External monitor AOC i2369Vm: compatible with my 2007 MBPro?

Hi there,
I have an 'old' but cherished 2007 MacBook Pro.
I am thinking of buying an external monitor AOC i2369Vm.
Are there compatibility problems regarding connecting ports etc? Online I've seen a few users who've complained of these but no answers were forthcoming when they posted their issues.
If there aren't any problems, then great. But if so, are there any suggestions regarding compatible and similarly - priced monitors?
Thanks a lot for your help, Adrian

I have an LG GE24LU20 and works great with either my iMac or Mac Mini.

Heck' I can even open and close the tray from my menu bar icon,
plus it is way faster and less finicky than the superdrives.

  • What is max internal hard drive transfer rate compatible with a 2007 MacBook Pro?

In attempt to upgrade my mid-2007 MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo), I bought a Seagate 750GB listed as compatible with my computer on MacSales.com . . .
Seagate Momentus XT ST750LX003 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache 2.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Solid State Hybrid Drive -Bare Drive
Installation appeared to go well and I ran an extended hardware test with no issues found.  However, the drive is listed at 5.46 TB (would be nice) and I get an input/output error when attempting to partition.  I can initiate an erase, but after the time I would suspect it would take to erase the drive, I get an input/output error - it seems to appear after the first 750 GB of the '5.5 TB' was erased.  At all times, the drive is not recognized when I attempt to install OS X from original discs.
I suspect the 6.0 GB/s transfer capacity of the hard drive is not compatible with the MacBook Pro.  The drive came with 4 jumper pins but no jumper and no label diagram to set a slower transfer rate.  I called Seagate, Newegg, OWC, and Apple, but no one has compatibility info for my MacBook Pro.  To them, it appears I am running the first tests of this new technology with an 'older' MacBook Pro.
My MBP has had no issues - I'd like to keep her going with the optimum internal hard drive capacity, but don't necessarily want to set up a test bench in my house (though my kids would enjoy destroying it) and pay several shipping and restocking fees to test new hard drives.
The original drive had a 1.5 GB/s transfer rate.  Does anyone know the maximum transfer rate compatible with a 2007 MacBook Pro?  3.0 GB/s?  1.5 GB/s?  Thank you.

No spinning hard drive will transfer data faster then 60-80MB a second. The XT models have a flash storage area that is used when reading and writing data that can make it Appear faster in some situations. That flash memory if only 8 or 16GBs in side, I forget which one.
The drie is rated to work on 6GB SATA bus but it certainly can not transfer data that fast. It should be backword compatible to work on slower buses.
Your drive is 750GBs in size. Not wure where you are getting this 5.5TB (that is 5.5 Tera Bytes which is 5500 Giga Bytes. Your drive is under 1TB)
What are you using to partition the drive? Disk Utilities from the original install DVD?
You need to install on your old drive, Update it from the Apple Website then clone it to the new drive. The version of OSX you are using may not function correctly with that large of a drive. Or get yourself a copy of Snow Leopard, retail disk for $29 from Apple, and do all the partitioning and installing with that version od OSX.

  • HP Pavilion external monitor has stopped working with my Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) with OSX 10.8.3

HP Pavilion external monitor has stopped working with my Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) with OSX 10.8.3.  When I purchased the monitor a few weeks ago it worked perfectly when computer was in clamshell mode or with lid open. Now external display has stopped working.  When I turn on display it scans for signal but does not find it and then immediately goes into sleep mode.  I am using a DVI connection with the adapter for the mini display plug.  REALLY FRUSTRATING. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

    Hi lancekatigbak,
If you're having issues with the display out on your MacBook Pro, you may want to take a look at the troubleshooting steps in the following article:

  • My MBP recently started logging itself out.  I narrowed the problem to the external monitor which is connected with a Thunderbolt adapter. When I disconnected it, the problem went away.

My early 2011 MBP laptop (OS Yosemite 10.2.2) recently started logging itself out.  I narrowed the problem to the external monitor which is connected with a Thunderbolt adapter. I installed Thunderbolt firmware update 1.2, that did not correct the problem. When I disconnect the external monitor, the problem went away. Is there something I can do to be able to use the external monitor again?

  • Is a SATA 6Gbp/s SSD compatible with my 2007 MB

    Hello,
I was wandering whether a 6Gbp/s SATA 3 SSD is compatible with my 2007 Black MacBook. I know the MacBook is limited to 1.5Gbp/s but I need the speed improvements. Just wandering if the cables are the same and all that.
    Thanks in Advance

Yes, the drive will fit - it has a 9mm x 2.5" form factor and will fit right into your current hard drive bay. If I were you, I would buy an enclosure for your old hard drive and use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the old drive to the new. See https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4122.
Installing the drive is very simple - you just need a Phillips #00 and a Torx T6 screwdrivers. There are literally hundreds of videos on YouTube that take you step-by-step through the process of installing a SSD into whichever MBP model you have. I've a late 2011 and basically all I had to do was two remove the ten screws on the back panel with the Phillips, unscrew the two-screw bracket with the same Phillips, and remove the four Torx screws that hold the drive in place and reinstall those on the SSD using the Torx screwdriver. It's really a very easy process.
When you have your SSD installed and your old drive in an enclosure, you'll boot from your old drive, use Disk Utility to erase and partition your SSD ("Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" with a single GUID partition) and use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the old drive to the new. Then select the SSD as your Startup Drive in System preferences and reboot. That's it.
    Any more questions? Call back...

edit: OWC is a good place to find good and inexpensive drive enclosures.

