Extract data from extractors ?

Hi,
Is there any way to read data from the BW extractor using an abap program ? Like we have extractors for SD module and rather than me extracting the data from individual tables in sap, I can read the data from the related extractors. This will save me time !!

There must be a way... RSA3 is doing that. You'll have to debug RSA3 and find out what you need to do.
Some LIS extractors expect setup tables to be filled up before RSA3 (or BW) can begin extracting data.
I would first check if there are any BAPIs that can be used. Dealing with BAPIs is much easier than figuring all these out.

What key fields should i set in DSO extracting data from 2LIS_02_ITM

hi experts
i extract data from 2LIS_02_ITM into a DSO, i know the DSO isn't a must, becoz the 2LIS_02_ITM delta type is ABR, but i want to keep the info in change log.
so, what the key fields should i set in the dso? just ebeln and ebelp is enough?

If you extract ITM toa DSO you cannot maintain a log of every change....the data will come ....but when the data must be activated the reference of the ebelp ebeln will remain only a single record....if you want to maintain all the data you must create another field in extractor with you can difference all the changes for one single ebelp ebeln...

Extracting data from Z-table from SAP R/3 to BW

I want to extract data from a Z-table from SAP R/3 system to Bw system. Currently I am on BW 3.5. Since it is a Z table I dont have a standard extractor for it & I dont knw how to create it. Can anyone provide me with the step-by-step documentation of how to extract data from a non standard SAP table????

You need to create Generic Datasource on the Z-Table you want to get data from
Go to RSO2 transaction to create generic datasource .
You need to give technical name of datasource under datasource type you want and click on create. Then you can give descrption and Application component under which u want see the datasource,
enter the z table name under view/ table and save.
here you can click on check boxes to make fields hidden or selection fields.

Hi,
First you need to check if the tables are standard tables or custom tables. If they are standard tables check which extractors are using those tables.
If they are not being used by any of the standard extractors then you you need to create generic datasource for the same. The same hold true for custom tables as well. For custom tables, you'll need to create generic datasource. If you search the forum for generic datasources you'll get a lot of information.
Its very important that you understand the table relationships, data volumes, if delta is possible or not, data granularity, etc for your datasource design.

Extracting Data from SAP ERP using BODI/Data Services 4.0

HI,
I am trying to extract data from SAP ERP via SAP extractors using BODI/Data Services 4.0.
I do not have my own ERP system so I am renting remote access from one of the many available on the internet.
I am able to connect BODI to the ERP system and import the extractors metadata.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I run job to extract the data I get the following error:
Vendor-supplied function module <Z_AW_RFC_READ_EXTRACTOR> not found. Ensure that you can execute the function module in SAP via transaction /nSE37.
How do I create the function? Or is the function a SAP standard function?
SAP ERP system being used is: ECC6 EHP4
User has SAP FULL and DEVELOPER authorizations.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Error while extracting data from CRM

Dear all,
I have used some standard and generic datasources to extract data from CRM. These were working fine for more than a year and are scheduled in Process chains. For the past few days I am getting Caller 09 error as shown below, only for the generic datasources. I have checked the connection,replicated the datasources and activated them, reinitialized and have tried all the solutions that were posted earlier, but still the process chain fails. When I execute the process chain for generic datasources manually, it is working fine.
When I tried in RSA3 for both standard and generic datasources in CRM with update mode D, I get a message 'Error occured during the extraction',
Kindly suggest what can be the problem.

How you remove the error depends on the error message.
Note
If the source system is a Client Workstation, then it is possible that the file that you wanted to load was being edited at the time of the data request. Make sure that the file is in the specified directory, that it is not being processed at the moment, and restart the request.

Error while extracting data from data source 0RT_PA_TRAN_CONTROL, in RSA7

I'm getting the below error while extracting data from data source 0RT_PA_TRAN_CONTROL, in RSA7. (Actullly this is IS Retail datasource used to push POSDM data into BI cubes)
The error is:
Update mode "Full Upload" is not supported by the extraction API
Message no. R3011
Diagnosis
The application program for the extraction of the data was called using update mode "Full Upload". However, this is not supported by the InfoSource.
System Response
The data extraction is terminated.
Procedure
Check for relevant OSS Notes, or send a problem message of your own.

Hi David,
I have no experience with IS Retail data sources. But as message clearly say this DS is not suppose to be ran in Full mode.
Try to switch you DTPs/Infopackages to Delta mode.
While to checking extraction in source system, within TA RSA3 = Extractor checker, kindly switch Update mode field to Delta.

