variable – Dec

  • How to see job section in "Oracle SQL Developer"

    Hi,
    I am using oracle SQL developer to connect to oracle instance unlike procedure,tables,views i am not able to see job section (we have can see in toad as job section) please help me to get locate the same.

    There's no support for jobs yet. Vote on the existing feature requests at the SQL Developer Exchange if you want to add weight for future implementation.
    If you have trouble handling them manually, you can always ask help on the SQL And PL/SQL forum...
    Thanks,
    K.
    Edited by: -K- on 20/05/2009 12:27:
    BTW, there are some job reports (Reports - All Reports - Data Dictionary Reports - Jobs), but those will list only DBMS_JOB stuff, not the DBMS_SCHEDULER ones.
    You can also create your own reports and/or User Defined Extensions to add a Jobs node inside the connection navigator, but that's for more advanced users...

  • SQL Server database (read-only mode) in Oracle SQL Developer

    Hello,
    I connected SQL server database with Oracle SQL Developer 3.2.10.09, everything looks good except i can only browse data, i cannot change data in tables cannot insert new or delete rows. Query is also disabled (i got message: Query Builder is not supported for this connection type.) I used Third Party JDBC Drivers - jtds-1.2.6.jar as my connection to SQL server. Is there a way to change data in tables?
    Thank you.

    AFAIK editing table data in the grid is only possible with an Oracle database. On MS SQL you'll have to use update statements in the worksheet.
    Hope that helps,
    dhalek

  • Oracle SQL Developer does not browse Sybase's objects

    I had installed and configured jtds-1.2.5.jar in Oracle SQL Developer for Sysbase connection. Oracle SQL Developer does not browse any objects. Why? Can you please provide a solution?

    Hi,
    Can you provide some more information into what you are experiencing.
    What version of SQL Developer are you using?
    Did you install the jtds jar under the
    Tools > Preferences > Database > Third Party JDBC Driver
    Is the Sybase tab available in the new connection dialog?
    Did you select the default database in the connection dialog?
    Can you run a query against the Sybase database from the SQL Developer worksheet?
    Note that JTDS 1.2 is the only supported version. There maybe issues with other versions.
    Regards,
    Dermot.

         Connection con= null; //connection create
              Statement stat = null; //prepared statement create
              ResultSet rs=null; //result set to hold result
              try{
              Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
              con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,"scott","tiger");
              stat = con.createStatement();
              rs = stat.executeQuery("select Name from UserRecord");
              while (rs.next()) {               // Position the cursor
                        // Retrieve the first column value
                        System.err.println("Name= " +rs.getString("Name"));
                        // Retrieve the first column value
                        System.err.println("Pswd= " +rs.getString("Password"));

              catch(Exception e){
                   System.err.println(e.getMessage());
              finally{
                        try{
                        if(con!=null)
                             con.close();
                        catch(Exception e){
                             System.err.println(e.getMessage());
    public static void main(String args[]){
         SelectData sd=new SelectData();
         sd.selectData();
    When i run this class file it gives error :-
    "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
    Plz help me out from this problem and suggest any configuration if required in oracle sql developer to run my programs.

    {color:#0000ff}hi,
    add the jar for oracle jdbc to the libraries.
    if you are using any IDE then just change the project properties adding the jar file.
    if not edit the classpath of the envoirnment variables.

  • SQL Developer extension

    Hello,
    I'm trying to add an extension to SQL Developer. I download manually RDB for SQL Developer extension and then I follow those instructions :
    1 . Click Help menu
    2 . Click Search for updates menu item
    3 . Install from local file and select installer.zip
    4 . Restart SQL Developer
    5 . Add some reports
    I should have an RDB tab in the new connexion window, but it doesn't work. Then I tried another way :
    1 . Click Help menu
    2 . Click Search for updates menu item
    3 . Check all sources (Oracle SQL Developer, Oracle Extensions, Third Party..), next
    4 . Check Oracle Rdb extension for SQL Developer 7.3, next
    In this case I have an error saying something like this :
    An error occured during the updates download
    http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/*null*
    Does anyone has an idea about this problem ?
    Thanks

    You can in the meantime download the extension yourself, instead of using check for updates. This http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/extensions-083825.html is our extensions page. Select the RDB link to take you their downloads page and you'll find the Oracle Rdb Extension for SQL Developer Release 7.3 on that page.
    Quick link is: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/rdb/downloads/index.html
