F4 Help on Dynpro

Hi experts,
how can I implement f4 help on a dynpro. I created 3 screens, and I want to create F4 help on screen 200. As I know I have to create f4 help like the following:
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR <field-name>.
But I don't have selection screen in case of DYNPRO's. Am I right, how can I implement it by the way?

To bring calendar as search help in simple way try this code.
Paramters : date type DATS.
This will bring the calendar help else u have to refer the type from dictionary having dats as a field type or field attached with search help that can bring calendar help.

Hi to all,
In my application I have a field with a search help.
I want that this field only can be modified using a search help and this field can't be modified directly writing in this field.
Is similar to transaction se63 - Translation - Abap objects - Short texts - OTR - Source language
I have created an example with the field SFLIGHT_T-CARRID but this field can be modified with search help and directly, or this field can't be modified.
How can i solve this problem?

F4 help for the field enhanced in IT 21 - Urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have enhanced IT 21 with a new field called "Country of citizenship" in custom include CI_0021.
For this i have assigned LAND1 as the domain and the data element. The value table for this is
T005. but the problem is i am not able to get any value in the F4 help for this field in PA30 screen
for IT 21. Please help me in solving this issue. its very urgent.

how can we use f4 help like dynpro when the result of the search help depends on input fields on the screen.

yes i did it like that but my problem is, given 2 Files CustomerNumber and CompanyCode.
When entering 0010 into Field CompanyCode and pressing search Help on CustomerNumber i want only to see customers who are in CompanyCode 0010 -> technicalle companycode is a input for the search help.
In normal dynpro this works without doing much but how to do with webDynpro or where do i make the "fault".

Web Dynpro Code Wizard - code patterns

the code patterns that are generated by the very helpful Web Dynpro Code wizard seem to be a little inconsistent in their syntax structuring.
If I were to ask the wizard to read me a context node - I would get something like (some bits removed for brevity):

Ok - both work - but one is using the:
result = class_ref->methodname( parameters = paramvalue )
and one is using
call method class_ref->methodname
                                  exporting parameters = paramvalue
                                receiving result = result.
As I often have to review code written by others, I encourage them to use these wizards - it helps speed code and prevents simple mistakes. But code that contains multiple different syntax structure approaches is harder to read (albeit only slightly), moreover - it looks sloppy.
But why are they not consistent in their syntax structure? (one could also argue why do we have multiple syntax structures for the same operation - but that's a different discussion).
Is there some way customers can update these structures to match with their own internal coding standards - or something we can change so that they go one way or another?
I look forward to other's thoughts on the same topic.

Delete the entry from dropdown list in the pop up window in ALV report

Hi All,
I have a requirement in the ALV interactive report ZMM_IMPL .If we enter selection screen parameters its displaying the first screen.If we click on 'Goods Issue' tab ,it display the pop up window for Requirement Pick list with Batch number ,Storage location and Quantity.Here we have F4 option for batch number(MCH1-CHARG) and we could see all batches (with stock and without stock) in the drop down.
Now my requirement is i would need to delete the non stock batches from drop down values.
Ex:we clich F4 in batch number field(CHARG) ,could see 4 batches Test1 ,Test2 ,Test3 and Test4 .Here Test1 ,Test2 are Batch stock and other two are Non stock batches. We could see all these batches (with and without stock) in MCHB table.Now i would need to delete non stock batches(Batch with zero qty (MCHB-CLABS = 0) from drop down.
Any idea on this.