  • Version 7.2 PDF GENERATOR compatible with OFfice 2007 ?

    Dear,
I didn't find any documentation about this point.
    Is 7.2 compatible with Office 2007 ?
Thanks a lot for your reply.

That is all great and fine yet I ALREADY PAID for the one I have - shouldn't have to pay FULL PRICE for another one...at the very least they should allow me to upgrade or update to fit my new version of window not buy an ENTIRE NEW program! Not cheap!

  • Is there any external storage that is compatible with the ipad2

is there any external storage that is compatible with the ipad2

the Wifi storage options are interesting but it seems they only allow to read files from the device on the iPad but not transfer files to the storage device via WiFi.
I'm looking for a possibility to use the iPad for photography while traveling, without the access to a computer.
Shooting photo's in RAW format crates pretty big files that will fill up the iPad's memory pretty fast if you shoot a lot during a (let's say) month long trip.
my idea was to use load the photo's to the iPad so i could view them and sort out any bad ones. then copy them over to the storage device so i can continue using my CF cards for shooting. I have an image thank for copying the photo's directly to the HDD but it would be so sweet to be able to check them on the iPad before hand.
    any suggestions?

  • External monitor for macbook pro with dead screen

Macbook pro built in 2007 has a dead screen but is otherwise ok. Connected external monitor displays only the astral starburst screen on all macs. How can I get the monitor to display my desktop if I can't see the macbook screen?

Connected external monitor displays only the astral starburst screen on all macs.
Then it is working as designed.
By default, the external screen is combined with the built-in screen into an Extended Desktop, as seen in the Arrange tab below. You need to (Gather Windows) to get all controls on all displays, then drag the tiny white MenuBar to the display where you want it to appear. Then things will begin to operate as you expect.

  • How do i get the slideshow to display on my external monitor in extended view with powerpoint?

i have my T500 (windows 7) connected to a large external monitor with extended view.  when i run powerpoint it displays the slideshow on my laptap screen instead of the external view.  how can i have the presenter view show on my laptop, and the slideshow show on the external monitor/projector?
    thanks!

You can do it that way, (Clone) but everything you do on your laptop will also be displayed on the monitor.
Assuming you would like the display on the external and freedom to navigate on your laptop without broadcasting, you would need to adjust your slide show settings in PowerPoint.
    To use this procedure:
In PowerPoint, On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
Under Multiple monitors > Display slide show on drop down menu:   select the monitor you want the slide show to appear on.

  • How many external monitors can I support with 13" rMBP (late 2012)?

Device has two DisplayPorts and each is powering an external display properly. It also has an HDMI port. Can I connect a third monitor here?

I got my new 13" Retina in the other day (late 2013 model ME865LL/A)
I was all excited to see if the two Thunderbolt 2 outputs and the HDMI output would work together, but plugging in the HDMI output knocked out one of the Thunderbolt outputs, so what I read was right, the 13" model will only power two external monitors.  Before I got this I kept reading over and over how it wasn't possible, but that was dealing with the Late '12 or the Early '13 models, I was hoping that the upgraded video card on the newest Haswell versions may be different, but alas, not to be....
But I did implement a work around as I have a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go DP Edition for my old Macbook and what that does is make my two Lenovo 22" widescreens look like one big 3840x1200 monitor to it's host (tricking the MB to thinking "hey, this is one monitor"), so this allows me to use one Thunderbolt output to power these two monitors and then I am using an HDMI --> DVI cable to power an HP 23" widescreen monitor I also have running at full resolution, all this in addition to the Laptop display as well:
Here is a quick 20 second video of all monitors playing video....   the one on the left in the middle row was staggering but that is more a problem with AMC's website more than anything, I never get good stream speeds from their site
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfIsupl3psc
I just installed iStat 4 an hour ago and am showing CPU temps around 150 degrees, not really sure what "normal" is or what is acceptable......  I'm going to keep tabs on what the temps are as I finish up my workday here (another 6 hours to go)
I still want to re-arrangle things so i only have two levels of screens to deal with, but still formulating that setup with my desk

  • T410 external monitor kills mouse/keyboard with dock

Hi there!  I'm trying to use an external monitor.  I also have a usb mouse and usb keyboard connected to the dock,  When the external monitor is connected I have have keyboard and mouse function both external and on the laptop.  I also have display on the external monitor.  Once I boot windows, I loose function of the mouse and keyboard both externally and on the laptop.  It's driving me nuts!!  Any ideas??
If I just boot at the dock with only the monitor plugged in, I loose the mouse/keyboard on the laptop.  Using the VGA plug.
Any help would be so grand!

I've tried 3 different mice and keyboards. The issue presents even if I just plug the monitor into the laptop without the dock either vga or div-x. The dock is a series 3 mini.
