Extracting mail out of Groupwise

Unfortunately we are migrating from GW to Exchange 2003SP2, that aside,
I'm hoping to get some help on how something works, and a possible
solution.
The issue is that when I use the Exchange Migration Utility (2003sp2) it
pulls all the email out just fine and put it into and Exchange account.
The problem is that once there, if you reply to a converted message, the
right click the addresse and choose properties it says the email type is
GWISE: and usually has the format GWISE:gwdom.gwpo.gwuser obviously
exchange doesn't know how to route this and it results in a
undeliverable. Ideally it would be nice to have it come over in and SMTP
address format, is it possible to force this? Any ideas on what the
migrator looks at for an address, it appears that it pulls from the
current directory for the address.
Thanks for the help,
Bob

I just went through a Groupwise to Exchange 2003SP2 migration (800 users).
I used the Quest Groupwise Migrator for Exchange. I wonder in your case if
you could make it work by creating an additionl address in your default
recipient policy with a GWISE address type. For the record, I'm not sure
this address type is available unless the Groupwise connector is installed,
which I'm not sure the Exchange Migration Utility requires. One way or
another, create GWISE addresses for the users in the format that it's trying
to send it in.

  • Problem setting up smtp mail out .

Hi all you good people .
I am having a problem setting up the mail program . I'm using mail two under os-x leopard 10.5.7 . I have the pop mail working fine , but for some reason or another it wont send the mail out . I remember I got it working before , but it was a pain in the butt to do . So I ma forced to use Microsoft Entourage for my mail receiving and sending . I think Microsoft Takes more skill to use than the apple mail program .
I would love for someone to help me solve this . My mail server is from time warner . I use there High speed internet for my mail access .
    P.S Roadrunner .

    Hi,
I assume you are using Mail 3.6, and not "mail two"?
What Authentication are you using on this SMTP? If not already, try using None, and removing Password and Username from SMTP setup for at least one test. Most Roadrunner SMTP are authenticated by reference to the IP address of your Modem, and using a separate authentication of the SMTP results in failure.
Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information, then click on the arrows beside the name of the SMTP in the section on Outgoing Server. After you click on the arrows, choose Edit Server List. Then if the SMTP is set up with the correct name, etc, click on the Advance Tab, use Custom Port with Port 25, None as authentication, and do not enter any Username and Password. Under authentication of None, the name of the SMTP will not have your Username appended. This is the equivalent, after having previously done the set up, to those email clients with a setting to use the info of the Incoming for authentication.
Let us know, but Roadrunner can vary from area to area on this, but this is the way it seems to always work.

  • I can send e mail out I get email in need help

I can seand e mail out on my I pad I can get  e mail in

Bad move. POP only stores the email wherever it last is checked.  It does not keep anything back at the internet provider unless you tell it to.  IMAP is far better for storing email centralized on the internet provider, and copying it to local folders on your Mac.  The phone likely won't copy it onto itself, if it is an iPhone, as the iPhone uses the same mail as the iPad.  But at least that will keep a backup on the server until you are ready to check it on your Mac.

  • Extracting Data Out of BW

    Hi,
I'm researching what other companies are doing with regards to extracting data out of your BW data warehouse.
Do you allow data to be extracted out of BW?
If so, do you push data out to them?  Or do the external systems pull the data out?
There's no right answer here.  I'm just trying to get a feel for best practices as to whether external clients should pull data out or have it pushed to them.
By PUSH, I mean that BW initates the data extraction.  And by PULL, I mean that external systems initiate the data extraction.
    THANKS!

    Hi,
Does anybody know that is it possible created an infospoke on a multicube/multiprovider?
When creating a infospoke you can only choose between
Datasource types: Basicube, Infobject (x2) & ODS, if you choose Basicube option and then do the f4 dropdown  the drop down does not contain a list  of Multiprovisers.
However if you type the name of the multiprovider straight into the field the system will accept it, and the spoke will activate.
I have tried to execute the spoke and it does generate a few data packets before  erroring. I am unclear if the error is because the spoke is based on a Multiprovider or a different issue. Error message provided below:
    System error: RSDRC / FORM AUTHORITY_CHECK RSDRC / FORM AUTHORITY_CHECK R
System error: RSDRC / FUNC RSDRC_BASIC_CUBE_DATA_GET RSDRC / FUNC RSDRC_B
System error: RSDRC / FORM DATA_GET RSDRC / FORM DATA_GET RSDRC / FORM DA

  • Pages rendering for mail out?

how do you render a pages document to mail so links etc work and its centralized and not an attacment persay,,its for a music promo mail out,,please help!

Apple Mail stationery via third party templates, or custom development is another possibility. The latter isn't for beginners, and is made more palatable by the use of commercial tools like Mail Designer Pro. Apple Mail stationery embeds the graphical elements into the e-mail, rather than a dependence on those images hosted on a remote server.
Yesterday, I composed an email with Apple Mail stationery, and sent it to a peer, who received it in Outlook Web App (OWA). This was on a 2010 Exchange Server. The e-mail appeared in the Microsoft mail user agent just as intended by my original composition within Apple Mail.
I also tested the “Send Contents of This Page” feature from Safari 6 on Lion (10.7.5) that opened an Apple Mail composition window with the web page displayed. I prepended the page content with a short message and sent it on to OWA with similar results to above. On Mountain Lion, the equivalent would be the Sharing icon on the Safari toolbar that contains ”Email this Page.”
Caveat. There is no assurance that all e-mail clients will embrace Apple Mail stationery, or any HTML e-mail composition with equal compatibility.

Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc. I use Gmail, for instance, even though I could get an account through my ISP. The nice thing about web-based accounts is that they travel with you. Most have a website page devoted to configuring your email properly for both incoming and outgoing mail servers. You may have something as simple as a port misconfiguration.
So who do you have this account with?

  • Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!  I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, thankfully I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply.  Please help.  Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-
    http://www.ecu.edu/cs-itcs/mac/Apple-Mail-Out-of-Office-Replies.cfm
I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails. Thank you

    You can set it easily...
To access this feature in Apple's Mail app, right click on any sub-folder (like your exchange inbox on the left) and choose "Get Account Info." A window will pop up that looks like the one below. Make sure to select your Exchange account from the Account dropdown. Then click on the Out Of Office tab. If you have ever put in an Out of Office message in the past it will be displayed here. You can adjust and set your Out of Office from Apple Mail from within this tab.
