External URL in Gateway Space

I have a portlet that does a Response.Redirect to another address within our domain. However, when the user accesses it. It is not in the Gateway space. How can I add this URL so that it resides in the Gateway Space?

In the web service go to HTTP settings - try appending the base URL to the list of gatewayed URL prefixes
EX: I want to gateway content from the main CNN "www" host:
http://www.cnn.com/.
the dot might or might not be necessary, but... the gateway seems happier with it.
See if that helps.
Thanks,
Eric

  • Gateway space URLs from pluggable nav

I have a custom menu of links built from an XML file via pluggable nav.  It is simple to add links to non-plumtree content, I simply add the URL.  Links to plumtree content seem less predictable.
How would I add URLs for content in the gateway space, such as a link to a particular portlet?  I am not clear as to all of the components of the PTARGS portion of a gateway URL.  It seems like I could simply copy the URL as displayed when I visit a particular Portlet, but I know that the Portlet ID will change, both over time and based on what enviornment displays the implementation, e.g. development server vs. test server vs. production server.
I suspect tricks like the PT XML tags, like pt:gatewayLink would not work in the custom, pluggable nav.

Yes, I read this prior to posting.  The "GatewayHelpers.ConstructPrefPageLink" method looks like it MAY be what I need but it does not answer my question.
    - The section about this in the 5.0.2 UI Customization Guide says "To include links to remote content, the content must be part of a remote portlet."  This would be local content, i.e. Porltets in the local Portal.  Maybe this would work the same way for local content?
    - I must pass the gadget id, but I would need to find a way to dynamically obtain the gadget id from the gadget name, because it would effectively change.  That sounds like some kind of simple search but I have yet to find that.
I am sure what I am asking is too simple, but please, any help would be great.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Please check below mention point.
    •  Create a relevant DNS entry in the mentioned zone to point to the RDS environment’s internal IP address
    •  Create a relevant DNS entry in external DNS to point to the firewall which is publishing RDS’s external IP address
    •  You can use the below mention script to change the FQDN of the RDP files provided by RD Web Access / RemoteApp and Desktop connection feed.
Change published FQDN for Server 2012 or 2012 R2 RDS Deployment

  • Publisher portlet error: Redirected outside of the gateway space

I get the following error in my Publisher portlets." ..cannot be displayed because the portlet redirected outside of the gateway space". The portlet is using the Published Content web service. The Log spy shows no error and all the publisher diagnostics are working fine. If I change the url for Published Content webservice from ...published_content_redirect.jsp to published_content_noredirect.jsp, it works fine. Any idea? :(

you have to make sure that the publish target url for your publisher portlets is "in the gateway space" (added to the list of allowed gateway urls) of the "Published Content" web service.

  • Transaction Launcher : How to get return parameters from an external URL

    Hello,
We need to launch an external URL in the Web Client UI. After the URL is launched, the user does some processing which results in some output values. These value have to be passed back to the Web Client UI and become a part of the quotation he is creating.
We are able to launch the URL using the Transaction Launcher. But we are not able to find a way to get the output values from the external URL to the Web client UI.
Please suggest any approach for this. It is OK even if we need to use an intermediate BSP to launch the external URL.

  • Form field to open a external URL passing  the value typed by user in URL

I am trying to build a text field with a "Go" button beside it so that when a user types in a value (e.g. a bug number) in this text field, it opens up a external URL (e.g. bugdb URL) with the parameter being passed in the URL. e.g:
    P1_SEARCH (Text field): 464666 (value)
So when I click on the Go button beside it, I want a URL to open in a new browser with the following URL:
http://xxxx.oracle.com/pls/edit_info_top?report_title=&rptno=:P1_SEARCH (P1_SEARCH should be replaced at the run time)
I tried using the branching and javascript:popupURL but I was not able to achieve the above mentioned flow.
Also, I noticed that when I try to create a button in a region selecting the option "Create a button displayed among this region's items", a javascript:doSubmit is automatically associated with it. Is there any way of changing it to javascript:popupURL?
Can somebody help me to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.

  • Opening an external url in the same browser

    Hi all,
I need to open an external URL (for instance,www.google.com) from my WDA application by 'linktoaction' or 'button' event and this should be happen in the same parent window and not as a external window.
Please suggest me steps with example codes to perform this.
    Regards,

Why use a linktoaction?  Just use a linkToURL.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/49/e8884118aa1709e10000000a155106/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/49/e8884118aa1709e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
You can use the target property to control how the link opens.
If you must use a button or linkToAction, the you will have to use an Exit Plug:

    Hi,
Finally it's resolved...Following is the solution thought to share in the forum:
The configuration of the E-Business Suite environment for DMZ requires profile options hierarchy type to be set
    to SERVRESP.
To change the profile options hierarchy type values to SERVRESP, execute the following SQL script as
    shown below:
    sqlplus / @/patch/115/sql/txkChangeProfH.sql SERVRESP
After successfully completing the above sql script, run Autoconfig in all nodes to complete the profile options configuration.
    It's resolved after doing this..

