Extracting delta through infoSpoke

Hi,
We are planning to extract delta information from an ODS but we are also using a lot of selection criteria to extract just few Characteristics and Key figures. How is it accomplished

Hi,
Create a Infospoke based on ur ODS , Select the infoobjects in to the right hanbd side in the infoobjects tab and then give your selections in the selection screen. If you wnat the delta first you need to initialize your infospoke and then run the delta on a daily basis.
You can just create a program when ur ODS gets loaded to trigger the process chain where in ur infospoke is available.

Short dump error when extracting delta records from R/3

I am working on BW 3.5 and I am facing some short dump error when extracting delta records from the r/3 to BW.

Hi,
I look at the transaction ST22 to see which type of error has given you. Take a look at the notes to correct the error.
Another option is to look at OSS notes, because the error is giving you a standard extractor.

BW GENERIC EXTRACTION DELTA PROBLEM

I have a problem for extracting delta from R/3 to BW.
Init data is loaded from R/3 to BW system for ZST_ORDER datasource.
Repair full request and selection parameter is created on date August 1st 2007 to August15th 2007.
During the delta extraction - A lot of records around 500,000 records are getting extracting from R/3 to BW.
R/3 side - There is only 5 entries available in AUFK table.
It should extract delta only less than 35 entries.
ZST_ORDER is generic datasource . Delta captured field is DATUM -New status changed record value 2.

hi,
for that quantity SALK3 is referring a different table in the reference field for your table fields. check that field and refer the correct table for that field in table view.
table join has a problem in that. i think your joined some other table with that field. replace the field assignment or create a new view.

BW 7.3 ,can we extract delta data from mutiproviders using OHD

Hi Gurus,
My requirement is to extract the delta data from multiple infocube (more than one IC) using open hub destination to third party system. We thought of implementing BW 7.3 so that we can extract delta data from multiproviders instead of cubes to open hub destination...
My question is:
1.Is that possible to extract delta data from multiproviders using open hub destination.
2.Is there any limitations?
3.list of possible known issues from BW7.3 .

Yes you are right. In 7.3 we can extract data from MultiProviders using DTP.

Extracting delta's with ODP-data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR from SAP ECC

We are using ODP-replication to extract data from SAP ECC to a MS SQL-database by SAP BusinessObjects Data Services.
For extracting Material-data we use the standard data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR in SAP ECC.
This data source delivers a full load with all Materials in it.
In the properties of this data source (tab attributes) we saw that this data source is Delta_Extractor_Capable.
Therefore we set the extraction mode from 'Query' to CDC (= Change Data Capable) and did a new initial load to get all Materials again.
After changing a Material in ECC, we did a delta-load, but unfortunately we received ZERO records.
Is there anyone with experience on extracting delta's with data source 0MATERIAL_ATTR or another standard masterdata data source in ECC?

Delete the Queue in LBWQ/RSA7 and then freshly load Init and Check the Delta.
Once you load the Init then if there are no new records then it won't get any data. so 0 records
Check in SM37 in ECC why the job is terminated. See in ST22 also.

Unable to load deltas through Process chain(PC)

Hello Experts ,
I have scheduled the PC , deltas are not getting loaded from PC.
Load type : Immediate , periodic updates : for every 30 min.
(ii) Stopped the PC and tried to run deltas manually
Status 0 from 0 records in ODS
also 0 from 0 records in PSA
RSA3 contains records.
1.Can I load all the deltas without PC. (or)
2.What changes should I take to run deltas through PC.

Your not getting the records into Bw Right. on Which Functional module ur workin in BW ( i.e ur SD,FI,MM) why bcoz if it is other than FI
u have to check R/3 side
1. "Jobcontrol" has done periodically for every 30min (why bcoz ur pulling data for every 30min right) <b>OR</b> Not.
If Jobcontrol has not done u have to to do periodically for every 30 min .
2. Next u have to pull the data It will work definately.
I am very much sure about this.

I used the FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE as template to extract data from datasource.
But this FM extarct full data.
I need to extract delta by FM.
Can you please send me a sample code that extract delta using timestamp?

Hi,
This error RSBO320 is usually related to an inconsistency of infospoke internal tables which is will need to be reset manually by SAP developers. So you'll probably be best opening a ticket under BW-WHM-DBA-OHS.

I am doing that from past one month but it will work for only full update (Extraction mode). I want delta extraction mode on multiprovider.