User wants to appear only batches with stock value in the drop down .Here Batches test1, test2 , test3 have stock but test4 has no stock value. Now the requirement is if stock does not exist in any of those batches it should not appear in the drop down and propose batches based on quantity.
Batch stock value can be seen through transaction MB52 and could see only Test1.Test2 and Test3.
They have arleady code in the program for F4 help to Batch number as following,

Delete batches with zero stock from dropdown list

Hi All,
I have a requirement on batch stock materials.The exist program displaying multiple batches for material plant with stock and without stock in the drop down list for MCH1 table in the pop up window.
Now i would need to delete the batches with zero stock from drop down list.I could find the data for stock and non stock from MCHB table .
Any idea how to delete the entry of non stock batches from drop down list

Error opening form(HCM Forms and Process) in ESS

Hi,
Im getting following error when im trying to open form from ESS.
The following error text was processed in the system IED : Web Dynpro application /PAASRFORMSTEP/EDITFORMAPP does not exist .
I have created Resource and assigned it to Service through SPRO
Resource Parameters:-
Directory Path   = paasrformstep
Object Name     = EditFormApp
URL Parameter = sap.xss.disablehdr&Process=Process Name
also i have given PCD of the Page in URL of Page
Service Parameters:-
Service Type     = WebDynpro Java Application
Link Resource   = Reasource Name
Proxy Class       = CL_HRASR00_PROCESSES_AREAPAGE

Hi Santosh,
1. Check whether namespace sap.com/paasrformstep even exists on your portal. Take a look at the content administrator of WebDynpro Tools. Should be "http://server:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer"
2. Make sure you don't have any Typos in the Service-Name of your iView (case sensitive!)
3. Check your NWA monitoring trace log where you can see the java stack and see where the error actually occurs.

Using function module DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE to update table control

Hello all
i am using FM "DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE" to update values from search help to dynpro. there are more than 1000 records to be updated, but in table control only visible area values only getting updated. Can any one please help regarding this?

Look at FM DYNP_GET_STEPL which provides povstepl index to be able to update field values in correct row of table control with DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE (and to read correct value with DYNP_VALUES_READ too)
NB: If you need to update multiple rows, I'm not sure that can be done in POV, you may be required to modify the internal table and trigger PAI/PBO cycle with a suppress dialog, or method/FM to trigger ok_code.

How to change the maximum number of items allowed in the Value Help DDL**:
Maximum number of items that a Value Help DDL can hold is defined by the "sap.valuesetlimit.maxondemand" property of the web dynpro "default" property sheet. J2ee administrator can change this value by logging into the "Visual Administrator" tool as follows:
- Go to Instance_ID -> Server<X> -> Services -> Configuration Adapter.
- On the right hand panel, select "Display Configuration" tab under "Runtime" tab.
- Under the "Configurations" tree select webdynpro -> sap.com -> tcwddispwda -> propertysheet default
- Switch to edit mode by clicking on the button on the top left corner of the right panel having a pen and a spectacle icon on it while keeping the "propertysheet default" selected.
- Double click "propertysheet default". "Display Configuration" popup appears. Select "sap.valuesetlimit.maxondemand" property and provide a custom value. Apply Custom. Switch back to view mode.
- Restart the server.
We strongly discourage to manipulate this value untill and otherwise it is very much required to do so. Should your application always deals with a large number of value sets, use enumerated DDLs instead. Follow the next section on how to use this.
**Be careful to change this value as it is a global change and every application (having value help : web dynpro and interactive form) running on this server will be affected.

Help needed with Network UI (JNET) in WEB DYNPRO for JAVA

Hi all,
We are using Network UI element in our Web Dynpro Java. All is ok, but we have a problem with 'PRINT_PREVIEW' button. If you do click on this button, another window is open with a page preview, but always is shown the first XML loaded, in other words, if you load a XML and change it, print preview don´t show this changes.
There are some information about Network UI in SDN but nothing about our problem.
Can somebody help me?, we need show refresh data in print preview page.

We are generating all XML (Type Repository, Data, etc...) and passing this new file to Network UI Datasource property.

I have created a freely programed help in web dynpro for abpa application,I refer:

but have a problem!
   If you focus on the the input field in the first row, you get the value help
However if I go to the second row and focus on the same input field in this column, I don't get the value help:
What is a good way to solve similar problems？