  • External URL Mapping and Full-Text Search Generation

    I have a dilemma,
I can map external URL all fine e.g.
    <map version="1.0">
    <mapID target="Welcome" url="http://docweb.net/help/test.html"/>
    </map>
but the html files are not contained in the local directory, and thus the jhindexer is unable to (as far as i know anyway) generate full-text search using the externally linked html files
also from using a decompiler I have found that you can "force" it to generate the help for external urls (as the indexer prefixes all urls with the "file:" protocol, but I can only get this to work under debug mode, else it gives a heapSpace exception, so I wish to avoid having to do anymore unneccesary digging/decompiling.
Also just as a gripe, why is most of the java help source code unavailable, and the Indexer seems to be very inflexible (ontop of not having any documentation)

That's the way it worked in X4 and later versions up but not including RH8. RH8 includes phrase searching in webhelp.

  • Aex: dynamic url - need to pass corresponding column values to external url

    Hi All,
I have created a report in which am trying to click on a column link which is a external url. In the url, part of column value needs to be passed as ID.
    Example: Report
    Name ID     Dept     Details
    King     FIN3413900     Finance     Link
    James     ACC3445812     Accounts     Link
So when I click on Link it should take me to the page : (See below example)
Display image for BLOB  Download link in Interactive Report (For King)
    Conditional regions (For James)
MessageID is no from the column ID. (FIN3413900). Hence it needs to be passed corresponding to the row clicked.
Common link is http://forums.oracle.com/forums/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID= (Only the number is derived directly from column ID).
I hope the requirement is clear. If any clarifications required let me know.
Please help me out with the possible solutions....Thanks in Advance....
    Regards,
    Vinoth

    Hi,
Go to the Report Attributes of your report. The column you have defined for the column link click on the edit icon. In the Column Link section choose target URL and in the URL field enter :-
http://forums.oracle.com/forums/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=#ID# Where ID is the name of the column that holds the FIN3413900.
    Hope that makes sense :o)

  • Link Webi Report to External URL using URL contained in Dim Object

I am trying to create a link in my WebI report to an external URL which is stored in a Dimension object.
The object is simply a string format which contains a link to a Lotus Notes database
    Example:
    Notes:///CA2573920000079B/0B4D8972EDD5DE7CCA257109000682B7/32250ACFEAF2B80FCA2573AB00831255
When I put the link into Internet Explorer I get the appropriate Lotus Notes databse, however, when trying the same in WebI using the following formula:
    ="<a href=[Notes url1] target='_blank'>Test</a>"
I get the following URL when clicking the link from InfoView
    http://auyhoz04.an.orica.net:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/viewers/cdz_adv/[Notes%20url1]
If I hardcode the URL into WebI
    ="<a href='Notes:///CA2573920000079B/0B4D8972EDD5DE7CCA257109000682B7/32250ACFEAF2B80FCA2573AB00831255' target='_blank'>Test</a>"
    It works without a problem.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple...is anyone able to help?

    Nathan,
When you build a URL on the fly it requires a certain way to encapsulate everything.  Here is another way for you to try it:
    ="<a href="+Char(34)+[Notes url1]+" target='_blank'>Test"+Char(34)+"</a>"
Plz note the use of Char(34) which generates a double-quote.  This method should help you with getting a dynamic product delivered to your audience.
    Thanks,
    John

Although the InContext editor is great for letting my client link to internal pages, documents and external pages I couldn't find where they would select the external URL to open in a new browser tab. Obviously I can go back in and add the html to their links but is there a way they can set the target?
    Cheers
    David

The sessionstore.js file only exists while Firefox is closed. During shutdown, Firefox writes out that file based (I think) on recovery.js as of that point. When Firefox starts back up again, it reads sessionstore.js and deletes it. So if Firefox is running, it's normal not to see sessionstore.js. Anyway, sessionstore.js is going to be empty now.
Shadow Explorer might already have done this for you, but just in case...
You could try the previous versions feature. This is harder to get to on Windows 8 and 8.1, but I have read about a roundabout way. I can't test this myself, but here's what you do:
Let's say you have a Windows Explorer window open to your current Firefox profile folder. This is something like (with your username and semi-random profile folder name):
    C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\blahblah
Click in the address bar and change the C: to
    \\localhost\c$
to yield (with your username and semi-random profile folder name)
    \\localhost\c$\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\blahblah
Press Enter to reload the folder contents that way.
Now when you right-click recovery.js, recovery.bak, backup.js or sessionstore.js and choose Properties, there should be a Previous Versions tab. Usually the most recent previous version dates back to the last time Windows created a restore point (e.g., system update or possibly scheduled on a more frequent basis).

  • JSF pages to display content from external URLs

    Hi,
Is it possible for a JSF page that uses ADF controls, and the PanelPage component to provide menuing, etc. to actually allow a HTML page (accessed via a URL to an external site/application) to be displayed in an area within the JSF page?
For example, clicking a menu item to an external HTML page results in the page being displayed in a Frame or similar within the JSF page?
I've tried the FrameBorderLayout control and Frame control to try to embed a Frame to display such a page via the target setting for a menu item, but that doesn't seem to work. At least not when within a PanelPage. It works within a basic JSP page.
I would have thought it would be possible for a JSF application to incorporate HTML content from other sites/servers as if part of the application. Even if this meant defining "wrapper" pages of some sort to effectively link these into the JSF application as part of it's navigation rules.
    Or am I missing something?

    Thanks,
Yes, using an iFrame tag within a verbatim tag worked, allowing me to specify an external URL to a page which is then displayed at the location where I placed the verbatim tag. I need to investigate sizing/border settings, but at least I now seem to be able to embed such pages.
    This works.
I tried jsp:include as well, but that only seems to allow relative URLs to pages that a part of the application. And using the c:import JSTL tag would import a page at an external URL, but didn't seem to position it where I wanted it.