Error while extracting data from ODS using Infospokes - URGENT

Hi all,
I am extracting data from an ODS using infospokes and nothing fancy, no selection criteria but I am getting an error message saying
Syntax error in row3(-> long text) Msg id = "RG" and msgno is 102
Any ideas on how I can see what is the exact error and how to debug this?

Reason and Prerequisites
The data source is an ODS object and the extraction mode is 'delta'. The cause of the error message is that the ODS extractor is unable to select the request ID (InfoObject 0REQUID) from the change log of the ODS object. However, the request ID is mistakenly provided in the field list of the ODS object on the InfoSpoke maintenance screen. --
Solution
Delete the 0REQUID InfoObject from the field list of the InfoSpoke and activate the InfoSpoke. As of the patch mentioned below, the request ID in the template tab is no longer provided.

Import Support Package 16 for 3.0B (BW3.0B Patch 17 or SAPKW30B16) into your BW system. The Support Package will be available once note 571699 with the short text "SAPBWNews BW 3.0B Support Package 16", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.

Error when extracting data with extractor 2lis_04_matnr - NEED HELP ASAP !!

Got an error when extracting data with extractor 2lis_04_matnr.
System says (short dump):

Error when attempting to import object "MC04P_0MAT_TAB".
The current ABAP program "SAPLMCEX" had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed. This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program. When attempting to import data, it was discovered that the data type of the stored data was not the same as that specified in the program.
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR', was neither caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "MCEX_BW_LO_API" "(FUNCTION)".
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is: When importing the object "MC04P_0MAT_TAB", the component no. 5 in the dataset has a different type from the corresponding component of the target object in the program "SAPLMCEX". <b>The data type is "D" in the dataset, but "C" in the program.</b>

Check this note: 328181
So you need to delete entries in SM13/LBWQ for application and also detup table content.
And then refill teh set up table.
If you are in production clear the entries by running collective run no of times for this application 04.

Extracting data from ECC tables in BODS

Hello all,
I'm trying to extract data from ECC tables. I have created a data store and imported the necessary tables(FAGLFLEXT) that i will be using. I have used the table in a job as a source and tried to execute the job but i was only able to extract 28 records from the extractor when there are many more records present in the table and also when i view the data in BODS i can only see 28 records.
Plz help me in resolving this. How to extract the whole data?

The table layouts can be found in the [documentation for EPMA|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-data-models-11121-354684.zip] . If this doesn't work, there are other options to export hierarchies to text files. You can use life cycle management or the [EPMA File Generator|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epma_file_gen_user/launch.html].

2) Then i need extract MATERIALS based on above selected COMPANY CODE , PROFIT CENTER , PRODUCT from MKAL , CRHD Base R/3-Tables.
3) Then i need to extract the MATERIALS based on the above PROFIT CENTERS from MARC table with filters Material Type = 2P , 3P, 2N, 3N , 2S.
How i extract like this data . Please let me know

Our current situation is that we have scheduled the jobs through Solution_manager > solution Reporting > BI Data collection. Yet no data has been collected and the jobs are getting cancelled.
Has anyone come accross this same situation before? Plus I have just found out that on SOLMAN_WORKCENTER under System Monitoring there is a reporting step named IT PERFORMANCE reporting that needs to be configured.
Please advice since this will be critical for our busines.

Extract data from ECC to Oracle using Data Services 4.0

How to extract data from ecc6.0 Business content extractors to oracle using sap bo data services 4.0

Are you trying to use the SAP BW Business Content to extract data out of ECC and load into Oracle tables with Data Services? If that's the case, then you cannot do that. The SAP BW Business Content was developed to only be used in conjunction with SAP BW. When using Data Services to access the extractors in ECC, it has to have an SAP BW InfoPackage associated with it to execute. In this architecture, Data Services is only a pass through from ECC to BW and allows the ability to do some transformations of data prior to loading into the EDW layer (staging tables basically) on SAP BW.
To connect ECC to Oracle, you're going to have to have all of the SAP BusinessObjects supplied Function Modules loaded onto ECC, along with a non-dialog logon account that has the ability to pass dynamic ABAP programs, generate the programs and schedule them. Depending on how you want to process the output, you may also have to have the ability to write to files on the ECC application servers and have an FTP account created on the application servers that can GET flat files and potentially DELETE them (you're going to need to delete periodically, otherwise your jobs will crash when the file space allocation has been consumed).

Is this transactional or master data you want to extract?
HR works on Infotypes you need to check whether or not there is standard extractor if not then you need to find a table which this data is stored on. Once you have found the table then create a generic datasource in the source system. Then within BW replicate this datasource, create Infosource/ Transfer rules and load into ODS/Cube/InfoObject.
Also depending on which version of BW you are using you can create a DTP.
