External Resources(Graphics, CSS, ...) Not Displayed for SSL pages

Question

I'm trying to implement SSL on a test site that runs on TOMCAT 3.x. I have a simple "HelloWorld" script that runs fine without SSL. The script includes one image residing in the same folder. When the script is accessed via HTTPS, the image file doesn't display.
I access the script using an address like:
http://localhost/myapp/HelloWorld.jsp
The image source is as follows:
<IMG SRC="myImage.gif">
I even tried the following:
<IMG SRC="http://localhost/myapp/myImage.gif">
<IMG SRC="http://localhost/myapp/myImage.gif">
Any ideas why it's not displaying?
In fact, not external resource specified in the script is included, like JavaScript and StyleSheets files.

I did try HTTPS. What was happening is that we were using an ISAPI redirector for TOMCAT on IIS, once we tried accessing TOCAT directly, everything worked fine.