0FI_AR_4 Arithmetic overflow while extracting delta

Hi All,
While extracting 0FI_AR_4 delta from R/3 only data packages 2-4 were recieved in BW. Data package 1 is missing and the load was terminated with an error: "Arithmetic overflow error converting numeric to data type numeric.#3621 The statement has been terminated."
Looking in RSA7 (in R/3 side) I can see all delta data waiting for Delta Repetition but can not locate any erroneous record (although I get "overflow" error when trying to sum one of the fields there. Sorting this field's values reveals nothing odd).
Any idea as how to locate the bad record(s) , and as how to fix the problem?

How to use 'flat file extraction' option in Infospoke

Hello Gurus,
We are trying to extract the BW data using Infospoke to a 3rd party ETL tool (Datastage). Now in the current BW 3.5 release, the customer is on SP11 and we are not able to extract any data using a 3rd party system option in Infospoke. Due to the fact, we found out from SAP, that since we are getting an error (3rd party system is not set)in infospoke, we have to upgrade the SP level from 11 to either 16 or 17. The customer that we are dealing with is not going to do that until July - 2007.
So now we have a second option to load the 'flat file' in BW App. server and FTP to Datastage. Is this something workable option?
When using that option within Infospoke destination Tab, we can see two options. One is to use File option and load the data within the standard DIR HOME. I tried that but I can't see the file and the entire data within the standard directory. Can anyone explain why and what will be the procedure to follow?
The second option is to use Logical file. I never done that before. Can anyone explain step by step process or provide the detail document and/or link?
Since we are at the critical timeframe stage, I would appreciate if I can get the faster response from the Gurus.
I will make sure to give 'reward points' to each and every helpful answer(s).

first, let me clarify one thing here! I am not saying '3rd party tool' as an option in infospoke. I know Infospoke provides only two options (DB table, and file). But when you use DB table option, you check mark on 3rd party destination and that's where you define an RFC destination for 3rd party tool. So when you execute an infospoke, it will start extracting data and load into the defined destination. Since we are on SP11 on BW 3.5 release, we are getting an error while executing an Infospoke using 'DB table option'. The error is like '3rd party destination is not set'. When I went to Marketplace and found an OSS note, I found out that we need an upgrade on SP level (upto 17).
   As I mentioned earlier, the client doesn't want to upgrade until next year, and we are at the critical timeframe stage, where we have to make a decision whether we hold this project until the SP upgrade happens or found alternate approach where we can extract the data from BW (somehow) and load into Teradata database via Datastage - BW Pack (3rd party ETL).
   So we might be able to use the second option in Infospoke destination, which is to use 'Flat file' load.
   Now when I use File option with App. server checked, the data loads into default Server and directory on BW. Which is DIR_HOME. I can see those file extracted and loaded into that directory under the transaction AL11. But I can't see any data. Do you think I have to request for an increase in size limit? If I see all the data, how can I FTP from the BW server? Do I have to work with SAP Basis or create a UNIX script?
   When I use Logical file name, I guess I have to follow what you have described on your response, correct? Can i use an existing Logical path and file name? Do you have a 'How to' document on creating YEAR and PER FM? Is it possible that Basis can do this work for us? What happens after we assign a logical Path and logical file name into the destination tab on Infospoke? What is the use of logical file versus file? Overall, I am looking for a process from extracting the data from Infospoke using either file or logical file, all the way to load into 3rd party database.

Generic Extraction Delta Loads

I am facing problem is I want to extract the data in Generic Extraction in View, Suppose my requirement is I want to delta loads every 1 hour per day, how can i do, Generic Extraction possible are not delta records.
Note:- LO Extraction is possible like we have update mode we can scheduled hours in everyday, But Generice Extraction possible are not.

There are various delta method

For youe requirement Time stamp will work.

We are using two Infospokes,one for the Full and one for Delta.We get the full data using full update,But when we run the Delta Infospoke,First run it is picking all the records.From the second run it is picking deltas.Please shed some light on this issue.

Can any body please give me idea about how delta works in Infospoke. I have to download around 80000 records data from infocube(Reques id say R1, R2 and R3)to DB table. Do i need to create two info spoke (1 for full upload and another for Delta) for same infocube as source.

Hi,
Please indicate the release you are working on (really old one like 3.5, or a recent on like BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s). This works diffently in Bi in SAP NetWeaver 2004s, as the delta is controlled by the DTP delta.
